Sammy, Anthony, Bonham, and Vic; these gents are SO much more than the sum of their past bands, simply put this is The Circle! Thank you so much for the great music.
I love it! Jason, really cool that your dad exposed you to all kinds of music. I love Montrose, Van Halen, Sammy Hagar, grew up playing Led Zeppelin! And I play in a Barry White tribute band! So cool to hear you say your dad loved Barry! 🎸🎶
Mottahead Its a cover band?? Its more like the worse thing about America. Is this what its come to now for Rock n Roll music?? Sad. Remember its a 'cover band'.
***** Yeah & the same for Van Halen!! They too are having a damn good time rockin out, enjoying life, living life & happy doing what the VH fans want, Van Halen kicking ass!!!!
***** And they are!! Yet because VH are a happy band these days these naysayers, haters & Hagar lovers ca't or won't except that & will spread their hate & negativity to do what their cringe worth leader Spammy Hagar does, by sabotaging anything VH does! As a VH fan its my right to defend the mighty VH from this Spam attack!!
Champane97 Yeah Eddie seems real happy talking crap about Mike instead of just saying "My kids good on bass that's why he's in the band" and talking shit about his own current lead singer. Good times.
+DesignPro2002 Come on man, don't kid yourself; that's all most bands are. Most of these bands are supplied with music from professional songwriters. Aerosmith hasn't written a good song since 1977; they may have three or four per album but the bulk is from pro writers. Especially the hits. Take a look at Led Zeppelin; they were essentially a cover band as well with all the material they lifted.
Michael Anthony is so much better off with Sammy. As they said in the video, they been playing together for almost 30 years. These guys are having a good time where the other side with Ed seems like constant misery.
I think Mikey said it right on about Vic's playing, he doesn't mimic EVH playing...I actually think he plays better cuz he puts his own touch to those songs. Keep it rock'in Sammy.
Long time forever Stan here. Sammy and Michael are my favorites. Poor Eddie was way to problematic but still much love RIP. I love rewatching these old interviews ❤️ Chicken Foot is one of my favorites.
..I like these guys..always been a Van HAlen fan..Zeppelin...what have you..I like the more raw sound of what Vic does, as oppesed to the Satch stuff...Dont get me wrong...Satch is the best,,but, with vocals..whole band and songwise...I'm lookin forward to seein these guys....
When I listen to interviews, media posts, public comments from the VH camp it's always drama about other people, who can do what, who did what, who shouldn't do what, attorney's calling to restrict others. When I listen to Sammy and Michael in all their projects over the years since VH, it's all about fun, rock and roll, good times, etc. I have always loved Eddie and all versions of Van Halen but I have spent good money to see them over the years and even recently have spent good money to see Sammy in his projects and Eddie in his.... I am done wasting my hard earned money on any more live performances from Eddie and what ever camp he allows to be in his band. Sammy has always given me way more quality and way more down to earth rock n roll than Eddie has. Sorry but this life long Eddie Van Halen worshiper just jumped ship. I will always watch and listen to what they have to offer over the internet and even buy albums they polish in the studio but Sammy gets my ticket sales now.
Don't give up hope just yet. Someday Mike, Sammy, and Ed will reconcile their differences and come back together, and be about rock and roll and good times again. Eddie himself once said that in all the VH albums ever made, 5150 was the one where there were no problems and everything was peachy, it was with Sammy that he felt the most comfortable. In 1986 at least. Don't lose hope. It can happen.
Sammy always has great projects, but I wish he would drop the whole VH possible reunion talk. He didn’t do it here and I enjoyed this interview. If they had of included Vic it would’ve been better. I’ve been a fan of Vic’s playing since I first heard him in the 80’s with the Busboys.
Right Now, Eddie is pretending he is enjoying being on stage with Roth. Right Now, Sammy, Mike, Jason, and Vic are actually enjoying being on stage together. Right now, there are numerous opinions about classic Van Halen, 1985-1996 Van Halen, and "The New" (old) Van Halen. Either way, "The New" Van Halen will never sound like classic Van Halen. Dave is toast. Right Now, Sammy and Mike are rocking out with their friends instead of walking on eggshells and flying separate jets between shows. Right Now, it's all good for Sammy and Mike. Right Now, thousands of people are blowing a paycheck to go see Eddie Van Halen play guitar, but let's face it, that's all you're going to enjoy about the New Van Halen show.
Sammy Hagar can put together a really great band with big names. But it never goes anywhere for some reason. And no matter how excited they are in the studio with their original material, once they put it out to the masses nobody seems to give a shit, lol. I think the problem is Sammy.
Mike Sutter You're right. Sammy has SO much money he really doesn't have to work that hard. Not that there's a problem with that, it would be a nice place to be. But, I think that music is more of a hobby for him. Remember what he said about Chickenfoot "It's a hobby band for us". Plus, how long has he been in music? I love Sammy and wish he'd tour more, but I understand.
I think if "The Circle" should play " The Rover" by Zeppelin -- I think Sammy could do that really well. I'd also like to hear Jason pound out those "Bonzo" beats.
John Bonham used to dig Barry White for one simple reason : he had good taste in music. Barry White's music is the best soundtrack to have playing while having sex. Enough said. (Even though Led Zeppelin live version of Dazed and Confused would make a close second to Barry's shit).
dyno1316 Why? Then it would still be Chickenfoot. Sammy talked about the chemistry with Jason, plus the ability to play Zeppelin tunes, etc. Joe isn't right for The Circle.
montrose was a big deal, a good band. then 1985. if you hadn't joined VH the band, ed would have crawled into a cave and said fuck it. i know this guy, you brought him back. some new and original music.
ZachIsGod I get a real laugh at how Sam is talking up a 'cover band' like its a new thing. WTF??? Nothing he says carries any weight or purpose. He's burnt so many bridges that there's no water underneath & the ground as grown that there's no purpose to build a bridge!
WTF do you mean a cover band? Did you not listen to the interview? They're taking the band on the road doing songs they were all a part of at some point (Van Halen, Montrose, Led Zepplin) to get the band tight and to gel as a unit before they go in the studio to record original material. It's a smart idea.
ZachIsGod You are Clueless about Sammy.I saw him play in 79 in a high school gym-San Bernandino for 3 HOURS.This was after seeing him open for Boston. Both shows Fantastic!.He deserves all the success he's gotten!Keep rocking Sammy!
Bill Clark I am personal friends with two of Michael Anthony's family members. He is not only a solid musician, but he's a solid family man and has zero need for drug use, let alone abuse. The fact you would assume otherwise is pretty obnoxious. Sammy is also happily married and has kids. He's a solid musician and businessman, and while he does enjoy a sip of his tequila and rum occasionally, he's 66 years old, and he wouldn't have as much energy or look like he's 46 if he was using blow. So, I'd venture to say you're wrong, little buddy!
There is something about Sammy Hagar that reminds me of a big fat chicken and then he gets with a band called chickenfoot ( IRMC ). Then to top it all off when he starts singing it sounds like a chicken being slaughtered.

America - we have the best and the worst in the world in America.
Sammy Hagar and the Circle is among the best things about America.
Mottahead Its a cover band?? Its more like the worse thing about America. Is this what its come to now for Rock n Roll music?? Sad. Remember its a 'cover band'.

I saw this show at 'Rebellion'. This line up is amazing! THIS is a Rock and Roll band!
"You can have the best players in the world, but if they can't play together..."
Michael Anthony is so much better off with Sammy. As they said in the video, they been playing together for almost 30 years. These guys are having a good time where the other side with Ed seems like constant misery.
But EVH is the genius.
Mikey Anthony is just one low, key cool dude ... I love The Circle (plus, Sammy, Vic, and Jason ... who could ask for anything more than that?).
These are 4 super humble guys Who seem to get along great. How great it must be to belong to a group like this. All super talented without the drama.
love the fact that Michael Anthony does not whine about van halen. just moved on....great band right here.
This was over a year ago. What did they do since? First I've seen of 'the circle'.
Real Positive Interview.
ThanQ for sharing. Create An Awesome Day.
I think Mikey said it right on about Vic's playing, he doesn't mimic EVH playing...I actually think he plays better cuz he puts his own touch to those songs. Keep it rock'in Sammy.
Thanks for what you bring Jason! Love your persective...

I would pay top dollar to see Van Hagar again.... With Michael. That was a very talented band!
Yeah Sammy !! Love the Red Rocker and always will.
Nicest guys on the PLANET!
Amen brother, welcome
Sam, find your way back to San Diego, for us poor folk. You kicked ass at the races...5th time, like a youngster!
Right Now, Eddie is pretending he is enjoying being on stage with Roth.

I think if "The Circle" should play " The Rover" by Zeppelin -- I think Sammy could do that really well. I'd also like to hear Jason pound out those "Bonzo" beats.
WTF!!!! Why can't you ever hardly see or hear Vic Johnson during this interview?
THIS IS GREAT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! REAL ROCK N ROLL THANK GOD LOVE THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i don't care about what they say about you sam, we still love ya.
John Bonham used to dig Barry White for one simple reason : he had good taste in music.

(Even though Led Zeppelin live version of Dazed and Confused would make a close second to Barry's shit).
How cute is Mikey?
it's cool, but not fantastic…but maybe they will deliver a new kick-ass album.
Joe should join that Band.
dyno1316
Why? Then it would still be Chickenfoot. Sammy talked about the chemistry with Jason, plus the ability to play Zeppelin tunes, etc. Joe isn't right for The Circle.
Their rock stars what do u want u get up there and belt em out it takes effort to make this shit work sammys not jelous u are
It would hard for the VH brothers to slam Jason..
Mayweather, even though it was an underwhelming fight by both -- and a major disappointment for the fans.
Circle ? I thought they were called Chickenfoot?
+jimmmmybrady 4:00
Dave is over !
I had respect for all this when I thought I saw a pint of Guinness in front of Mike but sadly realised it is a plastic cup of fake life!!
mumbledee mumble mumble....i know a secret but ya'lls need a decoder ring to finger it out.
montrose was a big deal, a good band. then 1985. if you hadn't joined VH the band, ed would have crawled into a cave and said fuck it. i know this guy, you brought him back. some new and original music.
Sammy Hagars next failed "supergroup"
ZachIsGod stfu

ZachIsGod dlr can't even sing B I N G O !!!
Diamond Dave can't sing man
Carlos Vega
His nickname should be changed from "Diamond Dave" to Douche Nozzle Dave.
Not anymore anyway
Carlos Vega he lasted as long as he could Dave he did good but you are correct his voice has diminished
I don’t know but Sammy is incredible
mike has plenty of money to do what he wants.if he likes the hair plugs wtf would he care about what you tools think.
Is it just me or isn't it obvious the nose rubbing, nose scratching, nose sniffing that is going on with Sammy and Michael?
Bill Clark
Maybe their noses itched. You seem to know a lot about cocaine, though.
As a drug counselor for over 25 years I do know just a wee bit about cocaine, meth etc...
Bill Clark

Powerslave. That's all you got?
Dumbass

You could have filmed Vic. I know he's black, but he's still a person.
Huh.....this stupid insta-band have done nothing.
