Hy Daniel I am living in Italy south. I seeded a new lawn last October it has grown well, but I am getting a lot of weeds what can I do to get rid of them, I am pulling them out by hand at the moment. Can you give me some of your expert advice. Thanks wish you well John.
That was an old customer who i first started back in 2003 i think but my friend took over n she was wondering if i could do it as one off as he lives in india 5 months a year, i said i couldnt do it lol
Looks great Dan would you ever recommend cutting lawn on no.2 or is that too short providing the ground is level of course. I normally cut on a three but find it sometimes doesn’t show up the lines that well and grows back pretty quickly!
I very much would like to know how one could attack those weedgrasses. Is there something I can do longer term as some sort of discouragement policy for it not to grow and give my ryegrass a chance to overtake it? Or is killing or taking it out and reseeding the only option?
Nothing other than digging out and turf using the same turf if possible, but with scarifying and feeding we make the problem worse, what can’t be cured must be endured
Are there any advantages of having a grass covered lawn over a moss covered one? Personally I find moss softer and (from what I'm told) way lower maintenance and suffocates weeds better than grasses, so it has made me wonder what makes grass better?

My lawn is pretty level. There just the odd bump here and there. I'm thinking of putting a loam mix down to try and get it even flatter. Any suggestions on prep?
Thank you for sharing. I have a similar project, but on a slightly larger scale (roughly 3000 sqm). So using a lot of products would make it extremely costly. I will try to get most of the moss out by scarifying as it only eats my time. Would your lawn recover if you did more passes, or would it ruin the lawn? And how long would you expect it would take for the lawn to recover from 3 passes. Take care.
I scarified my own lawn the other day using an Apache 390 but when I dropped the blades to 3 mm it did nothing ( this was the recommended dept by Apache) What dept did you work at as you got a nice volume of thatch with one pass? Still learning the trade.. thank you again..
Oh same story here but there becomes a point when i have to do stuff as i wont have enough time but with the higher temps the ground drying out quicker
Hi Daniel. I’ve bought some moss killer and galactic green from your eBay store. What treatment could I use, at the same time, that would kill the rest of the weeds in the grass? Any recommendations please? Love the channel by the way.

Last year was so dry spring and summer I I glad of this rain but just rain in the night 😄😄
I used to be terrified of scarifying til I watched Daniel, now do it at least twice a year !
Always the way customers use to wince but then the year after they would say when are you scarifying

You can cut short first time round then if you keep at that height the lawn will adapt, rotarys bit harsher though

an area of short, regularly mown grass in the garden of a house or park.

Yes takes the stress off the scarifier and means you have less to rake up
