To this day, I have mixed feelings about Primal Rage 2... one part, my childhood self was disappointed it was never released despite the hype behind it where they even sold actual toys of the then-upcoming characters for this new game that was coming out... and the other part disappointed most of the cast was essentially replaced by human "avatars" which killed a lot of the appeal and identity of it being a "fighting game but with dinosaurs and apes". There's already enough human vs human fighting games as it is and the appeal of using stop-motion/claymation as fighting game characters was also done with Clayfighter and a few select characters in the old Mortal Kombat games. Tatoo Assassins would have been AMAZING back in the day, and NOPE, i´m not joking., those who didn´t live in the early 90s wouldn´t understand, but FMV games, stuff like Rise of the Robots or Mortal Kombat where SHOCKING., the images were very impressive, and to have something like tatoo assassins, something like Mortal Kombat but more extreme and with more outrageging stuff would really be a cult arcade cabinet., YES all of this aged terribly bad, but time and ages are a very strange thing, i swear to all of you who didn´t live that time., those technologies were the cutting edge., and we all were like hypnotize by those graphics., when the years went by then people started to realize that Rise of the Robots sucked for example and so on...
I played Eye of the Typhoon on DOS a few years ago and the game blew me away, it was WAY BETTER than Fight Fever (which was mid at best), and a Neo Geo version using the G I G A P O W E R would be awesome.
To be honest These games look so cool! I Like the chainsaw incident, burning fist, fatal noise, capcom fighting allstars, global kumite, marvel chaos, clay fighter 3DS game and PS1. Who agree with me? Which one of the games would you want to play.
Better robot fighting games than Rise of the Robots: Wing Gundam: Endless Duel (SNES) Gundam Battle Assault 2 (PS1) Gundam EX Revue (arcade) Megatudo 2096 (PS1) Virtual On series (arcade, Saturn, DC) Real Robots Final Attack (PS1) Tech Romancer (Dreamcast) Cyberbots (arcade/PS1/Saturn)
Yeah, I was really excited to see what they did with it, as it was such a crazy idea that each studio would make their own version of the game. Shame Namco never followed through.
Missing Force Five, Kenju, The Falling Angels and Konami's Fighting Bujitsu. I definitely wish Tenth Degree, Capcom Fighting All Stars, and that Justice League game had come out. The Falling Angels was actually supposed to be finally finished and released a few years ago for modern consoles but nothing ever became of it afaik.
@@budgiecat9039 The Atomiswave ones weren't around when this was written, would've been cool to show Force Five for sure. Fighting Bujutsu wasn't cancelled though was it?
@@onaretrotip You posted this video almost a year ago so absolutely yes the Dreamcast converted Atomisware games were already around by then for at least three years. I know because I've had most of them downloaded onto my Raspberry Pi 4 for which I had bought in 2020 and installed them in the same year, so they were converted in 2020. Nonetheless all those games are well over 20 to 25 years old anyway.. Fighting Bujitsu absolutely was cancelled by Konami. I'm still pissed about that because it looked like it was gonna be a contender against Virtua Fighter and Tekken and competition yields more quality for us gamers. This is why Madden games suck now because there is no competition. You can still find some rare videos of the game running on some rare arcade Jamma boards some people found and unfortunately even though the game was ripped and uploaded online for emulation, it runs like crap on MAME emulation last I checked. At least the few but rare actual arcade footage videos run well...hmm As far as Konami, they ended up making another 3D fighter which was released to the first PlayStation at the end of 1998 it was called Kensei: Sacred Fist, and it's a pretty underrated fighter. It even has a -not- Steven Seagal character in it named Douglas. Just like how N64's Fighter's Destiny 2 has a -not- Dennis Rodman character named D Dog who wears a pink thong over his tights... 🤢 Btw while Force Five was cancelled, some relatively unknown publisher back in the day bought its assets, redesigned the game giving a completely different roster and named it Jingu Storm and that came out in arcades although very rare.

Anyway, great video as always! Great collection of games too - a nice mix of 2D and 3D and genuinely some surprises to see. I'm a huge fight fan and I have never heard of Chainsaw Incident! It looked awesome too.
You're so right about Naruto UNS! That would be the ideal template for a good Marvel arena brawler.
What the hell, chainsaw incident looks like it would have been awesome. Only 25000 and it didn't happen...! What the hell!
Yeah, looks fantastic! 😢
If the chainsaw incident became popular maybe chainsawman will be dlc
Maybe!
That’s what I wish marvel rivals was instead of a hero shooter.
Absolutely.
Clay fighters was the shit back on the 64. Lot of good memories playing with my siblings and my parents.
I never really played that version, although loved it on SNES BITD.
Shame the PC-FX didn't come with the 3D card they released for DOS.
Indeed!
@@onaretrotip Could of imagined some early 3D arcade ports like Winning Run working alright on it, maybe even better!
1:45 is that a...shirtless Gene Hackman in the background? 😳
Yes.
@@onaretrotip may God have mercy on us all.
@@ens0246 Gene Hackman is your God now.

Yeah that digitised style was all the rage, and one of the reasons I loved Mortal Kombat (although that love hasn't stood the test of time).
I played Eye of the Typhoon on DOS a few years ago and the game blew me away, it was WAY BETTER than Fight Fever (which was mid at best), and a Neo Geo version using the G I G A P O W E R would be awesome.
Yeah, pretty impressive for DOS isn't it!
To be honest
These games look so cool!
I Like the chainsaw incident, burning fist, fatal noise, capcom fighting allstars, global kumite, marvel chaos, clay fighter 3DS game and PS1.
Who agree with me? Which one of the games would you want to play.
Chainsaw Incident has gorgeous graphics, but I think I'd most like to play Capcom Fighting All-Stars.
@@onaretrotip same. They’re all great games. Shame some of them were cancelled or scrapped
Marvel Chaos reminds me of EA's Marvel Nemesis: Rise of the Imperfects which came out on PS2/Xbox/PSP/DS but had smaller sized arena backgrounds
@@budgiecat9039your right it dose. It would probably be like that game but with more open stage, more characters and more fighting styles.
@@nathanblevins158 I usually played the PSP version of that game because unlike the main version you could unlock Doctor Doom
The idea of a magic the gathering inspired versus game sounds so cool
Yeah, surprised more stuff like that doesn't exist TBH.
@@onaretrotipPS1 did have an Advanced Dungeons & Dragons fighting game though which this game reminded me of.
This tickles my fancy
😍
Rise of the Robots; a game born from a gimmick and marketing execs.
Indeed.
Better robot fighting games than Rise of the Robots:
Wing Gundam: Endless Duel (SNES)
Gundam Battle Assault 2 (PS1)
Gundam EX Revue (arcade)
Megatudo 2096 (PS1)
Virtual On series (arcade, Saturn, DC)
Real Robots Final Attack (PS1)
Tech Romancer (Dreamcast)
Cyberbots (arcade/PS1/Saturn)
@@budgiecat9039 appreciate the list but how about we just say, “all other robot fighting games”? 😏

Of course it’s going to look rough it’s unfinished game.
In my experience, having covered hundreds of cancelled games, that's not necessarily true at all.

Tekken X Streetfighter 2 Tekken graphics.
It's not a complete list (as stated at the start of the video). None of the videos in this series are.
@@onaretrotip Yeah but it woulda been nice if you had included those. Especially Fighting Bujitsu as that woulda been interesting to discuss.
At least the few but rare actual arcade footage videos run well...hmm
As far as Konami, they ended up making another 3D fighter which was released to the first PlayStation at the end of 1998 it was called Kensei: Sacred Fist, and it's a pretty underrated fighter. It even has a -not- Steven Seagal character in it named Douglas.
Just like how N64's Fighter's Destiny 2 has a -not- Dennis Rodman character named D Dog who wears a pink thong over his tights... 🤢
Btw while Force Five was cancelled, some relatively unknown publisher back in the day bought its assets, redesigned the game giving a completely different roster and named it Jingu Storm and that came out in arcades although very rare.
@budgiecat9039 It was written mamy years ago, but yeah I'm sure they were around if I'd looked hard enough.
Do you have any links that might give info on Fighting Bujutsu being cancelled please? Every source I can find indicates it was released.
Eye of thyphon was released!
I know, I say that in the video. Wasn't released in arcades though.
How would you know have ever played it? I highly doubt it so don’t judge something you’ve never played.
To which game are you referring?
Nah, all of them are crappy, except CVS3.
🤷♀️
@@onaretrotip Capcom Fighters All-Stars is the only good game here.
@@SalvationTenshi In your opinion.
@@onaretrotip Yes, at least in my opinion.

Yeah, decent.
The justice league game getting canceled is an utter atrocitie.
