@@MichaelBuilds Hey man, i love your videos! I've been a mason for tHiRty yEaRs!! Nah, jk... about 20. Lol Question... I'm going to pour my kitchen countertops and your videos have inspired some really cool ideas.. but I'm curious? Why don't you use the Cement All for countertops? Why the Mortar Mix instead of the Cement all? That Cement all looks REALLY smooth is all, and isn't it actually stronger than the Mortar Mix? Hope you respond. Thanks man.
I used a little bit of that and I mixed it in a plastic cup. There was about a quarter inch left when I was done and I just let it dry. When I took it out of the plastic cup it was so smooth and shiny. It filled all the tiny indentations of the cup perfectly.
So awesome. Yep, I'm working on steps and I couldn't understand why they just aren't good enough to walk on. I know I needed to seal them BUT they just don't seem strong enough for steps that we'll be walking on to enter the basement from outside. Now I know that I'm going to do a coat with Cement-All before I seal them AND I have to so our front steps; which I haven't even gotten to yet But now I've got my answer as to what I want to use and how I'm going to use it. THANK YOU, MICHAEL, FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART. ps: I also want a bird bath to put not too far or too close to our bird feeders right outside our Kitchen window where we can enjoy watching them do their little bird things, fight and just them many different kinds of birds that come to enjoy our different bird feeders. pss: I'd love to do a mail box too. I'm going to go see if you've made one. If not, can I make that request that you do a mailbox out of bricks, stones and/or even just concrete. Thanks again.
For us newbies, could you explain the difference between when to use parging mix, mortar or concrete when doing repairs on concrete steps, etc…? Great videos. Thanks!
Great video If you are doing any type of flat work or forms with the Cement All you will want the flowcontrol packets. They work magic with this stuff. We use it when temps are higher than 45F.
Great video! I was wondering why the cement you used to fill the gap on the side of the stairs was thicker than the top coat used on the stairs...... what’s the ratio for the thicker cement?
I'm gonna need you to come back and make more videos. I've been here since you started your channel and I freaking love your content! COME HOME, MICHAEL..COME HOME! lol
funny we have a friend with a commercial building in Ft. Myers Florida and he occupies the Restaurant there and was wanting to do a commercial handicap ramp out of the front door as its about 2" up. sent this to him earlier and he's excited to try out the Rapid Set to make a ramp out of his front doors.
to take this birdbath one stop further... Run a pipe up the middle of the pedal stool and basin. Set the pedal stool in a water basin andd a pump you have fountain bird bath.
I'm going to do a bunch of small concrete projects. Watching you mix in a 5 gallon bucket, I decided to get the Harbor Freight 3.5 cu ft mixer. Pretty low cost for the labor it should save.
My birdbath came with a convenient hump on top of the base and a matching dip in the center of the bath part. That looks like it would be simple to modify and build into Paul's forms using a Solo cup.
Glad to see you back at it making absolutely amazing project videos for us fans and adding to our tool belts and giving us the amazing ideas that are all thanks to you the Rapid Set Man !!!!
I really enjoy watching all your videos especially the cement all. You have made my fear of working with cement much more manageable. I thank you and hope to see more cement all projects.
Loved the project but would have loved to see a drain hole in the lowest part of the birdbath for winters in the colder parts of the country where it gets frozen and crackes the bird bath this has happened many times with me here in zone 7 you could seal up the hole in summer with pure silicone and pop out in winter, but great video.
You have a lot of energy❤! You bring so much excitement to your projects, I can only imagine you in person😅. But I love it, you keep my attention and that matters! 😊 I think I may have a project I can use that for.
Hi mike haven't tuned in lately..but as always you never disappoint..I especially like this video because this is the exact project I was hoping to tackle this year ..just couldn't get there you always make it seem sooo easy ..but nothing is never easy for me 🙄..thanks for another great project ❤️
All your videos make me want to built stuff, I have the box of rapid set cement all, black color, & flow control.... now just thinking of what to build 🤔 🤔 thank you for the content 🌸🌺
Sarah’s back at it again watchin my vids hehehe 😝. Thank you so much Sarah! That’s what this channel is all about. Makin you want to build stuff!!! 👍🏻☺️😎
Thanks for the video . My next project is a concrete water fall edge bath tube. I was wondering if the concrete would work in a mold without being able to water it and if it would get to hot. Now I know. 👍
Did you try and build any slope into the tread? Spalling like that is usually from water puddling and freeze/thaw cycles. 1/4” across the depth of the tread is plenty.
Hi, Michael. This is the second of your videos that I've watched. I'm learning so much, love the way you explain things in plain, simple terms, and presented in such a fun style. BTW, I LOVE your Dad's GTX!! I'd really like to try the Cement All to repair my 6 front steps. They're almost 68 years old (same as me, I was born in this house) and in about the same condition as I am -- pretty darned cracked, deeply broken/chipped off in places and badly damaged/weathered from rock salt and time. Unlike the steps in your video, most of the damage to my steps is along the edges (I think you called them the "bull noses"?) -- the rounded edges of each step. Big chunks are broken off on several of the steps, some on the corners but most of the damaged "noses" right in the middle of the steps, right where you walk. The steps you repaired, while greatly worn on top, showed no breakage along the bull noses. Can you tell me how to get the Cement All to make a good bond to the remainder of the original steps and to form proper rounded edging on each step in a way that will really last over time? I think someone I spoke to at some point mentioned something about using tapping screws?? Huh??? In July, 2019, I paid a guy $200 (which I really didn't have - no groceries that month) to repair the same steps and by that September, they were already breaking apart again. (I think he did as little as possible to make it look like he at least had done something.... he was here and gone in under 30 minutes, no exaggeration! He showed up 2 1/2 hours late, announced he was in a hurry, leaving for the shore!) Now they're in even worse shape than before he started. Wish I could send you my before and after photos of the ********* job he did! I was completely appalled but was intimidated by his demeanor and was afraid to balk about the quality of the job or the payment he demanded. (Also, my special needs brother with DS was in a hospital bed right here in the living room, just home from the hospital post-surgery and I was caring for him 24/7. I had to concentrate on him and didn't want to upset him by starting any dispute with this contractor or let him hear any drama concerning this matter. He already had enough to deal with.) So, here I am, back to Square One, needing to do this myself ASAP before the steps get even worse, and with the fall/winter snow and ice season approaching. Anyway, can you tell or show me the proper way to repair these badly chipped bull noses so that they really, REALLY hold for years, not just weeks or months? Thanks for whatever tips you can send my way, and again, for producing such informative and fun videos! God bless you, Stay Safe and Well! [ BTW, I already have a bird bath, but it's pitting, so with inspiration from this video, I'm going to use Cement All to repair it.]
Yes this is all non toxic material and the Flow Control makes the concrete more liquid like without adding more water. More water added to concrete makes the concrete weaker. Thank you so much for watching my videos! ☺️
Love the video.. learnt about the flow control... which makes sense.. my cement would crack up... perhaps due to too much water and not keeping it moist... will repair the steps now... I have a question.. the basement flooring is way too bad.. and lot of holes , dimples and not smooth at all will this rapid cement do the job of smoothening it out?? Thankyou in advance
WOW you make it look so easy and I mean really LOOKS easy.. I will give this a try as my house foundation needs touch up badly. Bird bath? Sure would love to make one but the mold is $119!!!!
I have a house from the 60's w a broken step and ancient paint mostly peeled off and I'd like to figure out how to refinish the surface to look new. Would I use a grinder, as if sanding wood, or how would I go about "scrubbing" the surface layer of cement to get it cleaned and ready to apply a new surface ?
I just found your videos and I was laughing at the bush. I just did my front porch and I bungee corded mine out of the way. Great videos, you got a sub from me!
If you have a little extra money you can alter your work environment to accommodate any physical deficiencies you may have or need to avoid. The trick is using effective thought, planning and execution. Conquer it one step at a time. Write each step down on a pad and change parts according to what better components you can find. An example would be a electric hoist instead of a manual pulley device. Shop at stores like harbor freight or Amazon. If you are ordering on Amazon, become a Prime member to get the free 2/3 day delivery. Your first delivery will pay for the membership and you can cancel anytime. Don’t get in a hurry. Think things thru. I’m old also but I adapt and overcome just like you can. You’ll be surprised at what you can accomplish. Good Luck 👍.
Unfortunately no but I do know that rapid set has a brand new Ashfalt resurfacer that comes in a 25 pound box. It’s only available in a handful of Home Depot‘s across America but you might be able to get with the pro desk in order some.
I don't even have a place to put a birdbath, but I went looking for the molds anyway. LOL
Lol 😝

I love how you tell us how to do it and yet make it simple enough for people who don’t use cement much be able to do these great repairs
By far, you are my concrete go to guy. Thanks
Omg you’re a life saver ! I can now afford to fix my house up 😉🤗
I just wanna say that, YOU ARE THE MAN!!!
I am? Haha
That is a great product I did my stairs last spring and it worked perfectly.
My wife and I will be building a dinning room table using your countertop method and a wood base...I'm excited...
I'm not kidding when i say your videos are really the most entertaining. I'm not even interested in concrete or working on houses.
The stairs look brand new and that bird bath is awesome!
‘Saw 1 video and subbed immediately. This is the second show and the beginning of a wonderful binge-watching adventure.😊

AWWWWWW! Thank you so much! 👍🏻☺️
Thanks for sharing. What's the difference/benefits of this vs NewCrete?
going to definitely try rapid mix set on the driveway...✌🍺🍺thanks
Oh man!! I'm loving this stuff. I have cement stone steps that are crumbling. ugh
Love the birdbath

I am in a hot summer, cold winter weather zone. How long until those steps start spalling and how would I prevent it from starting to happen?

Love your videos! I wish you would use other products that are less costly to compare.
Like the way the stairs turned out. How well does cementall hold up to salt? My stairs are slowly deteriorating.
Was thinking the same thing .
Love it. But how/where do you wash out the buckets and paddles w/o clogging drains or leaving concrete water in your lawn?
All your videos make me want to built stuff, I have the box of rapid set cement all, black color, & flow control.... now just thinking of what to build 🤔 🤔 thank you for the content 🌸🌺

Great music too
Good to know you can use that flow control stuff with this. I was wondering about that.
I guess this would work on my sidewalk as well. Might have to try
I'm so buying this mold
Can I use this to fix concrete cracks? Thank you
Yes you can ☺️
Dude good job man that's awesome that's beautiful work I love it
Hey Michael!
You mentioned there being other birdbath molds online. Any chance you might share all the ones you know of. Thanks so much!
Hi from your northern neighbours, another great video, where can you get molds like your using?
Glad your back making videos, I've gotta try this stuff. Can you do it in cold climates?
Awesome!! Thanks for sharing 👍 😊

I would have placed a 3" or 4" wood dowel or couple of 2x4's down the center to lighten it up some for e-z moving.
What is this "Flow packet?" What is the purpose of it and is it sold in the cement aisle? Thank you. LOVE your videos!! So incredibly helpful!

Which one would work best for a fire box?
Concrete guru, please help out with the current dumbbell shortage. Can you show how you would make concrete dumbbells?
I wonder if a counter top would look better with the cement all over the Rapid set mortar mix?
I definitely love it when i get notified you put out another video, i love all the diy stuff!
You’re my concrete guy so I always check out your page first. Do you have, or can you do a DIY on leveling a garage concrete slab?
Your good.

Awesome birdbath!!

Great Video, had an question though do i need to add flow for making small statues typical which is around 14 inches in height and 4 inches in width
Your videos are so informative and awesome to watch!
Hey! MICHAEL!!!🤩
Hi Marie!!! I’m trying to do better at getting you more content hehe 😉 ☺️😂🥰
@@MichaelBuilds I love all of your projects! The birdbath mold project is something that I could actually do! Awesome! ❤
Can you show a bird bath being made out of snow sleds like the saucers? Especially since so many get tossed out at or along snow play areas.
Subbed love how down to earth you are .
Pretty cool now you just need to make a concrete step for yr shed😁
My problem is I’m too old to do heavy lifting sigh. That’s me chasing screws but I rarely find them all. As always well done!

I love your Videos! How cute is that birdbath!
Thank you so much! ☺️👍🏻

Great work brother, I absolutely love your videos!!!!
Just wondering if you can change the color...
