@@MichaelBuilds Hey man, i love your videos!
I've been a mason for tHiRty yEaRs!!
      Nah, jk... about 20. Lol
Question... I'm going to pour my kitchen countertops and your videos have inspired some really cool ideas.. but I'm curious? Why don't you use the Cement All for countertops?
Why the Mortar Mix instead of the Cement all?
That Cement all looks REALLY smooth is all, and isn't it actually stronger than the Mortar Mix?
      Hope you respond. Thanks man.

So awesome. Yep, I'm working on steps and I couldn't understand why they just aren't good enough to walk on. I know I needed to seal them BUT they just don't seem strong enough for steps that we'll be walking on to enter the basement from outside. Now I know that I'm going to do a coat with Cement-All before I seal them AND I have to so our front steps; which I haven't even gotten to yet But now I've got my answer as to what I want to use and how I'm going to use it. THANK YOU, MICHAEL, FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART.
ps: I also want a bird bath to put not too far or too close to our bird feeders right outside our Kitchen window where we can enjoy watching them do their little bird things, fight and just them many different kinds of birds that come to enjoy our different bird feeders.
pss: I'd love to do a mail box too. I'm going to go see if you've made one. If not, can I make that request that you do a mailbox out of bricks, stones and/or even just concrete. Thanks again.

I used a little bit of that and I mixed it in a plastic cup. There was about a quarter inch left when I was done and I just let it dry. When I took it out of the plastic cup it was so smooth and shiny. It filled all the tiny indentations of the cup perfectly.

I have a house from the 60's w a broken step and ancient paint mostly peeled off and I'd like to figure out how to refinish the surface to look new. Would I use a grinder, as if sanding wood, or how would I go about "scrubbing" the surface layer of cement to get it cleaned and ready to apply a new surface ?

Loved the project but would have loved to see a drain hole in the lowest part of the birdbath for winters in the colder parts of the country where it gets frozen and crackes the bird bath this has happened many times with me here in zone 7 you could seal up the hole in summer with pure silicone and pop out in winter, but great video.

My birdbath came with a convenient hump on top of the base and a matching dip in the center of the bath part. That looks like it would be simple to modify and build into Paul's forms using a Solo cup.

You made the bird bath project look super easy. Please, please make a couple videos on fountains. I know you are the fun macho construction guru but I dare you to come up with a couple better cement fountain ideas than the current wave of silly youtube videos made in India/Asia who collect a million views easy. There are enough of us passionate gardeners especially during Covid who'd love to make their own fountains. Have you seen the prices on a nice fountain that will last? hundreds of dollars. There has to be a way to make different versions and designs of fountains at a reasonable price. Maybe include at least one version using perlite in your mix so us older or challenged folks can still lift and put together the pieces of a simple three-tier fountain.
Thanks for the video - here's to hoping that you are up to the challenge:).
