Juliett mentioned below but Mike Haddock’s trick is also to save all the dust and debris from where you cleaned out the cracks (not the big stuff) and sprinkle onto the new surface before it dries. Otherwise, it will always be lighter in color.
I personally want to thank you. I just bought a house and the garage floor is nasty to say the least. I think this product and your information helps lots. Thank you! :)
Michael, you’re the best! I’m so happy you screwed up that pad because you now have schooled me on the repairs. My first project this spring is to repair a badly cracked & chipped sidewalk just outside of my back door. And then the bonus tip for making a cinder block wall attractive is gold. When you showed different ways to finish those sample walls last year was a bit intimidating for this novice. But tossing balls? THAT I can do. Let me know if your neighbor’s house goes up for sale ‘cuz I’ll be moving in. 😃
Excellent video for diying repairs to cracked concrete. For the slight mismatch in the final overall concrete color on the slab, Mike Haduck's "dirt trick" should work. You basically rub or brush on a bit of the surrounding dirt from the ground surrounding the slab. This helps to blend the new with the existing.
Awesome. Doing rock texture on a bathroom-cave I made, I had really good results vigorously wet brushing back and forth with a chip brush when it was about half-hard. Kinda like how painters do dry brushing. It gave it a really smooth and weathered rock sort of look. Wish I had known about the cement-all at the time, that would have been very helpful.
Just followed the channel, have a concrete drive and I think I am going to attempt to patch cracks rather than get a new driveway done. Thanks for the heads up on the product.
Great job man! I have a concrete slab for my shed. Much of the exposed surface flaked or spalled off and it looks terrible. I am going to try this stuff like a spackle coating to repair it. I hate spackling lol.
Michael, your videos are the best DIY videos on UA-cam! Whoever is behind the production needs a raise! Just kidding, you probably handle all that. Anyways…. I haven’t watched a video that I didn’t truly enjoy and want to get out of my wheelchair and get to work! Love your videos, keep them coming!
My wife loves the concrete counter tops you inspired me to build. I appreciate it. This was a great video and an awesome use of a giant screw up in the last vid.😂😂
Another awesome video. I plan on using this method to fix up my so so dry pour slab attempt. Had a really rough time getting the edging to look good, but had way too much rock I couldn't get rid of.
I did this years ago on a crack in my driveway with this product. Did it correctly and it popped right out of the crack within a few months. And this is where I didn't even drive on it.
I really want to try this dry pour, I'm up in north not all the way up but considered to be from up north, I want to do this in a fairly small area that will not have a lot of traffic, mainly I will be the one from time to time walking in this area, I have a bad back and having to carry bags and mixing this , definitely will be bad for me , so think the dry for would definitely be better . changing of the seasons does worry me a bit , I would also probably lay down a foundation for it possibly some small rebar. what you think
Michael, I have a few areas of block wall where the mortar between bricks has decayed or come loose. Have you done a video on how to repair an existing block wall using a Rapidset product? I'd like to see which product version works best and a how-to.
In this particular video I kind of touch on that subject @ time stamp 9:02 ua-cam.com/video/_ENw-WC5-eE/v-deo.html But I wouldn’t call it a how-to video on the matter haha. But Rapid Set Mortar Mix is great for that. I’m sorry I couldn’t help more.
im going to have to try that cement-all. I have to patch up my steps. I see Home Depot has it up here in pa. 25$ for a 55lb bag. Looks nice, easy to work with too.
To all of you who are hating trolls if you think you can do better then make your own video. There are many ways to do things. To note what tools should or shouldn't be used is stupid. Because before all of this new technology. What did the first inventors and craftsmen use. You should be grateful today that Trades and crafts people are willing to put out the knowledge. The point is even so called Experts make mistakes. I doubt that you armchair craftsmen know anything about the Trade. People who make content are happy doing what they do. Why don't you haters go and do something you are happy doing.
Excellent video! Could you thin it and do a skim coat after patching is done if you're patching a larger area? ( like if the whole pad needed touch up on the surface)
Well the wife has stated that she would like the garage floor redone and there are a few cracks here and there that need some care. Looks like I’ll be using this here soon. Question is if you know how this holds up with a garage floor epoxy? Oh and you know someone who is good with concrete who could help 🤔.
Question the inside of my fireplace I think it’s cement plates the wall one of them cracked so I mix the mortar mix rapid set,And I filled the cracks is that gonna hold do you know?
I need to reface a concrete wall and a block corner post. Is it necessary to put mechanical fasteners like screws and masonary lathe before repair and is cement all the best product or the mortar or the cement? Also what product to use to recolor the whole thing to make it all match, paint stain???
I want to make a concrete water fountain that goes in the wall, with an arch and a lion’s head spitting out water into a basin. How would you go about making that?❤
The proper way would be to chase the crack with a grinder to widen. Then pour epoxy crack repair material to remove the weak bonding and repair the structural strength to the slab
I'm anxious to see the 30 days after the dry pour but you've verd way off a bit.... for one, you took off the frame way too early which means you created the scaling/flaking off your own doing. 2nd because of that error you now have to repair....hence this vid.... So please redo another dry pour and be patient.... good vids👍👍👍✅️
I live in a berm house and my entire downstairs which consists of my kitchen, dining and living rooms are all cement block wall. I understand the reasoning behind building with cement block but I do not like it. I have to say though, that this video gives me ideas and might make me dislike cement block a little less. I Really like the "rock" wall at the end.
So I just tried to repair some cracks, spalling, and holes in my concrete floor with cement all, and after 48 hours, it rubbed off with just my hand. This happened even in places where I laid it 1/2 in thick or more. I've never had this problem before, and I don't know if it's because of the tiny amount of set control I used or what. Pretty disappointing.
I’ve never had that happen but the most common causes for that kind of failure is either the substrate was not prepped properly, too much water was mixed in the Cement All or it was re-tempered too much.
My driveway has lost alot of the cement on the surface and the aggregate is exposed making it very rough! Working on my 71 challenger is hard on the knees and hands. Would this be an option to recoat it? I'd love to have an easy way to make it look and function better
Love a Raipd Set Products even for setting post for fences, ya JUST GOTTA KNOW HOW TO ORK WITH, b/c can get into trouble quickly like down her in Florida in summer cuz it kicks FAST and rapid set thought of this and can buy the retarder and other add-ins….. Love that brand👍🏻
What if you needed to extend that pad by 4" to a foot for example, would mortar be the best option ? Oh do I have to take a sledge hammer to smash the pad, which is smaller than the one in this video, then start over with fresh cement ?
Because any amount of movement in the slab will cause cement patch to crack again. That's why a flexible sealant (polyurea or polyurethane) is preferred over a cement patch.
I would think that you would want to get the dry pour as wet as possible the first time without turning it to mud because everytime you spray it, it's not going to be able to take the water because of setting up. But that's just me
Juliett mentioned below but Mike Haddock’s trick is also to save all the dust and debris from where you cleaned out the cracks (not the big stuff) and sprinkle onto the new surface before it dries. Otherwise, it will always be lighter in color.
Thanks for the shout out Mike!!! Great job on the video. Looks like your comments are full of great ideas and questions
I personally want to thank you.
I just bought a house and the garage floor is nasty to say the least. I think this product and your information helps lots. Thank you! :)
I personally want to thank you for watch my video ☺️
Thank you. Super helpful for those of us in older homes where the concrete is starting to deteriorate.
Michael, you’re the best! I’m so happy you screwed up that pad because you now have schooled me on the repairs. Love this series!
ep 1: "How to dry pour concrete"
ep 2: "How to fix cracks in concrete"
😆
ep 3. How to smash up old dry pour slab.
ep 4. How to pour wet mix slab.
ep 5. Lol
Awesome. Doing rock texture on a bathroom-cave I made, I had really good results vigorously wet brushing back and forth with a chip brush when it was about half-hard. Kinda like how painters do dry brushing. It gave it a really smooth and weathered rock sort of look.

That last rock shape, sooo creative. Love it. Not hard to do and I might try it.
AWWWWWW! Thank you SO MUCH CHANTEL!!!! Probably the sweetest comment I’ve ever received! 🥰☺️🥰☺️
My wife loves the concrete counter tops you inspired me to build. I appreciate it.
This was a great video and an awesome use of a giant screw up in the last vid.😂😂
Waste not, want not haha
Thanks so much to you and to Cement All for such a fun, informative video... I learned a new word today- parge!
Another awesome video. I plan on using this method to fix up my so so dry pour slab attempt. Had a really rough time getting the edging to look good, but had way too much rock I couldn't get rid of.
Oh my goodness, I just saw a wall like this at a restaurant I went too and I wondered how the heck it was done and if I could do it too. Awesome.
No wonder my repair’s sucked. Nothing stayed put. I should have found this 1st. Very helpful.
You are awesome, Michael. Keep up the great work!
Thank you Jonathon! I will!
Can I use this stuff to repair cracks in my garage floor
Heeeey Michael! I'm first today! Lol,
Dude! I'm TOTALLY doing that bonus Cement All trick to my fire place!!!❤
Lol
Hell yeah! It’s just as fun as it look too!
Awesome video. I learned a couple new things with this!
Yeah, can't wait to see the end results of the dry pour!!
Great teaching video thx Could you skim coat the rest of the walkway square you repaired? And would that thin layer adhere?
I just asked the same question, was wondering if that would work
So glad the bucket scrapper is back, it was starting to feel like a middle child.😅
Lol 😂
I did this years ago on a crack in my driveway with this product. Did it correctly and it popped right out of the crack within a few months. And this is where I didn't even drive on it.
I bought a bucket scraper and haven’t used it yet. But I did so in anticipation of being productive.
Between you and Nick from Project Portugal I may one day be able to pull off concrete and block work.
Excellent work Michael! Will Cement All adhere to pressure treated wood? Just curious... 👍👍
Cool video.
I use Cement All to make Concrete Candle Vessels.
Nice video. Just what I needed! TYVM
Brilliant job mate
I wonder if cementall will blend with stucco on the side of a block house. Block has been cleaned with a grinder.
The rapidset channel😊
Nice job. I have two cracks to patch.👍🏻

When will the big bucket scraper company give us the official Michael Builds’ Scraper!❤
Right?!? Where are these guys?! Lol
im going to have to try that cement-all. I have to patch up my steps.
I see Home Depot has it up here in pa. 25$ for a 55lb bag. Looks nice, easy to work with too.

I find that if you wet the trowels it helps with smoothing and blending
Excellent video!
Could you thin it and do a skim coat after patching is done if you're patching a larger area? ( like if the whole pad needed touch up on the surface)
Nice video. Will Cement All last longer than hydraulic cement on a pitted garage floor?
You make it look so ez.😮
Hey Michael, do you think you can stamp a dry poured concrete pad? Take it up a notch.
Mike can I use this to fix the cracks in my driveway instead of using the stuff out of tubes?
Hey Mike great video!
Can Cement All also be used on spalding & pitting on a sidewalk Square?
Absolutely!
Well the wife has stated that she would like the garage floor redone and there are a few cracks here and there that need some care. Looks like I’ll be using this here soon. Question is if you know how this holds up with a garage floor epoxy? Oh and you know someone who is good with concrete who could help 🤔.
Can you recommend any repair for exposed aggregate crack?
Question the inside of my fireplace I think it’s cement plates the wall one of them cracked so I mix the mortar mix rapid set,And I filled the cracks is that gonna hold do you know?
Can you use this product to skim coat a porch?
Serious question:
Will this work on an old 1912 stacked stone basement better than just regular concrete?
(The lumber is still old rough cut)
Nice job
Thank you!
I need to reface a concrete wall and a block corner post. Is it necessary to put mechanical fasteners like screws and masonary lathe before repair and is cement all the best product or the mortar or the cement? Also what product to use to recolor the whole thing to make it all match, paint stain???
Can you use this cement to repair pools?.
Can you put resurfacing over the patch?
Lol that’s crazy because I’m releasing a video TOMORROW about putting resurfacer on that patch haha.
Will it adhere to asphalt?
What happens to the bucket afterwards. Is it trashed?
Hi, what paint do you recommend please?
Can I motar over painted cinder block or do I need to sand blast first?
Great two vids on this. Like to see if the Rapidset could be done this way.
Can't wait for some strength tests.
I want to make a concrete water fountain that goes in the wall, with an arch and a lion’s head spitting out water into a basin. How would you go about making that?❤
I have painted concrete steps...how to i remove the paint to make sure i get a good bond?
Have you worked with terrazzo?
The proper way would be to chase the crack with a grinder to widen. Then pour epoxy crack repair material to remove the weak bonding and repair the structural strength to the slab
How would rapid set cement all work for a concrete countertop?
Can you do a dry pour test using cement all ????????
can you use this for cracks on a block house that has long settling cracks
Absolutely!
Mike, I have a retaining wall with a two inch crack will this work on it ?
"and the best part is... Nooo professionals!" - Michael "Dauber" Dabinski
Can the rapid set cement all be dry poured as well?
Can you use that to point an old rock wall?
Absolutely! 👍🏻
What about expansion? Is this still the right stuff??
I'm anxious to see the 30 days after the dry pour but you've verd way off a bit.... for one, you took off the frame way too early which means you created the scaling/flaking off your own doing.
2nd because of that error you now have to repair....hence this vid....
So please redo another dry pour and be patient.... good vids👍👍👍✅️
I can dig it.
Just had some concrete work done and there's hairline cracks in it. How can I fix them? Thanks
What if you wanted to apply a thin layer of cement all to the rest of the pad to make it match ?
What’s a good stain to apply?
Does this include foundation in home?
I live in a berm house and my entire downstairs which consists of my kitchen, dining and living rooms are all cement block wall. I understand the reasoning behind building with cement block but I do not like it. I have to say though, that this video gives me ideas and might make me dislike cement block a little less. you would seal it with water repellant if you want to take one step further.
Think you can use in a shower for walls ?
So I just tried to repair some cracks, spalling, and holes in my concrete floor with cement all, and after 48 hours, it rubbed off with just my hand. That slug? seems to have appreciated your skill. 7:42-7:47
I NEVER NOTICED! 🤣 I had to go back to see it for myself LOL. I’m so glad you pointed that out Greg haha 😆
Wonder if this type of cement would be good for a dry pour.
Dry pour is for lazy folks
Great video as always but my knees hurt just watching you..
He's got calloused knees
So it is a stronger stucco?
How can you renew old concrete to get rid of dimples and super wear and tear
My driveway has lost alot of the cement on the surface and the aggregate is exposed making it very rough! Working on my 71 challenger is hard on the knees and hands. Would this be an option to recoat it? I'd love to have an easy way to make it look and function better
And the challenger is just an example! Lol! Or is it?😅
Cool. Ty
Could you make a rock climbing wall with that cemental?
So this will be the best solution to pour over existing concrete
Did you drive your truck on it yet?
Love a Raipd Set Products even for setting post for fences, ya JUST GOTTA KNOW HOW TO ORK WITH, b/c can get into trouble quickly like down her in Florida in summer cuz it kicks FAST and rapid set thought of this and can buy the retarder and other add-ins…..
Love that brand👍🏻
@Michael how do i becom a patreon?
What if you needed to extend that pad by 4" to a foot for example, would mortar be the best option ? Oh do I have to take a sledge hammer to smash the pad, which is smaller than the one in this video, then start over with fresh cement ?
Start over. Joints are your nemesis when it comes to very tiny concrete areas like yours. Best to remove the old and pour all new.
How does Cement All hold up to heat? I have a fire pit made of cement blocks and thought about coating to make it look nicer. Great video as always!!
Is that a thin blue line tattoo? Hats off to you if it is
Unfortunately, this takes a combination of talent and artistic ability. Of which, I have neither. But this looks great
Usually you'd want to put on a concrete bonding agent first.
Why do people use sealant to manage concrete cracks (rather than concrete/cement based products?)
