not too overboard i think, I recall quite a few videos of Chef Ramsey constantly telling people to taste their dishes every time. They don't show it that much on the show with him doing it because of editing, but you always want to taste your dishes every step of the way when you can.

Ya, cod ends up a little more grey while halibut is nice and white. Depending on the lightning it could easily be missed.

@@runsoncaffeine i see your point but unfortunately, it is. The whole competition is for head chef, not best chef. Quality control is a key skill for a head chef. I mean would you want to hire someone who cant tell the difference between lobster/crab, mussels/clams, cod/halibut etc
@@mudyao yeah that’s true. I think that the show just kind of misleads the audience and the chefs, since they basically want someone who can run a team rather than the best cook.

I meant the contestants specifically. I'm aware his chefs will throw curve balls at them to test them.
Insecurity and immaturity
It's because they don't have the skill, so they have to resort to tricks. A good person learns, rises to the occasion. The rest bring everyone down to make themselves look good by comparison. A great person sees this and still makes it work. Not in every situation, but still...
Only one person got away with not looking dumb with it and that's the guy who inspired Ramsey in the first season, but he didn't do something as simple as forgetting seasoning for every single dish as soon as a new person was put up there.
She was totally sabotaging her and Gordon could smell that from a mile away.

Yes she popped for coke, however before you judge coke is an upper and used to keep people up during long shifts and late nights. When I worked in kitchens we wouldn’t get home sometimes till 2-3am. I’m not condoning her drug use but I’ve seen the best start so they don’t flip and burnout during service.

@@xoyouaremysunshinexo Also of chefs, bartenders, ans waiters work super long house on their feet, with little to no breaks, and chances are that servicing isn't their only job or they're going to school. It's really not surprising when you look at their schedules.

I feel like season 20 was a better version of season 11.
Yes both started off the worst blue team losing 4 challenges in a row but unlike this season 11, chef switched the teams early so the blue team had Megan/Victoria/Emily. While they only won 1 challenge out of the first 6, they won the last 3 which is double what season 11 won. Hell even a blue chef won after 8 seasons, they even got a near perfect 48/50 on the final tasting.
And it may never be revealed, where that magic cod came from

I’ve only seen the first season in full. Did Gordon start doing this “trick during service” thing after the first chef did? Because he didn’t do this season 1.
I'm pretty sure it happens at least once every season at this point. It's always when the black jackets are running the kitchen too
I think Michael in season 1 does an intentional sabotage when one of the other chefs is running the pass and the sabotage works. They must've really liked that idea because they started the intentionally incorrect trick in season 2.

It wasn’t actually her, it was her tongue. But the jacket didn’t fit the tongue so they had to get all of Mary in the kitchen and not just a tongue.
