Coleslaw is a great host
I see staalrs is back as of today! They just uploaded 2 new songs
Algorithm going crazy 4 ya. Dope AF channel man
As an aging emo/core kid, living vicariously through watching Nik over the years is so much fun. Thanks for the enjoyment of music you provide bro.
So nice to see mum and dad getting along ❤
Which is which tho
Finn is clearly the mum
@@hypeman133 I don't know, I see Nik more as the cool mom
I don’t believe this actually happened, this is most definitley AI
Bleep boop
@@FinnMckentyPRMBA 😊😊😊
Nik doesn’t talk to other humans. This is 100% a deep fake
*cyborg sounds incoming*
Every content creator, no matter be it in music or not, should watch this. great thoughts on Sleep Token!! so well done, guys.
Much appreciated! 🙏
GEEBZ! Good to see you here!
@@Aleblood AWWWRIGHT!!
Ofc I watch a podcast of two of my favorite creators in the scene and they're already starting with feet.
As expected XD
@@D_McGeezacks the core scene showcasing their degeneracy once again

and if course it was finn who initiated it lmao
Shout out Roanoke gaming
Nik is the man. Was amazing to work with him after being a fan of his for years. 🔥
Nik is the reason I listen to Spiritbox, Lorna Shore, Sleep Token, Ice Nine Kills and Electric Callboy. All of those bands are on my list to go and see when they tour nearby and there's very little chance I'd have discovered them without Nik's reactions. Such a great creator who is helping to push metal to a wider audience 🤘
Seeing Nik's take on Knocked Loose at Coachella made me instantly think "this is a Finn take." Loving the interaction between creators, and cant wait the future of hardcore and metal (read music) with both of you breaking things down so the rest of us metalheads (read closed minded idiots) can understand.
Same here lol
ah yes those who actually like metal and don't put much value on radio play and playing coachella are idiots.
This is golden. Two of my favorite music creators in one vid. Super solid.
2 of my 4 favorite music youtubers! (shoutout to Jared Dines and Stevie T as well) Thanks for having Nik on Finn!
I dont know how many bands this random 29 yo dude from Spain like me has discovered thanks to both of you ❤
Finn knows Nic is deathly allergic to sunlight. That's why he'd never ask him to do the interview in person. Good job looking out for your boy Finn!
Haha! It definitely has to be the eyes 😆
@@metalshark41 That Emma Chamberlin eyeshadow... or poor guy needs to get some sleep.
How does Nik with his aversion to sunlight look more tanned than Finn then 🤣🤣
Only time he goes out in the sun is when he's channeling his inner crab chakra.
@@loganpriest6029 There's only so many colored rooms and abandoned warehouses to djent in. Might as well bring back the grassy fields like it's 2010!
Nik is like having a cool younger brother, who's better at guitar than I'll ever be. Finn is like my slightly younger brother, who's still better at guitar than me.
nik introduced so many bands to me, i owe him half my current music taste lol
Finn and Nik together again? 😃 this is awesome, thank you!
edited to add: i really appreciate the discussion about maintaining your privacy while being a public figure. maybe it’s just my age (being firmly genX) but we used to have to seek out magazines and mtv and shit to learn anything about people in the public sphere. now everything is so instant and pervasive that people expect you to share everything, and that’s not healthy or safe for y’all. i choose to not seek out the minutia, and i’m 100% okay with y’all not sharing shit that should be for you and yours alone. if people want to share, ok then. but there shouldn’t be pressure to do so. stalkers and haters exist and your mental health is important. i’d rather have my favorite youtubers safe and happy 🤷🏼♀️
the cross over we didn't deserve. Legends.
Really the only 2 content creators I pay any attention to in the punk/metal world so this is awesome
@40:55 hit the nail on the head. You can feed any genre through the medium of metal once you have a good enough grasp of what the real essence of that particular genre is.
Hey, thanks guys. How to say this without sounding like a dbag, I don't think it's possible... I've been a gallery represented fine artist for just over 13 years. I've always been interested in the creative process in creators of any kind. I love hearing the different approaches people in differing mediums have. It was fascinating hearing that fine line between being relevant, as creating and original while balancing keeping the lights on and bills paid. I think the coolest part is even with the stress, the self created deadlines, the work load, the successes and failures, the struggle of every aspect of everything in being a creator, you're still compelled to create and find a way to continue creating. It's hard for me to really express in words, but it was awesome hearing and connecting on a professional level in an odd way.
Thanks man I appreciate that!
Timing couldn’t be more perfect Finn. Got a 2 hour ride for work. 😭😭😭
Thank you bud!
Thank you for watching!
Can confirm for myself at least that Nik's reaction video to Hypa Hypa got me into Electric Callboy. Never heard of them before and now I love em.
I love Nik!! His guitar content has been so helpful over the years for me and so many others!
Love Nik. He helped me get excited about metal again.
You both are my favorite music related creators this is sick!
I have learned lot from Nik Nocturnal and I have been with his channel for a while. I really love watching him .
Hell yea. My two favorite UA-camrs coming together ! Finn you rock and Nik you kick ass too this is a great collab that I’ve been waiting for a long time! Keep it up boys 🤘🏼😜🤘🏼
Love both of you guys! Great chat!
This is amazing. Two of my fave music content creators. Finn youve gotten some great guests lately.
One of my favorite podcasts. Love both of yall. Dont stop being you. Much love
I think I’ve been watching Nik around a year (I may be way off but it hasn’t been a super long time) and I JUST found out he played guitar a few days ago.
Been watching Nik for awhile and have recently started binge watching your videos so was nice to see a crossover.
Two of my favorite creators in the same video, hell yeah brother!!
I've absolutely heard a ton of new music from reaction channels and Mr. Nocturnal is one of the goats.
Two of my favorite youtube music content creators in the same podcast ❤ though I will admit I only just came across Nik recently which is weird. I wonder if the reaction channel thing is actually going to make its own genre of metal. Ive noticed the same bands and songs getting reacted to over and over. Also as a consumer of this sort of content Im 100% guilty of also using it as a sort of "friend simulator" lol but I dont have any expectations of reciprocation, mostly I started commenting on youtube videos because I heard comments help a channels algorithm and now its just where I come to pretend I can actually socialize 😂.
I didn’t even get passed the ad before I liked the video lol I watch both of you guys daily. Love the content! Always entertaining….PS “hypa hypa you’re pretty and I like ya”
love the harmony of the shirts colours and the backgrounds
Great podcast, love Nik, such a chill and down to earth guy
I think y'all made some great points about having fun while still having an emotional connection. Those two things are not mutually exclusive. I wish more metalheads would realize that. "A good song is a good song. The genre is just the coat of paint you put on it." So, so true!!
This interview has so much great advice on content and music creation. Thank you Finn and Nik!
I’m a day old subscriber to your channel, your video which mentions Burzum was recommended by the algo and it is probably because I was talking s**t about Burzum this very week😂The comments on your channel are just as gold, you seem to have as awesome followers as content. Even if people don’t always agree, it seems you have genuine, earnest and authentic conversations which generates likewise comments. And anyway with social media content, agreement is far less valuable than understanding. Who cares if someone agrees or disagrees in such a context lol what would be the point of that unless you hop online to stroke some wounded ego. Some people never realize this, like, ok-someone agrees with you online…now what…it’s so inconsequential, unfulfilling, scratches a superficial surface of signaling polite niceties, and lacking impact. Most people don’t even understand what they agree with😂I appreciate your contributions to the interwebs space, sir. It’s nice to see two creators I appreciate conversing.
I was hesitant to check out Nik for a long time because I assumed/was afraid that he was just another Metal Bro elitist dickhead. There are a LOT of those guys (it's always guys) on UA-cam and just couldn't bear another one. Then I took the plunge and delightfully discovered that he's just a chill, positive dude who just likes good shit and doesn't feel the need to dump on stuff, metal or not.
Love Nik.
Two of the best streamin dudes on teh interwebz in one vid?
Ferkyeeeerrrr!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 🤘🤘
Great interview as always.
Definitely agree with Nik in regards to Sleep Token. Sleep Token does the diversity of music like the funk or electronic styles with purpose and not for Irony. Whereas other bands failed due to doing these things not for musical purpose but, out of sarcasm or irony.
I started watching his content recently and checked to see if you had done a podcast with him and BAM here it is.
i'm graceful with nik that guy make me like metal sm!
Nik makes metal fun
My two favorite music UA-camrs having a discussion about music. I can die happy.
Haha i love how finn throws in "sleep token" in the title out of everything they talk about. I cant even find it in the time stamps. Trying to get the extra views😂 im glad youre starting to see how big theyre getting since you had your doubts even early this year
Found it though and i love what you guys had to say about them
Its about 25% of the way into the podcast I think. The timestamps are autogenerated
Nik noc's how to metalcore, deathcore etc. Are amazing 👏 🔥🤘
Two great gentlemen. 🎉
Nik is a legend!
Two of my favorites 😍
Shoutout to Norwood
These guys are definetely sisters.
💅🏼
@@FinnMckentyPRMBA damn right I'll take sparkles plz
I really appreciate how Nik is focusing on turning views & number into revenue. However, I think he undervalued it a bit - those "numbers" he gets (follower/subscribers/views for algo) from short-form viral content all translate into more streams, merch buys, and other avenues. If you bridge those two things, THAT IS THE WAY.
Unexpected and super rad interview 😎👍
best crossover ever
my two fav metal content creators
The irony of the discussion of monitization. I have never watched a UA-cam video with more ads than this one. Damn.
What a collab!
Great interview thanks Finn - have loved nik for ages and he’s such an articulate cool guy! Top stuff!
Nik is awesome!
Finn if you lean just a bit more forward you can smell the cologne Nik wears on the back of his neck.
2 of my favs
Nik on prmba? Hell yeah brother
Dammit Finn... I never noticed that you blink alot, now I am totally gonna think about that all the damn time 🤣
UA-camrs can be musicians the drummer for counterparts Kyle Brownlee made rock band drum videos back in the day
This is the most color I have ever seen in Nik's face
Nik and fin. 😭🙏 Thank you lord
Finally this combo
My two men!! Niiice that was hard metal cool!
Finn we can get you a keyboard to play along to reactions with
Awe, you coordinated outfits
My two favorite channels in one video, thought it would never happen to be honest
Now only if Alex Hefner was here we would complete the trinity.
Shouldn't it be Jared Dines instead?
I'd rather have Alex's dad Hugh on
Don't forget A&P-react aswell
If we're talking metal commentary UA-camrs, Jared dines or jarrod alonge seem appropriate though both aren't very active lately
Hefner sucks. Brings less than nothing to the table
My two favourites in on video.
yo Finn will you ever do a video on Nightwish and/or Sabatons?
49:29 I see stars are actually coming back this year lmao
Wait... For real?
Both in pink! Cute!
Two Biggest Posers in metal and punk , im #3 😂 love both your channels but couldnt pass up chance to say that 🤙🤘🏼
nik is so sunburnt his skin tone almost blends with his hoodie lmao
This was a really cool interview. As a creator, you have both made me think a little bit more about creating UA-cam shorts too 🤟🏾
Good collab!
Fuck the haters!
Ya'll Rock!
Nik's an absolute genius
It would be awesome to see Scott Carstairs get an interview. I know his band isn’t the talk of the town but he is such an underrated artist.
you should do a interview with jared dines or stevie t.
jimmy & timmy power hour IRL
Greatest collab in metal history
Thats what i like with the Alt scene is loving each other not like the metal scene
Both rocking the pink getup I see. 😉
good dudes
Cool
As an artist on Spotify, I feel it when he said he would make a penny per billion views on there.
next time can you ask him how he keeps his hair so voluptuous
Does nik have a filter on his face? He normally looks so pale ha. Great interview
Omg, I love you both! I mean.. not in a para-social way.. of course...
there will always be periods of innovation and saturation, that's how innovations become cemented
This is what "an interviewer interviewed the interviewer" looks like 😆
If you like metal and if you like guitar, you know Mr. Nocturnal. Lol
