Using your recipes for some time now (4-5 months) and lost 5kg. Doesnt seem alot but im mentally not really in a good shape why I cant bring myself to do any kind of sport or workout whatsoever, so I'm still very proud to achieved these results over the past few months and also in the future :) I also dont feel like i'm dieting at all since almost everything is so delicious :)
5kg is great :) I lost 12kg (from 96 to 84) in a year, which also doesn't sound like a lot but it's the first time I managed to lose any weight and I did it the healthy way, eating foods I like, just creating them with low fat and more vegetables. Btw just walking 7-10 000 steps a day is enough workout to lose weight.
How tall you are, how much you weighed before, if you're lifting weights, there's many variables The less you weigh, the harder it becomes to lose weight 5kg is a good start, specially if you're not having difficulty with diet and feeling comfortable eating new things
It's really hard to adhere to a diet. But this don't scream "diet" at me. I mean, you're still eating a burger and fries. It's just a smarter way of eating. With as little compromises as you can. Thus far, I'm a fan of your recipes, even if it's sometimes hard to find certain ingredients (like Gochujang).
He's making a joke with the wording by making a point of taking a usually unhealthy meal and making it actually healthy. Break down each component and it's actually fine. It sounds like you are the type of person that would say a burrito bowl is healthy but burgers isn't even if they contain the same thing. No offense
@@TheSilverwing999 I think something got lost in translation. My comment was a genuine compliment on how Felu approaches the topic of healthy meals. Because usual diets need you to abandon what you know and love for completely different, healthier meals. Felu on the other hand takes the meals you know and love, and he makes them healthy. Following Felu's recipes is like "having your cake, and eat it, too." I'm genuinely amazed.
To be honest it's not that crazy when you break down what is the highest amount of calories per some weight. Things like animal fat, ketchup, cheese, rice, mayonnaise, sugary coffee, etc come to mind. Dieting is easier if you can reduce all of these as much as possible or find some alternative. Why can a turkey burger be better than a beef burger? It comes down to the fat content and all the extra crap that's put on it. Same with yogurt, great when there isn't 40g of sugar in it.
Well, I am back I have a lot of videos to catch up on. This looks delicious I still struggle to eat bread after cancer. I am now in recovery and had another all-clear exam this Tuesday. So I am ready to try some of your beautiful recipes! Thank You. You are amazing.
This looks incredible. Looking forward to trying it out! Thanks so much for your help with the book by the way. I was the one who stupidly didn't set up an account to link to the book! 😂
I'm amused at how widespread Five Guys has become. I was visiting Paris in 2019 and was shocked to find a Five Guys location right there on Avenue des Champs-Élysées.
This recipe alone is worth the cost of your cookbook when you consider the savings doing this as opposed to buying from 5 Guys all the time! Plus. Less calories! Thanks!!
I love recipes like this, and I do make them often but sometimes I want the real thing. When I want the real thing, I plan ahead to have the meal I want and then just slam a low-calorie protein shake to fill in the remainder of my protein that was missing from the meal. In my opinion, it’s more enjoyable. Plus, it’s near impossible to find things like light mayo that aren’t loaded with seed oil and other bad ingredients so if I’m going to eat it, I might as well just go all in
Hi Felu Thanks for another great video Here in Canada we have a fat free cheddar that's amazing. It's 30 cals per slice and 4gr of protein. I like to make cubano sandwiches and high protein grilled cheese and it tastes amazing. You should give it a try. The texture is similar and gooey
@@Felu Großartig! I tried the fries with the extra baking soda step today (aka Backnatron). They turned out amazing!! Love your cookbook btw, best purchase i've done in a long while
Actually you conuted the calories wrong because you frgot to add the calories from oil you were using for fries, frying the bun, the meat and onion so the calorie count could be even 100 kcal more depending how much oil was used.
Amazing video! Is there a certain reason to smash the burger on the iron and not before putting it on? I just do not see why it could taste different? Just ordered 2-3% ground beef!
I dont tolerate lactose/whey but the light Mayo has "Molkeneiweiss" as an extra ingredient. The normal Mayo hasnt. Any other ideas for a low calorie mayo?
Love your recipes and just bought your cookbook. I made the fries today and I think I did something wrong because after 7 minutes of simmering they were all completely mushy and in the air fryer they pretty much got overcooked. Trying to figure out what I did wrong. Any advice?
I think I'd prefer one 80/20 burger patty than two 95/5 ones. The lean beef mince is just too dry for my liking. Apart from that this is a great recipe!
I got a question... Im currently back to training, got a new workout plan 4 times a week, everythin alright so far. My goal is to gain weight rather than losing weight as these recipes imply. At the same time, i want to get my protein intake to around 160g a day to build muscle obviously. My question is, can i just increase the portions i eat from these recipes to have a high protein intake and still have enough calorie intake to gain weight or does that not add up? Or in other words, are these recipes still any good, if im currently trying to get bigger and not leaner?
Yea, in my experience they are great for gaining muscle as well. You can either increase the overall portion for a big amount of protein or increase only the carbs (fries, noodles, rice etc.) as the recipes usually already come with a lot of protein
@@TheChosenOne_ I just watched that 16 minute video and he didn't even show his recommended solution is working. I feel betrayed and want my time back :(
Shouldn't you still be tracking the calories from the oil spray? For the fries you said to add 5 grams and you also used it for cooking in the pan lets say anotoher 5 grams. 10 grams of olive oil would still be 88 kcal
I don’t really think you need to peel them. Five Guys doesn’t so it would be a better replication of their fries if you left them on. Plus, the skin has plenty of fiber in it.
The chips will be better if you let them cool after par boiling then give them a lift shake in the bowl to get rough edges, add some polenta to the seasoning mix and bake at 180 rather than 200 to get a better texture. 200 often burns the outside without cooking the inside and results in a less fluffy product
I would just remove the potatoes honestly if I'm going for a weekday burger. Maybe even replace the sauces with some seasoned avocado. My stomach doesn't like the American cheese slices so I usually get a ricotta or some high quality white cheese, season it a bit and hit it with a blowtorch, tastes great! Great video btw

Very BEAUTIFULLY done!
Drop the chips for a well portioned sized meal for those on lower calorie diets.
Looks delicious for sure. I never take the skin off the potatoes as I like it on them. I have a knife that makes crinkle cut fries.
Never seen such a knife, sounds fun lol
I have never ever seen spray oil in a store, it is however incredible for losing weight together with sweeteners, black coffee and protein.
I didn't know the aluminum actually did a thing! that's awesome! thanks Felu
i do it for chopped cheese, cheese-steaks and other hot sandwiches as well works great.
I works awesome at making everything soft
You can get the burger on lettuce instead of a bun. Helps a ton. But yeah five guys is a cheat day meal heh 😁

They don’t sell fat free cheese in Europe
Sounds nice, we don't have that here in germany sadly so I use the regular cheese
I'm definitely trying this one! And you look so amazingly fit!!❤❤

Which beef cut do you use for the 95/5 ground beef?
You could use top sirloin
changing the bun to wholemeal has lower calorie but is there any reason why I should use brioche bun instead? just in case of nutrients or so on?
Hey Felu, is there a grocer that sells these oil spray bottles in germany apart from amazon? Sth that doesnt require delivery would be nice.

Hey Felu where do you buy the 0,2 cream cheese you use in some of your recipes. Is it Lidl or some smaller store?
Thoughts on dropping the mayo entirely and doing 80/20 beef? Also do you account for the fat that renders out and stays in the pan?
Nice ! But when i saw the metal spatula on the non stick pan, my heart broke 😢
Ground chicken burger ideas?
you forgot to include oil in the macros. 5g for the potatoes and 5g for the frying will be an additional 90 calories and 10 grams of fat!

Hi there, he made a video about adding gelatin to meatballs several months ago to make them juicy. Idk if the same concept would work here.
Just add powdered Gelatine and Never Look back
Fair enough!
You try it with keto buns? Only 80 calories each and much more protein
The burger was just as good as five guys! The fries were good as well but obviously it's much harder to replicate these.

I got one on amazon and it worked WAY better than I expected.

Depends on the potatoes. Some of them are cleaner than others. Occasionally you can't get all the dirt off by washing
