- How to Build an Automatic Bamboo Farm for Minecraft 1.20+
This is how to make an automatic Bamboo farm in Minecraft 1.20, and is the absolute best automatic Minecraft bamboo farm tutorial that there is for 1.20 and above using natural farming mechanics. This video is also for Minecraft Java & Bedrock Edition players, so this farm may not work on bedrock edition.

You helped my survival world, noice
Works great, thanks!
this works better if you skip the sticky piston setup on the right side opposite the minecart and just place a restone torch next to the angled powered rail.
You didn’t even show it working
Got rid of the observers/leaves/logs on either side, powered the two outer rails with redstone torches and all is good now.
It works faster if you repeat the observer setup on the other side
I built it and my Minecart doesn’t move at all and the observers don’t activate when it grows 😅
same
the minecart will move when the redstone activates.
its a bit more expensive iron wise but for bedrock use mudblocks instead of dirt that whey you can place hoppers directly under the mud block and the bamboo wil fall straight trough into your chest
you can do that in java too
add redstone torches to each end side of the track, it should work fine after if not then build a simple auto farm
So at the end of each powered rail?
@@TheCapulateOne yea otherwise it wont move, the leaves and observers are pretty stupid and don't actually work
My minecart won’t deposit the bamboo into the hopper what do I do
works for me greatly! tho i want to make it 4 floors...can u make a tutorial on that please?
Also if you often find the minecart not transporting stuff correctly as it should and getting jammed with items usually adding a second hopper connected to the first usually fixes it
My Minecart gets stuck on the side with the observer
Same 💀
Replace the inclined power rail with detector rail
@@TheTony24 Thanks, it works now
Hi
You can also replace the Redstone dust with a Redstone torch and it'll work
Very Good instruction keep it up
it wasnt working i just added some adjustments and it works great nice
Could this be used as a sugar cane farm too? With some modifications of course
it won’t collect into the chest, i even put repeaters like you said. Also the pistons aren’t breaking the bamboo
I may be late but is your hoppers connected correctly?
i just watch this in 0.25 speed
Does it work with sugar cane as well?
Odd i followed what you said step for step but nothing happens i gotta place a redstone torch near the repeater just for it to activate, Not sure why, i'm on the Java version.
He doesn't have a clue Ryu - I've had my minecart take a trip away and halfway back then stop, but as for the farm working? it doesn't have any power does it?! He's a scammer ...
how to activate it?
Doesn't work. I've tried several different changes to the build the pistons do not fire.
are you sure youre on java edition?
the observer by the leaves doesnt work for me idky and yea i put the same log matching with the leaves
Does anyone have any recommendations for getting the minecart to do more than just one trip across when the bamboo is harvested? Im finding that im losing almost a whole stack of bamboo that doesnt get picked up because it takes too long to fall for the minecart to pick up and it despawns before its harvested again.
I simply activated the other side for it to always come back and that solved my problem
You could delay the signal with a few Redstone Repeater so it starts a second later or smth, so the bamboo has time to fall.
have you played around with just using water
best solution thank you

I ended up looping my rails one more row over, repeating the powered rails set up and using Redstone blocks under all the powered rails. I put a stone block at the end of the looped rails with powered rail at the end so it hits and sends it right back to the start allowing it to run under the farm twice in one go essentially. Fixed the issue perfectly. I also found I don't need the log/leaves sticky piston observer set up on both ends, just one end works. I doubled this build mirroring them into each other and have both farms feeding into one chest. Works great.
Do you know how much bamboo it gives per hour?
the bamboo isnt being picked up nor is the minecart working just the pistons? :(
Jayden!!! I have been here since your X-ray texture pack
hello!
Same
I mean i just build the sugar cane farm twice and put bamboo in it and it works great
Glad it worked out!
Can anyone tell what to do I build it but the observer don’t break it and in doesn’t even go in my chest?
why wood and leaves? what are their purple?
I just built mine well mmy own version of a bamboo farm, can it grow underground if I put glowstone on top? It grew 4 blocks but taking too long to grow to their 5th level???
if you build it underground you have to add light source otherwise the bamboo wont grow
what texture pack is that?
what am i missing what activates the build??!!??
lol
How much does it make
The mine carts do not activate. The piston pushes the log down, but the observer block does nothing. I'm on Bedrock. The overall design works. I'll use the sugar cane farm cart design for this. Great build.
Same problem, bedrock too
How to make it work?
If you are having trouble with the minecarts, replace the redstone dust that leads into the powered rails with another repeater on both sides.
A good fix i found on bedrock was i removed the pistons, logs and leaves and used calibrated sculk sensors with a redstone imput of 9 to activate in response to the pistons deactivating
@@RealJayden didnt work thanks for wasting my time delete the vid so no more people waste time please
mine does not cut the bamboo its just stay
Is it supposed to send the hopper minecart every other time it activates? Mine is doing that
Yeah, since it grows fast enough none will respawn before it activates again. If you don’t like it you can replace the connecting red stone to the powered rail with a repeater
I’ve been subscribed for a year and a half now
Appreciate you!!!
my sticky piston only pushes the wood down and doesnt pull it back up, any reason why?
Mine the leaves up and replace them. Idk why but I had a similar issue in another world and that fixed it.
@@RealJayden yeah that doesnt work for me, it makes the farm kinda useless because it means the observer needs to be triggered twice to force the minecart, meaning by the time it moves half the bamboo is lost, any other fix?
@@ComPanda I'm having the same problem
quick question why is it not collecting do I have to use mud
Yeah
my minecart wont move, not sure what to do
Good video but its a sugarcane farm with bamboo but with extra skips
Thanks! Now i have infinite wood!
Glad I could help!
use mud
as base
why dosent it work for me?
I worked for an hour on this farm but for some reason the minecart won’t move when the bamboo is hit which doesn’t make it automatic, can anyone help me with this problem
I removed all the bottom resdstone and sticky pistons/leaves. On the non collection side i added a lever for a on/off switch and on Collection side i opted for the basic Minecart unloader. Swap the powered rail on the hopper for a regular rail and power rail one after the hopper. Dig down 1 space after the rail and place a comparator down with the two lights closest to the rail. Skip one block and dig the next one down. Place a redstone torch on the side of the block that the comparator is going into. Place a block on top of the torch. Then place a repeater on the block you skipped with the light facing the rail. Add one click. Place a block over the comparator.
Edit: no tilting is needed for the rail system
idk what the minecart, wood and leaves are even for. i just deleted that and made it so water flows down and hoppers collect them
when my hopper minecart picks up the bamboo it does not put it inot my storage chest
Instead of the annoying Minecraft just put the sugar cane on mud and put hoppers underneath, works way better
Could you make one for bedrock, the minecart won't go
Place a lever above the powered rail and activate it
How to make it work
Not gonna show how it works?
He did? When bamboo gets 4 high it activates
why my bamboo get stuck on top
Jak to naprawic na Bedrocku?
it dosent break the bamboo automatic and the bamboo dosent get sorted in the chest
can anybody answer
This also works for sugar cane
indeed!
Bro it says automatic, but when the pistons break the bamboo it doesn't get picked up and stored into the chest💀
that's your fault if you did it right it will collect it works fine for me
how tall does the bamboo have to be before the piston knocks it down?
it knocks it down every 3 tall
it has to reach the front of the observer that is on the top right in the vid
Can you bild woden farm
My minecart hopper does not pick up the bamboo drops
If you are in bedrock, try replacing the grass with mud blocks
@@RealJayden I am in java.
@@AmixLiark the mine art should be picking them up then, try just using a repeater facing into the powered rails instead of just a red stone dust.
Friend of mine had his break after this update:
You can no longer place scaffolding on dirt path blocks.
Also on one I quickly put together I had to encase the whole top in glass (or any block) so the bamboo fell directly straight down; if left open they can fall 2 or 3 blocks away and get caught on the top of the frame work
Thank you for this new setup
Can I make building blocks instead of glass ?
it needs light to grow so the glass is for acces to light
Why my observer doesn’t activate when bamboo grows 3 blocks high
Sam brooo
same
It's cap it will not work the minecart will not go at all
Im in bedrock
Bedrock?
"And now your farm is done!" then it pans to a picture of the farm minus the top half?!!!.. Oh, and we need to have some footage of the farm in operation too??.... You can go ahead and upload that please..
Redstone😭

It doesn’t work on bedrock
Hi
whats up!
Super bad farm. In servers u lose most of dropped bamboo bcs during the time its on the ground server clears it and minecart with hopper doesnt go back to collect it.
Easy means - ingredients you need should also be easy to get. These are not. I am an early player of Minecraft and cannot build it.
farm doesnt work, pistons dont break the bamboo this is a bs farm
L video terrible didnt explain how to even activate the farm
why wont the minecart activate
Try replacing the last redstone dust that connects to the sticky piston (on the top) with a repeater.
shit farm it dont work
Drunk and don’t help be better stop ads bye
worst farm ever
awful design
Rubbish. Didn’t do all steps
don't build this farm, he's a scammer. it doesn't work!
I built this and it works easily, you need to have at least a basic idea of how redstone works, otherwise you'll never be able to build any farm
