Just built this farm, it's a good farm but not very economical. It used 8 stacks of bone meal to produce less than one stack of bamboo planks. Tell me I'm wrong.
If you raised the observer 1 couldn't you eliminate the locking circuit . It would have to grow 1 more taller but could eliminate some of the Redstone. Just a thought, I could be wrong
You absolutely could do that! But, you're also potentially waiting twice as long between bamboo growing before it harvests. I prefer the faster method, but if you don't want to use the extra 10 pieces of Redstone to build the locking circuit, then yea - you could raise it up and take it out. :)
Active mode, passive mode, beautiful build cinematic AND a secondary use for the building. This video has everything! Well done Blu and thank you, as always, for the amazing way you explain the hows and whys of redstone.
I love this farm and built it on my realm but felt like it was wasting bonemeal so expanded the top up one block so the bamboo could grow taller before getting harvested and it seems to have doubled the output!Maybe not exactly but seems more efficient
Build materials as far as I can tell, not counting enclosure or the mill itself. Bottom (Active part) Chest - 16 Hoppers - 32 Redstone dust - 15 Redstone torch - 9 Redstone repeater - 10 Redstone comparator - 1 Lever - 1 Dispenser - 8 Piston - 8 Mud - 16 Solid Blocks (including the temporary ones) - 44 (double check this as I was just trying to count as the video went) Bamboo - 8 Top (Passive) Redstone dust - 17 (pretty sure this is right but may be plus or minus 1 Redstone repeater - 3 Redstone torch - 1 Solid blocks - 15 Observer - 2 Glass - 6 (you will need more if enclosing the base in glass) Remember, this is just for the machine itself not its enclosure. Depending on how you enclose it, would determine how much more solid blocks/glass you would need. I made this list up for myself so I can build it later. Hope this helps people. Also, double check me as I was trying to grab this while listening.
@@juliamorgan9195 sure thing! It’s rough but it should be close enough. Also, you may want to throw in an auto crafter to make the bamboo into blocks/sticks/whatever you’re crafting. Happy building!
Hi BluJay I have attempted to build this multiple times rewatching the video, but for some reason the part of the redstone where the clock meets up with the torch, either burns out or works for like 2 piston changes then burns out if I could get you in a discord call and screen share to help me find out what is happening that would be great!
LOL! I would love to consider a way to feed bone meal into this farm automatically at some point. But...I do have the AFK fish farm, and the skeleton farm that both provide a TON of bone meal. Already did videos on both! :)
u only need the row where u place the bamboo on the second row of mud and the second and third row of hoppers are useless if you surround the farm with glass, it wont get stuck due to the pistons pushing the items off
I built just the active mode, but instead of bamboo I'm growing sugarcane. However, the despenser closest to the lever isn't pitting out bonemeal. Any tips? Ive rebuilt everything and still have the same problem. Also tried moving the comparator, but that pushes out the pistons and forces the sugarcane not to grow...
“The redstone will tick on and off” the comparator will tick on and off” “the repeater will tick on and off” the redstone torches will tick in and off”
Experiments are not stable releases of features. Mojang recommends NOT using them on your permanent worlds because they could cause issues. So, no - I didn't mention it because it's not a fully released feature yet. But, as Jon said - yes, I will be implementing the crafter into MANY farms once it is in full release! Great feature - just not done yet!
@@BluJayMC Not a guaranteed stable release, but it IS released. Even if you're not using it here, it necessitates consideration for a tutorial build to be futureproof. Would be better if people didn't have to tear out their floor to make space for the crafter and it's redstone or rebuild the entire farm and facade. Also, from what I can see, it's working fine. This isn't some barely tested code like you'd get in Java snapshots. Most features are fairly safe by the time they get to bedrock experiments. I have yet to see experiments affect a world negatively. The last borderline game-breaking bug was the undroppable beehives, and that was in a FULL release.
Stepping up the game! I like it! The production quality, absolutely awesome! I really like that the farm can run in two states. Brilliant! Keep 'em coming Blujay!
Hey Blujay I got a question for you can you make video about Minecraft Bedrock Hotkey like how to put all item in chest at once or anything that could be useful in survival Minecraft world
Hey blujay love your work so glad to see you on again! Is there anyway to get a materials list on this? Takes me so long from following tutorial when i dont have all materials on hand
Appreciated the video, never made one using bonemeal, never have enough bonemeal to make one like this worthwhile. Nice that it is active and passive. It’s great! Thank you! Keep up the amazing content! Take care.
Bonemeal farms are great for rapid growth, but ALWAYS great to have a passive mode when possible. Otherwise, you run out of bonemeal...and the farm is dead. lol Glad you liked it Snowy!
Kill prowl in next episode 2 please put tnt behind him Wile he is not paying attention ok 👍 and boom I hope ya get him good cause it would be from both of us ty bluejay
Yep - it is expandable. Once you go past 15 redstone signal strength, you'll have to add in additional repeaters to extend the signal, but theoretically, yes you can tile it and expand it.
My guess is that you built it wrong, or out of order and one of the circuits got locked. Join my discord and look at the schematics I posted there to double check, or follow the video again. :)
"Has absolutely no effect on the farm but has an effect on my brain" very nice, great video :D
SO happy someone thought that was funny!
Loved that comment! 😂
I have the same kind of brain 😂

Awesome farm and build.

do you have a materials list posted somewhere?
You making bamboo farm: complicated redstone very nice👍
Me: observer,piston,redstone, done

If u think about it. This farm can be a good emerald farm for villagers trade with sticks. 👀👀

Thanks for the build! Now you need to do one on how to get the *massive* amounts of bonemeal needed to feed this farm. ;)
Lol..bonemeal is always a problem for me.
LOL! I would love to consider a way to feed bone meal into this farm automatically at some point. But...I do have the AFK fish farm, and the skeleton farm that both provide a TON of bone meal. Already did videos on both! :)
@@BluJayMC maybe you can do an update when the auto crafter comes out. Toss bones in chest, let the auto crafter do it's magic to feed farm.

help needed bro! it only shoots the bonemeal when i interact with the lever fast it doesn't do it automatically
Why don’t you hook up the skeleton farm to that do it’s infinite bone meal beachside if the new oato crafter

Nevermind, I got it. I had to reorient the lever redstone section, and had an extra block, and that's what threw it all off.😊
That’s a gorgeous build! And then the rain started lol
Does it have to be in hard also can u list all the materials for me please love your videos
“The redstone will tick on and off” the comparator will tick on and off” “the repeater will tick on and off” the redstone torches will tick in and off”
Lot's of ticking! :)
Can’t wait to see you update this once the auto crafter is released so that it auto makes the bamboo logs!
It's been released for a while, you just need to turn on experiments. No idea why he made this video without using or even mentioning it.

Great job BluJay! Lovin the content keep it coming!
It looks amazing, you have done really great with the camera thing
thank you!
Really enjoyed binge watching this series so far. Glad I stumbled across you Blu! Really looking forward to what else you create☺️
More content coming sooooon! :) been a bit busy the last week or so, so running behind - but I've got another episode in the works! :)

Thank ya thank ya my friend!
just hook up a zero tic kelp farm farm with the collection hoppers facing into composters to provide infinite bonemeal
FINALLY an automatic farm I’ve managed to build that ACTUALLY WORKS!
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! 🎉
Hey Blujay I got a question for you can you make video about Minecraft Bedrock Hotkey like how to put all item in chest at once or anything that could be useful in survival Minecraft world
8 y later, that simple redstone contraption (jumbo, mumbo 2018) is now understandable
Blue Jay Thanks For the Farm Here I will Build this In my World now
Hey blujay love your work so glad to see you on again! Is there anyway to get a materials list on this? Takes me so long from following tutorial when i dont have all materials on hand
Now i just need a Skelton spawner and make that farn for bone meal !
Awesome cinematics and a very well explained build! BluJay for the win 🏆
Why this thing just cant work in java?
Because Redstone is different between versions.
I have Nintendo switch lite how find ur words add on
Appreciated the video, never made one using bonemeal, never have enough bonemeal to make one like this worthwhile. Nice that it is active and passive. It’s great! Thank you! Keep up the amazing content! Take care.
Composters don't take bamboo. The active mode of this farm is not worth the expense if you don't also have a skeleton or fish farm.
Bonemeal farms are great for rapid growth, but ALWAYS great to have a passive mode when possible. Otherwise, you run out of bonemeal...and the farm is dead. lol Glad you liked it Snowy!
There's no such thing as "too much" bamboo! Great video as always Blu! Keep up the great work.
Definitely not! ALL THE BAMBOO!!!
Great job bluejay 😊
Thank ya!

Hey, Blujay! Thanks for the vid. Always love the builds. Bamboo's great isn't it. ❤
Bamboo is the best!
Must admit I am enjoying this 😊
Awesome tutorial, awesome video, awesome build!!! Farm works like a charm on Switch
Always great to hear it works on other platforms like the Switch! I rarely test these designs outside of my PC - so appreciate the feedback!
I’m thankful for your explanations on red stone builds as red stone confuses me and you help me understand 😅
Hopefully the way I laid it all out made sense! :)
Please tell us how to make the crop farm
Wouldn't it have been possible to raise the observer by a block or two to ignore the piston while in passive mode?
Yea, but then you gotta wait for that one bamboo to grow twice.
you sound like squilliam fancyson
The music, camera work & editing on the time lapse was spot on! Love the build!
Can this farm work if you double side the farm King 2 rows of bamboo
Yep - it is expandable. Once you go past 15 redstone signal strength, you'll have to add in additional repeaters to extend the signal, but theoretically, yes you can tile it and expand it.
Great Video Blu!!! Keep up the Hard Work!! Be Blessed!! 🙏🙏🙏

I followed the steps to a tee and it wont go

Bamboo farms are very useful.
VERY!
groovy vid man
i love the build blujay well done
Thanks! :)
does this work on java?
Hasn’t been tested on Java. It’s possible? But with the differences Java and Bedrock have with core Redstone, I’d count on it not working. 😅
@@BluJayMC yeah the dispenser part works but I had to completely redo the piston part. thanks anyways, the farm is still really great
