- In this video I discuss Lechuza Pon, which can be difficult to come by since production has slowed down due to COVID restrictions. Please know that if you sign up for email notifications on the Lechuza website that you will be notified every time they restock. A restock is how I was FINALLY able to get some myself. However, you can DIY pon as well by mixing pumice, zeolite and lava rock.

You are such an amazing person for giving some of that plant back 🥰 so much like myself always wanting to make others happy 😃 this is why I connect with your channel so much you are an amazing person!
Happy New Year!!!!🥳🎉🎄
Love watching you carefully remove those roots. It was so satisfying!!!🌿🍃🪴🌱🌸💕💗❤️💚
That fungi on the roots is mycorrhiza, it's living with plants in symbiosis and gives plant microelements and stuff...
Beautiful plant and very nice gesture 😘
Most of the fungus I see on people's plants is common houseplant mushrooms (and the kind with those little balls you saw here will most likely turn into that). It's a saprotrophic fungus, meaning it feeds on decaying material in the soil rather than getting nutrients from a symbiotic relationship with plant roots. It's not bad for the plant, but it's probably not good for it either. It's also a sign the medium is staying wet since it's breaking down enough for the fungus to feed on it. Mycorrhizae is a thing, but most of the fungus that randomly occurs in people's plants isn't mycorrhizae. You typically have to intentionally inoculate your plants with it if you want it to develop in a potting medium.
I have used pon for a year now it has had mainly brilliant results as long as you do exactly what the instructions advise philodendrons love it.
I did my first Lechuza pon transfer yesterday! I moved my hoyas into pon from soil. I love the look! And less pests so that's a win. I already ordered another bag 😆 I plan to switch all my plants over eventually. Looking forward to seeing an update on your beauties in the future.
wow!! theyre gorgeous plants❤
I also recently transferred some anthurium and philodendron with lechuza with self watering pots from amazon. Can't wait for an update!
Hello friend thanks for sharing your beautiful plants watching from California
Wow!!! That is one beautiful Anthurium!!!
Hi Ella, great repotting. Do you have an updated video for pon? If not can you do one please? Thanks and happy growing.
Thank you for this video! This is very informative. 😊
Never seen such wonderful roots.
So sweet to think of giving pup to Marvin
Monstera Maven is amazing! And she's the nicest, makes me so happy 2 of my favorite plant people know each other omg
She really is! ❤️❤️❤️ It is always wonderful to come across more lovely plant people ☺️
@@ThePlantsMeow Same, gives me hope
Hello Ela...I love this idea..something new to try
Absolutely! I am pretty excited about it 💚
Wow I don't know if it's the picture but she looks like she's grown so much. Absolutely stunning 😍
One question: my clarinervium has 2 flowers atm. It's quite a young plant. Do I need to cut the flowers off?
Oh my gawd my Pon turned up today. This vid is just in time :-)
Perfect!! 😍 I hope you enjoy it.
most of my rare philos monsteras and hoyas are in lechuza pon for years and they love it ! me too haha no flush days and watering once a month of two , awesome !
That is amazing to hear! Thank you for letting me know 👏🏼💖
Super nice, but i would use the PON when its dry ish because it will not be so sticky and it trickles through the roots better :)
Thank you for your video. I was wondering how do you remove the excess of water in case of overwatering? 🤷🏼♂️
I have large lechuza pots and often pour water beyond the max line. Then, I use a mini hand operated pump (couple $ on Amazon) to siphon out. Very useful tool😉
Begonia luxuriant has started giving me bigger than dinner plate leaves and no more legginess: repotted 7 month ago.
BTW thank you for showing how to separate the antherium; great info. Also, I like seeing your "sharing is caring"-ness💗
Anyway, if the stems accidentally get broken/dnapped, do you have any suggestions such as: sprinkle cinnamon/rooting powder and/or dry it few hours etc? Thank you!
Beautiful
Big thumbs up 💕🐝
Hi Ela, Thanks for the very informative video! I have never used Lechuza or Leca. From the videos I’ve watched, I’m not impressed with Leca. Your video and the self watering pots really got me thinking. I have several large houseplants that are in plastic pots within cache pots. They are a pain to water because they are very heavy and must be removed from the cache pots because some of the cache pots have holes. I know, it’s crazy but they are decorative clay planters really meant for outdoors. It seems like Lechuza would allow me to water the pots where they are, still use my cache pots and not have to worry about my floors or have to carry the pots. Do most houseplants adjust easier to Lechuza than Leca? I’m thinking about my Bird of Paradise, a huge Alocasia, large palm and a large foxtail fern. Will Lechuza give me more time between waterings too? You may have just solved a major problem for me.
Thanks!
Welcome to the pon world
Thank you!! 🥰
Hey Ela. Love your videos! Wondering if you can tell me where you get your XL net pots.
Nevermind!! I see your links. ☺️
Gorgeous
Thank you 😊
Good morning,. I have a question,. I think I noticed that u may place a small amount of moss at the base of ur plants,. Could u go into depth about this ? I think it's a good idea. Thanx ❤️❤️❤️
Hey Ela, What kind of Anthurium is she? I so appreciate you working carefully an separating them. 😃 I’ve seen where ppl just rip them apart an I cringe. 😬 Gorgeous plant an thanks for the info. 😃💚
All I know is that she is supposedly a Luxurians hybrid. She is very beautiful and I feel very lucky. I hope to share her one day with more people 🥰
What slow release fertilizer did you add to your pon
Love this! So curious to see how Elvira does in the pons. I'm always looking for new and better ways to grow my anthurium. 😊 Can I ask you why you put moss around the base of all your anthurium??? I'm so curious. 💚
Where can I get pon substrate?
do you have a followup video on how the PON worked with Elivra? Does she like it and how do you like it?
I haven’t done a follow up yet. So far so good though! I will make a video in a few weeks once her new leaf finishes growing 🥰
Amazing growth in a short time, congrats. Would love if you could do an update in 2 months time on both this and the red crystallinum that you have already transferred to self watering, I have been thinking in getting self watering pots for some of my plants as it would make travelling more stress free (I was about to buy the longer rectangular one from lechuza for the gloriosum as he keeps growing out of his pots, but I still haven't pulled the trigger). Tbh I was thinking of just using a small portion of pon on the bottom and the rest my usual mix, but you made a good point about the increase chance of root suffocation, but I have not used pon before and am unsure about its long term use as well.
I will 100% do an update! Traveling was one of the reasons I really wanted to try this. I felt like I could never go away if I wanted to. I was planning on those long ones for my crawler philodendrons as well. If this all goes well I will certainly convert those. I know others do still use their mediums so I think it would be okay but I wouldn’t fill the reservoir right away. I think watering like normal and gradually adjusting would be safer. In the long term pon is said to be good for many years. After 6 months you will need to start adding fertilizer as the slow release granules in the pon runs out.
I am a plant disaster. I have never had roots like that
Can you please so a follow up with on this?
Already planning on it ☺️👌🏼
Um beijo bem brasileiro e português 🌹🌹🇵🇹🇧🇷🌵🥰❤️🌴
