Thank you for this video, it’s just what I needed as I start transitioning some of my plants. I found a helpful tip from Minimalist Cali to help pull the inner pot from the outer one. She puts medical tape (or any strong tape) on each side of the inner pot edge then folding over to the outside edge making a little tab so you can easily grab both sides of the pot and pull it out of the water reservoir. Does this mean you don't have to repot your plants unless they need a bigger pot? My question is do you need to change the lechuza every once in a while?
How do you prevent buildup of salts in self-watering pots? Lechuza doesn't seem to address that issue. Normal tap water contains about 0.3 gram of salts per litre and with each watering those grams accumulate within the pot until, presumably, there is such a high salt content that plant dies. Also, I've seen in your other video that you have a monstera deliciosa; have you tried to grow it in the PON? P.S. I measured EC of run-off water from planter with Lechuza pon right after replanting and it's well below 1.0 mS (initial EC of water about 0.1-0.15). So it looks like you can fertilize the mix from the start.
You can’t prevent the buildup of minerals and salt. I once had contact with Lechuza about this issue and they told me a weird story about it so what I do is I don’t water with fertilizer everytime. So basically I’m flushing the pot just like with LECA. And thanks for your information about fertilizing from the start, very helpfull! And about the monstera, I’m growing one in LECA and my biggest one are still in soil since it’s so much work to repot them and they are growing nicely! ✌🏼 Greetings, Thijmen

Groetjes, Thijmen

Terracotta aswell but you have to water a lot!
Pronunciation: /leh-CHOO-zah/ (means "owl" in Spanish)
Hey, very curious wether you have tried Vulcastrat or Vulcaponic too since that is a lot easyer to get here in the Netherlands from dutch based shops and its a pretty large price diffrence. I have a question out at a supplier Wether they can inform me on the diffrence in how it works and wether vulcastrat or vulcaponic would work with the elho inserts aswell.
But thank you for the glass container aiartion tip because i have a few cuttings in old peanutbutter jars.
I looked up vulcastrat and vulcaponic, they have the same ingredients as lechuza pon. However I dont think they have fertilizer, but thats an easy fix, just add fertilizer to your water. Also, One had a higher ratio of zeolites.
I actually cant find lechuza pon so I mixed my own.
I checked their German youtube channel. They pronounce it "le-choo-za"
This is a really good tutorial on using lechuza pon. What fertilizer do you use? And what is dilution ratio? Thanks for sharing your experience.
Hey man, have you watched my other video about repotting into pon? I talk about fertilizing a little in that one. Hope that helps, if not let me know. I'm happy to explain a little more in depth!
@@PlantingPlants I will check that out. Thank you so much!
