ONE of the best singer songwriter of all time.
Dude was one of the GOATs of storytelling 🔥
One of the great American singer/songwriters of the seventies and eighties.....telling us stories of how we live our lives here, what can happen to us and how we feel.....and the memories of it all!
Singer, songr writer, story teller with Amazing vocals...!
A Rock & Roll Icon...!
that drumming was relentless
I was going to say the same. I can't believe they didn't comment on that fire drum beat. Just fantastic and it kept the song moving at a galloping pace that just never stopped...
That is exactly the right word. 🙌🏼
Exactly! Relentless in the best sense. My fave Seger song and the drums are no small reason why!
David Teegarden was the drummer here.
David Teegarden laid down one track, then overdubbed another track on top of that. It makes it sound like there's 2 drummers. You can tell where every other snare hit is slightly out of time. It was an awesome feature for the song's beat.
In all my years I don’t think I’ve ever said this about an artist. But Bob Seger has never put out a bad song
Agreed ❗ He's amazing . I smiled through this whole song.
He makes me happy
Truer words were never said.
What else is there to say about the great Bob Seger, that we all haven't said many times before? A staple of 70s Rock music, and a great storyteller. Glad I grew up listening to 60s and 70s Classic Rock. Throw in that Motown sound, and some R&B as well. We were spoiled.
Tanks guys!
Dusty, you hit the nail on the head.. it was the apex of quality, quantity along with variety.. 60s and 70s, the two greatest decades for music.. Those musicians,,singers, lyricists, etc born in the 1940s through the early 50s dominated the music scene and produced legendary music, masterpieces.. unmatched and sadly we will never see the likes of it again! So glad I was there for most of it!
We really were lucky growing up with this music on the radio, or the 8-track, or cassette...those were the heady days of what would later become..."Classic Rock" Rock ON!!!
Sometimes, I can't get over the DRUMMING in this song. Truly. 🤯
I seem to lose myself in it. It's not perfect, but it's fantastic! Cheers
Fame, riches, romance it's all fleeting. Seger knows how to put it all together lyrically and in sound. You are right Seger does not miss. You can't go wrong with the Silver Bullet Band and Bob Seger.
Bob Seger, absolutely a legend, Detroit baby
Bob Seger ... WHAT A VOICE!!! I saw him in concert in the late 1970s, and he blew the roof off that place! Mind-bending voice, and an astounding songwriter.
Bob always had that power.
I live between Detroit and Ann Arbor where Seger grew up. In this area Seger is royalty - truly revered. Glen Frey got to know and play with Seger while Frey was still in Highschool. Seger wanted Frey to go on tour with him, but Frey's mom wouldn't let him. They remained good friend's till Frey's death.
Yes! I loved The Ark! It was the last place I got together with my buddy, Rick Danko! We had a bit of a party in his tour bus, then Rick died just months later.
Long live Detroit rock’n roll!
Peace
I grew up in Maine……and Seger used to royalty, it just doesn’t get better.
Bob is one of the greatest story tellers of all time. And, I have never found a bad song on any of his albums. Hearing him brings back memories of seeing him live in 76. I was 16 watching one of the best shows I have ever seen in my life! What a national treasure.
Writing lines with rhyming words is a gift, but when you can do it telling a detailed story, that's next level.
Every bass kick drum beat is a triplet! That and the alternating single and triplet beats on the snare really work. And the 16th notes on the high-hat tie it all together. 😃🙃👌👍
I love Bob, so many great songs. I can listen to him all day, His storytelling is second to none. Thank you!
I've heard this song a thousand times still gives me chills
I am a Detroiter and guys absolutely GET ROCKIN ROBERT 😎 💪
Bob is an American treasure with all his stories, great music, and exceptional vocals!A truly great album is this one; Stranger In Town with this song Old Time Rock’n Roll and many more great songs!
THE... ROCK VOCAL G.O.A.T !!!!
If this is your first, Bob Seager? ... Guys, ... The best is yet to come... !!!
What drew me in first and foremost was that drum beat. Throw in the lyrics and you got 🔥. By far my favorite song from Seger. Go back and listen to the precision of the drumming. OMFG! This song just smokes from start to finish.
This IS one of the few greatest singer/somgwriters to grace the ears.
If you guys haven't checked out Bob Segers "Katmandu" yet then please listen to that one. One of my favorite Seger songs!
Listen to Roll me away. Every guys dream to just get your ride and girl and go.
He is a great writer and storyteller . The gritty ness of his voice pulls you in and keeps you there. As always, fellas excellent reaction 😊❤👏
Love Rocking Bob Seger. I still have all of his albums in viny.
❤🔥❤
A "Live Bullet" album review is definitely in order 👍✌️
The hi hat goes hard.give the drummer some.and the lyrics is a definite bonus
The legendary Bob Seger
I think everyone who moves to Southern California has that moment when he realizes he's fallen under it's spell....
Today, it’s a place to run away from…
Democrats destroyed California.
Bob Seger is one of those artists who was under the mainstream eyeballs for years. He’d been playing since the 70s , churning out songs that everyone knows, but don’t realize who it is. Another Detroit artist he took under his wing before he went out on his own was Glen Frey of the Eagles before the Eagles. The Eagles were 70s, that’s enough to let you know of Segers longevity.
Excellent analysis of a Classic Bob Seger tune. If you're going to deep dive I'll recommend, "Roll Me Away",
"Even Now" + "Feel Like A Number" three rockers w great stories.
Pure rock n roller. He and the band learned their licks in the late 60's and it all paid off in spades down the road.
Thanks for Bob!
Just yesterday, I was reminded of a song from Bob that he calls his “Cowboy Song”. One of the few that is Not written by Bob but, Legendary Texas Songwriter, Rodney Crowell. It is a sound y’all have yet to hear from Bob and, really is a beauty! Bob pounding on the piano and, members of the Eagles lending back-vocals!
Please react to: Shame on the Moon.
Ultimate driving song .. those drums never stop :)
Wanna talk about hard?? Those drums are hard!
As a Detroit native, the album Live Bullet was issued to me at 9 years old. Now in Los Angeles this song has become a self-fulfilling prophecy, LOL! Spot on with your review but I'd add that without the music framing the story so well, Bob wouldn't shine like he does here. Love the title. American Savage! Great work as always gentlemen, thanks!
They need to hear "Get Out of Denver" from that album! 😳🤪😎
“Issued”. Michigander here. So true. Live Bullet was required listening for Gen X kids.
Just old time Rock and Roll at its best.
I really love the way that song builds
Mr. Seger LIVING LEGEND
I LOVE BOB to the moon and back!! Thank you both 😅
David is all about style. He is a very smart drummer.
I'm old enough that I recall Seger first coming on the scene nationally; I was hooked on his music IMMEDIATELY. Been a fan ever since. So glad you're catching up to him. He has SO MANY bangers!
Surprise you weren't so keen on the backing. This is probably the only Seger song that I really like. It's been one of my favourites since I was a kid - I love the whole thing, particularly the feel of the song.
Great song Bob is amazing, I don’t think he has a bad song. Thank you guys
Haven't looked it up on your channel but if you haven't checked out "Roll me Away" by Bob Seger your going to LOVE IT, another great story, guaranteed "banger"❗️❗️
Knew all the words to all his songs. One of my first concerts, 1970..2+2 is on my mind...
I love all your reactions they're always so honest, but this one this one is probably my favorite
The King of Detroit Rock & Roll
This album and Night Moves Every single song id great. ALL OF THEM!!! Then followed up by Against the Wind! Between live Nine Tonight! This man is arguably the top singer songwriter in America!
Uncle Bob will tell you ....All that glitters is not gold.
The man is a Legend 😎
Legend has it that the studio executive played the demo on his drive home, when he looked down and saw he was speeding he knew it would be a hit
Laa and Chee! Brother Bob. One of the Motor Cities finest!
I think this is my favorite reaction so far. 🎉
The absolute best story teller of Rock, bar none.
L.A. is awesome...40 years ago
The drumming is stellar here.
La, I could see that story crushed your heart. 💔
It did
Another great song with great lyrics that no one seems to react to is "the Fire Inside"
Worth a listen🇨🇦🇨🇦
Ramblin Gamblin Man 🔥 He's amazing. Lyrics , Vocals .... all of him has so much soul. The band pushes like a locomotive.
Easily one of my all-time top 5 artists! Had every album he put out. Another great Bob Seger song about getting played by a woman, Sunspot Baby!
She had all of the skills.
La & Chi, you guys don’t miss either! Great reaction! More Seger!
The lyrics are great! His voice is great and I love their music!
Man, you two are are my go to reactors, first site i look for when i log on.
Its a fast story about fast times that leave you broken hearted and you don't even know what just happened. The tempo of the song is critical to the tension of the story.
loved ya'll story about Hollywood and LA. My sister lives there and I go visit from here in Baton Rouge and I can't wait to get home after a few days there.
What beautiful locks he has, white man dreds!
A great song and a great reaction!
La and Che you bros are on a roll.. You’re like the Tom Brady led Patriots where you just keep hitting us with huge wins! Been rolling with you guys since the beginning, love your style guys!! The crazy thing is there is so much more great music that you guys are going to experience in the coming days. When I watch your channel I feel like I’m hanging with good friends and I can’t wait to see you experience another banger by a legendary band.. witnessed your baptism with The Dan, Zeppelin, The Stones and Pink Floyd!Just to name a few! It was a pleasure watching you guys truly comprehending the magnitude of what you just listened to!!
yes... love this song
Night Moves. Great story!!!
His lyrics match his vocal talent. Storyteller.
Every Bob Seger song tells a story….
Along with the lyrics, the drummer plays two different parts which also gives this tune a chaotic feel.
Love the story of your trips to LA getting into the music business!
I agree with all the great comments here! I honestly didn't appreciate Bob Seger enough in the 70's / 80's. We were so jaded with SO MUCH great music it was unbelievable. Now he is an American rock legend in my mind.
Saw Bob Seger in spring 1978 with two opening acts - Toby Beau and then Wet Willie.
Bob can definitely give off different vibes and tell good stories
Fire down below is a good one and Sunspot baby is kinda funny
Glad you are here to enjoy all this music and share your thoughts with us!!!
Great song & album I was a sophomore in high school this was a favorite! Great reaction as always !!! Rock on !
Guys check out a lady named Karen Newman.
She was a Silver Bullet back up singer.
She now sings the National anthem for the Red Wi gs hockey team. She can belt out the National anthem.❤
Roll Me Away, Bob Seger video. You can see him sing and the Silver Bullet Band play. It's a very up beat song, and as always a great story behind it.
"Her Strut" should be the next Seger tune to hit guys.
My favorite song, especially growing up in the valley just over those Hollywood Hills.
I am not a huge Seger fan, but this is a good song. Ironically, I live in Hollywood FL, but I did live in Glendale for about a year when I was younger, so it does have more meaning. anyways, consider yourself lucky to grow up in that lovely place. still the same is another great song by seger.
Love this. It might be your best reaction of all time.
Bob seger is an American treasure.
If you haven't you should do the live version of traveling Man/beautiful loser
I remember ramblin gamblin maaann , when i was young , the rest is history 😳🤔👀
Great song, great reaction--you guys definitely got it.
The way I heard it, this song is autobiographical, and The Eagles (actually J.D. Souther) wrote New Kid In Town about Seger arriving and fame turning to him. If you haven't reacted to it, it's a great, classic record, and I think you would dig it:
"You're walking away, and they're talking behind you
They will never forget you, til somebody new comes along"
Thanks for having me along. All the best to you and your family.
Seen him play late afternoon at a horse race track in 1974. He and his band were backing up BTO. He had it then. It was the first time I really heard, "Turn The Page", it was rough and not like the radio version, but his voice drew me in. We were sitting front row with our girls, on July hot asphalt beside a local Disc Jockey who kept looking at them. I was trying to roll a Mexican Hindenburg by sticking two rolling papers together. The DJ bumped my elbow and said, "Try these", very large long and pink rolling papers that worked great. Soon a cloud blew onto the stage from where we were sitting and Bob in the middle of, "Stealin" breathed deep and laughed saying something off mic to his guys.
I think any man from anywhere in the world can relate. I know I can.
Now that was a reaction! So glad you two shared where it took ya. 😄
I suppose the main problem now, worse than what you describe about then, is that Hollywood is a boarded up tent city.
Bob always tells a great story. Always!
🤠 That drummer....
Saw an interview years ago with the producer or engineer or something who was part of this. They finished recording late one evening, and he had a raw tape of the recording, which he listened to driving home. At one point, cruising along, he noticed that he was going 100 - realized right then that this would be a hit.
YOU CAN NEVERRRRR GO WRONG WITH SOME BOB 👍😊FIRE DOWN BELOW, SUNSPOT BABY, AGAINST THE WIND, SHAME ON THE MOON
I loved hearing you guys tell some of your own stories. Great video!
American savage, love it. Bob is a Detroit guy. Some good ones out of Detroit. Ted Nugent, Alice Cooper, and Grand Funk Railroad ( Really from Flint but close enough ). Thanks guys.
Reaction was 🔥 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
MISSISSIPPI RKN APB !😁
This sound takes me back
