"Roll Me Away" is a song by American rock artist Bob Seger. It was released on his 1982 album "The Distance." The song is often considered one of Seger's signature tracks and has been a staple of his live performances.
"Roll Me Away" tells the story of a restless soul searching for freedom and meaning. The lyrics describe a motorcycle journey across the American landscape, reflecting themes of wanderlust, self-discovery, and the desire for escape. The song's driving rhythm and evocative imagery have resonated with listeners for decades.
Seger's passionate vocals and the song's anthemic quality contribute to its enduring popularity. "Roll Me Away" has been featured in various films and TV shows, further cementing its status as a classic rock staple.
Bob Seger is Michigan's treasure. Protect him at all costs.
What I love about Bob is, that his voice is as powerful as it is clear!
He’s the best storyteller around!!! I love him!! My favorite!!! I’m sad I never got to see him in concert!!!! ❤😂
You missed a good show! I saw him a couple of times.
Huge deep rabbit hole you have opened here. Bob is not only in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, but the song writers Hall of Fame. I love it all, but one song that he covered was Ike and Tina Turner’s Nutbush City Limits and It’s off the charts. Give it a listen.
Haven't heard this in 40 years. Great tune. Thx Simeone!
I grew up with this music. Still love it today.
Bob's classic song "Like A Rock" was used in Chevy truck commercials in the late 80s. It reached #12 on the Hot 100. Also his #1 song "Shakedown" was the theme song for Beverly Hills Cop 2.
Just watched a reactor saying Chevy had better be paying Bob millions for that song. Today I just heard the most recent Chevy truck commercial and it features another Michigan group. Grand Funk Railroad's I'm Your Captain (Closer to Home)
If you listened to his greatest hits you would play them over and over…he is a legend.
You’re right. And I have
Bob Seger is such a phenomenal singer and song writer.
Bob Seger has so many iconic hits. He is awesome. Love him.
Thank you Simone! This is my favorite Seger song of all time. " I too feel lost and doublecrossed, and I'm sick of what's wrong and right", is one of the best lyrics in Rock!
Seger is one of the best songwriters ever. Many more great ones.
“I could go east, I could go west. It was all up to me to decide.” Life’s choices. Profound.
Love this song- all of Bob's catalog is amazing!! Katmandu is a classic!
This song just captures the spirit of the road. His voice just makes you feel the freedom!
Turn the Page is one of my favorite Bob Seeger songs. Love that Detroit man!
Bob is such a talent. He also cowrote Heartache Tonight with the Eagles. You’ll hear Eagles backup vocals on songs like Against the Wind. You also always hear his Motown roots. Motown influenced him so much. He is truly one of the greatest vocalists and songwriters. You can’t miss with any of his songs. Thanks for covering this one!
He is one of the best singer song writers of all time.
My favorite Seger song!!
Mine too. Always has been.
Best live concert ever !!!! Was blessed to see him twice!
i remember seeing you at both shows
I've been saying this about Bob Seger since the 70's until this present day. " Bob has never made a bad song ".
After decades, Bob Seger is still always on the playlist for road trips
Listening to Bob makes me happy.
That’s a Story Teller! One of the Giants! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏😎
If this song doesn't move you, well,,,, you have no soul. Long time Seger fan and I guess this my favorite and it is a perfect song for thati long road trip on 2 wheels. Told my family I want it played at my funeral. BTW, great reaction!

You're right Mary. Roll me away had me right from the beginning. 😃 -- Corey Roy
I have been riding motorcycles for 50 years. I sold my last bike 6 months ago and this made me cry. I miss my bike so much!
But, I'm too busted up to ride anymore
Bob Seger is a freaking legend, keep checking him out, he never misses
Bob don't miss

Turn the Page was written about the boredom and the thrills of touring and performing.

Bob SEGER! Don't you just love auto correct?
More Refer! :)
Bob touches on several themes that are uniquely American: the desire to be free and your own man, to find meaning or purpose on the open road and to keep alive the possibility that there’s still more to discover about America and ourselves as a people.
This song will be played at mine and my husbands funeral. We also had one of Bobs song played at our son’s funeral in 2019 . Song was Famous Final Scene …. It was one of my sons favorite he used to play on his guitar
Main Street is a deep cut classic
Totally.
It's close call but I think this is my favourite Bob Seger song. Nobody ever seems to cover Bob either, just because you can't improve on perfection.....
Always love checking out your guys thoughts. Bob Seger deep dive is a must .
Love Bob. He puts on a great concert and always great music
Awesome reaction. One of the strongest voices in rock history
One of the BEST songs EVER!, Ever! Fire!
Bob is Detroit royalty...right up there with Berry Gordy, Aretha and Alice Cooper.
Kid Rock as well.
@@objectiveobserver4278 I should have listed Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye and Glenn Frey, but there's many other Detroiters I'd rank above kid rock (iggy pop, ted nugent, madonna,eminem..) I was just naming a few of the super elite.
When I got my Harley this is the first tune I popped into the sound system and drove it home!
This song was featured in the movie Mask starring Cher, Eric Stoltz and Sam Elliot.
Definitely one of the greatest rock storytellers of all time.
Bob is Americana! Just push play on anything!
Bob’s songwriting applies to anyone listening.
I could listen to Bob Seger sing anything. 👍🏼
He didn't do any drugs for the most part.. no drugs, just pure talent guys!
My brother rode a lot. One trip manitoba to Seattle and back for a conference. Said he was hotter than hell and bugs hitting the helmet was almost unbearable.
His first big hit was "Ramblin' Gamblin' Man" a great song.
The Distance tour was my first Bob Seger live experience.....the crowd never stopped making noise the entire show...whistling, yelling, and of course singing. What a great band! This is my favorite song along with Till it Shines. His live songs sound better than the studio!
You guys gave one of the best reactions I have seen you didn't interrupt to often and let people who maybe had never heard the song get the full effect
Chills and tears. Wow....powerful memories.
Every time I hear this song reminds me of my mom she ❤her some bob segsr.
What a gift from above, music is. Brings people together, lifts the spirit and heals wounds. Thank you for your honest and intelligent reactions to some of the best music ever.
One of the Story Tellers. He paints a picture with words.
I have seen so many bands in concert. You name 'em, I probably saw them... all genres and styles. Bob Seger is in our top 10 of best shows we ever attended! Last time was at MSG NYC, and the place was rumbling like an earthquake hit. Rock solid, no pun intended. ❤
Seger was my dad's favorite - raised on his music. Turn the Page is worth a listen.
He has a big load of great songs.
Freedom!
Soooooooo good!
Bob Seger's Love to watch her( Strut )
ya he does
You guys are so funny, I'm a chick and I lived on a motorcycle back in the 70's and 80's. I had a little dog that loved to ride, and we had a lot of fun. I taught my best friend to ride, and I couldn't get her off my dirt bike, I taught all my kids to ride, and we have some great memories. I have a bike in my garage right now. LOL, You just don't know what your missing. It a real feeling of freedom that you can't get from anything else.
I wrote this in an earlier comment; plenty of Bob Seger to listen to if you understand the meaning of it: Bob Seger - from 2 + 2 to Night Moves this guy was the Detroit Boy that was always Running Against the Wind. Like a Rock he was Shamed by the Moon so Turn the page to find more hits. Just Roll With it and You'll Accompany Me all the way down Main Street.
Yes, I whole heartedly agree with all you going down this Hole!!! He is by far my Favorite of All Time!! It's not even close... Those 8-tracks when I was a kid, Amazing talent and wonderful times!!!
Litte tid bit, my Godfather is his identical twin and when I was a youngster I believed he was... RIP BS. I will listen to him daily until I'm 6 feet under. My living will has a clause to play "Shame On The Moon" at my funeral...
Oooohh, hell yeah.
Against the Wind is another beautiful Bob Seger song with Glenn Frey from the Eagles on backup vocals
You have heard him on tv also on the Chevy Truck commercials. LIKE A ROCK 😊
Can't forget his song "Like A Rock" that was sampled in Chevy pickup truck commercials ...
This is my favorite Seger song. Great Stuff!!! His songs are so familiar because they have been used in movies and commercials for years.
Saw Bob and his band live right after this came out with Grand Funk Railroad’s drummer Don Brewer (and that booming bass drum sound). They blew the roof off with this song.
Fire 🔥
I saw Bob many times first time at my high school 1969 and many times sense he has one song that’s out that was released. I think three cities I want to number one all three cities best song no one has ever heard. I say it’s called East side story, Bob Seger, and the last heard, give it a listen you love it
AND he wrote his own songs. Check out one from back when he was about 20, 1967 or so, "Ramblin Gamblin Man." He was big here in Detroit from way back before he ever got national radio play. But "Come to Poppa," a straight blues number, is the best!
Spirit Animal..... that's funny. Bob Seger is amazing!!! I ride all the time! 4 wheels move the body, two wheels move the soul..... Thx guys !
Time to start checking some Live Bullet stuff. This man has never put out a bad tune.
Rockin BoB!!!!!
"Turn the Page", "Hollywood Nights", "Fire Down Below", "Shakedown", "Like a Rock", all worth a listen. Seger has a DEEP catalog. (Shakedown was from the Beverly Hills Cop 2 soundtrack)
You can't go wrong with Bob Seger! Great reaction ❤️🙏
Road trip music !!
Men, great job, epic song. Bob Segar And The Silver Bullet Band live. Song title " Get Out Of Denver." A tow tappin rock-n-roll little Diddy. Brace yourselves. Enjoyed the reaction.😊
There really is nothing like riding. I love the sound of roaring thunder!! ❤✌️
Btw, I have fallen asleep on the back of a bike more times than I care to admit! 😂
Night Moves is a must hear Seger song!
Love this song and my fav is SUNSPOT BABY AND FAMOUS FINAL SCENE HE wrote a song about him and his going through separation very heart touching ❤❤❤ love y'all
OMG, he's a god in Michigan.
The entire Live Bullet album, especially his cover of Tina Turner's "Nutbush City Limits," and other rave-ups like "Let it Rock," and deep introspection with "Night Moves" or "Main Street."
Damn, he's just great.
Think I watched Corey the whole time, infectious smile during the whole song. Keep playing me some Seger. Catalog for this man is endless with greatness.
Bob Seger is the SHIT!!!
His “B-Sides“ are better than most folks “A-Sides”!
Slow, Blueysy Ballads? Fast, hard rocking? Soulful rock? Yeah, I think Bob has that covered!
You wanna listen to a FANTASTIC song by Bob, listen to LIKE A ROCK.. One of his best songs..
"Main Street"
Is a must listen.
OMG...I also love Hollywood Nights.
Ya gotta do NIGHT MOVES! You will love it!!!
Here you go! ua-cam.com/video/jbdk1zUe2RE/v-deo.html
Listen to the fire inside
Loved it fellas! Like a Rock is an awesome song to reminisce.
Horizontal Bop, Betty Lou, Feel Like a Number, and many more!
Wow such passion!😘
I’m a few days late to this, but just in case, I'm throwing this out. As a GenX, Detroit kid, there are many Bob Seger songs that make up the soundtrack of my life--most are mentioned in previous comments. You can’t go wrong with reacting to any of them. But, as no one has mentioned my favorite song by BS&TSBB; I’d recommend “The Fire Inside”. While it is from later in their catalog (and it too often overlooked) the music is phenomenal and the lyrics can land hard.
Thanks to all three of you, it has been fun discovering your channel.
You will gain a new appreciation of the man with every song you do. I recommend a deep dive, to your hearts content. Her Strut, Come to Poppa, Main Street, Turn the Page- just Soooo many songs to choose from. Bob Seger & The Silver Bullet Band Live LP is the Best.
He sung the song Shakedown in Beverly Hills cop too
I grew up listening to ob Seger, he's amazing.
I love bob but this song just sucks me ❤in. Just makes me feel so alive.

Love Bob Seger. Check out "Still the Same".
