As a contemprary of Joe I love his quote " It was a lot more fun to be 20 in the 70's than it is to be 70 in the 20's "
Now its cool to be 50 in the 20s. Good to be alive anytime, but especially when you know this.
Fact!
Hey! That remark resembles me.
Actually, in some ways it is easier (not more fun) to be 70 in the 20s than it was in the 70s. I'm retired and living alone (with my cat). Thank God for my personal computer and the Internet (and my cellphone). It helps me to stay independent and entertained. It's not more fun because ageism still exists and healthcare costs (all costs really) are through the roof. In the 1970s, doctors didn't get rich like they do now.
@@324cmac Here is what it is like to be in my 70's
1. Unwrap a candy
2. Throw candy in the trash
3. Stare at wrapper
Check out Funk 49…
I second this, certified banger.
Absofuckinglutely...

@@AirplayBeats Nice! Check out Rocky Mountain Way and In The City 🤘🏻
At 8:50 a little nod to Jeff Beck
The Eagles' Don Henley said that Joe Walsh is one of the most interesting group of people he's ever met. Joe is also Ringo's brother-in-law.
That was actually Glen Fry, true no matter who
Sorry, that quote is from Glen Frey.
Two quotes by Joe himself. "I was picked to sing lead for The James Gang because my singing sucked the least." and "I only got drunk once... for twenty years."
That's a great quote.
It's hard to leave the party when you can't find the door!
Been there lol 😝
@@patrickdutton6056tooooooo many times to remember, huh?
@@dennismccormick9204 remember? just the general feeling dont remember much from those days
I was at that same party
In concert he sings “it’s hard to leave when you can’t find some more.”
These lyrics are sooo underrated. He sings in his "clown prince of rock n roll" party voice but they are hella deep. Also "In the City", the outro to the film "The Warriors". Have you guys done any James Gang, Joe's first band? "Walk Away" their most famous single. Also "Funk #49". Love the channel!

Nice! Thank you, gentlemen. Don't forget "Walk Away". They put the "power" in Power Trio! @@AirplayBeats
Life of illusion is my personal favorite, and his music goes on and on
Have they done Rocky Mountain Way? That’s a “where’s my lighter?” Song
James Gang - Walk Away and also The Bomber are more than worth your time
"I can't complain, but sometimes I still do." FIRE.
THAT is the line of the song.
Don't we all, no matter what. 😊
James Gang, The Eagles and solo....quite the career.
And Jimmy Page used a guitar Joe Walsh gave him for Zep's first few albums.
One of the most underrated, great, genius careers in the music biz. Love Joe🙏🙏🙏👍👍
Not to mention an acting career!
Don't forget banging Stevie Nicks!
And then there's the "Life in the Fast Lane" riff at the end of the song. Master move!😄
I ADORE Joe Walsh. He made the Eagles rock when he joined them. He's one of my favorite guitarists, and he's hilarious!
He's refreshing! I'm glad he sobered up. I'm pretty sure he wouldn't be alive today if he hadn't.
I love him too
My favorite album by Joe Walsh is, “The Smoker You Drink The Player You Get.” Yes. You read that correctly.
But Seriously, Folks.
You bought it-you name it.
Absolutely and one of my top albums of all time picks. Good memories associated with it, and ...But Seriously Folks
No question on that
Love that entire album
This song describes Joe’s life at that time perfectly!
Joe Walsh is a freaking amazing guitar player and that’s a fact. I’m talking serious talent no joke.
The Great Joe Walsh.!!!
Y’all would enjoy….Joe Walsh - Live from Daryl’s House - Rocky Mountain Way
Great suggestion!
YES!! YES to Rocky Mountain Way at Daryl's House. An absolute MUST SEE!
One of my favorites of his !
Agree!
Absolutely.👏👏👏👏
Joe Walsh is quite a character. I like his honesty. I love the beginning and the lyrics. You need to be listening to the words. They are hilarious. You should see him in interviews.
Good 'ole Joe Walsh. Helluva guitar player. They played the heck out of this on the radio back when.
still do if you have a k-she 95 in your town...
I can't believe you played the flock of wa-wa's part, Joe sense of humor just can't be beat
Joe is Ringo Starr's brother in law and they partied with Keith Moon in the 70s and lived to tell about it.
Onstage last year at Hotel California 50 year tour he joked about most people thought he'd be gone by now...but here he was!
Joe Walsh is with the Eagles, If you watch their live video from 1977, Hotel California he is playing the lead guitar, along with Don Felder.
And the best part is watching his face while he plays. Not sure if that's just his natural face, or he's trying to be a clown, but it's very funny in any case.
Always admired Joe Walsh because he was willing to poke fun at himself...and he's a superb composer/musician(to understate)
To our hosts: Yes, this was a hit
Him singing the lyric about staying in motels and tearing out the walls is the absolute truth. As Joe once said, "the best thing that ever happened to me was when Keith Moon decided he liked me, the worst thing that ever happened to me was Keith Moon decided he liked me." Both were infamous for the damage they would do a motel. Another line in the song that everyone should keep in mind is "I can't complain but sometimes I do." So true of everyone.
"In the City" is a must hear. Enjoy watching you guys!
All over the radio that summer it came out.
The Seventies were great.
Joe Walsh is a legend... And the flock of wah wahs at the end of the song is one of the greatest Easter eggs in record history, in my opinion.
Ringo's brother-in-law, too.
Anything by Joe Walsh…keep going! His skills are underrated yet awesome.
Absolutely true. He doesn't do the lightning speed guitar shredding. But he makes MUSIC.
you and your 53 likes have heard of joe🤔so has all the rock world. Point out where he is underrated. Hes been in r&r hall of fame since 98
The Smoker You Drink, the Player You Get ... "Rocky Mountain Way", but the whole album is a banger !
AHHH....The life of a rock star, explained so eloquently by Joe Walsh. Airplay Beats, check out those lyrics. Great guitar, great sound.
shame they talked over the first lyrics which are hilarious.
Joe Walsh is a guitar icon that has played with everyone in the music business. Superior talent
Good old Joe. Ultra talented and really cool dude ☺️
I remember Joe from back the James Gang back in the 70s
BANG 🧨✌🏼
My roommate wants a Joe Walsh “Turn to Stone” reaction. We’re 21 year old college students and after we discovered that song, it made him pick up a guitar and the rest of us start re-learning instruments from our childhood. Out of all reaction channels, I want y’all to do it the most.
I think Barnstorm is an underrated album
There is a live version of Turn to Stone with the Eagles with Joe Walsh and Don Felder just outright jamming twin guitars
@@keefmack Yeah we’ve heard that one it’s pretty damn good. I’d definitely recommend the studio version first though.
That's one of my favorite Joe Walsh songs. County Fair is the other.
Joe is Rock n roll Royalty.
I think Joe is one of the most underrated songwriters in rock.
"Rocky Mountain Way"........please check it out!!!
As a musician this song always f-ed with my head because the drums start out on the 2 and then the guitar comes in on the and of the 1. By the time you get into it the song feels completely different than it did when it started. Great track.
The changes keep you on your toes, but as a drummer it sure is fun to jam with
How many nights did we party listening to this song raising hail! It’s hard to leave when you can’t find the door!😂
A rock star who finally admitted..."Life's Been Good!".
This song came out when I was about 10 years old and I thought it was one of the funniest songs ever. I still do, and I love Joe Walsh to this day.😂👍
Joe was on the Drew Carey Show.
He was on a local radio station years ago. He sang Take me out to the ball game, on beat behind. . Funny shit.
"Take me out the ball.
Game take me out to the.
Crowd buy me some peanuts and cracker.
Jacks I dont care.."
The band was called the Horndogs, it was hilarious
The lyrics are about the late Keith Moon, legendary drummer for the Who. JW knew him when he was at his best ("can't find the door"). Moonie was quite the wild man.
You've heard this everywhere, lol...On the radio, in ads, in movies. It's very popular and was played constantly on the radio back in the day. Walsh is a fantastic guitarist both solo and with James Gang, and The Eagles. You instantly know it's Joe when you hear him because he has a unique guitar tone and voice.
Yes. Wanted to make sure you know he’s one of the Eagles. One of the iconic guitars and part of the great harmonies.
Joe's great. Gotta check out his Rock Mountain Way, One of the best rock guitarists ever
Joe Walsh is a great guitarist. Check out his work with The James Gang (Funk #49). He was amazing in the Eagles too.
Joe Walsh is a Eagle too, he plays the guitar solo on Hotel Califirnia, and he's also from a band called James Gang, and his solo stuff like this song, but as a Eagle they play this and several of his hits in their concerts
This was my favorite song when it first came out. I was about 13 and I thought the line about his Maserati was too cool 😎
Joe being cautiously optimistic. Funny guy. Bill Szymczyk (producer) and Judy Boyer (ex-wife) did the background vocals. The "flock of wahs wahs" I think happened when they were screwing around in the studio having fun. Szymczyk put on on the record without Joe knowing he did it. The same thing happened with Joe's vocal at the beginning of Meadows.
Check out The Confessor. This song is great.
Superb! 👍
Joe Walsh was one of the Eagles. He's a great musician. Love this song❤❤❤
James Gang my men! Joe done more than just the Eagles! Love the Eagles to btw
Joe is one of a kind. A killer musician and song writer, a mad man back in the day and he's funny as hell. I saw him with the Eagles in 1977 & 1980, he always looked like he was having so much fun on stage.
Joe Walsh is a member of the Eagles. Also has some music with another group The James Gang......Funk #49......He's a hell of a guitar player.....and a 'character'.
Joe Walsh is an amazing guitarist and wonderful song writer. He has been making music for decades. I first fell in love with him with his song "FUNK 49" with the band "THE JAMES GANG.
"One of the scariest moments of my life was hanging out with Keith Moon and realizing that he actually liked me" - Joe Walsh...Joe has enjoyed a LOOONG career in rock music. Allegedly the person who coined the phrase "Party 'til you puke". Whether it was the James Gang, his solo work or the Eagles Joe is something else...gave Frampton his talk box and one of Jimmy Page's iconic if not most icnic Les Pauls was formerly Joe's guitar (it's been debated whether it was a gift or was sold)...Joe Walsh? He's Cool!!! For me his humility, raw talent & sense of humor always shines through.
Looks like I missed the start of the party. Y'all are playing the soundtrack of my childhood! Just like listening to the radio, and thank you! 😂😂😂
I know how much you guys love a song by the amount of head bobbing you do to it!! 😂
Nice Boston hat, Go Celtics and nice Expos hat. I was scouted by the Expos in the mid 80s
The giggling all through the reaction made this fun haha. Great job fellas.
It's about time!. This tune is up there among the most legendary, iconic epic famously loved awesome songs in Classic Rock History.
The intro riff on this song is one of my favorites. And the overall vibe is one of the most fun of any song.
Joe is one of those guys who's goofy as hell while still having insane chops. "Rocky Mountain Way" and "Turn To Stone" are a couple more of his tracks that show off his playing a bit.
Said it before I’ll say it again; Best intro on UA-cam! Airplay beats!
Walk Away and Land of Illusion. Love Joe Walsh✌️
I think you mean "A Life of Illusion" from his "There Goes The Neighborhood" album.
Who doesn't love a little Country Reggae!
The gospel according to Joe on a Sunday morning... life's been good. All that was missing is a big "ooooiiieeee" from La, but I can tell he dug it. A good one to get out the sticks for
Those 70's rock mixes were HARD. They just sounded more powerful than anything mixed today.
FUNK 49!!! Love your love of music! Joe Walsh is a living legend
Just saw you've reacted to this. LOVE IT!!!
My first concert was Joe Walsh opening for the Doobie Brothers. It was awesome. Almost 40 years later and I still remember it.
Joe Walsh telling his the story of his life!! He was a wildman!! And I loved it. An excellent reaction to a great song by a fantastic artist! Thanks fellas ❤😊👏
Coming in the top 5 of my all time Joe Walsh compositions.
Joe said he always wrote his songs with beginning lyrics - guitar solos - lyrics at the end. That way he didn’t have to sing so much..he said sometimes I was so drunk I’d forget the words…lol. Love that dude!
Joe's had a fun life, from all outward appearances: James Gang, Eagles, solo career, and adoration from fans who love his laid back stage persona. Rock star dream accomplished. : - )
This is an absolute treasure of a song! You need to listen to it a few times to really read into the lyrics, they are hilarious. Joe Walsh is a maniac, and this is a great depiction of his real life and arguably his best song outside of the Eagles. This is from his first solo album.
How can you not have a good time with his music
This has always been a banger....I love this song. "I'm just looking for clues at the scene of the crime"
In the city, Funk #49, Walk away lots of great tunes
I bumped into Joe Walsh at a Radio Shack in Studio City, I was taken aback because it was him and he acted the same way just as a goof as if he couldn't believe he was bumping into me. Good dude.
This was a big hit on the radio back in the late 70s in high school...and has had great airplay ever since! You may have just heard it in bars, radio etc. Love Joe!
Also...you know Joe from your James Gang Funk 49 reaction. Another great one!
This is my all time favorite Joe Walsh song!! Been a fan for over 50 years now!! Every song is great and so underrated!! Keep them coming love your channel guy's ❤
This song was a huge hit back in the day for sure!
Rumour- Joe played on The Archie’s Sugar Sugar
Joe Walsh is a national treasure!
You reviewed James Gang "Funk #49" and loved it. That was early Joe Walsh, guitar, vocals, and writer. Joe is one of the best, VERY respected by other musicians. Joined the Eagles for their last two studio albums and touring but did much more on his own. Rolling Stone crowned him "The Clown Prince of Rock and Roll" in the seventies. He was a raging alcoholic in the early days and probably wouldn't still be with us if not for becoming sober. He has a song "One Day at a Time", an AA expression. He said later "I only got drunk once, for thirty years"! How could you not love him? His biggest hit is likely "Rocky Mountain Way".
So much organized chaos. Extraordinary!
This dudes freakin good!!
"Life's Been Good" Was on the soundtrack to the 1978 film FM. Walsh wrote of the wild antics of the era's rock stars, with nods to drummer Keith Moon of the Who & others.
Joe still puts on a hell of a show.
One of my theme songs that gets played when I walk into the party. I got to see him open for Tom Petty on Petty’s last tour just months before he died. They were BOTH incredibly amazing!
Joe Walsh is known to be a crazy man. You can watch some Eagles interviews to see. You need to do "Rocky Mountain Way" at least. Then you have heard Joe at his solo best, IMHO. He joined the Eagles in 75 or 76, and then they released the album Hotel California. He added a lot to the Eagles, even though they already had an all-star cast. Joe had an earlier band in the late 60's/early 70's, named The James Gang, which had a few radio hits. I had the album "James Gang Rides Again".
You’ve heard the song from it being one of the most popular songs on the planet.
"I thought someone was in the garage!". 😂😆 Got me rollin' over here!🤣
Joe Walsh for president!
I love when you guys both smile this hard. ❤This song is dope. HUGE RECORD. I saw him play it live Sept 2022 with the Eagles, and he’s still playing like a boss. He’s one of the last rock n roll madmen. Check out “Rocky Mountain Way” he was also in James Gang “Funk 49” “Walk Away” and of course the Eagles. “In the City” from the Warriors soundtrack in 1979 is just breathtaking. More Joe!
It was big back in the day. Easy to find on the radio most days.
Just a great goddamn song guys
It was a huge hit! All over the radio still to this day! He was part of the Eagles for a long time. But his solo stuff is amazing also!
“So What” is my favorite Joe Walsh album. “County Fair” and “Welcome to the Club” are two of his best songs to date as far as I’m concerned. 👊👍
The first 45 I ever bought!
Joe was part of the James Gang. Then he went Solo. His song In The City was in the movie called The Warriors. Sometime in the late 70' early 80's Joe joined Eagles. He save their butts too.
Joe Walsh for president, he rocks.
Another banger gentleman. Love Mr. Joe Walsh great song one of my favorites from Joe along with funk 49. Please keep up the great work La and Che thank you…
I love the Piano rocking in the background on his Songs.
