Defeating Monster Shinnok is how you unlock the outtakes reel, and it essentially requires you to be full of full restores to kill him. Which considering how difficult this game can be… yeah, just watch the outtakes on UA-cam, as you said.
The person who played as Sub-Zero in this is John Turk. He previously played as both Shang Tsung and Kuai Liang in MK3 and would portray the masked ninjas in UMK3. I honestly think the Mythologies outfit is somehow a bit too big for him because Turk is a massive guy, on par with John Parrish, who was Jax. Also being a nerd here, but the Lin Kuei aren't cryomancers. Only Bi-Han and Kuai Liang are

She's even somehow less likeable in the reboot series. Why, is she always so annoying? Is there a way to make her less annoying? No, no there is not.

What I love about your videos is that you have a nice balance. You are very professional while still giving us some jokes here and there. Now that I know how it feels to make videos like this I understand what you're going through. As I get older I have been working to avoid parasocial relationships whether that’s with people I know or people I simply admire with that being said, I discovered your channel when I was 6 years old just browsing UA-cam and I was drawn in by the cool Johnny vs Mario thumbnails. I was hoping to see a fun animation of someone beating the shit out of Mario at the height of my anti-Mario eras I was met with some guy just talking and I immediately turned it off. 2 years later, you popped back up in my feed and I recognized the style of thumbnail and decided to give you another shot. You became someone I could always rely on if I needed something to watch, I was only 8 years old but whenever a new Johnny vs video dropped, I would make time in my day to watch it. Since then it’s always been that way, I’m 19 now and while I find myself drifting away from being as invested in UA-cam videos and such, I still make sure I keep up with SomecallmeJohnny. With all that being said, I just wanna say thank you for all that you’ve done. Your output has never been a issue to me personally regardless of any gaps, so definitely focus first on what YOU want and your own well-being as I’m sure the majority of us will still be here no matter what.

I just want to say Johnny: been a fan of your videos for ages. It was the Sonic 06 video that introduced me to you and i haven't looked back. Whether it's gushing about your favorite Final Fantasy, or torturing yourself with Bubsy and Sonic Free Riders, or experiencing peak fiction with Corey in the House, I know I'm in for a good time when I see one of your videos pop up in my subscription feed. You've become one of my favorite content creators on this site and I think you perfectly balance critique, heart, and humor. So I think whatever direction you choose to take is the right one. If you want to go back to doing shorter videos dedicated to one game, then go for it. If you want to do the occasional longer video when it works, then go for it. Just don't make videos at the cost of your health and well-being. I am happy to wait for what you release.
By the way John, Sub-Zero is portrayed by John Turk who was Shang Tsung, Kuai Liang(Sub-Zero), Classic Sub-Zero, Scorpion, Reptile, Ermac, Rain, Noob Saibot, (Human)Smoke, and Chameleon in MK3/UMK3/MKT...
The Nintendo 64 game does have one thing the other versions don't: a "god mode" code. Yes, you can get infinite lives in other versions, but (mostly) not being able to be hurt is quite something. I mean, it does nothing to help against insta-kills, like death traps, but it's still so helpful. The only exception to not taking regular damage is actually the fire stage. All those hot floor sections still hurt you, even in god mode, which was so frustrating. Also, I never actually beat the game (which I'd played because my little brother had an N64 at the time). For one, Fujin always got me with his dying tornado, and I'd never quite grasped the idea that you have to duck at the edge in order for things to work (just hitting the "grab" button doesn't work). But for that, I used the level select code to move past it. But there was also Shinnok. On the off chance I even could freeze him, he would unfreeze before I could get around to the other side of him. Instead, I remember there were times I'd just try attacking him, and I'd get stuck between him and his forcefield, knocked continuously back and forth. Interesting stuff. But overall, the version of Shinnok seen in the cutscenes (when I was finally able to see them instead of the stills) is the one I prefer. Every other version of him likes to just try to make him act menacingly all the time, and sound appropriate to that, too. But when Sub-Zero interacts with him in the prison, Shinnok sounds like a kindly grandpa, and the juxtaposition between that and his absolute evil is something Mortal Kombat doesn't normally do. It also helps remind you that he was once an Elder God, one of the big goods of the MK universe (more or less, but at the time that's what they were depicted as). Would have helped the story of Armageddon more if he still acted like that there, because Taven being oblivious to obvious evil Shinnok's obvious evil is a bit ridiculous (and I like Armageddon).
I finished the second level once in all my life. So watching Giant Bomb go through this game (with Mike Minotti eventually speedrunning it) was quite the experience.

I've been rewatching almost all Johnny vs. videos the past month or so and man, I just jell with your laid-back approach so much. I've had a depressive episode recently and I know the type of feeling you described in the Sonic Dream Team video. Even if one would have the best job in the world, you need to step back at times. the big reason i got into all the channels your apart of like SGB and BSC is how there is no gimmick its just people being themselves talking about games and hanging out never change that its what makes you unique in a time where most content creators are trying to follow the latest trend

The Mythologies playthrough on SGB was one of my faves of all time it was such a shitshow in the best way possible. Also as others have said, your health comes first and foremost Johnny! As I get older I have been working to avoid parasocial relationships whether that’s with people I know or people I simply admire with that being said, I discovered your channel when I was 6 years old just browsing UA-cam and I was drawn in by the cool Johnny vs Mario thumbnails. I was hoping to see a fun animation of someone beating the shit out of Mario at the height of my anti-Mario eras I was met with some guy just talking and I immediately turned it off.
2 years later, you popped back up in my feed and I recognized the style of thumbnail and decided to give you another shot. You became someone I could always rely on if I needed something to watch, I was only 8 years old but whenever a new Johnny vs video dropped, I would make time in my day to watch it. Since then it’s always been that way, I’m 19 now and while I find myself drifting away from being as invested in UA-cam videos and such, I still make sure I keep up with SomecallmeJohnny.
With all that being said, I just wanna say thank you for all that you’ve done. Your output has never been a issue to me personally regardless of any gaps, so definitely focus first on what YOU want and your own well-being as I’m sure the majority of us will still be here no matter what.

To be honest I’ve been subbed to you since 2013 and never saw a reason to leave. Your videos have always been organic and not too try-hard. And while I do find myself going back to your older videos. I just want to say Johnny: been a fan of your videos for ages. It was the Sonic 06 video that introduced me to you and i haven't looked back. Whether it's gushing about your favorite Final Fantasy, or torturing yourself with Bubsy and Sonic Free Riders, or experiencing peak fiction with Corey in the House, I know I'm in for a good time when I see one of your videos pop up in my subscription feed. You've become one of my favorite content creators on this site and I think you perfectly balance critique, heart, and humor.
So I think whatever direction you choose to take is the right one. If you want to go back to doing shorter videos dedicated to one game, then go for it. If you want to do the occasional longer video when it works, then go for it. Just don't make videos at the cost of your health and well-being. I am happy to wait for what you release.

The Nintendo 64 game does have one thing the other versions don't: a "god mode" code. Yes, you can get infinite lives in other versions, but (mostly) not being able to be hurt is quite something. I mean, it does nothing to help against insta-kills, like death traps, but it's still so helpful. The only exception to not taking regular damage is actually the fire stage. All those hot floor sections still hurt you, even in god mode, which was so frustrating.
Also, I never actually beat the game (which I'd played because my little brother had an N64 at the time). For one, Fujin always got me with his dying tornado, and I'd never quite grasped the idea that you have to duck at the edge in order for things to work (just hitting the "grab" button doesn't work). But for that, I used the level select code to move past it. But there was also Shinnok. On the off chance I even could freeze him, he would unfreeze before I could get around to the other side of him. Instead, I remember there were times I'd just try attacking him, and I'd get stuck between him and his forcefield, knocked continuously back and forth. Interesting stuff.
But overall, the version of Shinnok seen in the cutscenes (when I was finally able to see them instead of the stills) is the one I prefer. Every other version of him likes to just try to make him act menacingly all the time, and sound appropriate to that, too. But when Sub-Zero interacts with him in the prison, Shinnok sounds like a kindly grandpa, and the juxtaposition between that and his absolute evil is something Mortal Kombat doesn't normally do. It also helps remind you that he was once an Elder God, one of the big goods of the MK universe (more or less, but at the time that's what they were depicted as). Would have helped the story of Armageddon more if he still acted like that there, because Taven being oblivious to obvious evil Shinnok's obvious evil is a bit ridiculous (and I like Armageddon).
The The Super Gaming Bros's Sub-Zero playthough is still ne of my favorite playlists. I watched it frequently.
I finished the second level once in all my life. So watching Giant Bomb go through this game (with Mike Minotti eventually speedrunning it) was quite the experience.
