It then presumably went to his father before going to Sub Zero/Bi Han/Noob Saibot. When he died, the title then went to his little brother, Tundra/Kuai Liang/Sub Zero (original/actual/current for both).

A side scrolling beat em up with RPG elements sound pretty rad! I think Scott Pilgrim (god rest its soul) ended up making that concept really freakin rad.
Same here. Now that he's back, it almost feels like we took ProJared's reviews for granted. That's what it felt like in that dark, empty space when his reviews stopped for awhile. Like it was cold, dark, sad and empty, with no chance of Jared making a comeback, but when I heard even PBG was willing to defend Jared, I wondered if it was worth all the hate. I realized that Austin was a real friend to Jared. He didn't care about losing subs, he just wanted to protect his friend. I felt stupid for mindlessly jumping onto the bandwagon of hatred like the majority of people. I'm usually a loyal person, and don't just jump onto bandwagons without thinking, but this time, I did. I felt bad about it when I began to hear that Jared wasn't guilty after all. I should've given him a chance to speak for himself instead of just agreeing with almost everyone else that he was guilty. I mean, I almost came close to agreeing with dspigroach on something! That's how bad it got! I'm just glad this is all in the past, and that ProJared's back. I too missed these reviews, dude. I still miss the old intro and him saying what game he's playing, but, it's not like the video's themselves aren't still hilarious. Like the FFV review. I mean, he bought back the old "oh, an RPG where you have to collect the treasure of the 4 elements" joke. He's back and on top of his game. Let's hope it stays that way this time. I'm just glad Jared could forgive people who doubted him. He really is someone worth looking up to, along with Austin.
I thought of some ways that this game can be improved upon like how Simon's Quest ReDacted did. 1. Have the direction of left & right be how Bi Han faces & moves. No dedicated "Turn Button." 2. Have short cut buttons for special attacks like the freezing abilities. So maybe have the "Z Button" (N64) | "L2" (PS) be a ice power dedicated trigger. Then have 2 combo inputs for different powers. Like down + Z | L2 does the ice floor technique. Up + Z | L2 to do the airial ice moves. 3. Have a sprint button "R" (N64) | "R1" (PS). Have some ice combos with the sprint button. R | R1 + direction + Z | L2 = Slide ice kick. 4.Have the option to change the buttons to your liking. Maybe even have 2 button inputs be allowed to be placed in a single button. Or maybe make it a power up you can unlock. Give it the feeling of the player | Bi Han of improvement. Like how things become easier as you become more skilled. 5. Have a camera manipulation | skill that gives you the ability to see a little bit of what's ahead. Like if Bi Han has some binoculars or a telescope. 6. Have the option to unlock Serena as a playable character. Maybe if possible have her own mini segment like Ada in "Resident Evil 4." 7. Have the ice power be used to manipulate the environment. Like in the sewer level. Have Bi Han make ice platforms with the ice combo moves. Or be able to make an ice barrier or encase himself in ice to block hazards or blows. Like in the win temple to prevent being blown back. 8. Give the option to change Bi Han's stats. Like how it was done in Tenchu Z. Where certain abilities can only be used when the stats are a certain way. These are just a few ideas I managed to brew. I don't think all of it would work on the N64 or PlayStation, but it was fun to try & think of these things. What do you all think?
wait you have to crouch to grab the ledge!? this entire time i thought you just had to time your running at the edge, i survived it by tapping the run button at the ledge to keep from getting pulled in by fujin. you can tell the MK team didnt know how to properly make a MK adventure game, luckily MK shaolin monks was a better idea likely because it was on PS2 so less limitations, that game was fun as hell and wished they make a sequal.......with better writing
I think the main problem wasn't so much technical limitations, and more a combination of inexperience with the genre and unwillingness to change the MK control scheme more to better fit it.
The reoccuring Final Fantasy joke is one of my favorite running jokes on UA-cam. ProJared is seriously underrated and I'm sad I just discovered him now!!
"All you have to do is leave" OR you can hit the Shinnok beast with 6 Polar Blasts (which you have to save potions for), kill it and....get rewarded with a blooper reel -- complete with Quan Chi doing a DeNiro impression.
_"I am a dead man. But it seems you have retained your mortality. Which means you are vulnerable to death."_ Even William Shakespeare would cringe at this line.
I'm sure anyone who writes poetry would cringe at that line. If you have a soul; and are vulnerable to death and have retained your mortality; you'd cringe to this, you see.
Blu Dj I don't think I could ever do that for every game. The first thing I check out when considering purchasing a game is what the plot is. I'm a very story-oriented person. And Mortal Kombat actually has a good story, so I don't think it's weird to go into the games in that franchise thinking about story. Heck, the last two games even had fully fleshed out story modes. That's why I even got MKX. I didn't play against others or online. I played the story mode and that was kinda it.
one thing that i like in your reviews is that you play the game until you finish it, i saw a lot of reviews for this game but none of them showed the end, it was really fun to see the full game
The fighting game controls could've worked if instead of turning around, they just implemented a lock on mechanic or something. That would have fixed not only combat but navigating the levels, since you would turn automatically. It wouldn't fix the god awful "level design," but it would make playing the game much more bearable.
Mr. McLime The game is actually very great but the n64 version is inferior to the ps1 version. Ps1 had the CG cutscenes and better controls overall because of the L&R button having 1&2 variants. People just dont like that its a trial & error game. Beaten it atleast 10x and its very underrated imo
To be fair, Jared reviews the games way better, pointing out all their flaws. AVGN is worth watching for his persona, but for example in his own Megaman X7 review, he didn't say a word about the horrid voice acting, and sometimes he even reviews decent (okay, tolerable) games like Nightmare on Elm Street. I like it... for an LJN game.
Aside from the logs under his armpit thing, that actor was a great pick for a live-action subzero. When you only have the top half of a face to work with you really have to be able to act with your eyes. Think this version pulls it off better than the movies did.
Same here. As long as the story's either crazy good, like Tekken, or just crazy, again, like Tekken. Or Mortal Kombat, obviously. Or even the Persona 4 fighting games.
I like that this game does a very good job foreshadowing a major plot twist from a future game. That the original Sub-Zero (the one in all the later games from 2 onward was his brother) is actually the true identity of Noob Saibot.
It's weird hearing actors say Mortal Kombat so nonchalantly. Hell, even in the live action movies every time someone said Mortal Kombat it was always the MORTAL KOMBAT scream over the actor's delivery.
Scorpion doesn’t use any special moves during his first fight because he’s not a specter at that point. Scorpion only became a specter and gained his powers after he died. The only possible exception being the rope spear. I’m not sure whether or not that was ever specifically a specter power or if he had it before.

@Ildi Ildi that wasn't even clever! that joke didn't even make sense! man, these dumb-ass projared roasts are getting weaker and weaker over time.
@@Rammy_Latin People just aren't even trying anymore. The internet fallout of what he did is worse than what he did
Zack Darshon what people said he did and later were proved wrong about
I just imagine Subzero stealing Shinock's amulet then saying "You will fail. Hahahahaha!". Then he runs away.
so im not the only one that likes fighting games for their story, thats the reason of why i LOVE king of fighter and darkstalker to bad theyre underrated as fuck
I hated this game.
Why wouldnt you
I used to think you were a PBG wannabe.
Wait SpaceHamster isn't a PBG wannabe?
jk everyone knows SH is better than PBG.
Hi Hammy!
He is, they contain the exact same humour, but SH is a bit more forced.
Wish he did more his own thing
Although I don't mind him live streaming, I hope he'll still do the occasional prescripted review of a game, I loved these.
A side scrolling beat em up with RPG elements sound pretty rad! I think Scott Pilgrim (god rest its soul) ended up making that concept really freakin rad.
Rewatching reviews. I missed the reviews.
"Comically oversized sledgehammers."
What is this, a Woody Woodpecker cartoon? XD
Benthelooney. Lol
Life is about getting married.
comically large spoon
Why is pro Jared so underated? His videos have always been so entertaining.
I dunno, I always hear "WHERE ARE MY DRAG QUEENS!?"
Who is he, Ru Paul now?
WHERE ARE MY GANGRENES!?
It's okay Jared I also like stories for fighter games. Especially MK
SoulCalibur?
not after sc5
Dissidia Duodecim?
Bloody Roar was also a good example of that.
**glares at BlazBlue**
I thought of some ways that this game can be improved upon like how Simon's Quest ReDacted did.
1. Have the direction of left & right be how Bi Han faces & moves. No dedicated "Turn Button."
Maybe if possible have her own mini segment like Ada in "Resident Evil 4."
Mortal Kombat reboot from 2011 was really amazing for revisiting the story with a ton of detailed and nostalgic cutscenes.
wait you have to crouch to grab the ledge!?
this entire time i thought you just had to time your running at the edge, i survived it by tapping the run button at the ledge to keep from getting pulled in by fujin.
you can tell the MK team didnt know how to properly make a MK adventure game, luckily MK shaolin monks was a better idea likely because it was on PS2 so less limitations, that game was fun as hell and wished they make a sequal.......with better writing
I think the main problem wasn't so much technical limitations, and more a combination of inexperience with the genre and unwillingness to change the MK control scheme more to better fit it.
I feel and hold on
I've been playing this game for 18 years, and I didnt knew that either!
even my friends and i couldn't figure that out i had to skip this level with cheats WORTH IT
I never knew that O____O
I always ran by the ledge as well.
I remember unlocking the outtakes for the playstation cut scenes from Mortal Kombat Deception. They are hilarious.
I agree, MKD giving us the outtakes for MKM; was better than actually playing Mythologies, or...Special Forces.
The reoccuring Final Fantasy joke is one of my favorite running jokes on UA-cam. ProJared is seriously underrated and I'm sad I just discovered him now!!
"All you have to do is leave"
OR you can hit the Shinnok beast with 6 Polar Blasts (which you have to save potions for), kill it and....get rewarded with a blooper reel -- complete with Quan Chi doing a DeNiro impression.
_"I am a dead man. But it seems you have retained your mortality. Which means you are vulnerable to death."_
Even William Shakespeare would cringe at this line.
I'm sure anyone who writes poetry would cringe at that line. If you have a soul; and are vulnerable to death and have retained your mortality; you'd cringe to this, you see.
Before playing: “oh boy! A new mortal kombat”!
After playing: “oh no...nooooooo”!
where are my Dank weeds?!
Breakfast Studios Can you please put a time stamp?
10:10
"You retained your mortality... Which means you are vulnerablw to death!"
Best part of the video, underrated XDDD
Is it really so weird to play a game, even a fight game, for its story?
Play Advance Guardian Heroes (GBA) and you'll see probably the best example of why you don't.
Blu Dj Of why you don't what? Play games for story?
Archaic King yes
Blu Dj I don't think I could ever do that for every game. The first thing I check out when considering purchasing a game is what the plot is. I'm a very story-oriented person. And Mortal Kombat actually has a good story, so I don't think it's weird to go into the games in that franchise thinking about story. Heck, the last two games even had fully fleshed out story modes.
That's why I even got MKX. I didn't play against others or online. I played the story mode and that was kinda it.
It more or less depends on the fighting game, as some like Virtua Fighter have no story.
Am I the only one unsettled by the sound of Jared squeezing the controller.
one thing that i like in your reviews is that you play the game until you finish it, i saw a lot of reviews for this game but none of them showed the end, it was really fun to see the full game
Well not being able to freeze the water with your ice makes sense, because they probably can't add new mechanics for ALL the characters.
Oh wait.
I'm shocked that "You are vulnerable to _death_" isn't a meme of some kind.
I love how sub-zero is wearing a blue tarp in PS1 cut scenes.. lol
The fighting game controls could've worked if instead of turning around, they just implemented a lock on mechanic or something. That would have fixed not only combat but navigating the levels, since you would turn automatically. It wouldn't fix the god awful "level design," but it would make playing the game much more bearable.
Mr. McLime
The game is actually very great but the n64 version is inferior to the ps1 version.
Ps1 had the CG cutscenes and better controls overall because of the L&R button having 1&2 variants. People just dont like that its a trial & error game. Beaten it atleast 10x and its very underrated imo
Sometime you are fighting more than one guy.....auto turning wouldn’t work then.
Thank you Projared, I've been waiting for someone to review this game for SO LONG
Well, if you want more, AVGN reviewed this game last December
Just was I was thinking.
I didn't know that AVGN reviewed it, I should what that XD
Yeah, you should. It was hilarious
"I like playing fighting games... for the story"
ah... i am not alone in this world.
Same here. As long as the story's either crazy good, like Tekken, or just crazy, again, like Tekken. Or Mortal Kombat, obviously. Or even the Persona 4 fighting games.
What is it with old games and their life counters never going past nine?
***** You ever seen JonTron's review of DinoCity? That.
INE, ONLY NINE. ONLY NINE FUCKING LIVES
Another digit in there tobmake things complicated? No, man.
RoneVideoBlogs DINOCITY BRO!!!!
Tadhg O'Shea dishwasher?! YES?!
I like that this game does a very good job foreshadowing a major plot twist from a future game.
That the original Sub-Zero (the one in all the later games from 2 onward was his brother) is actually the true identity of Noob Saibot.
I'm with you man, I love playing fighting games for their stories.
I lost it when you had to run and crouch in the wind temple.
LOL, both Jared's and the AVGN review of this are both good!
That Rock Golem looked like Armageddon from Mortal Kombat: Armageddon
His name is Blaze, armageddon is just the name of the game.
SuperKratosgamer Its been many years since I play it, I stupidly sold my copy and I regret it daily
I frickin love mortal kombat Armageddon
I was a bit disappointed by the Fatality system, but then again I don't really care much about Fatalies, shockingly enough.
EvilDoresh My favorite part of that game actually WAS the story and making a character, But the story in that game was cool
Quan Chi sounds like the Vampire in Virtual Hydlide
9:41 “This symbol opens a door overflowing with danger.” Gee, I thought there was NOTHING to indicate it but there it is!!!
"I'm one of those weird people that plays fighting games for the story."
Brother...I have found you after all this time...
Batman Forever on SNES should have taught everyone this was a bad idea.
Yes; exactly what I was thinking.
It's weird hearing actors say Mortal Kombat so nonchalantly. Hell, even in the live action movies every time someone said Mortal Kombat it was always the MORTAL KOMBAT scream over the actor's delivery.
7:02
Super Mario Maker Expert in a nutshell
"Git gud" they say!
"Hidden blocks are meant as traps, not rewards for exploration" they say!
"Challenges aren't supposed to be fun" they say!
5:32 He said the thing!
...what ?
Fun fact! 1:38. When Scorpion runs away, It says "Meancingly Retreats".
In this game, you're very *VULNERABLE TO DEATH.*
You should've given it a Special Forces/10
2:45 ''Why am I called Sub Zero if I cant even freeze a due'' lmao!!! that slays me everytime!
I'm guessing Jared forgot that Jax had his own game as well with MK Special Forces.
Yeah, but to be fair, i mean, wouldn't you want to forget about that too? It surely would make for a great review though.
When projared makes such a big comeback his videos are in my recommended even tho I’ve been looking at animations
And, of course, Quan Chi is played by Richard Divizio whom was also the original actor whom played Kano in MK 1 - 3
Scorpion doesn’t use any special moves during his first fight because he’s not a specter at that point. Scorpion only became a specter and gained his powers after he died. The only possible exception being the rope spear. I’m not sure whether or not that was ever specifically a specter power or if he had it before.
Nah; I'm sure Scorpion/Hanzo could always use the rope spear.
