Currently using this for a kitchen remodel that used to have wall paper. Removed the wall paper and sanded, then applied this knock down texture to hide any imperfections (and the rest of the house has knock down texture). This product goes on great I was really impressed since a lot of reviews were bad. A few notes: buy the better quality can not the cheap can, then you need to shake the can A LOT, seriously shake the can this stuff will settle to the bottom. The first spray of each application spray into a trash bin for a second until it comes out as it's supposed to then apply it. I wouldn't go larger than a 4 foot by 4 foot section if you're doing a room. I shake the can while I'm applying it after about 5-10 seconds of spraying. After each section I turn the can upside down and spray into a trash can until air comes out. Wait 1-2 minutes before knocking it down I do recommend the foam edge knockdown tool and very lightly almost parallel to the wall run the tool over it. You can go back if you knock it down too far and it blends very well. One can did a very large section of wall it takes about 3 big cans for the entire kitchen

yes, the key to success is shaking the can like your life depends on it for 10 minutes before use.
I had an old can sitting around in my garage for a year, and I shook the hell out of it, and it sprayed fine.

I used the Homax Pro aerosol knockdown and got great results. You need to follow the instructions - and above all - vigorously shake the can before use and throughout the application.

also, you can use wall orange peel can for knock down and for ceiling too, maybe not ideal, but does work.
20oz $12.8 can nozzle seem to work better for me, compare to more expensive can with supposedly better nozzle.

Horrible. He doesn’t show how to apply the product. It’s a commercial.
