That voice instilled a sense of trust that this man knows his texture and texture accessories. 😁
If you pick the can up and it feels cold or cool to the touch, run it under hot water for a few minutes before you spray and it works a little easier.
Hi - 32 yr handyman here. I like this stuff - sometimes it doesn't spray well. I just put the can in hot tap water in a bucket to warm up the contents and increase the internal pressure - much better spray. I also like to prime it with oil based KILZ before painting with water based latex - since you can soften the mud with the paint and smear it.
I do that a lot is heat up the cans to get a consistent spray pattern seems to work when the cans won’t spray
As a new DIY guy, this video was very helpful, simple, and informative. Thank you.
Awesome thanks for watching
Something simple, simply explained. Brilliant! Thank you.
Thank you! This is a great example of how to apply
Quick and straight to the point video. Love it. Thank you for making this video. It was super helpful!!
Thank you for this tutorial. I have a few small patches to repair and needed a way to do it without using a spray gun and watered down mud. I appreciate the time you took to make this and explain the process. Off to the store to buy the supplies!
Awesome thanks for watching
Excellent Video. Very helpful to those who have never used spray on texture.
Have always messed up retexturing but for some reason after watching this video is worked great. Thank you sir!
Great demonstration on how to use the Homax wall texture properly.
Thanks for watching
Excellent, easy to follow, video on a simple, but tricky job, can-texturing! I'm really encourages it on! Thx!
Excellent video. Just what I needed
I am working on several even outs and patches in the bathroom that was poorly remodeled before. I hate seeing the smooth patches under the paint. Thank you for this video. This is my first real attempt at major repair/remodel.
No matter what lady it ain't going to match it's best to go get yourself a hopper a compressor and just redo your whole bathroom I'm sure it's not that big. And when it's all done you going to say man that was a great idea forget the can
Thanks for you video. It was clear and to the point taking the anxious anticipation out of the loop.
That’s awesome thanks for watching
Awesome video! I'm not Bob Villa but I think I can patch and texture drywall after watching this. Very helpful!
Finally someone shows me how to set the dial!!! It's so frustrating when even the manufacturing can't tell you the one simple, most important thing ... how to set the dial. The Homax instructions are pitiful. Thank you for this great video!!
I’m happy I could help pls subscribe for more how to videos
Simple, direct and clear. Thanks.
So glad you posted this! I have the exact same product and one entire wall to cover ...to try to match..and it just came out a gloopy wet mess. The can says to shake it for only 1 minute! I will try again as it is one half of a lath and plaster wall and I now know what size nap roller to get also!
Great job, I purchased the exact wall texture so your video was just what I was looking for.
Awesome thanks for watching
Soooo Glad you did this! I got a gurgle dribble out.....mess. Your video told me I needed to shake 10 or so minutes and spray from approximately 14 inches away, then across and up and down. What a difference! Also I got the color changing which help me know when it was dry enough to paint over. Thanks guy! This was much better than the H-Depot video.
Awesome happy I could help 👍
Thanks for this, just needed a quick explanation!! 😀
Thanks for video I did not no how fix this problem. Looks easy
Thank you for this!!! So much easier to follow your video than others I watched. I tripped and fell with a stove cover in hand into my wall making a small dent the size of a quarter and everyone I reached out to wanted to charge over $250 to fix but I just finished it myself thanks to you! 🥲

I went ahead and applied it a few hours ago and it went on just fine. ;-)

Thanks for the advice!! I just built a 9 foot wall with a rough opening for 60”x80” French doors. Need to match the orange peel texture. Looks like that’s applied to the drywall before priming. I hate all the setup, but necessary because i have a new floor i just put down. Wife will freak out if I make a mess in this process. haha. thanks again!!

Thanks for watching hopefully u can get it fixed
Thank you for your time
Love the content, im only 24 trying to fix every whole in the wall due to drunk fighting 😂 i’ve done this about 2 times but i usually forget how to use the texture spray. Last time i just sprayed it and the line in the beginning popped out as well but thankfully with primer and the paint of choice cleared it.
Awesome thanks for watching

Good shit Chris, got my wall lookin nice 👍🏻
That’s awesome happy to help
I have used this stuff in the past and noticed that the small wet "clumps", if you will, dry to about half of their original size. So, if the material looks to heavy right after application... Just wait for awhile to for the material to dry and THEN judge the result.
You wont have this problem with a redtail texture gun. And you're correct about it having clumps iv used this and other spray systems and they all have different issues
Very helpful thanks 😊
Thanks for watching
TY! Now I know what to buy!

Great video thanks so much
Thanks for watching
You want to use a circular spray pattern and it won't leave checker board lines in it. Spray orange peel or knockdown should always be in a circular pattern
Great advice
Well done 👍🏻
Thanks for this!
Thanks for watching pls subscribe
Nice video Chris
Thanks buddy
In my experience with that product, fine is more what I would call medium and heavy is, as you said, almost knock down.
Great video. I also like to soak can in hot water for few minutes to build pressure.
Always a good idea to warm up the cans thanks for watching
Thanks!
🤯 I had no idea you could buy this in a can very cool video
Thank ya for watching
Jeremy if you don't know where to buy this texture spray can I advise that you don't even attempt to use one.
Good video !

Would this blend well on a semi gloss bathroom wall small patch?
Appreciate that!!
Thanks for watching
I am so happy you didn't film the 10 minutes of shaking the can lol. I am going to see how well this works for me
Thanks for watching
Thank you
good job
For knock down texture you can just let this set up a short bit then lightly knock it down right?
I discovered by accident that Raptor truck bed coating the spray can version matches the texture on my drywall in my room
Good job
Thanks for watching
cool vid nice insight
Thanks for watching
Other videos on this technique suggested “very lightly” running a putty knife over the spray to “adhere” better to the wall. Is that a good idea? Again the emphasis is on the “very lightly,” as not to ruin the spray.
That’s for feathering it in. You don’t have to do that if you spray it on as he demonstrated in the video
Thanks bro
Thanks for watching
If you're going to use this stuff buy two cans so when the first can craps out halfway through you have another can to finish. If you go into a Sherwin-Williams or a Ben Moore store they have similar products that work better
Great comment I have definitely had that happen one time many times.
@@crdriscoll1 how much does a can typically cover?
@@Verdin2001
I can usually get a 4x4 ft. Area out of one can only if it’s not super thick texture
Yeah, but they have crapped out on me also. If you 90% out of a can, you are a lucky man, or woman..
Hi, . We had some heavy rain and then discovered a leak that thad damaged the ceiling in one small area. I've completed repairing the ceiling and now ready to texture the repair. Would you recommend: using a primer before or after spraying the texture. The area around the repair was painted with low gloss enamel. Your video was very helpful and really convinced me that I could do this myself. Your advice would be appreciated.
I would absolutely prime it. Will make a better bond. You could use the killz latex and will help to block out stains prior to painting
An almost perfect tutorial. All you needed to do was show the finished product 👌
Thanks for the compliment. Wish we could have got the painting part of the job but unfortunately we was called for a leak for a A/C drain that broke in that walls was asked to patch and make ready for paint. Will do an updated video coming soon.
Is this after you primer and paint the drywall?
