Okay, I'm going to try to breakdown some of the scenes for you guys -
There are three main races in the game - Terran, Zerg, and Protoss
First Trailer - Wings of Liberty (Terran)
The man's voice in the background is Arcturus Mengsk.
    2:02 - "Convict 626. Murderer, pirate, traitor."
The suit they're putting him in is for the unit "Marine". Most of these men are convicts and they "serve" their sentences in the form of service as marines.
4:31 - This a unit from the Zerg race called Hydralisk and they are BIG
4:33 - A flying unit from Terran called Viking. It can transform into a ground unit to use it's twin gattling guns.
    4:35 - Sarah Kerrigan
    4:38 - a pair of Mutalisk (Zerg)
4:45 - "Mister Findley". Now this guy tha they've put in the suit is a friend of Jim Raynor which is the love interest of Sarah Kerrigan. Mensk "contracted" him to kill Sarah so he can go free.
2nd Trailer - Heart of the Swarm (Zerg)
First of all, you need to know why this race is called The Swarm. They use overhelming numbers to obliterate their enemies... like in the millions or even trillions.
    5:37 - A pair of Vikings
5:40-5:51 - That massive thing that the vikings are attacking is called Leviathan. It's literally a giant flying unit. When I say giant, as in kilometers in size.
5:53 "I am the Swarm". This is Sarah Kerrigan, in Zerg Form. To give you some background about her. She's the "second in command" of Arcturus Mengsk. She was sent to help Jim to rescue some civilians and after a few missions they develop feelings for each other. In one mission, they were holding off an attack of both Zerg and Protoss but she was left for dead by Mengsk. Sarah has strong telepathic abilities which was sought by the Zerg that's why she was transformed into the Queen of Blades and is seeking revenge from Mengsk.
5:53 - This is a Zerg Drop Pod. There are thousands of them in the Leviathan which carries Zerg units. They use it to land into a planet during an invasion.
6:06 - Now you can see two dead marines. LOL! This planet being invaded is where the seat of power of Mengsk is in and they're trying to defend it from the Swarm.
6:18 - That's a Siege Tank trying to run away from an Ultralisk. Their size shown here is pretty accurate.
6:22 - There goes a Viking landing trying to fight the Ultralisk off.
6:30 Marines and Siege tank forming a defensive line. Good luck trying to break that in-game.
6:34 - Siege Tank going into Siege Mode. This mode gives them more damage and more power with reduced firing rate.
6:53 - A Nydus Worm emerges in the middle of the defensive line
6:58 - Marine crushed by an Ultralisk
7:02 - Statue of Mengsk being toppled by the Swarm
7:10 - A Battlecruiser crashing into the planet. Battlecruiser is the capital ship of Terrans. They are a size of a city.
7:41 - Sarah turns back into Human form (with the exception of the hair since there are still traces of Zerg DNA in her and she can still control the Swarm). It is not a flashback. In the ending of Wings of Liberty, Jim managed to save her and turned her back into Human form.
7:45 - You can see that she is being experimented on. They're trying to figure how she was able (still able) to control the Zerg Swarm.
Thrid trailer - Legacy of the Void (Protoss)
8:37 - "The Swarm brought ruin to our World. Our proud people became refugees. The Protoss homeworld of Aiur has been invaded by the Swarm. They were divided into two factions, Templar and Dark Templar. The Protoss race is "united" by the "Khala". It's like an energy flowing through all of Protoss which links all of their presence and thoughts to each other. The Dark Templar have severed their connection to the Khala and they were treated like traitors. When Aiur was invaded, the Templars were taken refuge by the Dark Templars and they have set aside their conflict since they have lost their homeworld. Now they are trying to take it back by invading it.
8:53 - Taldaris. Protoss hero who is a Khul'delar (I'm not sure of the spelling) which means they always go in first in battle.
8:58 - From left to right, High Templar, Zealot, Probe, Taldaris, High Templar, Zealot. High Templars have psionic attacks (which appears like lightning). Zealots are the main frontliners of the Protoss race, like the Marines for the Terrans but they use melee weapons called Psy Blades (the things glowing from their hands). Probes are the worker unit of Protoss. They are used to gather resources and build (teleport) their buildings into the battlefield.
9:04 - "For we are bound by the Khala". You can see their hair-like Nerve Cords light up. This means each of them knows what will the others will do. They are connected to each other through this.
9:23 - Probe is set to build (teleport a srtucture) which the rest are trying to defend.
9:30 - Banelings. These "gooey" things explodes on impact.
9:36 - Protoss units have shields. That's why this zealot takes two hits before it dies.
9:40 - You can see the shield deflecting some of the hits.
    9:52 - Zerg Swarm
9:54 - an Ultralisk pops up which greatly overpowers every protoss remaining
9:59 - To counter the Ultra, two High Templars melds into an Archon. This is a powerful unit with huge amounts of shields but very low HP. This scence always gives me the chills, from the very first time I saw this clip until today.
10:52 - Only Taldaris remains but still willing to fight.
10:56 - Remember the Probe? Well, it turns out, it built a Pylon. A Pylon is what powers Protoss structures and it gives them an area where they can teleport their forces on the ground. If 6 of them can fight off an attack like this, imagine what they can do now that they can teleport troops in the battlefied.
So, some of the terms are not 100% correct. Feel free to correct them.
This game is great. Been playing since it was released back in the 90's.

great breakdown, but on the protoss i want to add that at
9:40 you can see that blue light leaving the body. its a built in teleportation device in their armor so when they critically injured the mothership can pull them out and save them. and they can go back to war in a robot that they control.
10:00 one more thing. when the 2 high templar merge they became PURE energy(they even say power overwhelming) with extrem power but they can only keep this form for a brief time cuz this energy burns out fast. and this is a templars greatest sacrafice cuz they will be erased from existence when they burn out so they cant be saved.

The first one is the "wings of liberty ending" where you will find out what the guy from the first trailer, what they wanted him to do. -In case it's a bit confusing juggling the alien races, the human characters are called Terran (terra meaning earth) and are mostly comprised of prisoners (probably for optics so you don't feel bad tons of your human people are dying). The Terrans basically have realistic standards for future human technology and use mostly traditional military weapons. They have the potential to be psionicly powered (mind powers). Terrans are a balance of individual power and numbers, much like human they win through be adaptive and strategic tactics with their ranged weapons and ability to build anywhere without power or creep.
    .
-The Alien bugs that attack in huge numbers are called the Zerg (Think the movie starship troopers bug race) They have "Purity of essence" in that they have the biggest potential to evolve. Zerg are mostly mindless and are controlled by central brain bug entities called cerebrates although some feral non controlled Zerg do exist. Zerg can obtain psionics through assimilating (taking over) other races like Terrans where you see kerrigan the half woman half Zerg cerebrate. Zerg are weak on their own but rely on having tons more army units to overwhelm their enemies often though human wave attacks (sacrifice more guys to win with numbers). Zerg need purple goo to build on and power their buildings called creep.
    .
-The advanced blue aliens who look like traditional aliens are called the Protoss. They have "Purity of form" as in they have the greatest psionic potential (you see those guys who shoot lightning the high templar). Protoss are an advanced alien race, they use their long hair cords to speak to one another telepathically (speak with their thoughts directly to anothers mind) . They use advanced weapons like plasma shields and lasers and teleport forces into power fields. Protoss rely on robotics and small amounts of very strong units. Protoss need pylons (power plants) to power their buildings and teleport units in.

current Zergs were bio engineered from Primal Zergs, to make them obedient and controllable with a hivemind mentality. those engineered Zergs are pretty "harmless" on their own without a governing mind to direct them. But they still remain a threat. They could be compared a little to zombies in a sense, as they can infect anything that think by spreading spores in the air. Creep (purple goop) is also some kind of living tissue that could infect someone if they're not careful. Everything about the Zergs was to expand and multiply, at first, but then changed to get strong, and survive.

The last cinematic was showing of the tech advanced protoss and there invasion to take back there homeplanet of Aiur that was lost to the Zerg back in SC1. The "black hole" u called it is the building process of all protoss structures. A probe will start the construction and the building which will build itself after that initial start. At the end u saw the finished building called a Pylon. Protoss Pylons are the fundation of any protoss sctructure as they will create a power field around itself in an area and other building can then be build in that area. Should a pylon be destroyed any building then left without power will stop to function until a new pylon can be build powering it again.
The 2 units merging was 2 High Templars merging into an Archon. The same can be done with 2 Dark Templars. Dark Templars are stealth units with very high single target dmg but are also very fragile if detected by buildings/units that have stealth detection. High Templars are not cloaked but even more fragile, they are all about using regenerated energy to cast psyonic storms that deal massive aoe dmg. In the event that 2 high templars run out of energy in a fight or the stealthy dark templar no longer can sneak into an enemy base 2 of them can merge into 1 archon a ranged units with splash dmg, It does have very little hp but just as all protoss units it has an enery shield that the enemy need to break before getting to its hp. But an archon has a very large shield. The shield effect can be seen on this Zealot 09:35 as it is blocking the dmg from the zerg banelings.
At the very end u se the Pylon finishing. Protoss have a warp in machanic due to there high tech. So the initial force was send there to secure the construction of that Pylon and the moment that energy field was created by the pylon all forces in orbit hade the ability to be instantly warped in to the battlefield. This mechanic is what makes Protoss so tricky to deal with in-game. Any protoss infantry can be deployed onto the battlefield as long as there is a friendly power field in that area. Including the enemys base if u managed to sneak a probe in there to build a pylon.

Some context for last cinematic is that the Protoss (the blue and yellow aliens with lightsaber blades) love their homeworld planet, Aiur. There's nothing more important to them than Aiur. It's always been like that. The fact that they fled their planet is their biggest regret, they would've rather die than fled, but they were convinced just before it to flee to other places as refugees with the idea of retaking it on the future. And so, years later, they form a campaign to take back their beloved and sacred Aiur. Their most famous and important phrase, as well as their warcry, is "my life for Aiur."

Kerrigan was left to die to the swarm by Mengsk in SC1. The swarm took her instead and made her into their leader. The prisoner in the first cinematic (Tychus) was sent to get close to Kerrigan's "lover" Raynor and take her out if they managed to turn Kerrigan back (which they did but Raynor executed Tychus). The 2nd cinematic is Kerrigan foreseeing the future where she again gets control of the swarm but this time she is only against Mengsk and not all humans or creation. When they cut back to current time she is a guinea pig in a lab and still has the ability to control some of the swarm.

The Protoss (the aliens retaking their homeworld) can fuse units to become an Archon. But you need two Templar units. The ones in the video are High Templar (the lightning and floating around gives that away). The other Templar units are Dark Templar which act as assassins.
The Daelaam Protoss are united by the Khala which is what they call the connection they have to each other that lets them feel the thoughts and emotions of other Protoss, draw on the memories of long dead Protoss (this becomes relevant to the Protoss arc of the game's story), and lets some fuel their psionic powers with the power of all other Protoss (which is what the High Templar do).
The Dark Templar valued their individuality and privacy very much and so they saw the Khala as something unnatural. So they cut their nerve cords (the long braid like things coming off the head of every Protoss) and in doing so, they severed their connection to the Khala. They were outcast and exiled from Aiur (the Protoss homeworld) and found refuge on the world of Shakuras. But what's even more interesting about the Dark Templar is how they survive without the Khala. The Protoss don't eat (in no small part due to the lack of a mouth) so the "normal" Protoss actually sustain themselves off the energy of the Khala itself, which is also amplified by Khaydarin crystals. Since they Dark Templar cut themselves off from the Khala, they learned to draw strength from the latent energies of the Void (which is a sort of dimension that exists between space).

    So à quick intro:
Wings of Liberty - you pretty much got it guys so good job!
Heart of the Swarm: So the main character here is Kerrigan, and about her dream it's hard to say if it's a prophesy or a memory cause she was human, left alone while the swarm attacked and they transformed her. She became some kind of leader of the swarm's forces but her boyfriend bringed her back human. The person who left her - Mengsk then wanted to kill her boyfriend cause he is a rebel and Kerrigan though he did. She returned to the swarm to take her revenge. Pretty much that's it.
Legacy of the Void - the swarm conquered the protoss's world (the blue guys in golden armor) and they decided to finally retake it after decades. That was a hit squad with one purpose : protect the blackhole thing which grows up into a building. That building (A Pylon) creates power sourse so other protoss can warp in on the ground. The goo was acid, yes in-game you can morph those guys but they are not different players, they are part of your army and the guy with hurt was a general, well-known in the first game.
    Happy you enjoyed them!

The "hell its about time" its pretty relevant to knowing how old starcraft 1 is. It came out in 1998. It was an extremely popular game where pro players made lots of money, especially in the country of korea where they were considered celebrities and starcraft was regularly shown on TV, and also in the back ground of movies/TV series. 12 years later they finally come out with STARCRAFT 2, which I feel like the "hell its about time" that they gave a shit about one of the best RTS games in existant (real time strategy).

The cinematics will become more awesome 10x if you know the backstory, and you’ll also understand why the characters look that way or are at the situation they are in now.

They're a bit old by now, but go back and watch some of the SC1 and Brood Wars cinematics, they're great.
Short explanation, the first guy you see is Tychus Findlay, he's a former marine that went rogue and was imprisoned by Arcturus Mengsk who's the same character that also set him free (and the voice that talks in the background).
The lady is called Sarah Kerrigan, she's the Queen of Blades and the de facto leader of the Zerg (the bug-like race) army, she seeks revenge on Arcturus Mengsk for abondoning her during a critical mission, she was however turned back to a human and lost about 90% of her powers, her powers later returns though (which is what you see in her dream).
The blue-ish guys are called Protoss, they're a heavily technologically advanced race, and if they're next to a pylon they can warp from ANY place in the universe, also if they're mortally wounded they're instantly teleported away from the battlefield and will be fixed, the only exception are the Archons, since it requires two High Templars (or Dark Templars) to sacrifice themselves however they'll get extreme powers in return (though it's mostly only used as a last resort).

So you may have already noticed this but a lot of sci fi games have a trifecta of factions that follow a template. This isn't always the only three nor are these ironclad, but you'll basically find at least these three peoples in these games:
The Earthlings (usually strong to Proud Warriors[develop anti-shielding tech] but weak to Plague[little to no protection from infection])
    -Kinetic, slug-based weaponry
    -Blocky, square-based structure
    -Physical armor
-Examples: Humans (Halo series), Grineer (Warframe), Terrans (Starcraft)
The Proud Warriors (Usually strong to Plague[plasma burns it away] but weak to Humans[underestimate their ingenuity for warfare])
-Energy or plasma weaponry; usually has guns but often engages in melee with plasma swords
    -Flowing, rounded structure
    -Energy shielding
-Screams about Honor and Glorious Battle
-Examples: Elites (Halo series), Tenno (Warframe), Protoss (Starcraft)
The Plague (Usually strong to Humans[infects them easily] but weak to Proud Warriors[energy shielding prevents infectious contact])
-Biological weaponry, such as spines, claws, tentacles
-Organic, flesh-based structures built out of literally themselves
-Infects the other peoples and takes them over
-Main advantage is seemingly endless numbers of fodder
-Examples: The Flood (Halo Series), The Infested (Warframe), The Zerg Swarm (Starcraft)

The old Dominion forces actually used criminals for a part of their armed forces, some Marines were murderers, rebels or pirates given solitary containment and forced conscription. Reapers were essentially junkies on stimulants given forced purpose to combat using jetpacks and usually their deaths weren't as important. Finally they even had Hellbats who were known pyromaniacs and arsonists who got high off the chemicals and fumes they used against their targets. It was a very messed up system but that forced conscription was in a way needed against the Zerg and Protoss considering what they are and their capabilities. This conscription system changed later down the line but not until Legacy of the Void.

In the last cinematic, the two guys who fused together were Protoss High Templar. The Protoss are an ancient and highly technologically advanced race of psychic aliens. The Templar are master of psionics - in extreme circumstances, two Templar can merge their consciousness, forming a being of vast psychic power, an Archon. You can absolutely do this in the game. Starcraft is an RTS (real time strategy) game, which is basically a bit like command and conquer or red alert. Most units in the game are recruited/built from structures, but the only way to get Archons is to train two high Templar and then merge them (which takes time). One nice touch in the cinematic is that the Archon says 'power overwhelming'when it first disintegrates the zerglings (the little bug things). Power Overwhelming was a cheat code in the original Starcraft game which made your units invincible.

Starcraft 2 is a Real Time Strategy (RTS) style of game. Starcaft 1, which is the prequel game, is undoubtedly the Godfather of RTS of our generation. The game-play (Top down bird's eye view), consists of the player being in charge of building your own base to making your own army to fight against your opponent in selected/limited map. It is the 'Most Intensive 1 vs 1' game as of today's gaming standard and high end players are required to have INSANE amount of Micro + Macro management skills, where to the point the retired pro players were recruited by Korean Air Force.
These trailers are highly detailed and rendered 'Street Eye' version of the actual game play. And yes they are awesome and the whole fan base does wish for a full complete movie from Blizzard Entertainment one day.

    Information about the trailers:
Minor Spoilers for Starcraft 1 and Starcraft 2 campaign(s)
W.O.L. (Wings Of Liberty): Tychus Findley led a group of bandits called the "Heavens's Devils", basically he robbed, killed, and made a pretty big name for himself. One day, he and his crew were captured, and he took the fall for his team. After being put on ice for a couple years (That's where the cryogenics came from), he was turned into a Marine. The Dominion, and before it the Terran Confederacy, uses prisoners as its main infantry units, they change their brain to make them slightly less aggressive towards civilians (Basically to keep them from murdering their officers), and send them off to die.
H.O.T.S. (Heart Of The Swarm): Basically, the Queen of Blades, also known as Kerrigan, once was a human Ghost, think a highly trained assassin. After her betrayal by the current Terran Dominion Emperor, Arcturus Mengsk, she was transferred into a Zerg, the Queen of Blades. She basically moves to kill everything and everyone. At the end of the W.O.L. campaign, she is turned back into a Human.
L.O.T.V. (Legacy Of The Void): Alright, onto the Protoss. In Starcraft 1, the swarm was led over to their homeworld of Aiur, a utopia. After the fall of Aiur, they abandoned it and left to another planet, Shakurus, home of the Dark Templar (Protoss that cut themselves off from the Light of the Kala, I'd actually argue that they're better than the normal Protoss). They've kinda been minding their own buisness, building up their forces to retake their homeworld, which is what your seeing right now.
So yeah, the rest you can figure out by playing the game

There are equally high-quality cinematics in the games as well - each game would be easily a full episode for you, you should check them out. It will add a lot of context. As for those fusing units, they are called High Templar, they're basically psychic casters and two of them can sacrifice themselves to form an Archon (the bigger guy). These games are strategy games, so you control entire armies, not just single units.
