The Khala allows them to see fallen protoss thoughts and connect to eachother mind to mind. The black hole was a warp in for a pylon. Pylons create powerfields that can allow protoss forces to be warped into the field at very fast rates. I hope this explains something but the lore goes very in-depth and I would recommend watching all of the in-game cutscenes to understand what is going on.
Funny thing about archons in lore is that they are temporary... They are RIDICILUSLY STRONG... but all that power burns out very quickly... so the Protoss don't make the decision to create them lightly... Every Templar who becomes an archon has their name recorded in the templar archives, which is the structure you need to warp in High Templar...

warning you now this comment is going to be a long one to explain this cinematic properly: in the opening the narrator talking is Artanis, hierarch of the remaining Protoss race, a race of alien beings highly advanced in both physical abilities and technology, the protoss were the firstborn race of the xel'naga, god like beings who exist outside of time and space who used to inhabit the 'void' one of the xel'naga who fell from grace named Amon was hellbent on destroying all that his brethren had created in the universe so he birthed the Zerg into this universe and since time began the zerg and protoss have been at war, the zerg is a hivemind species controlled by a single powerful being after they reached the protoss homeworld of Aiur one of the greatest of the protoss race Tassadar sacrificed himself to destroy the zerg hivemind controlling the zerg swarm and the protoss race abandoned their home planet and the remnants of the zerg invasion were left there to ravage the planet and turn feral after being left without leadership, the narration is just a brief explanation of what happened to the protoss and why they left Aiur to begin with. in the initial shot of the protoss there are 2 high templar (the ones that are floating wearing capes and using psionic lightning attacks), a few zealots (basic foot soldiers of the protoss wielding psi blades) a probe which is the basic worker unit for the protoss (uses warpgate technology to warp in a power pylon which allows the protoss to warp in reinforcements once the pylon has finished warping in). unlike the zerg the protoss are all unique individuals with their own personalities and do not require any kind of hivemind type leadership, however through the khala they all share in each others pain/happiness/sorrw/joy etc and this is represented in the cinematic by the wave of blue coloured energy passing from one protoss to the next through their nerve cords also after the opening ambush by the zerg you see the 3 banelings rush the pylon under construction and a zealot charges them to stop them, normally foot soldiers would never engage a baneling as when they explode they shower toxic acid everywhere, but in order to protect the pylon the zealot uses his blade to kill the first one, burns his protective energy shield to force the second one to explode and the final one he sacrifices his physical body to prevent it reaching the pylon and in that moment you see his consciousness leave his body, and through the khala all the other protoss in the area 'feel' his death as if it were them dying. as the battle goes on a feral ultralisk emerges from underground these behemoth creatures are extremely powerful and can easily destroy many soldiers on their own either by trampling them or using their great scythe like jaws as weapons. it should be noted here that what happens next, in lore, is something that is only done as an absolute last resort option and not all high templar are capable of performing an archon fusion, in game of course you can make as many as you want assuming you have the resources to do so but anyway, the high templar see just how overwhelmed they are and decide to merge to become an archon, a being born of pure psionic energy that quickly burns out over time, after seeing they can't beat the ultralisk they decide to 'go out with a bang' and burn through the entire remainder of their psionic energy reserves in one go causing the implosion that takes the ultralisk with them. after all that the pylon finishes construction and the troops begin being warped to the battlefield and that's where the cinematic ends off.
Probably Blizzard's best. That shot when the Baneling crashed into the Zealot and broke his Plasma Shield... the level of detail in the animation is just incredible.
The Void is a reference to the main antagonist of the game, Amon. Esentially, both the aliens (Protoss) and the insects (Zerg) were experiments of a fallen civilization (Xel'Naga, the zerg killed them), and Amon is the only survivor, or at least that's the setup. He wants to mind control everyone, so eventually everyone has to team up to fight Amon, who's been in the Void for eons. The portal that the probe opened is actually a Warp Rift, and the zerg were just trying to close it so they couldn't all beam down at the end. The energy blades and shields they use is actually just psionic, although it might also be partially technological, I'm not exactly sure. One of the major themes of the game is how the Protoss share a psychic connection through their pony tails/ Nerve Cords, that allows them to feel what others feel and know what the others know. Amon uses it to control them it's a whole thing.
In Starcraft 1, the Zerg found the homeworld of the Protoss (thats the name of these aliens, the blue-faced guys with gold armor.) Zerg and Protoss are ancient, mortal enemies due to the machinations of their mutual gods, the Xel'Naga. The Zerg of course dont believe in gods, they're pure aggression, volatile biology and instinct all rolled up in one. The term "Legacy of the Void" refers to these gods, it has nothing to do with what you see in the video. The Protoss myths say that their gods reside in the Void. Now, what you DO see in this video is the "Akhundelar", a Protoss word meaning "Tip of the Spear." In modern terms, you would call them the vanguard forces. Their sole goal is to make certain that a foothold on Aiur is established so that the man who is speaking in the background, Artanis, can retake the homeworld for his people. The Protoss with the scar across his eye is called Kaldalis, he leads this vanguard force. (Spoiler, he doesn't survive). Now I wont run through much of what happens in the protoss campaign (that would be very much spoilers) but I will say that Artanis has to go on a journey to seek out the gods or at the very least their legacy. Hence the title. Kerrigan and her swarm makes an appearance, as does the Terrans. Unfortunately, Tychus does not show up.
@Qimodis No, warping in is just a fancy word for teleportation. What gets teleported/warped in exists somewhere else in the galaxy already. The Void exists OUTSIDE the known universe. Void energies is possible to siphon through means known only to the Protoss and Xel'Naga but they are lethal to all forms of life since whats outside the universe is anti-existence. Antimatter, anti-energy etc. Warp does not use it, but some facets of protoss technology uses it.
There are only 3 race: Terrans /Humans(has guns and transforming Vehicles), Zergs (alien bugs with too many different sizes and capabilities) and Protoss (super advanced blue squid-faced aliens with technology that uses the power of the void and stars) In First Trailer is where the terrans/humans prepare for the coming war. In the Second, the Swarm(Zergs) Invades a Human/Terran Colony. In the 3rd, the Protoss finally reclaims their homeworld after losing it the Zerg. Nice Reaction . . . Check out "Kerrigans Betrayal" Cinematic it is very epic.
@Cyrus Asercion Arent the zerg good at early game? considering they can easily get a horde of zerglings out when you have quite a small force of units. Ig it depends on the player though.
I love your videos,. StarCraft is by far one of my favorite games so its been very entertaining to watch you guys react to these cinematics. the lore goes back years and its hilarious to listen you guys try to figure out what you are watching. the lore simply here is the Zerg(the bugs/insects) conquered the protoss's(the advanced aliens) homeworld a few years back. this cinematic is them taking the first step in ridding their homeworld of the zerg.(it would be like if humans lost earth to an alien race and then came back to conquer it later) the black hole void thing that appeared out of no where was a warp conduit. basically it marked that location so that they could warp in the structure(called a pylon) and warp in an army to fight the zerg, the zerg were trying to destroy it to prevent the army coming in. The full lore for starcraft 1 and 2 is massive but it is so good. love the video.
Ok, background: First, you got it right that the bugs (Zerg) took over the aliens' (Protoss) homeworld, and the aliens were coming back to take back their homeworld. That's the starting point here. Second, the aliens have this energy field that they get to use, it's how they make the shields and stuff that you noticed, but it also lets them teleport things... but mostly only to places where the energy field is extra strong. The big crystal thing that appears at the end is a pylon (You must construct additional pylons), which makes a strong enough energy field that they can teleport in. So what's going on in this trailer is that they have a small strike force, just a few of the aliens, trying to build that one pylon that shows up at the end so they can teleport in a bigger army. That black hole thing is how they make pylons (it's actually teleporting in, pylons are special in that they can teleport in without having another one first). So they're just trying to protect the pylon while it's teleporting in. That's the whole goal of the aliens here, they're sacrificing themselves doing things like running straight at bugs that explode on contact, because then at the end a huge army can teleport in to build off of this tiny foothold to take back their home.
i love sc 2 lore and the game i am protoss player bought all the sc books released. i even wrote short stories about sc 2 i am playing sc brood wars since 20 years ago old school hard core gamer. when i see the passion these 3 ppl are showing while watching the cinematic for the first time, i feel tears in my eyes. for aiur.
The Void is a dark, cold manifestation of space, separate from the material universe. It is not a planet or a people. The thing that was being summoned in was an Energy Pylon that allows the Protoss (The Aliens....side not The Zerg are also Aliens) to summon units & construct buildings.
May I recommend some other cinematics that will show you more of the story? The Betrayal on Kerrigan, The Story of Kerrigan (this one is multiple in one, but it is missing the others I am naming), Zeratul vs Kerrigan, Kerrigan vs Narud. (Useful clue, whenever Kerrigan's eyes are orange it means that she is "Possesed" or controlled by an evil power called Amon, when they are purple she is free) From legacy of the void there are some other cinematics that explain what happens next, if you are interested.
at 2:45 is a one eyed Zealot hero his one of the characters from the Lore , he was send to defend the first wave , his name is Keldalis. His a friend of a Leader of Protoss ! 1-The little Ball looking Alien at 3:17 is a "PROBE" aka Worker that summons Pylon , Pylon is a type of energy for them to summon more soldiers anywhere as long as that Pylon builds. (So they were defending that Pylon as it was building itself) 2- At 3:25 you see a armored Zealot being charged with 3 rolly pollys they explode on contact , the warriors have extra shield and they die from 1 hit , so he hit one , used shield for second and then third one killed him. So he sacrificed himself so the group lives! 3-At 3:50 is a big unit Ultralisk aka Elephant. 4-At 3:55 two are High Templars they are like "Zeratul" but "High not Dark" Templar basically Mages , they combine together to become Archon...
Sound so funny what they are guessing from just seeing a game trailer made for people who have actually played the game :D. It's like 1800's born human first time seeing a plane reaction.
this fucking game always brought the tear to my eye, when i reached Masters after 6 year, when i saw this cinematic. So much Happiness, and now they ceased the continued production of content. Never has my heart been broken like this.
Man i cry with you. Starcraft is just beautiful in every aspect and the game is good too bad people who are not good just give up because the game itself its too complicated to the lazy and simple brain.
The energy running thru them is the Khala. A force that binds their thoughts and emotions. It’s used by most factions of the Protoss including the Khalai, and the Tal’darim. The Void is what gives strength to another Protoss faction called the Nerazim also known as the Dark Templar. Overall, the Protoss as a race value honor, tradition, and unity. A few notable Protoss include: Adun, an ancient hero of legend. Tassadar, a powerful templar who used the power of the khala and the void to unite the Protoss and eventually sacrificed himself to destroy the Zerg Overmind. Zeratul, a famous dark templar who helped Tassadar harness the power of the void and would later help future leaders of the Protoss. Artanis, Hierarch of the Daelaam and current leader of the Protoss. He is considered one of the greatest warriors they have ever known.
I cant :D I just love your comments and everyone has another theory, I love the sweet confusion :D also, since LotV is one of the best cinematics our there, I just keep coming back to this reaction :D

The White guy...woof I could watch you react to paint drying. The Girl: I love the subtle fade you do with your bangs length. ON POINT HONEY, looks fine. VERY Elsa.
The Protoss (aliens) were created long ago by the Xel'naga, a race of creatures that live outside of normal space-time in The Void. The Zerg (bugs) were also created by them, embodying a purity of essence, whereas the Protoss embodied purity of form. Eventually the two would come into conflict, and whichever race came out on top was to be deemed worthy by the Xel'naga and raised up to BECOME new Xel'naga. Amon, one of the Xel'naga, sought more power, however, and introduced a darkness into the Zerg: the Overmind, which turned them into the Swarm, which the primal Zerg on Zerus despised because they were being controlled instead of free to seek the survival of the fittest. The Protoss are psionic and technologically advanced. They fought many wars between tribes on their homeworld of Aiur long ago, until the Khala was established, unifying their race with a psionic net that allowed them to work together. All Protoss units can project psionic energy shields to protect themselves that will regenerate over time. Zealots are the frontline warriors with twin psi-blades, High Templar can project storms of psionic energy to rip apart enemies, and two of them can sacrifice their individual forms to combine into an Archon, a being of powerful psionic might. The Zerg were too much for the Protoss, however, due to sheer numbers. Strong individually, the Protoss couldn't match the hive-mind's control of billions of Zerg to overwhelm all of their defenses and destroy their civilization. The Conclave, the ruling body of the Protoss, fled to Shakuras, a dark planet where their long exiled brethren, the Dark Templar, had made their home. The Dark Templar did not partake in the Khala, and found strength in their individuality and their mastery of Void energies, which ultimately aided them in combating the Zerg. A brave Executor of the Conclave known as Tassadar ended up saving his people from extinction, as he learned to use the Dark Templar's energies in tandem with the High Templar, which allowed them to destroy the cerebrates controlling the various Zerg broods (overlords subject to the will of the Overmind), and ultimately he piloted his Carrier wreathed in such energy into the central mass of the Overmind and destroyed it, causing the Zerg to scatter, leaderless. The Protoss yearn to retake their homeworld of Aiur, and now with the brave disciple of Tassadar leading them, Hierarch Artanis has begun the task by bringing the Golden Fleet to the planet and sending an expeditionary strike force to establish a beachhead (the pylon that was warped in by the robot Probe, it projects a psi-field that allows them to teleport more troops in instantly). That is where the expansion begins.

There is so much lore before this game I can’t even imagine the thought process of someone watching this out of the blue 😂 that knows nothing of this story .
I would recommend playing Starcraft 1 to get the back story, then playing Starcraft 2 (SC2) to get the full story. Granted Starcraft 1 doesn't have the best cinematics by today's standards, but back then it was cutting edge. But even then to this day Starcraft 1's gameplay is really top notch, dwarfed only by Starcraft 2.
8:00 I wouldn't really call him a war criminal, mainly because he doesn't have the authority to do war crimes (and also their rules of war are probably very different at that point in space and time). He was, for lack of a better term, a thug or high-level gangster by the time of the first trailer. He does later steal and commandeer a very large war machine, though, for what that's worth.
You guys should react to the most badass fmv in all Starcraft: Artanis fighting several Zerg and a voice saying he's become a Dark Templar, the he just walks alway as an explosion is in the background. Tl:DR: cool guys don't look at explosions. ;)
Sorry folks, but a good reaction video shouldn't have you missing content because you can't hear it over your own exclamations. This is why people use headphones or earbuds. The two best parts of this cinematic: the explanation of the Khala, and the merging of the templars you missed and had questions about later because you didn't hear what was said. Also, I cannot believe this dude just compared an Archon forming to a power ranger. I mean just....wow.
I'm depressed that they skipped everything but the trailers. They're trailers with literally no story, just hype. If you want to know the actual story, watch the in-game cutscenes.
Ok when you like say they're like power rangers I just cringe and cry at the same time. So pleaseee watch all the cutscenes if you really want to know the whole storyline I promise it's really good, and if you're doing it on youtube I suggest you make a live stream watching it

Just saying, don't talk over the dialogue and actually listen carefully if you want to understand it. It will help grow your channel. Recap if you need to and ask questions after. It would keep the comments going.
That guy in the middle is Asian and yet the title says non-gamers.. There is not a single Asian guy who has not played SC/SC2. "That's the Queen"... oh wow.. WAOW.. Ok, that's the Queen, sure..:P

i was soo frustrated watching you "react" to all three trailers of SC II... while you have no knowledge of the thing you're about to react to, be it a movie, game, tv series, whatever... and then you go TALK OVER IT, and you still know nothing, and you hear nothing that is said in the trailer/opening/ending because YOU TALK... how the hell are you to react properly to the thing you see and hear for the first time?! so annoying...

in the initial shot of the protoss there are 2 high templar (the ones that are floating wearing capes and using psionic lightning attacks), a few zealots (basic foot soldiers of the protoss wielding psi blades) a probe which is the basic worker unit for the protoss (uses warpgate technology to warp in a power pylon which allows the protoss to warp in reinforcements once the pylon has finished warping in).

Antimatter, anti-energy etc. Warp does not use it, but some facets of protoss technology uses it.
There are only 3 race:
Terrans /Humans(has guns and transforming Vehicles),
Zergs (alien bugs with too many different sizes and capabilities) and
Protoss (super advanced blue squid-faced aliens with technology that uses the power of the void and stars)
In First Trailer is where the terrans/humans prepare for the coming war.
Zerg:whats its mentioned
Protoss:whats also mentioned
Terran:GUN'S!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We're so glad you like our reactions! It means so much to us:D Thank you for the kind message and for the lore explanation!💓
"So there's a feud going on..." - Yes, my boy, there sure is. Welcome to StarCraft
Ok, background:
First, you got it right that the bugs (Zerg) took over the aliens' (Protoss) homeworld, and the aliens were coming back to take back their homeworld.
That's the whole goal of the aliens here, they're sacrificing themselves doing things like running straight at bugs that explode on contact, because then at the end a huge army can teleport in to build off of this tiny foothold to take back their home.
i love sc 2 lore and the game i am protoss player bought all the sc books released. i even wrote short stories about sc 2
i am playing sc brood wars since 20 years ago old school hard core gamer.
when i see the passion these 3 ppl are showing while watching the cinematic for the first time, i feel tears in my eyes. for aiur.
The Void is a dark, cold manifestation of space, separate from the material universe. It is not a planet or a people. The thing that was being summoned in was an Energy Pylon that allows the Protoss (The Aliens....side not The Zerg are also Aliens) to summon units & construct buildings.
That is how they build their structures in-game and the Khala in more like the collective thought of their entire race.
shes like "OH WOW¡" (with sleepy face on it)... hahah
"Its like power rangers" at templars sacrificing themselves to turn into archon 😂😂😂
They are technologically-advanced psychic Na'vi.
at 2:45 is a one eyed Zealot hero his one of the characters from the Lore , he was send to defend the first wave , his name is Keldalis. His a friend of a Leader of Protoss !
1-The little Ball looking Alien at 3:17 is a "PROBE" aka Worker that summons Pylon , Pylon is a type of energy for them to summon more soldiers anywhere as long as that Pylon builds. (So they were defending that Pylon as it was building itself)
2- At 3:25 you see a armored Zealot being charged with 3 rolly pollys they explode on contact , the warriors have extra shield and they die from 1 hit , so he hit one , used shield for second and then third one killed him. So he sacrificed himself so the group lives!
3-At 3:50 is a big unit Ultralisk aka Elephant.
4-At 3:55 two are High Templars they are like "Zeratul" but "High not Dark" Templar basically Mages , they combine together to become Archon...
Loved the reaction as always! I'd definitely recommend some of the in game cinematics, specifically the betrayal of Kerrigan
Sweet thank you for watching and for the recommendation!
the gril is definitely a hardcore sc2 player
I never clicked on a video this fast. SC2 lore and G-mineo 🧡
Sound so funny what they are guessing from just seeing a game trailer made for people who have actually played the game :D. It's like 1800's born human first time seeing a plane reaction.
You sure that guy in the middle never played starcraft? My man looks like he came straight out of a 8 hour ranked grind session.
The length of this trailer is approximately how long it takes to warp in/construct a Pylon (that large floating crystal).
this fucking game always brought the tear to my eye, when i reached Masters after 6 year, when i saw this cinematic.
A few notable Protoss include:
Adun, an ancient hero of legend.
I had to like the video just on the intro alone. "And I" lol
Enjoying the content guys keep it going!
Thank you!💓
I cant :D I just love your comments and everyone has another theory, I love the sweet confusion :D also, since LotV is one of the best cinematics our there, I just keep coming back to this reaction :D
Enjoying the continued Starcraft reactions! Recently been on a Baldur's Gate 3 binge and would love to see you guys react to it.
The Asian guy (sorry I havent been watching long enough to know yall's names yet) is easily and by a wide margin the funniest guy on your channel.
The White guy...woof I could watch you react to paint drying.
The Girl: I love the subtle fade you do with your bangs length. ON POINT HONEY, looks fine. VERY Elsa.
Marc is killing me with his high notes😍 so much talent!
Guys you should play the storyline.
That is where the expansion begins.
hi guys, i would love to see you watch other of the sc2 trailers, so i left some of them here

keep up with the good work :)
before watch that cinematic you must watch StarCraft II: Legacy of the Void - Reclamation
Hi
You should watch Astartes 1-5 , it's a great work of a single person! The video is base on Warhammer 40k universe.
Look at Hailey learning she's becoming a real gamer
Hi Level Big Hay right here..She's entering her prime💪
the last expansion of StarCraft 2 and the last chapter of the StarCraft Universe, sad they discontinued the support a few days ago
Legacy of the void alone cinematic is pretty good too
8:00 I wouldn't really call him a war criminal, mainly because he doesn't have the authority to do war crimes (and also their rules of war are probably very different at that point in space and time). He was, for lack of a better term, a thug or high-level gangster by the time of the first trailer. He does later steal and commandeer a very large war machine, though, for what that's worth.
I get the fealing u guys dont play any Video games. Based on the titles with all the "Non-... Players"
That 'blue energy' that u said 'connecting' them is the Khala, ehich means their minds and thoughts are one, shared between each other.
Lol, the old extremely mean tactic of using a phantom that has a healer and shield generator to hold off the advancement for a nasty counter attack 🤣
So just for a bit basic knowlege :)
These "bugs" are called the zerg.
The "aliens" are called protoss.
"I STILLLL BELIEVEEE.... and iii" Oh Marc smh
y'all were hittin the notes and fuckin it up in every way tho, It's Gmineo Bitch!
Love all your reactions. Any chance you'll do Star Wars: The Old Republic or Dark Souls cinematics?
👀👀👀
@@GMineo 🤞😎🤞
With the amount of you guys being clueless here, whole books could be filled with. Have been filled actually :D
I'm depressed that they skipped everything but the trailers. They're trailers with literally no story, just hype. If you want to know the actual story, watch the in-game cutscenes.
react to Starcraft 2 Legacy of the Void In-Game Cinematic [HD] - Zeratul vs. Artanis Fight
Do check out the in game cutscene, Zerathul vs Kerrigan
My wife for hire!
It hurts that they don’t have the background knowledge
Completely unrelated but you guys didn't reacted to *Noxus after victory animated short story* , maybe one day :')
Ok when you like say they're like power rangers I just cringe and cry at the same time. So pleaseee watch all the cutscenes if you really want to know the whole storyline I promise it's really good, and if you're doing it on youtube I suggest you make a live stream watching it
If you would be quiet and listen to the monolog in the cinematic most of your questions would have been answered
pLease React tooo whole cinematic cut scene of Legacy Of the Void ( Star Craft 2 ) uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu willl love it im 100% Sure u have to do it watch the whole cutscene in the game it explain everything
It would be awesome if you guys reacted to the planetside 2 cgi trailer its an amazing trailer
Better to watch the whole cinematic gameplay of Starcraft it’ll help understand the story Better
POWER OVERWHELMING
💪💪💪💪
Just saying, don't talk over the dialogue and actually listen carefully if you want to understand it. It will help grow your channel. Recap if you need to and ask questions after. It would keep the comments going.
Also, the zerg are not insects.
Every world you said was wrong. They never said there names Protoss and Zerg.
A chinese guy who doesn't know about Starcarft?....IMPOSSIBLE!!
y'all screwing up the lore from heart of the swarm is simultaneously agonizing and pure hilarity. its like dying twice at the same time give me more
Without Sc 1 and Ingame cinematics of Sc 2 you wont get anything
That guy in the middle is Asian and yet the title says non-gamers..
There is not a single Asian guy who has not played SC/SC2.
"That's the Queen"... oh wow.. WAOW.. Ok, that's the Queen, sure..:P
That thing in the middle. Is that a male or a female?
U should play StarCraft 2.
Try to react to the This is War series by Falconshield. It features League of Legends champions in a cool music video.

How the fish your teeth are so White tho?
A steady dose of reacting to videos and Bang Energy... 4/5 dentists would recommend

i was soo frustrated watching you "react" to all three trailers of SC II... while you have no knowledge of the thing you're about to react to, be it a movie, game, tv series, whatever... and then you go TALK OVER IT, and you still know nothing, and you hear nothing that is said in the trailer/opening/ending because YOU TALK... how the hell are you to react properly to the thing you see and hear for the first time?!
so annoying...
What ~?
guy on left looks fake for some reason
En Taro Zeratul
you would get more popular if you didnt prefer to listen to your own voices instead listening to the dialogue in the video.
Guy on left, learn to be in focus, guy in the middle you are too loud and your glasses are making glare, girl on the right, dont dress to impress.
