the zerg she controlled as the queen of blades killed over 8 billion Terrans and millions of protoss across the brood war. the Zerg killed even more Protoss before the brood war on the homeworld of Aiur
Storty Summary to the finale of the Heart of the Swarm: Starcraft/Starcraft Brood war: The Ghost (she has psionic abilities) Sarah Carrigan and Jim Raynor were the revolutionaries whom Megsk recruted so that he could usurp power over the Human Dominion. Sarah and Jum fall in love along the way. Mengs seized power, but Sarah was caprured by the Zerg Overmind and turned it into the Queen of Blades. Carrigan then conqered the protoss homeworld and protos leader Tasadar sacrificed himself to destroy the Overmind. After that Carrigan became the sole lord of the zerg swarm. Jim started a new revolution but this time against Mengsk. Starcraft 2 Wings of Liberty/Starcraft Heart of the Swarm: JIm's revolution continues. Zeratul(Dark prelat of protoss/"best bro of Jim") finds out that only Queen of Blade can defeat the xelnaga Amon that seeks to destroy everything. So he gives Jim way to bring Sarah back. Jim uses xelnaga artifact and revert zergs changes(not completely). Sara more of less human at the end of WoL. Sarah agreed to leave with Jim but got kidnaped but Mengsk forces. Fake news says that Jim was executed. Sarah decided to put down Mengs for good and so she need power to do so and later defeat xelnaga.Zeratul helping her on the way. She go to zerg home world and put herself in the chrysalis and becon Queen of Blades ones again. Later she finds out that Jim is alive and rescuing him. Sarah invades Dominion capital and with Jims help kills Mengsk and leavs to prepere to fight xelnaga. ps. Xel'naga is race of old cosmic creatures that altered protoss and zergs.
Something to Remember, these cutscenes often have campaign missions between them where a bunch of stuff happens. Like when they Killed Mengsk and Raynor suddenly showed up, the mission beforehand had him show up and help siege Mengsks fortress so it wasn't surprising to have him show up at the end. And to put some events into order as well as make clear some events from Starcraft 1 and its expansion Broodwar, which take place a few years before Wings of liberty. * The evil Xel Naga Amon went to the primal Zerg, created a hivemind and enslaved them to it, designating the Overmind as the one in charge. The Hivemind also forces extreme aggression on the Zerg affected, leading to them going out to kill all other races as is Amon's desire. Amon eventually dies for some reason Many eons later * Mengsk leads a rebellion against the confederacy with Kerrigan (Red hair human form) and Raynor, and eventually abandons Kerrigan to the Zerg. * Raynor leaves the rebellion while Mengsk finishes off the confedracy and establishes an empire with him as the leader. * The Zerg infest Kerrigan into the queen of blades, she is enslaved to the hivemind and has that desire to destroy, but retains a tiny bit of her humanity and spares Raynors life many times. * The Zerg leaders (Cerebrates and the Overmind) are effectively immortal and resurrect. A Protoss High Templar named Tassadar recruits the exiled Dark Templar and discover their energy can permanently kill the Zerg leaders, he is deemed a traitor for allying with the Dark Templar. The Zerg upon dying link minds with the Dark Templar temporarily, and learn of the Protoss homeworld Aiur and siege it. * The Protoss have a small rebellion and the High and Dark Templar reunite to fight the Zerg and save Aiur. The new leader and Tassadar sacrifices himself to kill the Overmind. Kerrigan takes command of the swarm and eventually replaces the Cerebrates with Queens. Wings of Liberty: *Mengsk frees Tychus in the opening/trailer cinematic, Tychus goes to Raynor and proposes a deal to collect Xel Naga artifacts. Zeratul visits the ship and tells Raynor that Kerrigan needs to not die and must be saved to save the galaxy. *Eventually, Raynor learns the artifacts being collected can release a pulse of highly destructive energy that kills all zerg matter, but doesn't touch humans. Raynor realizes this is how he saves Kerrigan, * Raynor sieges Char and uses the artifact to turn Kerrigan human again. This leads into final cinematic in Wings of liberty where Tychus tries to kill Kerrigan and Raynor saves her. Kerrigan is human again but her Hair is the Zerg dreadlock look you see earlier in this video. The final note. Kerrigan was in a dream like state while the queen of blades. She vaguely remembers what happened. There may possibly be a hint of that aggression left too, which is why she is so adamant on revenge at first. When she thinks she lost Raynor, she even considered abandoning her revenge until she was told he was dead. As the Primal Queen of blades, she is fully awake and in control again, there is no hive-mind influence left.
And that is like the newbie general idea. There are so many things that have happened in the SC universe but this is great for someone who wants the summary, Good job. Side note: Amon didn't die for "some reason". Up to this point he has been called "The Dark One" of the Xel'Naga, and it is hinted that the rest of the Xel'Naga took him down. So from what you should know up to this point is that the other Xel'Naga (a.k.a gods) killed the evil one but his creations and schemes have persisted.
Kerrigan killed 8 Billion people with the swarm over her time as the Queen of Blades . Anytime a Zerg killed somebody it was directly her fault because she controls them all telepathically. It was over hundreds of planets. She had been left for dead by Arcturus but the swarm turned her into a perfect fighting machine. She eventually took over the entire swarm in starcraft 1 Brood War. At the end of Wings of Liberty Jim Raynor used the alien artifact to change Kerrigan back to mostly human. Which is where Heart of the Swarm starts off. With her having been the Queen of Blades and then changed back to human.
@@drhapi5308 Kerrigan was named this because there's a character in a rival game studio by the name of Tanya. The OTHER ice skater. I miss the C&C series.
@@drhapi5308 Yea. Westwood Studios had Command and Conquer: Red Alert. There was a controllable commando unit by the name of Tanya. Third mission of the GDI campaign, if I remember correctly.
Oh, for a moment i thought it was the 8 billion people she killed when she activated the psi emitter in that Confederacy planet and then got betrayed by Mengsk
yeah. The maker of the cinematic compilation should've included all interactions. And maybe side mission cinematics too(but not necessarily). It's missing some plot, which is why I think is the reason they get confused in the storyline.
I've become strange addicted to watching you two react to the games I love. A little backstory (spoilers for lore prior to HotS?): 1. Sarah Kerrigan was originally a Ghost of the Terran Confederacy. Ghosts are super-soldiers with latent psionic (read: psychic/mental) powers who are forcibly taken (enslaved) from their families at a very young age and trained to be the ultimate assassins. Drugs, cybernetic implants, and memory wipes are used to condition Ghosts into little more than weapons. 2. When Korhal IV, then one of the most prosperous worlds of the Terran Confederacy (and the home of House Mengsk), begins to rebel, the Confederacy sent Kerrigan to assassinate Arcturus' father and family (leaders of the rebellion on Korhal and also a Confederate Senator). Their bodies are found, minus their heads. Mengsk later discovers that Kerrigan was the Ghost responsible for this. 3. Later, when the rebellion looks to be succeeding, the Confederacy destroys Korhal IV with nuclear weapons. Arcturus was not on Korhal at the time, and along with the few survivors also off-world, founds the Sons of Korhal to continue the rebellion. During this time he captures Kerrigan and brings her into the organization. 4. Mengsk uses 'Psi Emitters' to lure the Swarm to a number of Confederate worlds, including the capitol world of Tarsonis. On Tarsonis he even sends troops commanded by Kerrigan to eliminate the Protoss (who are targeting the Swarm) so the Confederates can't escape and are destroyed. Many billions die in the crossfire. 5. Once Kerrigan defeats the Protoss, Mengsk abandoned her there as revenge for the death of his family. 6. Rather than kill her, the Zerg Overmind (then in control of the Hive Mind of the Zerg) recognizes her uniquely powerful potential and assimilates her into the Swarm as Perfected Infested Terran. (Normally when Terrans are infested by the Zerg they become mindless suicide bombers.) 7. The Overmind does this because when it was created by Amon to control the Zerg, Amon enslaved it to his overriding directive to destroy the Protoss. While the Overmind could not override this directive, it was aware of it's enslavement, and saw Kerrigan as an opportunity to free the Zerg from Amon. 8. Everything created or controlled by the Overmind was corrupted by Amon's will, including the original Queen of Blades, but she retained far more independence than any other Zerg connected to the Overmind at this time, and this was by design. 9. After Three long and extremely bloody wars Jim and Valerian corner Kerrigan on the planet Char and use a Xel'naga artifact (the Xel'naga are the species to which Amon belongs, and they are responsible for the existence of both the Zerg and the Protoss) to partially de-infest her. Kerrigan is broken free from Amon's influence at this point, and becomes mostly human again, but retains a small portion of Zerg DNA in her genetic makeup. This is where you guys come in at the start of this video. 10. In HotS (during game play, not during a cinematic) you learn that this was exploited by Amon. The Xel'naga device which was used to de-infest Kerrigan collected the original Queen of Blades' power, and he uses that power to resurrect himself in the physical universe.
THE FIRST transformation of kerrigan was back in Star craft 1, the only scene they remade out of that is the sarah kerrigan,s betrayel . Thats why its a bit confusing.that scene it happen way back, but being such a significant part of the story they remade it into some kind of dream that raynor has,you saw it in wing of liberty. so it goes like this : in starcraft 1 pretty early zarah gets captured by the zerg (because mengks left her behind) and transfored into the queen of blades, after that a lot happens she kills a lot of ppl ,humans and protoss alike, last fight of the SC 1 its actually kerrigan against all of them,in SC 2 we saw her comming back to finish the job, wiping every1 out.so raynor uses the artifact to transform her back into human( with the exeption of her hair. her origian hair was red. just like in that foto you see in the beginning of wings of liberty. what you saw in this video is her secound transformation into the queen of blades but this time more powerfull and with her own will.sorry my bad english xd.
I LOVE these reactions you guys are doing to Starcraft! I wish that it included more stuff from the missions because you guys get really into some cut scenes and then don't get your follow up or your context! For example Kerrigan did seek out The Ancient One's help- but after she collected the essence of all the pack leaders of the Primal Zerg- and that allowed her to transform back into her Zerg form., but a new Primal form. The Ancient One betrayed her and sprung an ambush to collect Kerrian after she transforms back and she destroys him becoming the most powerful being on Zerus. That all happens over the course of like 2 or 3 missions on that planet.
35:51 - well I'm not giving him away 36:26 - okay maybe I am. -"She is.. very.. strange" lmao Also for storytelling sake it's really better to watch someone's playthrough rather than just cutscenes. For example, Lowko did great job here, also explaining what is happening currently in the plot flow without spoiling anything
2:22 the ship is a battle cruiser ( that one may be a behemoth class cuz thats a big ship ) 11:00 the ships found them quickly because of a traitor onboard there ships and Valerians ship had trackers that gave them away. At the end that pillar was the artifact that made her human again it is deadly to Zerg and can be used against her cuz she is Zerg. And the CMC Jim was in also had blast shields you can see him pull it down behind her. I love the universes that blizzard made and am sad that so far the SC universe is over no new games ( a one they we’re making got canceled a bit ago )
Can't wait to see u react to Legacy of the Void, the game itself just has such a good and deep story, and i've been playing it for a long time, so just to see u get hyped or amazed.. i just love this series, keep it up, love.
Fun Fact: Command & Conquer was a similar game that had been released just before Starcraft. It was also a "real-time resource management game". In that game was a character called Tanya, in the video segments she was played by Kari Wuhrer. The Blizzard crew decided to make an analogous character called Kerrigan based on the real life drama between Nancy Kerrigan and Tonya Harding. That's why Kerrigan exists.
Oh heck yes! Watched your Wings of Liberty reaction and had a mega trip down memory lane. Wanted the nostalgia train to hit me with Heart of the swarm! Let’s do this
ALRIGHT! next episode please! Legacy of the Void! just know that alot of the story is told in the game as well so some of the cinematics may seem like jumps in time. I hope you get the gist of it all. The story is so strong throughout all three. Legacy of the Void follows the Protoss, the third race in the starcraft universe.
I know its ages too late but that one larva that Kerrigan implanted into that protoss colonist... This is one of the coolest missions in the game where you play as the larva, killing and eating more and more stuff on the ship to grow bigger and evolve. Very Alien like. I loved that mission to bits.
One reason Jim has so much trouble believing in Kerrigan is that as the old queen of blades she was very treacherous. When the original counsciousness of the zergs (the Overmind) was destroyed, she made protoss and jim believe that she just wanted to be free and used their trust to get ressources and slaughter major opponents by treason which then made her able to take control of the whole Swarm. Her victory was absolute and a huge slaughter but she mysteriously kept her positions for a few year, actually preparing to serve the arrival of Amon, the "evil spirit". Then there's wings of liberty, purification and all that.
She became Kerrigan queen of blades in the first Starcraft game. She was partially un-zerg ified returning her human mentally then captured in the ending of the wings of Liberty. She was put into that silver suit thing after she was captured.
Why wasn't Nicole in the previous video? EDIT: For some reason, this particular video stopped playing at 29:58 mark. Every other video played just fine and I've tried this with multiple different browsers with the same result. Anyone having the same issue?
Her name is from the figureskater in the early 90s named nancy kerrigan, her nickname was "queen of blades". She got beaten up by som1 hired by a skating rival...was all over the news in like 1993. As far as the story, kerrigan was betrayed by mensk at the end of the terran campagin in starcraft 1. so by the time heart of the swarm came out, she was mrs dreadlock zerg chick for around 2 games. (like 10ish years in the starcraft universe)
fun fact, a few of the clip pieces actually change according to which worlds you choose for missions, like Kerrigan can either be zergified or human when facing Warfield, some dialogues also change
When Dehaka said "He collects" I made the joke with a friend that he is the Zerg IRS :P Edit: 34:34 Kerrigan was a class 12 when she was the old Queen of Blades, which I believe was the highest level. Now even their psi scanners cannot classify her meaning Primal Queen of Blades greatly dwarfs the old one in terms of raw psionic power.
Bit of Background: narud (the shapeshifter) was double crossing her in the first game. At first he acted as a rebel for the terrans and killed stukov (the infested terrsn with the Russian accent) and revealed himself as kerrigans agent. His name was Duran. He just reversed his name and shifted into a scientists called narud to create zerg-protoss hybrids that will serve amon as an army
Kerrigan before was controlled by this hivemind thing so she was a mindless version of "Queen of Blades" but after she turned into it again, she got it from the primals which were individualistic so she retained her human side.
Great reaction. I think the StarCraft universe would definitely make a great movie or series. You might want to try the game, the missions themselves sort of fill the gaps between cutscenes, and it's also a fun strategy game.
I like the reaction, its a wonderfull history this game has, and still you don't need to know the history of the original game to understand the starcraft2, if you played the first one, will have an emotional impact when you play this one Greetings from Venezuela and continue with your videos, i like it alot
The starcraft universe is located in the Koprulu sector and there are three races fighting it out Terrans - is what they called themselves after leaving earth and travelled to a different part of the galaxy. These were actually prison ships and their wardens descendants ended up being part of the "old families", the influnential groups. It was noticed also that the people in the ships that have "mutations". These mutations gave them psionic abilities (telepathy, telekensis). One of the more powerful ones is actually Sarah Kerrigan, who became the queen of blades. Zerg - insect like creatures that form a hive mind where at a top is a creature called the overmind who controls all his underlings called cerebrates, and the passed down to the overlords. The overmind and the cerebrates are highly intelligent and possess psionic abilities as well. Protoss - Advanced race, again with psionic abilities. There are currently two factions (there are more in the second game). The first is Khalai Protoss, while all of them have individual thoughts, the whole faction is connected by a psionic emphatic bond called by the Khalai. This makes it possible for them to communicate telepathically . It also strengthens them mentally, as some of their attacks need control and discipline and their bond helps them with that. The can also access memories of those who died as their consciousness gets stored there. The second faction is called the Nerazim, or "Dark Templar" who was against this bonding and wanted pure individuality, that they cut off their receptors (looks like braided hair) so that they are disconnected. The Khalai Protoss resides in a planet called Aiur, while the Nerazim left to find a diiferent planet. They settled in Shakuras. Looking for resources on the first game would make it easier to understand the second. - Why there are two groups (at the time) of protoss - Why Mengsk betrayed Kerrigan - Who are the Xel'naga
Kerrigan did get help from the Ancient One, then he betrayed her in a mission to try and steal her essence (basically her power) but she beat him and stole his power instead. Also that infested terran, Alexi Stukov, was in the first Starcraft game, Starcraft Brood War.
Just a heads up. All starcraft games (starcraft 1, starcraft brood war and starcraft 2) are split in three parts, three campaigns, because there are three different playable races in the game. For starcraft 2 : - Wings of Liberty was about the Terrans, following James Raynor's rebellion and how it led to freeing Kerrigan from Amon's influence, - Heart of The Swarm was about the Zergs, about Kerrigan's revenge and how she gained power to face Amon, - Legacy Of The Void is about the Protoss(es?). It opens up with a war to regain their homeworld Aiur, once destroyed by the zerg swarm... I'll stop there to avoid spoilers, but the last chapter is also obviously linked to that same threat that was lingering in the background all this time... By the way, starcraft 1 and brood war included events starting from humanity discovering the zergs and the protoss (the zerg invaded a terran planet, and the protoss pulverized the planet to get rid of the zerg invasion/infection), including kerrigan getting betrayed by mengsk and captured by the zergs, and the protoss homeworld getting invaded by the zergs... and basically ended up with her taking over the zerg swarm as the Queen of Blades.
In Starcraft 1 Sarah Kerrigan (Nicole was right :D ) was kidnapped by the Zerg, turned into the queen of blades making her have more psychic powers. At the end of wings of liberty we saved her and removed the Zergness (except for the dreadlocks) and hoped that she and Jim would live happily ever after. This clearly did not happen :D
Kerrigan was abandoned by Mengsk, captured by the Zerg, tranformed by the Zerg into the Queen of Blades, took over the Zerg after the Overminds death and was turned back to being mostly human at the end of Wings of Liberty. This is following on from that.
The Ancient One is killed by Kerrigan, btw. He betrays her and tries to kill her to collect her essence. So naturally, that backfired on him huge. XD Fun fact: the cinematic with Warfield can also play out with Kerrigan's New Form instead of ghost suit, depending on the order you play the missions in. So when I played it I was like "Well, he's not entirely wrong to say she's not human anymore…" XD
You watched the wings of liberty cinematics. In the last mission of Wings of Liberty, Jim Raynor and Valerian Mensk use the Xel Naga (ancient alien) Artifact to reverse the mutation and change the Queen of Blades back into Kerrigan. The opening cinematic to Heart of the swarm is after they rescue her. She is pissed off and wants revenge on Arcturus Mensk.
Long time starcraft player here. Loving these reactions to the starcraft story. The game itself is considered a masterpiece for its gameplay elements alone, but the story is also excellently crafted imo. Starcraft is basically played like Chess, except you don't take turns. You and your opponent are each moving your pieces as fast as you can to take each other out. And, instead of having the same pieces, king, queen, bishop, rook etc.. you choose 1 of 3 teams, the Humans, the Zerg or the Protoss. The story you are watching that goes with the game, is also broken into 3 parts. Part 1- Wings of Liberty is the Human story, centered around Raynor. Part 2 - Heart of the Swarm is the Zerg story, centered around Kerrigan. Part 3 - Legacy of the Void is the Protoss story, centered around Zeratul (freaky purple guy), plus a bunch of new Protoss characters you havn't met yet. Really looking forward to your reaction to part 3! Also, you guys are super cute together :) Cheers!
Kerrigan was PISSED and reacted that way on the ship because she knows what it's like to be left behind. It didn't help that it was Valerian Mengsk who told her they couldn't reach Jim. She was like "Hell naw, he was the only one who didn't give up on finding me, and so I'm going to find him".
Check out StarCraft II: Legacy of the Void Reclamation as it tells some of the back story to the legacy of the void story main story. Makes sense to watch before the 3rd story.
btw in the end its not just energy its the xelnaga artifact from wings of liberty, wich can control/supress (or other thigns idk what i can do but raynor used it to make kerrigan human again) zerg
This is after Wings of Liberty. At the end of Wings of liberty they used am ancient device to turn her back into a human, but with weird zerg dreds. So this is after she was turned back into a human.
I'm back with The Heart of the warm breakdown. Heart of the swarm is the Zerg campaign in Starcraft 2. It is a direct sequel to Wings of Liberty. The intro is a dream of Kerrigan still being the queen of blades and attacking the terran capital, you can see a statue of Mengsk being torn down. This is possibly a premonition, as by the end of the campaign she is this comes true. Although it could just be her visualising what she wants. Most of the story is pretty clear with the cinematics. Kerrigan is returned to her human form, after the events of Wings of Liberty. Prince Valerian trys to see if he can get Kerrigan to control the swarm, as she still has heightened Psionic powers, although not as powerful as the Queen of Blades. Kerrigan ends up wrecking abit of the facility to prove a point, that the Zerg cannot be contained. Later they are attacked by the Dominion, and Kerrigan and Raynor are seperated. It is actually nova that captures Raynor, even though you dont see that part in the cinematic. Kerrigan uses her power to attack a dominion outpost in hopes of finding Raynor, but eventually hears he is dead, in one of the cinematics. As a result she decides that she is going to take back control of the zerg to kill Mengsk. Kerrigan defeats Zagara. Zagara respects her strength but wants to become more powerful and take of the swarm. Zeratule shows Kerrigan, the Zerg home world and Kerrigan goes there to be remade, into her new form. She awakens the Ancient one, and he tells her to defeat all of the other pack leaders, and absorb their essence to become more powerful. Eventually she has killed them all and then the ancient one turns on her, seeing her power, and wanting to consume it to become more powerful himself. Kerrigan defeats the ancient one because she is not more powerful and absorbs his power. Valerian and Horner Fight Mira han to get a Decription expert to help find Raynor as there have been words that he is alive. Matt Horner and Mira Han are actually married. Horner lost a card game to her, and the bet was that he would marry her. That's why he isn't very happy to see her but she is happy to see him. Raynors location is discovered, and kerrigan takes the swarm and free Raynor. Raynor sees kerrigans new form and is enraged, but can't bring himself to kill Kerrigan. Kerrigan attacks the Terran Capital, during the mission, Raynor join in on the fight, clearly still having strong feelings for Kerrigan. Kerrigans swarm breaches Mengsk Palace, and the last cinematic shows the rest.
She got captured as a soldier, then turned into Queen of Blades, then she undergo these tests with the Terran, but ultimately turn into Queen of Blades again.
Kerrigan was captured and turned into the queen of blades in starcraft 1. In wings of liberty they purge the "zerg" out of her and captured her. This is where they do the test. After that, they capture Jim and they announced his death publicly, so Kerrigan turns back into the queen of blades and that is when the "premonition" attack happens.
I wish the video that you guys watched had some important in game story moments as well, there are many parts of the story that are actually taking part during the gameplay that you guys missed out on, maybe play the game lol :)
love your videos much love from germany, also the whole story basicly is, humans left earth than others humans from earth wanted to bring those humans back, they faught, mengsk became the leader of new galaxy humans (terrans), they meet the zerg in this new galaxy fought them left kerrigan to die, the zerg transformed her, and than in Wings of liberty jim transformed her back to human and than comes heart of the swarm where she becomes zerg again if you guys loved the first 2 campaign YOU GONA LOVE ARTANIS he is the best. so watch the legacy of the void
Before you watch legacy of the void campaign you have to watch the official Starcraft 2 the story so far it explains a lot of information starting from Starcraft 1 to the end of the heart of the swarm it will help you guys a lot.
its funny how they are saying sarah is good but dont know that there are short cut scenes where she is telling other parts of the swarm to destroy various planets just becaues theres a dominion base there.
it will be hard for them to understand legacy of the void, context from the original is required to make full sense of it, and it loses a lot as stand alone content
the "worm" kerrigan put in the protoss hactes when she is on the ship and becomes a queen, and basically infects the ship killing all the protoss onboard.
1) The 8 billion people Kerrigan murdered is a rough estimate and it's across the whole Koprulu Sector, a section of the galaxy where these three races live. Earth is somewhere else and for the most part safe from the Zerg and the Protoss. 2) Everything in this video is after the Wings of Liberty cinematics, there are no flashbacks. The first cinematic is Kerrigan's dream of how she will destroy Korhal, Arkturus Mengsk's homeworld. The actual fight happened a lot differently than she was dreaming of, but she still won. 3) The cinematic where she fights Jim/herself and rides a giant worm, the creature she's fighting against is someone called Narud, he's a servant of Amon and the one who returned Amon to life. 4) The "electric machine" that Arcturus Mengsk used to harm Kerrigan in the final scene is the artifact that Jim Raynor spent the entire Wings of Liberty campaign collecting and finally used to strip Kerrigan of her zerg infestation. It's called the Keystone Artifact and is a Xel'Naga device. All the energy Kerrigan lost during Wings of Liberty with that artifact was used to return Amon to life, so essentially she's the reason he's back. Arcturus Mengsk took it from Char after Raynor rescued Kerrigan, and in the cinematic where Kerrigan "becomes Zerg" again you can briefly see the Keystone in the bottom right corner when Mengsk is staring out at the rain, hinting that he's got it for the final cinematic.
jim raynord feels guilty in the last episode of wings of liberty cause he had to kill tycchus his old friend, to save his "wife" kerigan (she was hiis girlfriend and also a "crewmember" during a revolution he did in the first three stracraft) and he fills guilty because he think that he abandon her to her fate but he kinda had no choice there were an alien swarm that got intentionnally bait on a planet for the sake of the revolution by his commander "mengsk ". This is the day he start a revolution against the succes past rebels that are now ruling the terran (human) and he helped them to achieve there rebelion, so he's "kinda mad" because to his mind he his responsible of all the suffering mengsk caused, and this mengsk took him litterrally everything.
The beginning of Kerrigan's story takes place in Starcraft 1, where she is a Ghost operative working for the Sons of Korhal, a terrorist group led by Arcturus Mengsk against the Terran Confederacy. During a mission where Mengsk unleashes the Zerg on the population of the Confederate capital world of Tarsonis via a Psi Emitter he had Kerrigan place there, she is cut off by the waves of Zerg called in and Mengsk makes the decision to leave her there, betraying her. She is captured by the Zerg Overmind and infested, transformed into a Terran/Zerg hybrid: The Queen of Blades. At first she is used as a pawn to further the Overmind's goals, but when the Overmind is killed by the Protoss Templar Tassadar, she fights the other Cerebrates (Zerg Brood overlords) for control of the entire Zerg swarm (as told in the expansion to Starcraft 1, Brood War).
"Was this before or after she transformed?" - after. In the end of WoL she was dezergified with only some remnants left, like the skin dreads. She's still a powerful psionic though.
Sometimes you have to watch the dialogues that happen in game, not just the cinematics, because part of the story is in there. Here are some you can look at. It is long, but it will make you understand it better: Wings of Liberty: ua-cam.com/video/tA-D4p9lBPI/v-deo.html Heart of the Swarm: ua-cam.com/video/PIHI6x4BaTo/v-deo.html Legacy of the Void: ua-cam.com/video/jH-4X6Npeq4/v-deo.html
There's a small cinematic outside the game that might be important to watch before Legacy of the Void. The cinematic is called "Reclamation" and it will explain a lot of the lore before the Game begins, especially things related to Khala, history of the Protoss, the Dark Templar, and the Love they have for their home planet Aiur. In order to understand Protoss's story you must first understand these things because they explain pretty much everything. Thanks for this video,. It's kind of sad that there aren't cinematics of the previous game worth watching as "movie" because the technology wasn't there. But the original game and its expansion had a great story that leads into, obviously, this sequel.
I'm not sure if someone told you before, however, there are missions with different choices, and depending on what you choose, a different cutscene might appear, something which might make it confusing due to both of them appearing.
When Sarah Kerrigan (a talented telepath) was captured by the swarm, they changed her DNA and hooked her up to their hivemind, so she became very powerful, but her feelings of vengeance were also enhanced with the instincts of the swarm. So that anger is in conflict with her moral feelings. In Wings of Liberty she was eventually partially severed from the swarm by an alien artefact. Now Valerian captured her to experiment on her. So she doesn't trust humans anymore. So she tries to take over the swarm to gain power. It's kind of the point how this strains her relationship with Jim.
She was turned into the queen of blades in starcraft 1. At the end of wings of liberty they captured her, turned her back into Human. She goes back to the zerg though, in heart of swarm. wings of liberty is first in sc2, heart of the swarm is 2nd, legacy of the void is 3rd.

the zerg she controlled as the queen of blades killed over 8 billion Terrans and millions of protoss across the brood war. the Zerg killed even more Protoss before the brood war on the homeworld of Aiur
Storty Summary to the finale of the Heart of the Swarm:
Starcraft/Starcraft Brood war:
The Ghost (she has psionic abilities) Sarah Carrigan and Jim Raynor were the revolutionaries whom Megsk recruted so that he could usurp power over the Human Dominion.
Starcraft 2 Wings of Liberty/Starcraft Heart of the Swarm:
JIm's revolution continues.
Find The betrayal on Kerrigan
Note: Many of those cinematics connected and set up game missions. So you "missed" some of the story as it unfolds during game-play.
Some? Like half the story but yeah.
@@minireaperYT And even more in WoL.
A lot of it was missed
Someone should do a versiok with the Inbetweens explained
@@kimmy_sander , there are some out there.
Amon eventually dies for some reason
Many eons later
* Mengsk leads a rebellion against the confederacy with Kerrigan (Red hair human form) and Raynor, and eventually abandons Kerrigan to the Zerg.
Wings of Liberty:
*Mengsk frees Tychus in the opening/trailer cinematic, Tychus goes to Raynor and proposes a deal to collect Xel Naga artifacts. Zeratul visits the ship and tells Raynor that Kerrigan needs to not die and must be saved to save the galaxy.
*Eventually, Raynor learns the artifacts being collected can release a pulse of highly destructive energy that kills all zerg matter, but doesn't touch humans. Raynor realizes this is how he saves Kerrigan,
* Raynor sieges Char and uses the artifact to turn Kerrigan human again.
So from what you should know up to this point is that the other Xel'Naga (a.k.a gods) killed the evil one but his creations and schemes have persisted.
i recommend viewing Lowko's playthroughs of all of SC1 and SC2, he's hilarious and you get to know most stuff
Nice summary
Did... Did you just skipped the entire UED story line?!
Fun fact, Mira and Matt Horner are married. Because he lost a bet.
most important part of the lore i agree xD
I thought it was because he won the poker game and beat her.
@@JonathanSagdahlYT You're correct he was wasted
he did not loose a bet, he won one he'd have rather lost
he won and didnt know she was le price
Fun trivia, Kerrigan is named after the ice skater.
@@drhapi5308 Kerrigan was named this because there's a character in a rival game studio by the name of Tanya. The OTHER ice skater. I miss the C&C series.
grays0ul oh yeah! Neat! I didn’t know that deeper connection.
Interactions with Abathur the coolest zerg character are missing.
Confused..
gabriele idini he is the evolution master he is the one who creates new Zerg strains.
@@Roamingfirebat it was a quote...
yeah. The maker of the cinematic compilation should've included all interactions. And maybe side mission cinematics too(but not necessarily). It's missing some plot, which is why I think is the reason they get confused in the storyline.
You always say 'probably' before a wrong statement lol.
"Kerrigan might be her last name. It probably isn't though."
Yes, it is xD
No one:
Jim Raynor: SARAH!!!!
Legacy of the Void next? Also don't forget the cinematics from the prologue and epilogue 🤟
I've become strange addicted to watching you two react to the games I love.
A little backstory (spoilers for lore prior to HotS?):
(Normally when Terrans are infested by the Zerg they become mindless suicide bombers.)
"Kerrigan might be her last name. It probably isn't though."
Yup. Sarah Louise Kerrigan.
I love that Nicole's getting into the storyline and despite confusing storyline, she still keeps up.
35:51 - well I'm not giving him away
36:26 - okay maybe I am.
-"She is.. very.. strange" lmao
Also for storytelling sake it's really better to watch someone's playthrough rather than just cutscenes. For example, Lowko did great job here, also explaining what is happening currently in the plot flow without spoiling anything
2:22 the ship is a battle cruiser ( that one may be a behemoth class cuz thats a big ship )
11:00 the ships found them quickly because of a traitor onboard there ships and Valerians ship had trackers that gave them away.
Just watched the whole thing. You weren't kidding when you said soon. Lol. The Legacy of the Void is the last of the trilogy.
Well there is still nova ops
@@jpsimeon8ify exactly, i wanted to said that.
Paulo Simeon true
Sadly Starcraft 2 is made in a way that cinematics arent enough to understand all, since its full of dialoges that say a lot about history
"Wings of the Void"
Hang on, is there a dlc I don't know about?? Have I been living a lie?? I need this Wings of the Void dlc now
Same
I know its ages too late but that one larva that Kerrigan implanted into that protoss colonist...
Legacy of the Void has a really good summary at the beginning, should hopefully clear some things up :)
fun fact, a few of the clip pieces actually change according to which worlds you choose for missions, like Kerrigan can either be zergified or human when facing Warfield, some dialogues also change
Love the reactions! Haven't seen it yet but I known for sure it will be great.
that final "I AM THE SWARM" always gives me the chills
When Dehaka said "He collects" I made the joke with a friend that he is the Zerg IRS :P
Edit: 34:34 Kerrigan was a class 12 when she was the old Queen of Blades, which I believe was the highest level. Now even their psi scanners cannot classify her meaning Primal Queen of Blades greatly dwarfs the old one in terms of raw psionic power.
One more act for ya'll to watch... can't wait for your next reaction to it
Bit of Background: narud (the shapeshifter) was double crossing her in the first game.
" I think its a set up" In response to Kerrigan, Nichole you are a very smart woman XD
Great reaction. I think the StarCraft universe would definitely make a great movie or series. You might want to try the game, the missions themselves sort of fill the gaps between cutscenes, and it's also a fun strategy game.
I like the reaction, its a wonderfull history this game has, and still you don't need to know the history of the original game to understand the starcraft2, if you played the first one, will have an emotional impact when you play this one
Greetings from Venezuela and continue with your videos, i like it alot
The starcraft universe is located in the Koprulu sector and there are three races fighting it out
Terrans - is what they called themselves after leaving earth and travelled to a different part of the galaxy.
- Why there are two groups (at the time) of protoss
- Why Mengsk betrayed Kerrigan
- Who are the Xel'naga
Part3 with Legacy of the Void and all the Protoss cinematics are even better :)
For starcraft 2 :
- Wings of Liberty was about the Terrans, following James Raynor's rebellion and how it led to freeing Kerrigan from Amon's influence,
- Heart of The Swarm was about the Zergs, about Kerrigan's revenge and how she gained power to face Amon,
- Legacy Of The Void is about the Protoss(es?).
-Next is Legacy of the Void
-Yeah it make sense cuz' she need to go to the void for the enemy
me: Zeratul :'c
The Ancient One is killed by Kerrigan, btw. He betrays her and tries to kill her to collect her essence. So naturally, that backfired on him huge. XD
Fun fact: the cinematic with Warfield can also play out with Kerrigan's New Form instead of ghost suit, depending on the order you play the missions in. So when I played it I was like "Well, he's not entirely wrong to say she's not human anymore…" XD
Nice reaction. Legacy of the Void cinematics should be next :)
Small correction: LotV starts with Zeratul but pretty quickly switches focus to Artanis (another Protoss character).
@@Pitazboras true, i just didnt want to over complicate things explaining artanis and alarak etc.. Zeratul is the only protoss they know so far :)
That ship falling from the skye in the first clip, is a Terran (Human) Battlecruiser.
Check out StarCraft II: Legacy of the Void Reclamation
as it tells some of the back story to the legacy of the void story main story. Makes sense to watch before the 3rd story.
btw in the end its not just energy its the xelnaga artifact from wings of liberty, wich can control/supress (or other thigns idk what i can do but raynor used it to make kerrigan human again) zerg
I don't know how do many folks don't get emotional watching this.
This is after Wings of Liberty. At the end of Wings of liberty they used am ancient device to turn her back into a human, but with weird zerg dreds. So this is after she was turned back into a human.
oh man, never click so fast like this time. great reaction. remember there is a third part of the story line (the void part).
Loving the reactions! Check out Legacy Of The Void and the original StarCraft and StarCraft BroadWar cinematics!
Please both of you watch it, I really want to see both of your reactions to legacy of the void.
Now for the full Legacy of the Void video
Possibly one of the best RTS games of all time. Heart of the swarm being my favourite campaign of the 3 factions.
Valerian is actually an idealist, he's not power-hungry.
Maaa maaan!!! Im eating noodles and shit watching ur reactions. Its like watching it all over again, i love it! And this time around with u guys
Imagine having an Ultralisk as a pet…gotta be huge investment and gonna require huge ass crib 🤔
The suit Jim wears can protect you from a nuclear explosion.
The electic energy in the end is actually the same device that cured her at wings of liberty
Legacy of the void next. It is by far the best of the three imo.
Naw heart of the swarm all the way. I do like legacy a lot tho
it will be hard for them to understand legacy of the void, context from the original is required to make full sense of it, and it loses a lot as stand alone content
the "worm" kerrigan put in the protoss hactes when she is on the ship and becomes a queen, and basically infects the ship killing all the protoss onboard.
That mission remained me of xinomorph lol
Heart of the Swarm had the best plot of the 3 games... the stuff for movies
5:34 it was after she was captured, that happened on starcraft 1
"Was this before or after she transformed?" - after. In the end of WoL she was dezergified with only some remnants left, like the skin dreads. She's still a powerful psionic though.
Sometimes you have to watch the dialogues that happen in game, not just the cinematics, because part of the story is in there. Here are some you can look at. It is long, but it will make you understand it better:
Wings of Liberty: ua-cam.com/video/tA-D4p9lBPI/v-deo.html
Heart of the Swarm: ua-cam.com/video/PIHI6x4BaTo/v-deo.html
Legacy of the Void: ua-cam.com/video/jH-4X6Npeq4/v-deo.html
To fully understand the storyline, you need to watch all the Starcraft 1 and Starcraft 1 broodwar cinematic.
13:00 That's my pet Marlow. At least i call him that :D.
The artifact that was zapping her was the same artifact that changed her back human
It's built to remove Zerg corruption by cleansing or death
This is after she was captured in Wings of Liberty. Kerrigan was a red head before she was taken by the zerg. Nerd lore lol
Sarah and Jim was alwaysa good book...
I'm not sure if someone told you before, however, there are missions with different choices, and depending on what you choose, a different cutscene might appear, something which might make it confusing due to both of them appearing.
Gotta play it to really see the small details
When Sarah Kerrigan (a talented telepath) was captured by the swarm, they changed her DNA and hooked her up to their hivemind, so she became very powerful, but her feelings of vengeance were also enhanced with the instincts of the swarm. So that anger is in conflict with her moral feelings. In Wings of Liberty she was eventually partially severed from the swarm by an alien artefact. Now Valerian captured her to experiment on her. So she doesn't trust humans anymore. So she tries to take over the swarm to gain power. It's kind of the point how this strains her relationship with Jim.
Damn that was awesome
Es que ni lo vi pero me parece excelente, very very good , thank so mouch
React starcraft 2 legacy of the void full cinematic. other videos Battlefield V the last tiger, War thunder victory is ours
Alright, then. Next stop: Legacy of the Void... (and the conclusion of the StarCraft saga)
Here you go: ua-cam.com/video/4Wge_sxC690/v-deo.html
23:28 one of my favorite scenes from hots
Legacy of the void is the next one, and its a perfect end to the trilogy. It even starts with a prologue explaining the lore of the game
She was turned into the queen of blades in starcraft 1. At the end of wings of liberty they captured her, turned her back into Human. She goes back to the zerg though, in heart of swarm.
wings of liberty is first in sc2, heart of the swarm is 2nd, legacy of the void is 3rd.
you guys are awesome
Nicole looks tidy today!
She's killed that many... before the cinematic
Okay you gotta do the legacy of the void now. It's probably the best
