Yanmar is a Japanese company, founded in 1912, that invented the first small practical diesel engine. The company began building tractors in the 1960's, built its 10 millionth diesel engine in 1992, provides all the diesel engines for all John Deere compact tractors, built entire tractors for John Deere, and is a major manufacturer of marine diesels and construction equipment. Yanmars are extremely reliable and a hallmark of Japanese engineering. That said, the Yanmar salesman you visited was not knowledgeable about the integrated Hydro Mechanical Transmission (iHMT) on the YT347. The innovative design puts more power to the ground than an HST and has infinite adjustability for speed and RPM. Additionally, it's a highly serviceable cartridge design that's removable from the back of the tractor and does not require the tractor to be broken in half should it ever require servicing. Unlike most tractor brands these days, Yanmar does not rebrand or outsource their manufacturing. They build the entire tractor, including the engine, from the ground up, and put their true name on it. Yanmar is one of the few purebreds left in the tractor industry.
Tractor Time with Tim there's quite a bit of info on the IHMT on line, throughout the video I was thinking to my self the same thing that John mentioned, a lot of "I think" in the rundown didn't point out many features of the tractor and the rear axle design, is very common on compacts these days. The reduction can made simpler and it also moves the 3pt hitch arms and lift points. By moving it closer in on the tractor you can lift more then if it were further out. ( less pivot on the rear axle center line)
Tractor Time with Tim: None Sir, other than having worked in the marine industry in the past where it was common to see Yanmar diesels go 7000hrs without ever seeing a mechanic. And I'm also in the market for a YT235 for my 8 acres.
@@TractorTimewithTim He was providing good information and you totally tried to discredit him. Yanmar is quality stuff. You green machine boys just hate the thought that Yanmar has one on ya.
last july i purchased my first tractor and ended up with a new holland boomer 35, added a snow blower and pallet forks and it has saved my back this winter. with 120+ inches of snow this winter it did a damn good job even without a cab, a bit chilly snowblowing in -10f but better than 4+ hours walking behind a snow blower. i chose the new holland as the kubota of equal spec was nearly 2 times the price of the new holland. the deere dealer wouldnt even talk to me after an hour at the deere dealer looking around while the sales people stood around in the shop i moved on. the new holland dealer brought me out the keys to try 4 or 5 different tractors and including a nice little massey ferguson. being in potato country there is a lot of tractor knowledge up here. i started with 0 and have learned a lot with much left to learn. love your vids and the thoughtful approach you take to things while injecting humor.
@Gear Jammer you are correct. they are more geared towards big customers not us lowly home owners. i needed a replacement fuel filter for my tractor, $12 part and the salesman that sold me my new holland delivered it on his way home, good customer service for little guys isnt easy to find.
I have a 24'X32" garage and my JD 3 Series "with loader" fits in it, along with a Chevy 1500, Chevy Malibu and a Ranger side by side. I even have a stand up freezer and 3' wide shelving! My JD 3 series is the perfect size tractor for the room I have. And, no matter what HP you choose, all the 3 series are on the same size chassis. Good luck in your hunting, keep up the great work on these videos.... great info!
Darn good advice to new or experienced tractor owner. COLD out there, so you need a heated cab (kidding). All stated points are on the mark. Too big and heavy a tractor may mar clients' yards. Cannot drive over septic systems (yikes). What dealership is nearest you, Tim? I went with Massey b/c the points you stated. The dealership is 3.5 miles away. Service is great. Good Christian family; their daddy is the preacher (extremely fair & honest). Dealer's been here over 45 years. Great video Tim & Christy! Thanks; thumbs up.
I moved up from a Kubota B2620 to a JD 2038R. It may not be a big enough size move for you but I'm very pleased with the extra capacity of the JD. I had a Curtis cab on the Kubota and while it was great in the Maine winters I did not like it the rest of the year as I found it was "in the way" during the summer every time I got close to a low hanging branch while bush hogging. I have an Original Tractor cab for the JD and will be able to take it off if it ever stops snowing.
My 4044R has a Yanmar engine and just like you said it starts right up, all the time. I looked at Yanmar tractors and everything else Kubota, New Holland, Kioti, TYM, etc as I am fortunate to live in a big ag area with lots of choices. Since I tend to keep things for a really, really long time my concern is with parts and support for this major purchase 10+ years after the sale. I ended up with only 2 real choices - John Deere and Kubota, all the rest were either to new or had come & gone several times over the years (New Holland, Yanmar).
Kubotas are really nice and was leaning towards the L4060 but after trying one out for a few days I just could not get used to the treadle-pedal. After a while my foot, ankle and knee would just ache no matter how I adjusted the seat, steering wheel, etc. Then I tried the John Deere 4044R and it just felt right. All the controls in the right place, comfortable and really useful bells & whistles - cruise, auto throttle, hitch assist (a really nice option when using 3pt implements), and many others.
I felt the salesman knew Tim was making a video and a tire kicker at best. It seemed very cold and he knew there would be NO sale for his effort. Tim was IMO a bit of a dink for dragging the old guy out on the yard so Tim could make a video.
Hmm. So my fault, eh? Shoulda heard what he said about the tractors OFF camera! Believe me, we made him look like a super-salesman compared to his actual motivation level.
@@Red.Hot.Chili.Beans63 That salesman got free marketing with over 100,000 views from his target market. How much more can a someone in sales ask for??
When I was looking for a tractor, I had not considered a Yanmar. I had visited Marhrinda, Kobota and John Deere dealerships. All products Appeared to be the same in function, however my Yanmar dealer had 4 times the staff working a quarter size establishment with a steady flow of customers, while the others had a staff of Two and no customers. Plus the ergonomics of the sub compact Yanmar fits my body. Plus the ten year warranty feels like a nice safety net.
Tim, look into Branson’s. The company makes a very solid and reliable tractor for a quite reasonable price. I recently purchased a 7845C. It came with a large comfortable cab and more features than I can list. I paid about the same price for it as the Yanmar dealer was asking for that 347 and the Branson is a 78 hp model that weighs about 7000 lbs. it was a bigger tractor than I really need but I’ve had 2 smaller ones and each left me wishing I had a bigger one with more power. They also make a 55 hp model 5520 with cab for about 32k. Also loaded with features.
Not a name you hear when you talk sub or compact homestead tractors. I don’t even know that I have a dealership that carried them, but I’m going to look. Also, given that and that you apparently get much more tractor for less money, makes quality now an issue. The old adage, you get what you pay for, might apply here. But I appreciate the suggestion and I’m definitely going to poke about a bit to see what I can find around me. Thanks.
No dought, those YANMAR ENGINES are so fine. I have a 424TLB and it will amaze you what it can do. It sets up higher than others to keep you out of the weeds and give you lots of ground clearance. The FEL will lift 1200 lb and the 3 pt. hitch will handle 60" implements very well, tillers, box blades, brush cutters etc. Not to mention the backhoe attachment will dig a 6' vertical hole. I'm saying you just can't go wrong plus you don't have to break the bank.
Tim, you are spot on with your evaluation of what's important when buying a tractor- I agree 100% that dealer location, longevity and their customer service record are VERY important, then comes manufacturer reputation for customer service. For me those are most important. That being said, I recently noticed that there is a store franchise in the NE called Rural King who is selling RK Tractors (rebranded TYM) and they are impressive machines and very inexpensive. They will be serviced at the Rural King Dealership. The reason I mention them is that in 2000 I bought a Hyundai and they gave a 10 year 100,000 mile warranty, any problem I ever had in 10 years (very few) they took care of with a smile! Now I have three friends who bought Chrysler and no matter what they returned to the dealer for they were harassed like the problem was their fault. I'll pay the extra money just don't be accommodating when I want to buy but indifferent when I need service! Thanks Tim! BTW- I spent 5 years in Sales and the enthusiasm of that Yanmar dealer was not very impressive.
i have an 87 yanmar 226D with a JD cab. it has 3 spd on the trans with clutch then 3 spd + revers on the column, (clutchless) has separate brake pedals but currently bolted together, also if its spinning there is a pedal that locks the rear axle, and of course the loader and pto.
My dad was looking at a 235 but it was a bit too big for us and there's no dealer near. Instead he went with the smaller John Deere 1025r. The dealer is about 10 minutes from our house. He loves it and finds every excuse to use it. He finally let me drive it for the first time today and it was pretty fun! Now I know why he always wants to use it!
I think you should get a Kioti or an RK or TYM that would make the channel very interesting getting different tractors to compare and see capabilities with someone experienced like you :) I have bought an RK25 and have been very happy with it.
My Yanmar dealer is only slightly more dynamic 😂. I love my local Kubota Dealer (Asheville) but they just didn’t have a comparable unit and the Yanmar was a great value. Shopping for tractors with you two was fun. Thank you.
I wanted a kubota and went to purchase one from a local dealer. He showed us the inventory, went through the credit check, etc... we ordered the tractor we wanted which we would have to wait for. He had the same attitude as the Yanmar guy. As we were leaving, I went to shake his hand. He put his hand out like he didn't want to bother, nor did he even look at me while shaking my hand. He literally turned his head away. This I felt was very disrespectful. I went home, thought about it, called the dealer and cancelled the order. Dealer interaction is critical to me. If I don't like you for whatever reason, how can I trust you and what you say? I would not buy that Yanmar based on the sales person. His attitude was poor, his knowledge of the tractor seemed average to poor. So service, I would imagine would have been poor also.
This is the only constant I’ve heard when comparing tractors. They are all great, it’s the dealer and support/maintenance you get from them that makes the difference in long term satisfaction with the machine. I just bought my first modern diesel tractor this past week (Yanmar SA425) and I could not be happier with the machine and the folks at the dealership who helped me through the process. If I had the same experience you had I would be looking elsewhere.
I enjoy all y'all's video. I am 67 yrs old and I am learning from your experiences. could you do a video with a ratchet rake for brush work and leveling. Thanks. your wife does an excellent job.
Yanmar build decent stuff but when I got a quote on a YT235 I was informed that rear hydraulics and a 3rd function was unavailable for this model. Dealer was unsure if it would ever be available. I'm now happy with my Kubota.
Hey Tim, looking for tractors it was the main reason why I bought my sa324 yanmar, Yanmar makes the running gear for John Deere I just didn't want to pay for the green paint.
I agree need a dealership not far away. I bought a Kubota tractor last year dealership 21miles away. But very good dealer very helpful. I didn't think that yanmar dealer was interested in selling you one. At least i had a try on one and they showed me the tractor after it came in before they put it all together. When tractor delivered was given a couple of hours tuition on it. I'd forget yanmar dealer no good.
Tractor Time with Tim how often do you use Casey? If it's not that often you could store her at your other place. Then you should have enough room for two tractors.
I noticed something on the YT347 that I had not considered prior to your video. The lift height is very good, but at full extension, the bucket seems so close to the front bumper, you would have to put the tractor right up against the trailer bed to make use of the maximum height. I realize that by keeping the loader arms shorter, you are increasing the lift capacity, but is it practical if you can't project the load far enough ahead of you...I'm still inclined to the Kubota cab model used, of all the machines you have considered. Gosh, it sure is fun spending your money for you !
Tim, from what could see from the video, those final drive units are simply gear reduction hubs that move the drive flange off the centerline of the axle. Military trucks made good use of them in the past to gain ground clearance without excessive suspension height. They are called portal axles and are very strong. Mercedes Unimogs are great examples of portal axle utility vehicles. Yanmar did a need truck by clicking the hub back to the 3o'clock or 4o'clock position to move the tires back to get a longer wheel base out of a shorter frame. Hope that helps. Check out some unimogs (you might just end up with that instead of a tractor!) Or, look at the John Deere 4series spray rig.....that is portal to the extreme!
Just curious, but how often do you think you will have your tractor in the shop or at the dealer? I bought a Yanmar 15 yrs ago. I've had it at the dealer one time, at its free 50 hr service. I've bought several implements from the dealer and they delivered them to my doorstep and I'm an hour away. I don't know how you plan on beating up your tractor but I use the hell out of my subcompact, it has hundreds of hours on it and I use multiple implements, including a backhoe, and I've never had it break down. If your subcompact breaks down a lot, its probably a John Deere. But I'll bet that John Deere motor doesn't break down. That's right, because the John Deere has a Yanmar motor in it.
Good point Denise. It is a factor. One thought is that larger tires will spread that weight over a larger area, so hopefully it won.’the be much different.
Tim i had a yanmar ex2900 (equivalent to a jd 3 series) it was a great tractor...I went to a jd 4 series and now i can not fit in alot of places i used to. Although i like the power, the size is very inconvenient...with that being said i do not think a 2 series machine will be big enough to make a substantial difference from johny
There are quit a few independent videos on youtube comparing all the small utility tractors, JD, kubita, mahindra, new holland, ive watched most and the kubota comes out pretty well with or without cab. Even with a canopy that is niether with or without could be worth adding for minimum protection against weather and stuff comming out of a high bucket. I will look firward to seeing what you decide on. My Jd 2035 has that type of rear axle its called a highlift, they turn 90° so as to raise the tractor, the front also has long kingpins that are ajustable too to keep it level.
Hi Tim - I had a Yanmar, good engine and transmission but I changed it for a JD. The reason for the change no dealer support. I was worried if I needed support or parts. The local dealer moved on to other suppliers - like you wanted the comfort of local support.
Have you ever given the thought of a skid steer instead of a conventional tractor? Skid steers are relatively small but outperform a regular tractor as far as front end loader and attachments. You’ve already got Cassy, so I’d say you have the backhoe end of it covered as it’ll dig circles around any 3 point backhoe in the 35-45 hp range! Just food for thought! Oh, and you’ll need a bigger truck and probably a higher GVWR trailer, regardless. Don’t forget about transporting it!
If your thinking skidsteer then you need to be thinking takeuchi. I've worked of cats, case, takeuchi, bobcat, and johndeere. From a mechanics stand point I would run from a deere and a case. Ignore the bobcat and the cat because of some stupid design issues. And only bother considering a takeuchi.
I've heard great things about kubota except you pay extra for the name. Probably not an issue for most if they run good and reliable like I hear. On the L series what's the biggest mowing deck you can get?
Another cold weekend here in Ft Wayne but next Wednesday looks like Spring will finally arrive...Yeah .. Informative video Tim, the cold weather helps to see how they perform ...lol. I like RED over GREEN in most cases .
The salesman was a burned out drone Tim. Run. .. plus I wonder if it is a reflection of the atmosphere at the dealer as a whole? What about the Kioti's? They are a good value and are manufactured in the Carolinas. Besides there is no sense financing something only slightly larger. When you are going to be in the paperwork, you might as well get into the 30+ HP range and on the next size class chassis. The rest will follow.
The kiotis are made by daedong in south korea. But its all good because kioti is daedong, just us version. But I own one and love it immensely its a great tractor. More features and heavier built than kubota
They're all Korean anymore Kubota is a Japanese company though and I believe they're made in Germany. The L2501 is a great value in it's class and is on an actual tractor frame and gets in below tier 4
You planning on trading in your JD or just getting another, larger one to go along with it? I know at times there are things you try to do with yours that it just wasn't made for (lifting really heavy rocks and such). However, there are times when he fits into places where a larger one wouldn't fit.... just wondering.
Looked like those tractors sat in the same spot for awhile with the way the grass was dead under the buckets, it’s hard to believe if people were test driving them they wouldn’t be parked in the exact same spot to kill the grass
Yeah Tim about a Kabota 3200 utility special utility I like it I had a John Deere a bigger John Deere heavier but I just want to go smaller for around the yard 🙄 it doesn't have a quick attach but it's a light duty tractor so you can't really put much on the front but I like it I sprayed with a 50 gallon sprayer on the back I want to get a Rototiller and I have a landscaper Rick just work around the yard🐝 take care and thanks for sharing the video
Tim are you looking more HP or size? Have you looked at the 3 series with Deere? They have changed the styling on the E series to look like the R's now. Just wandering what your plans were for the tractor. I ordered my 3035e with the r1 tires and the new 300E loader with tax and all for 17500
Just so you know, you can get your Yanmar tractor serviced at any John Deere Dealership as well because Deere uses Yanmar engines and transmissions in their tractors.
The 1989 john deere 755 . I just picked up from a dealer with only 350 hours has a 20 hp Yanmar 3 cyl . It has the coolant heater and a hydraulics fluid heater installed on it . I have not even plugged them in . Yesterday we were 19 degrees . Fired right up . I really like it ! On a side note notice how the sales man names several round about prices of what he is selling . Thats like going to look at a used car and the dealers like . This one costs in the 4500-5000 area. The dealer I went to had all there prices new and used wrote on a tag on the steering wheel .
do you know the site where i can find the parts break down for a kubota 2320,thanks in advance, love your videos ,outdoors with the morgans got 3 tractors from rural king to play with for 2 years, watch his videos, maybe some one will send you one to try for your shows.
I like to evaluate the attitude of the sales and service people. I also like prices to be on the equipment or vehicle or at least give me a price when i ask.
Nope, I didn't care for that response. With so many competitors in the tractor business. I want a price and friendly salesperson. Was this a side buisness or did they sell other tractors. Because on a slow day i would be learning about pricing so i could answer these tough questions my customers might have.
I think the salesman was of the age & experience to see a couple with a camera and enough experience to know he was getting a good jacking.I thought he was accommodating as possible.
My Komatsu excavator runs Yanmar engine 43 horsepower turbocharged. I don't think we have any Yanmar tractor dealerships up here in Ontario Canada that I know of, where are they built off shores or in the Americas? Thanks for sharing
Hi Tim mice video i noticed them tractors have not been moved for a long time the grass is dead under all the front buckets but they are nice tractors but what about the cost of parts that you will need down the road
Nice thing about the Yanmar is the FEL bucket sticks out a lot further than it does on the JD. Makes it a lot easier to load dirt on to trucks and such, especially at full height.
My first tractor was a Yanmar. Loved it. I too looked at the new ones. Research shows that they are having trouble with dealers. Parts and price points are hurting them. Distribution network and factory are not as helpful to dealers according to one dealer I talked to.
They used to be partnered with Cub cadet and that all went to pot. I don't like that they don't support parts seems like they're not interested in America and think they should be carried here in their reputation abroad. That doesn't work that way.
Don't know if they sell in America, but I have a Deutz-Fahr Agrokid 230. Its between both Yanmar tractors you have seen I guess. Its 50hp, lift capacity is 1.200 kg with or without cab ... I like mine, but thats like with the tiller you buy, you always love the one you bought :)
Yep snowed here to in Oklahoma about the same time you got yours lol in April crazy. I also notice the cable that's funny that's not going to stop someone from stealing the tractor lol. If I where you look at the Kioti tractor they are coming along really well now and they are made I believe in Alabama.
good luck with your search, to each his or her own, but Orange is the only color I'll buy...you want in that 40'ish range - with all the bells and whistles - go look at a Kubota Grand L - an L4060 and I think you will be impressed.
Great Video Tim you bring up a lot of good points for someone to think about when buying a tractor or many types of equipment as far as that goes. Thanks for taking us with you. Have a great weekend. God Bless!!!
Excellent comment. Thanks. I think you saw the main point of this video. It really wasn't about the specific tractor...more about the 'tractor shopping experience'.
I would talk to the dealer that took back the 3 series and see if they can find you a good deal on a tractor. I personally have two jd dealers within my purchase area and I gave them both a chance to complete when I purchased my 1025r ended up getting mine at dealer cost.
tim i am a ag and hd equipment tech for newholland, bobcat, yanmar, jd, case and takeuchi. i think kubota makes the best compact tractors. just my professional opinion.have a good day good luck tractor hunting.
yeah were planing buying all kubota's replacing all the deeres and newholland snowplow tractors and kubota L3560 a 37hp tractor is pretty desent price with loader for $29,487 that lifts 1,720lbs
I'm in the exact opposite situation... have a Kioti NX6010 right now which I have been VERY pleased with, but looking for something light and small with turf tires to do small lawn work. Really considering the 1025r with backhoe and autoconnect deck... seems like a really nice setup!
Another thing to put into a buying factor is are they partially open on the weekends cause there is going to be a day that you have to get parts on a Saturday
Tim, i would really look into the Kioti CK3510HST, it probably is exactly the size your looking for. more lifting capacity over 235. Good features. Price is pretty good too, usually. I have the ck 2610 which is the 25 hp version and i enjoy it alot and has served me well.
Kubota/New Holland and John Deere were the only dealerships close to us for considering a tractor. The kubotas were out of the price range with the attachments we were looking for, and the new Hollands were too big. They're both at the same dealer. It's a Kubota/new holland dealer. We went with the 1025r. Economically made more sense and we liked the features of it. Had there been a mahindra or yanmar dealer near us could it have been different? I wonder myself
Ha. You mentioned the dealer wasn't close. Maybe a hour away... In my neck of the woods. It takes almost a hour to even go anywhere.. I say anything within 2 hours is close.. I have a Massey Ferguson 2706e tractor absolutely love it.
Check out the rk37 from rural king if you have a location near you. Ls tractor is another brand to look at. Both are more cost effective then other brands
Tim nice video, man that salesman blew big time, I can't believe how monotone and bored he was I think he just wanted to get back to his desk. If you buy a Yanmar don't buy one from them. Check out the Kioti if you can. Good luck in your search.
Tim, you should see if a Mahindra tractor dealer is near you guys. Our family just bought a emax25 and it is amazing. The dealer service is amazing, nice and close to us and the big thing that got us is the 7 year warrenty top to bottom. If anything goes wrong with the tractor, its under warrenty. The initial breakout force is better then the john deere. You should look it up. The price for thta tractor was around 20.000$ with a box scrapper, weight box and a blade with the 60 ince mower deck.
No, No. we thought this would make an interesting video series. In a sense, it is more for entertainment value for our viewers than for our education. We thought folks would enjoy seeing real world dealer visits.
Good to hear, Was so sorry to hear that happen to you. Talked to a few local folks here in SC to get there thoughts but they were all over the place so I'm assuming your getting plenty of "opinions" all ready. Would love to see a video like this of the New Hollands and what they might have in this price range. Hope you all have a great evening.
I truly appreciate your videos. I used to do videos and know the hours it takes to plan, shoot and edit for the quality you provide. I also had a 3720 cab JD with many impliments. About 3 yrs ago, health issues forced me to sell all my JD and video stuff. In the summer of 2016, Jesus repaired my failing heart and gave me a renewed life. I began wanting a tractor again. After looking at the current JD line, the 1 family just didn't appeal to me. They were nothing like the 3720. I decided to buy the Yanmar 324 with a back hoe and although my Yamnar dealer is 1 hour away, they have gone out of their way to provide both on site and dealership service. I do miss my "green" friend, but Big Red has proven to be one great machine. I also agree with your open station cmments. Yes, the cab is comfy... but the open station has its advantages too. The biggest advantage I've found is a greater awareness of my impliments in relationship to the work area. This makes working in tight situations a lot easier, as you and Christie already know. John Deere is a great tractor, but my Yanmar has proven to be great also. Just not that many dealers around.
Unless John Deere is doing something different, Johnny has a yanmar engine. I habe a yanmar 1401D that was built between 79 - 81. It starts and runs great. Tough little tractor. My research says it's 18hp. Wish it had front end loader and I am thinking about buy the 4' tiller next spring like the one you have.
I bought a used yanmar about 10 years ago (22 horse). Very tough tractor. However, the bucket arms were not secure and kept breaking the bolts and stripping the cast iron threads. I finally had them welded to the frame and problem solved. Newer models are probably different.
I work in the woods on a hunting lease and the hydraulics located down underneath as I saw on the Yanmar is a sure fire problem. Cabs are out in woods as well. I purchased the basic Mahindra with gear shift to keep it simple but my 4550 is too large for you so believe you should look into a Mahindra 2500 with hydro or shuttle shift. Yanmar I believe is a Korean tractor not Japanese but then that could have changed since I last looked at one a year ago. The local Yanmar dealer flunked so went with the Mahindra dealer and was able to get into my tractor with loader, 20 foot trailer, and brush hog for slightly over $30K. Understand I took the approach that simple is more reliable......still remember my Viet Nam days with AK 47 clunkers still firing when my M-16 jammed.

being in potato country there is a lot of tractor knowledge up here. i started with 0 and have learned a lot with much left to learn. love your vids and the thoughtful approach you take to things while injecting humor.
Thanks for watching, Erik, and thanks for your comment.
The 3R is the same wheelbase as 2R. Yet, much more lift capacity. This is my line of thinking. Remain small and nimble, yet ‘stout’
It was cold, but the salesman was not very interested in you or knowledgeable about the product.
RK Harm24 bb
My 4044R has a Yanmar engine and just like you said it starts right up, all the time. I looked at Yanmar tractors and everything else Kubota, New Holland, Kioti, TYM, etc as I am fortunate to live in a big ag area with lots of choices.
Since I tend to keep things for a really, really long time my concern is with parts and support for this major purchase 10+ years after the sale. I ended up with only 2 real choices - John Deere and Kubota, all the rest were either to new or had come & gone several times over the years (New Holland, Yanmar).
Steve Sutton do you have any 4044R vids ?
Sorry but I do not, if you search for 4044 (or its siblings 4052 & 4066) you can find some videos.
steve sutton: yeah were planing to replace our compact boomer 2320 23hp and planing replacing for a 33.5 hp b3350 series kubota with 4 cylinder
I bot a 7320 cab Kioti situ everything NICE TRACTOR
That salesman was completely unmotivated
He was looking like a sconks forced to get out from hes warmed house.. What a dick..
He was just old and just doing his job. Not a high pressure slickster.
Greetings from Reno, Nevada.
I enjoy the interaction between you two.
Yanmar makes excellent equipment, especially engines. In fact, most goods from Japan are extremely high quality.
Thank you both for taking us along
Tim, look into Branson’s. The company makes a very solid and reliable tractor for a quite reasonable price. I recently purchased a 7845C. It came with a large comfortable cab and more features than I can list. I paid about the same price for it as the Yanmar dealer was asking for that 347 and the Branson is a 78 hp model that weighs about 7000 lbs. it was a bigger tractor than I really need but I’ve had 2 smaller ones and each left me wishing I had a bigger one with more power. They also make a 55 hp model 5520 with cab for about 32k. Also loaded with features.
Congratulations, Dennis!
Thanks.
Thanks for taking us along :-) We are expecting a snow storm Sunday :-(
No! No! Please, no more winter! :-)
Ask RK how long they stood behind their LAST attempt at tractors?
i have an 87 yanmar 226D with a JD cab. it has 3 spd on the trans with clutch then 3 spd + revers on the column, (clutchless) has separate brake pedals but currently bolted together, also if its spinning there is a pedal that locks the rear axle, and of course the loader and pto.
Great video Tim the one tractor had been there awhile the grass was gone under the bucket
Thanks for taking us along for the ride. Very informative.
Due in large part to all the reasons you mentioned I went with my local JD dealer - new 1025R is being delivered next Tuesday!
Tim have you looked at LS tractors if so what is your thoughts? I think I am going to look at them this weekend.
To replace Johnny or addition to the fleet? I have a 2009 kubota B3200 (32 horsepower) and I love it. Always starts first turn.
Watch prior ‘future plans’ video. ...hey, gotta watchem all!! :-)
Tractor Time with Tim Thanks, must have put it out while I was on vacation. Will take a look right now. Haven't missed a video in a very long time.
We’re on hold for now. Several other irons in the fire.
I just bought a Yanmar 424 with front bucket. Very comfortable to ride
Interesting. Thanks for the comment.
My oh my! Looking at Yanmar and the first ad in the video was JD.
Hey Tim, I was wondering if soil compaction due to tractor weight and wheel size was a factor in your selection process?
Good point Denise. It is a factor. One thought is that larger tires will spread that weight over a larger area, so hopefully it won.’the be much different.
Tim I like the tractor but I don’t like where the hydraulic hoses are connect. To the loader to low.
Agreed. That is why we showed them.
We’ve discussed Skid steer. Agree with your points about their usefulness.
They're twice the price though.
For what it’s worth, I’ve been very happy with my Kubota L series. Happy tractor hunting!
I own a Yanmar 424 and really have enjoyed it the last 2 years, good little tractor.
They seem solid, and lots of years of experience in the market!
Kioti is Korean , I have had a ck20 for 12 years ,thing is bullet proof
They're all Korean anymore Kubota is a Japanese company though and I believe they're made in Germany. The L2501 is a great value in it's class and is on an actual tractor frame and gets in below tier 4
Nice we have a 1986 yanmar 1500 works awesome holds up and always starts yanmar is awesome
Agreed. Love the old Oliver in your Avatar.
Tractor Time with Tim thanks for liking ur awesome will suscribe ur so nice
You planning on trading in your JD or just getting another, larger one to go along with it? I know at times there are things you try to do with yours that it just wasn't made for (lifting really heavy rocks and such). However, there are times when he fits into places where a larger one wouldn't fit.... just wondering.
Discussed this in a recent ‘future planning’ video.
I ordered my 3035e with the r1 tires and the new 300E loader with tax and all for 17500
3025E.....typo
Any luck getting a refund from that auction?
do you know the site where i can find the parts break down for a kubota 2320,thanks in advance, love your videos ,outdoors with the morgans got 3 tractors from rural king to play with for 2 years, watch his videos, maybe some one will send you one to try for your shows.
RK offered, but they insisted that I get rid of Johnny. So, we declined.
I like to evaluate the attitude of the sales and service people. I also like prices to be on the equipment or vehicle or at least give me a price when i ask.
You didn’t like somewhere between a million and 20,000? The answer was “I’ll have to look when we get inside...”
Then, inside, he quoted MSRP
Japan, I think. There may be some assembly here in the states, not sure.
japan thats were kubotas are made and shipped to canada
might want to try Mahindra 2500 series.
Hi Tim mice video i noticed them tractors have not been moved for a long time the grass is dead under all the front buckets but they are nice tractors but what about the cost of parts that you will need down the road
Yes, I noticed :-)
Have you had a look at the case farmall compact tractors there not to bad either
Grass under those buckets would be dead in days. Gone in not much longer.
In the summer, yes, in winter, no
why not a used 2 or 3 series Deere or even a used Kubota MX5000?
Try Kubota b01 series they are awesome Kubota b2301 or b2601 we have the b2601 and we love it
Nice thing about the Yanmar is the FEL bucket sticks out a lot further than it does on the JD. Makes it a lot easier to load dirt on to trucks and such, especially at full height.
I guess you are right. At first, I viewed this as a disadvantage, leverage working against max lift capacity. ...but I see your point.
It's one of my biggest complaints with the smaller JD tractors.
Yes, combined with limited lift height, hard to dump on anything.
I went with the 2038R and when it was delivered my oldest son drove it and his first comment was this is a beast.
I removed that nasty reply, David.
Thanks. Never saw it.
Will you be shopping at Rural King for a tractor? The RK47 might be right for your requirements and the price may also be right.
No. Made by TYM...just like Mahindra.
Ask for the wranglerstar discount and mention locktite.
Brian Webber i
wranglerstar did not have a good start with the yanmar tractor. It took him awhile to get all the attachment sorted out.
good luck with your search, to each his or her own, but Orange is the only color I'll buy...you want in that 40'ish range - with all the bells and whistles - go look at a Kubota Grand L - an L4060 and I think you will be impressed.
Look at the Antonio Carraro TTR 4400. Compact, powerfull and with reverse drive position.
I like the idea of the cvt on the 347, but they're dealer Network isn't there, it's new technology, and the dealers are all 150 miles away.
Don't feel bad it snowed here today. If you do decide to add to the TTWT family hope we'll be the first ones to know. Good luck with your search.
Are the rear fenders plastic?
I'm in the exact opposite situation... have a Kioti NX6010 right now which I have been VERY pleased with, but looking for something light and small with turf tires to do small lawn work.
Really considering the 1025r with backhoe and autoconnect deck... seems like a really nice setup!
You will LOVE the 1025r. It is incredibly handy.
Another thing to put into a buying factor is are they partially open on the weekends cause there is going to be a day that you have to get parts on a Saturday
Love your channel would be a dream to see your channel with the rk or TYM tractors and learn a lot about the machines.. thanks for all the content :)
Seems like TYM is giving tractors to every UA-camr now. We are not interested in that.
Tim, i would really look into the Kioti CK3510HST, it probably is exactly the size your looking for. more lifting capacity over 235. Good features. Price is pretty good too, usually. I have the ck 2610 which is the 25 hp version and i enjoy it alot and has served me well.
Love my Little red YM 2000. Use to have an old tricycle Jd 1959 year just to big for me. Keep the videos coming.
Where are you going to store the new tractor
Recommendation:
Kubota B50 series
Have you looked at kiotes?
My cousin is a Regional Sales Manager (RSM) at Yanmar America in Tulsa, OK.
Nice video. When I shop for tractors I consider weight and what the machine is made of before features. For example steel, iron, plastics vs steel etc
Made by TYM, of course.
You couldn't give me Mahindra tractor. I'd rather use a shovel and wheelbarrow.
Great video as always. Are you looking outside of the JD line because there not treating you well with the horrible situation you found yourself in?
No, No. we thought this would make an interesting video series. In a sense, it is more for entertainment value for our viewers than for our education. We thought folks would enjoy seeing real world dealer visits.
Remember, we’ve seen all of these tractor brands up close at the farm shows.
Sorry to keep replying. We are not upset at all with Deere, or the Deere dealer involved in our case. They are handling it fine.
Great comment. Thanks! Christy edits nearly full time now.
Have you heard anything from the John Deere dealer about the other tractor?
You should take a look at the kubota b50 series
Have you considered Massey Ferguson?
Great video. You mention so good points for tractor shopping.
