Coming from putting hundreds of hours on a 3520 deere and now putting hundreds on a L3560 kubota I can honestly tell you I love the kubota it is way heavier tractor in all aspects then the deere the loader (805) is just so much tougher. I thought that I would hate the treadle peddle and never get used to it and now it is a non issue and do not even think about it (I move my foot from forward to reverse) auto throttle is awesome for loader work i would not be without it. Cab is sooo nice so quiet and comfortable. High low on th column I use that all the time in the winter blowing snow so I don't have to be switching ranges constantly. Throttle advance on the loader control is nice for loader work if you are piling snow or dirt sometimes when you don't want to move but have faster hydraulic response. I could go on all day why I love the kubota but on of the best things it has over some of these other brands (LS, kioti, mahindra) is RESALE value lol

First hand comparison. Hundreds of hours on each. Very useful. Would love to hear even more detail as a reply to this comment. I will ‘pin’ it to the top so that others see it.

    • @TractorTimewithTim
      @TractorTimewithTim  6 років тому +1

teddy, on your 'comparison tractors', did you have fluid filled tires and/or wheel weights? On both tractors? Just wondering if this impacts the "heavier' feeling you mentioned, or if you meant something totally different by that.

    • @1teddy1979
      @1teddy1979 6 років тому

Tractor Time with Tim oh ya I meant heavier built like if you put the deere and kubota side by side. Axles everything is built much more stout in this size. Even if you look at loader arms and especially bucket I bent the deere bucket from putting a chain around and lifting that would not happen with the heavier built bucket of the kubota. I think ballast of some sort is a must with ether one of those tractors with the loader

I had the same results comparing a JD 3035e and New Holland Workmaster 33. The JD was slightly shorter and narrower, fiberglass hood, and an aluminum differential. Everything was a little skimpier on the JD which translated into
1000 lb. difference in weight. I have the New Holland now and I love it.

What an impressive dealership! Another knowledgeable dealer. Makes our local Deere dealerships look rather ill equipped in the compact tractor inventory. You bring up an interesting point...that it’s difficult to know just how big to go when growing from a 1025r. Thanks for bringing us along!

Tim finding a great dealer is half the battle. I got a John Deere and a Kubota dealership within a 15 minute drive of my house. The JD dealership leaves a lot to be desired while the Kubota dealership has a great reputation. I chose a Kubota and I haven't been sorry, not that I have anything against a Deere because I do own a 52 model A. Kubota really does make a great product.

    Hi Tim and Family,
Been watching and enjoying your channel for some time! Not one to normally express opinion but wanted to chime in on behalf of my experience owning, operating and self maintaining Kubota tractors. I’ve been a Kubota owner over 30 years. Started with a B7200 HST -then moved into a B3030HSDC. With routine maintenance performed, these tractors reliably delivered great service beyond my expectations. As you have found in your experience, the more you use your sub-compact tractor, the more you find uses for them. I’ve always seemed to find myself reach the limitations of the tractor with a project remaining in my minds eye where personally I couldn’t justify a tractor upgrade. Thanks to my wife’s subtle encouragements I.e.. “You wouldn’t be out there all day if you didn’t like it... Imagine what you can do... you live once and deserve a cab. 5 years ago I made a leap into a Grand 5740 HSTC that opened up a world of projects a subcompact just cannot accomplish. His name is “Buddy” Other than routine maintenance over 900 hours, Buddy performs flawlessly and I haven’t reached any project limitations. Buddy has huge filled turf tires, rear hydraulic remotes, Implements- FEL 3rd function with tooth-bar/poly edge for snow, grapple, 48” forks, box scraper, landscape rake, 9’ finish mower, hydraulic earth pan, post hole auger, 74” reverse gear drive tiller, 3pt weight box and a carry-all. Anything I’d do differently- no sir, I am a totally satisfied Kubota customer. My 2 cents: keep “Johnny” for work he can perform in those small areas at 75% of his max, then purchase a large frame compact tractor choosing more HP then you planned. If you can swing a CAB, the financial pain of I t will waste away under a smile with no regrets. Keep up the great videos and I’ll be looking forward to which new tractor comes your way. Warm regards, ...tugg

I have 3 Kubota tractors. 2003 B7500, 2005 Grand L4330 and a 2012 B3200... I wouldn’t own any other brand, the quality on these tractors are superior to other brands in my opinion. We run Kubota at work too, RTVs, Zero Turns and Compacts... engines are bullet proof! All of the Kubota machines I have operated are very fuel efficient. It’s insane how many hours of service people get out of these machines. Take care, my vote is with Kubota... 100%.

I highly recomend you guys Kubota, we have a M9540 Kubota tractor and we love it a lot, Here in Mexico in Chihuahua people grow tousands of acres of apples and almost every grower has kubotas.
People like the big John Deeres a lot but for compact tractors the prefer for kubota because the last a lot longer and specialy the last clutch last a lot longer.
Kubota are very durable tractors and one more thing why people choose kubota because the consume a lot less fuel.

I think just having the keys to thedealership is your best bet! My approach to buying equipment is to ask if you can demo it on one of your jobs to see if it is the one. If they truly want your business they will demo it for you and you know you have a good dealership as well as product. Good luck and thanks a lot for the entertainment much appreciated.

Go Orange! I just got a B2650. I have 10 hours on it now and it does everything I need on my 11 acres. I was originally looking to get into a BX, but decided to step up. I’ve been so happy with the capability of the B2650. Got a Heavy Hitch tooth bar based on your recommendation and very happy with that too. Thanks for the TTWT discount. WoodMaxx Flail mower FM62 arrived last week and can’t wait to use it. Anyway, don’t discount the larger frame B-Series. They are very capable, yet retain a lot of the maneuverability and convenience of a sub-contact. Join the Orange side!

Just bought an Orange Tractor. I loved Kubota's features and price, with a solid reputation! Had it not been for Messick Farm Equipment channel I may have hesitated a bit on Kubota as it seems everything in MN is JD Green....Still getting used to my L3560. I used the auto throttle advance tonight and loved it! Go with Kubota! Most JD's aren't assembled in USA anyway so I had no issue buying from Kubota and supporting my local dealer!I wish Messick's was near me, would have went to them for sure! Thanks for all your time in making the videos.

Deciding on a tractor is not an easy thing Tim!
I am still trying to figure out which one to go with myself. My neighbor has been kind enough to let me borrow his tractor (An L4400) and I am amazed at the amount of work I have been able to get done with it. After seeing the work I was able to do with my neighbor’s tractor, my lovely bride has found several projects that she wants done (Such as putting in a garden and installing fencing for that, running electrical and water lines, etc…). I originally started out looking at a BX series for our place, but after talking with you and other folks more knowledge than myself, I am now leaning somewhere around an L3301 or an L3901.
That used L4060 you looked at sure was sweet and that seemed to be a decent price for it. I really liked all the features, especially the enclosed cab. I also liked your dealer. He reminds me a lot of the local Kubota dealer here. He was also the owner of the shop and took the time to show me and my wife several different tractors. He then sat down with us and wrote up the projected total cost with the estimated monthly payments for each rig. I have since emailed him a couple of times asking to re-write the estimates with additional upgrades, such as a third function valve, backhoe and cruise control. Each time he got back to me promptly and answered all my questions.
I am hoping to make the final decision on my tractor within the next couple of months. I can’t wait to see what you end up with!

How great is it when a dealer says "My property goes all the way back to the tree, take the tractor and go have fun!" That was really cool, hats off to Doug! Buying a tractor today is very much like buying a digital camera was 15 years ago... Tons of choices but you have to make a few concessions with every choice. I must say most people I know prefer the dual pedals over a rocker style, pushing on the heel is not very intuitive.... Great Episode! Thanks!

I thought you might like a Grand L3560 as what I purchased for my small 40 acres. It helps with moving snow, road maintenance and general cleanup around my place. Cab in the winter is great no heavy coat to restrict what you need to do but in the summertime is just as nice as there is an ac that takes off most of the edge of a heavy hot day. The feature about the cab that I liked was the ability to see 360 without too much hassle and still get things done without any restrictions on sight. In the winter if it gets foggy in the cab you can set your blowers to help remove the fogging and they do have electric heaters for the glass to also help reduce the fogging. I have used mine with the loader, pallet forks, rear blade, box scraper, drag harrow or a post hole digger. All-in-all I also have to say for what I spent I would have had to pay double or more for the same in a John Deere and my financed tractor will be paid for in 5 years with 0% loan by Kubota. The last pretty much sealed the deal for me. Just thought you might appreciate the comment from someone who just moved into a tractor for my property. It will do a lot and save me money at the same time. Also you will love the cab no question about it.

If I were you Tim, I would spend a little bit more money on a bigger JD. I really think you would be glad you did, when you think about it. I ran Cub Cadets for years before getting a John Deere tractor, a 1025r like yours, and although Cubs are a great tractor for the money, they don’t hold a candle to the JD. I say life is short, make the right decision, and enjoy it. I know you will when it comes time to make your purchase, weather it’s a JD or not.

I didn’t get much use out of it due to its size. I sold it and went with a Kioti CK3510 and couldn’t be happier. Just the right size with plenty of power and lift capacity. I’ll be trading it soon for the same one with a cab.

That cab model Kubota is sure loaded with features and quiet. I had a BX22 for 10 years and it never had anything go wrong with it in over 1200 hours of regular use. They do have a good reputation.

Hi Tim,I have a 2018 3046R with loader. I found it hard tractor shopping and knowing what size to buy, without over/under buying. If you all want to make a trip to Georgia. (south of the airport about 30min.) We have a few acres of land (1) that was just cleared. You are welcome to test drive this model and play in the dirt. A new box blade and Rake from Everything Attachment should be here tomorrow, and I already have pallet forks if you wanted to test them also.Really enjoyed watching your videos. Thanks,Kev

Kubota for the win!! Much higher quality than Deere! They are like Toyota of Farm tractors. And they employ a lot of people in the US. Many of the smaller machines are made here

Would totally trust kubota. My family has an 07 bobcat s250 with the kubota diesel. Has ran for 11 years and 4500+ hours. We have only out about 500 hours on it in 9 years. It used to be a sunbelt rentals machine when we bought it. Very low maintenance had one professional tune up about 5 years ago but other than that just oil changes and easy stuff we do ourselves. We have even looked into a kubota BX for my father’s property but he has decided that a UTV would be better than a tractor but we still may go and look at the kubota UTV based on our experience with their long lasting product.

Please go to your nearest LS dealer. I just got my new LS XR4145C which is a 45hp shuttle drive cab tractor. It is VERY quiet and easy to drive, probably a fraction of the price of that used Kubota too. Loader has a lift capacity of 2700lbs! Though, it does have the 'sloppy bucket syndrome' that is easily fixed with a flow restrictor ($20 on amazon). The loader reaches over 10ft measured... I'll have a video up this week (hopefully) of my tractor. It really is a great tractor at an affordable price.

I really liked the 4060. The reason I like the L60 series is the stall guard and throttle advance for loader work. That seems really handy to me, especially considering that’s all I do with my tractor. The B2301 works just fine for me, though.

OOOH! You're looking at the Grand L! Those are a lot fancier than my Standard L3301. I hadn't looked closely at the Grand L due to my budget, so I just learned a whole bunch of cool stuff that I didn't even know already as a Kubota owner for the last year. Ok, I'll admit that I upliked the video as soon as I saw orange, before I even pressed play. :)
The one Grand L feature that I really wish I had on my Standard L is the telescoping lower links. I did get the pin-adjustable sway bars instead of the standard turn buckles, since those are offered as an option on the Standard L. I agree that the loader hoses look like they're out in harm's way (they're inboard of the loader arms on my Standard L). The fuel fill on that Grand L looks a lot more convenient than the one on my Standard L, which is up on top of the hood. The Bobcat-style front quick attach would give you lots of options for front attachments. I have that on my L3301, and I kept my old forks from the Bobcat 753 that my new L3301 replaced. Incidentally, that Bobcat had a Kubota engine.
I know you've expressed concern about filming and interacting with the customer with a cab, but I think you could make it work just fine. The quiet cab is great for narrating with a camera pointing at the driver, like you did in this video. You could use a walkie talkie to talk to folks on the ground. I wonder how hard it is to take off the doors for more direct interaction during fair weather?
That dealer really did come across as being open and helpful.

Hi if i was you I'd go for the 2nd hand one with cab. I've got the Kubota 1620 with loader and you'd be amazed what that can do being only 16hp.
Of the places you've shown this was by far the best dealership and i think a good dealer is worth a lot. That's why I went with the Kubota because the dealership was so good there was nothing to much trouble. As soon as tractor arrived they asked me to come and have a good look before they put it together ect. I definitely liked that dealer you had letting you have good go on the tractor.

    Hi Tim,
I'm sure you get buried with comments and suggestions, I have just purchased a compact tractor, and your videos were of great help. However I went with team orange and their BX25D rather than team green because the integration of implements was so much better in Australia for the Kubota.
    Good luck with your search.

Hey Tim. Just in case you're interested, I did a little searching online. The Kioti DK5310SE is rated at 50hp with Hydrostatic transmission; the loader attachment has a max lift of +2,400 lbs up to a max height of around 8ft. Total weight with front loader and cab is around 4,400 lbs. No clue on the pricing though.

I recently bought the 2032R john deere because I work in the back yard as you do. It is too heavy to do a lot of the things you accomplish but so far I am getting along pretty good. I had a canopy on it but took it off because of the work around trees etc. I'm not sure what your need is now with your new property, but for what you do around your neighborhood, Johnny is just right.
For me, to work around 3 creeks I have to cross, I needed bigger tires or Johnny would have made a better choice for me too.

I have been grading yards for many years...started out with a Kobota 2250, went to a New Holland 1920, went to a Deere 4700 and now a Deere 4720. Would always choose Deere. I don't like the Kubota Hydrostat Pedal versus the John Deere, especially when grading yards.

Hey Tim, I bought my Kubota a couple months ago from McCallister Outdoors in Indianapolis (from a great guy named Tim!) I shopped around and they knocked off a $1000 from my lowest quote (which was in Lafayette) to get my business. Just an FYI - sometimes the larger dealers have a little more play room with pricing.
Edit - your guy in Danville sure seemed to know his stuff though!
