The dealer was very humble but very knowledgable, helpful, and not at all pushy. I hope he sells tons of tractors.
Ive got a 2007 Mahindra 1526 series with 1000+ hours on it used for loader work and brush hogging mainly . Last month I bought a Mahindra 2555 Open station. The 1526 is still a great machine that I have not had any issues with. I do maintain my machines well and dont beat on them. The way the 1526 has held up made it easy for me to pick up another Mahindra! Cheers!
I have a 1967 Ford with 6000 hours on it with no problems
I also bought a 2555 a few years back and learned Mahindra wont honor their warranty. Mine has been sitting in the field since February
All the comments bashing Mahindra. I owned one for years and its been flawless and reliable. They have less features than other tractors, but the way i look at it less things to break.
I agree I've had one for about 4 yrs now. Works great no problems. Just normal PM.
I jumped on a brand new mahindra to test drive I broke the plastic with my foot hardly touched it the key switch wouldn't work and when he did get the key switch to work the damn thing wouldn't start he said don't worry about that I put a new fuel pumps on them before you buy it. I told him I'm going to John Deere.

For the money, they can’t be beat. Word on the street is the little compact emax is not good but larger is tough. 45 series has no plastic except for steering wheel and knobs.
I been running Mahindra for a year and a half and have no problems it is amazing and does everything I need it to do
I own a 2538 Mahindra. It has been flawless and maintenance is easy. It’s the predecessor to the 2638 Tim looked at. The seat and joystick placement has been addressed in the 2638. Better placement and suspension seat. The PTO lever on the left hand side is left in the ON position and the dash switch is used for turning the PTO off and on. The lever by the seat is for unlocking the PTO when hooking something up so the shaft can be spun easily for alignment.
I bought the 3540 mahindra shuttle shift. Absolutely great tractor with the backhoe. More lifting capability than the others i tried out.
I have same model and i had never face any problem,,,
Don't understand these negative Mahindra comments....Have had one for years....and has been flawless......My neighbors have Kubotas and Deeres....all with many problems....Guess it is coincidental?
They have all been chucked by Chucky the crude mechanic.. LOL
Dont start to compare a Mahindra to a Deere.........I have no issues with Mahindras, they are good equipment, but the hydraulics dont even come close to the Deere. We break ours constantly, but its us overloading what ever we are using. That hydro system is stronger than the tractor. A Kubota the same size doesnt lift near the weight(we found that out first hand thanks to a now pissed off Kubota owner)

Have a Deer 410 as a backhoe (2008) and almost caught fire.Many mechanical problems.Think i bought a lemon.Had a 1977 Case and still runs good.
have had a Mahindra for 15 yrs, have had a few minor problems , but is a great tractor, could nt afford a Deere or Massey, but the mahindra beat the other 2 in every cat. Other then resale,at half the price.
Good to see you looked at some Mahindra tractors. I bought one new this year and I love it. Appreciate all the info you share Tim!
I have the Mahindra 4025 four-wheel-drive. It is the same version as the 4550 it is a power horse I don’t care how about the extra features that comes on the other tractors I just want a plain work horse in a tractor and with Mahindra. I got it and it
is a great tractors.
I love my 2538 Mahindra!!! wait I love that seat on the 2600 man that is adding cherry on top of you good tractor.
I am about to take her in for her 50 hour maintenance, so what tractor did you buy I bet a JD ha ha . So what was the comparisons cost of the tractor in the 38 to 40 horse power?
Have not purchased.
However, it will not be Mahindra due to their unwillingness to warranty if used for commercial work.
Yeah that is true, but I don't do any commercial work if I did I think I would go with a kubota that was my second choice on tractor. I think with the Mahindra is that none use of the diesel particulate filter is the unwillingness to warranty commercial work. But for some one like me that does not use the tractor so heavily and have to change out that filter is so so costly.

I really like that you include verses in your videos, not enough of that out there. God bless!
I have 3year old mahindra 40hp model ,its solid never had any problem, i love it
I just bought a Mahindra 1526 tlb shuttle and love it. I think they are available up to 38 horse on the the same frame. I prefer shuttle especially for loader work. Mitsubishi makes a good Diesel engine. Kubota and John Deere make a nice tractor but I’m not crazy about the aluminum you need the weight in the back.God bless Tim
Great video Tim and Christy. I was all set to go with a subcompact Deere or Massey, but then I briefly was able to operate my brother-in-law's Yanmar YT235. Nothing special about Yanmar but it really opened my eyes to evaluating a compact tractor size as well. So all of these videos you're doing on the compact class are very helpful to me in seeing other tractors without the potentially negative dealership experience.
Really enjoy the tractor search videos
Thanks for the feedback
I've owned a couple Mahindra tractors now. One of which I beat and abuse regularly and it is yet to fail. I do follow a strict maintenance schedule though. That being said the only brand of tractor I have ever not liked was John Deere. I feel like they have been coasting on an old reputation that just isn't true anymore. Old JD tractors are great and heck the new ones might be as well. My personal experience with them was poor. At least I have owned and ran one before I choose to knock it. A lot of people hate on Mahindra and that is fine everyone is welcome to their opinion. Make sure they have actually owned one before you listen to them though. It is very easy to read one persons opinion online and then spread it like the gospel. At the end of the day. Only you know what is best for you. Cheers!
The new Deeres are phenomenal. Yanmar engines which nobody can knock and a hydraulic system that is absolutely second to none.
John Deere are yanmars painted green
Not anymore. Lots different than the Yanmars now.
@@daleolson3506 yanmar engine only. Deere hyraulics
You are NOT alone with your poor results with JD. They have a "romantic" rep of some kind today, but the truth is that while the old ones were durable, they were an outdated machine by the 1940's. The name had changed, but they were still, basically, a Waterloo Boy hit-and-miss engine (albeit SLIGHTLY modernized) driving a tractor.
The quality of all their utility and mid-size ag tractors is fair at best, and the utility's are certainly not up to many competitors. And Massey Ferguson? People bought the later models based on the reputation the older 100 series built, but their tractors today are JUNK. I think my brother's (and his neighbor's) JD are much better than the current MF's.
Strange comment section. Mahindra owners are all loving their tractors and the non owners are slamming it.
Love my Mahindra. My second one.
Ain't that the truth. My two 4035 are awesome and used like work horses.
Welcome to the internet.... have you tried Reddit? 😂
Im a 2555 owner since 2016 and can tell you Mahindra doesn’t stand by their warranty. Their shop manuals are broken english and the diagrams looks like they’ve been faxed a dozen times. This is my first and last Mahindra.
Had one and I was very disappointed. Both product and service were a huge disappointment. Just my experience.
I see all the anti-Mahinda sentiment in the comments. I have 2016 PST 3550 4x4 with about 280 hours on it. I have had no problems at all and it's done everything I've ever asked of it. Nothing needed other than preventative maintenance. Given my experience, I'd buy another Mahindra. My Dad has had JD his entire life and although they are good tractors, it seems like you pay an awful lot more for the green paint.
One thing I didn't hear the salesman say is that the Mahindra 2500/2600 series tractors are three cylinder, while getting into the 3500 series tractors and up are four cylinder. So the 2500 50HP isn't the same as the 3500 50HP.
Plz watch this m.ua-cam.com/video/YeeCl6NAaXo/v-deo.html
I looked very hard at the 3550! They didn’t have any in stock and made it worth my while to go with the Mpower 85P. I have a Mahindra 3616HST as well and love it. I use the heck out of them and they are beasts that just take the work and shrug it off!
I really liked the old school 50 hp model at the end...low 20s...incredible!
I have Mahindra 2555 hst open station. Great tractor. Has more features than the tractors shown in the video.
Bought my Mahindra new and put 15,000 hours on it in the first week. Never had to do maintenance, never had to put gas in it. Best machine I've ever had.
Wow! That was a busy week!!!
@@TractorTimewithTim Thank you for the comment! I was just playing. Really enjoy your content.
I love your shirts - especially the ARK shirts. I'm fortunate enough to live just 45 minutes away and became a lifetime founding member. This place is such a tribute to truth!!
Also I noticed they were comparing a 59hp Massey with a 38hp mahindra..for the money the Mahindra is the better buy with longer warranty unless of course you have 10 grand or more to play with..I have a Mahindra and it's heavy enough to get the job done.
I get to use a Mahindra eMax 25 HST at one of my jobs. 1st true tractor for me to drive. I was use to a Craftsman riding lawnmower with the same pedals for speed and direction. So I picked up on it quick. Nice little thing. Had a couple of little problems but just needed adjustments that where done at the 50hr mark. Haven't had any others. We don't use it alot. It's almost a year old in the summer and only has about 89hrs on it.
I have a 2013 Mahindra Max 28 XL Hydro w/Loader and tiller. Been a great machine so far. My only complaint is the diff-lock is temperamental to engage. When you are in high range, the hydro is weak, but in low range it performs very well. The Mitsubishi diesel has been great and the hydro is smooth. All metal fenders and real tractor frame. I move a lot of gravel to maintain my driveway and it performs well. Just note, the emax, to my knowledge are Korean, where the max is Japanese made.
I love my Mahindra 2555 HST cab tractor. I've had it for a year now with 250 hours of hard use with no problems to speak of. TYM builds a solid tractor. Keep in mind there is a more "deluxe" series of Mahindras available, although I forgot the series number. I gotta go mow with my mine now....the grass is growing as we speak.
I love my tym t353 !!!! solid tractor
3550 would be the most premium HST Transmission Mahindra in the smallest possible frame with the most options and weight built in
I love my Mahindra 2816. It was the perfect fit for me. 28 HP, loader, gear drive 3 range 3 speeds per range. Shuttle shift is the only thing that would make it better for me.
That Massy Ferguson sure was nice but a little large.
I am not Brand Loyal, I worked in the equipment rental industry for a long time. Each brand has its benefits and drawbacks. Personally I like the shuttleshift option, then again I come from a backhoe perspective having once owned case 580c. The RK's might be worth a look. Mike's reviews on the 37 series against the Kubota is pretty spot on. Features, usability, dealer support, parts availability and cost are all factors one has to take into consideration. No matter what you pick (insert a name here) remember rule one of owning a tiller. There will always be things you wish you had. Good luck !!
Tim, I had a Kubota 26 hp HST that was bulletproof and sipped fuel. I had it 8 years and replaced it with a 45 hp Kioti open cockpit clutch because I needed more power. It was also super reliable and very efficient. I bought it new for $26k. I currently have a Branson 78 hp shuttle with a cab. Again, I upgraded for more power. It was a great value for $34k. It has been less reliable than any other tractor I’ve owned with warranty work needed for three repairs at under 50 hours. and it’s very loud even with a cab. It came with HVAC and a radio but you can’t hear it so that was a worthless add on. It’s also a fuel hog but it’s loaded with power. I’ve only had it 6 months and have under 100 hours on it. The warranty is 2 years on everything but 6 on the drive train. It has been reliable since those first 3 repairs.
Swear, the older tractors are the way to go. A guy in the navy sold a person in my family a massey ferguson
135. And now it is mine. Thing runs like it straight from the factory. Also a long 2510. Both work great in like the new tractors. People don't take time to produce quality products cause competition chase them to rush and get there products out on the lot first.
I really like my GC1720, I looked at Deere , Kubota, LS and New Holland but the Massey was the best choice for me.
I have gone through the same decisions as Tim. Started with a GC1710 “little red”, based on dollar value, dealer support, performance, reliability, warranty, and overall strength, I added a 1726e as the bigger brother “big red”. I do my own maintenance and continue to be impressed with how they are built as well as the work I get out of them. I had a Deere, 2 actually. Honestly, two things turned me from green to red...price and plastic. JD makes a great tractor for sure, but is charging you for their fame and too many plastic parts, levers, knobs, etc... Happy shopping Tim!
YOU CAN BET THEY ARE. MY HUSBAND HAS HAD MASSEYS FOR YEARS SINCE THE 60s AND STILL HAS HIS 1150 V8 THATS A BEAST SO CHOOSE WISELY AND GO WITH A WINNER GO WITH MASSEY FERGUSON.
Cept these little compact tractors are absolutely nothing like the old 1150!
These are made in China with engine from Japan.
I grew up on Massey Ferguson tractors and dad never had a single problem out of either of them over 30 years. Honestly they're probably the only other brand I will consider buying if not another Deere. Especially with the dpf going away. Great video as always!
I agree. The M-F of yesterday were great tractors but unfortunately about the only thing modern M-F SCUT/CUT tractors have in common with those older tractors is the name and color.
In 2012, I bought a used 2009 Massey Ferguson 1533 with a loader and 8ft woods blade. I bought it from the dealer who had sold it because the owner was going through a divorce and sold it back to the dealer. The tractor only had 142 hours on it and still had the nubs on the tires. The dealer completely serviced it, washed and waxed it. Right now it has 995 hours on it and it has always exceeded my expectations. New, it sold for $24,500, and I bought it for $14, 500. I do everything with it--load lots of shale and dirt, grade and ditch the drive, firewood, pick up logs and load them to take to the saw mill, brush hog, dig out stumps, clear brush, carry hay, tools, etc.
The only thing I don't like is that it came with the bar industrial tires; if you're driving on any thing but dirt, shale or gravel, you're going to spin and have limited steering--on ice, snow or mud, those tires are like slicks. I also hate the "Woods" blade!!! To date, I've spent another $500 having a machine shop modify and repair it; Yesterday, I saw another broken factory weld. "WOODS" is another way to spell 'JUNK!"
I had looked at Mahindra a couple of years before purchasing my Massey, and when I went back to that same dealer, he was selling "LS" tractors. He told me he quit selling Mahindra because the company did not adhere to their warranties, and when they did, payment to him from the company was slow if at all.
Anyway. I love my Massey Ferguson. Both of my brothers-in-law own the exact same tractor and are just as happy with their purchase.
I have heard same on warranty
Owned the mf 1705 never had any problems at all.
Bought the mf 1735 today with the third valve and grapple bucket, love these tractors
That Massey is a good looking tractor. Appreciated the verse at the end of the video keep up the good work
You both look good in the Massey, nice video
We are a Massey dealer in Va and the 1742 is smaller than the 1759. That salesman was not nearly as knowledgeable on the Masseys as he was on the Mahindra. Look into the Massey Ferguson 1742L. I'd be glad to help any way I can if you need information.
Dub2020 û
Okay that's why I go for that old school one the 50 horsepower manual transmission set up you can't go wrong with that Harley any Electronics on it no DPF love it
Thanks for the vids dreaming of a Mahindra tractor
I recently watched a Mahindra review from around 2016, if I recall correctly. The fella doing the review used the tractor for his small business, and he mentioned that this drastically cut his factory warranty. So, maybe something to look into before making a final decision. I'm sure all the brands have less commercial warranty than they do for residential. Either way, great review! I'm anxious to see which way you end up going.
I used a new holland boomer 45 horse for several years and loved it.
It souds like he trying to push the massy, but Mahindra Tractors is an international farm equipment manufacturer of Mahindra & Mahindra. In 2010, Mahindra became the world's highest-selling tractor brand by volume. Mahindra's largest consumer base is in India, China, North America, and a growing market in Australia
If you want to call them tractors
massey is made far better
perkins diesel cant wear one out
That's cool. McDonald's sells the most hamburgers but they aren't good quality. Js
Love my Mahindra 2 years old and zero problems and runs a 5 ft bushhog sometimes 10 hrs a day!
I'm really liking that Massey. You just don't see them where I'm at in Tennessee.
That 4550 is what I am interested in.
Way less electronics. Tough Gear System.
In the low 20's and a 50HP is crazy nice.
Very good video.👌😀👍
Fla-bushcraft Prepper loving my 4540 and would like to have bought the 4550 but there was quite a difference in price. I had dealer add the rear remote at purchase for 1400, at the time they wanted 22 for the 4540 but 28 for the 50. Sure wanted it but happy with what the 40 is so far.
Hearing good things from the Morgans about RK Tractors, even though the stores don’t strike me as a “dealer” with a vast service department.
I know I've had my sub compact for 6 yrs and have had no issues it's done way more than I thought it would. I have multiple attachments one is a 5 ft woods brush hog which I've cut glass 5ft and saplings up to 2in dia. 6to7 ft high. Very under rated tractor. Dollar for dollar great tractor in my opinion
It's a mahindra max 24
Was wondering when you we're going to test drive a Massey Ferguson that's my choice of tractor. I have a dealer 5 miles from my house and they have been there for 30 years
We have Mahindra here in India using from 15 years and feel comfortable . My neighbor having Eicher tractor but now he gotten junkie with rust.
If I was gonna get a tractor.. that last one would be it.
All mechanical. He mentioned it had just the one saftey switch for neutral to start it.
I've heard from some other UA-cam channels that the electronics is where the Mahindra has more issues.
That 50hp basic tractor would eliminate most of that.
Thanks for the review.. cool to see all the different options out there.
couldn't pay me to take that old tractor.
Tractor Time with Tim
Why is that? Seems like less to go wrong.. I've watched your other vids. The Kubota was super nice.. I was only referring to this one video of all the Mahindra tractors.
I guess I like the older mechanical stuff.
I like my Deere. I started with 3032E but found that 3033R was a bit nicer and more hydro options and a nicer seat. I also found when I traded in my 3032E I got a very nice value so it held its value well.
All these tractors impress me
Hi Tim, I went with an LS XR4140 Shuttle Shift. It was between that or Kioti; dealer location and reputation made the difference. My research did come up with comments regarding LS frame stiffness issues when under load with the loader, but those were for the 30 Series. The model LS I bought is the parent of New Holland Boomers, and many love them. I'm not yet at 50hrs so we'll see, but thus far this tractor is a tank. Box blading hard gravel, loader lifting, brush hogging, and grapple work...it hasn't even grunted. Check the LS XR series because they have the added features..two rear remotes, seat upgrade, ESC, tractor mounted joystick in great location, third function capability. It does have DPF but my first regen happened at 20hrs and didn't even notice...just kept working.
Sounds good.
I have the XR4140 cab tractor. My first regin was at 45 hours. I’m at 71 hours now and it hasn’t had a second one yet. I couldn’t be more pleased with my LS tractor.
The Mahindra 4035 HST is one of the baddest tractors ever made in my opinion. I have two of them and they impress me more everyday. They got all the right stuff in all the right places. They were ahead of their time for the tier 3. Very high performers.
And you are happy withe the transmission? My 5035 has to be run at a high rpm to get to get the tractor moving at any decent speed. Wish the pedal all the way down produced more speed at lower rpms is all. Put it up to 2k rpm then it moves fast enough but now the loader is touchy since so much hyraulic fluid is flowing. Just complaining
@@eatmorelobstah I'm happy with the hydro on my 4035 but it is a little underpowered compared to the 5035.
You mentioned loader work with a gear drive tractor. On a kioti the gear stick is on the left fender and 2nd and reverse are the same speed and 2/R are synchronized together so you can go from F 2 R quickly like a shuttleshift but it's not a shuttle.
im excited to see what you end up with! im also excited for when you go to the new holland dealership!
I have a HST transmission, im doing a lot of loader work, grading, boxblade... if I could redo this, I would choose a Hydro shuttle (like on the massey) because HST doesnt have the power, you have 3 speed and you are stuck in it... if you think about it, backhoe and loader all have Shuttle shift (also called powershift... hydro shuttle, etc..). HST is just there for "girls" ;)
Great look at both brands of tractors
I too shopped around just like you with all of the brands before making my first tractor decision. I also researched “all” the UA-cam videos I could and I just couldn’t see myself going with any other brand than I did. I couldn’t be any happier than I am with my Kubotas. Two years ago I bought my first one and have since bought five more. Sure Hope to see you do the same and I don’t think you will be disappointed. Can’t wait to see your final decision.
I’m sure lots of folks will be disappointed. We can’t buy’em all!
I’ve got a Mahindra 3616HST and a Mpower 85P. I use my 3616 almost every day with my company. They have both been flawless and completely reliable for me. The 3616 is climbing up in hours! The 3616 is actually built by Mitsubishi for Mahindra and the 85P is Mahindra’s own machine.
Massys are one of the cadillacs of tractors. Most agco tractors are equipped well.
Tim Christy shopping is great keep me poster we enjoy you two with conversation
God Bless
PaK
After running heavy equipment for years of different types brands. Shuttle shift is a must in my book. The 1025r I bought don't have it I'm lost every time I use it. I'm always on the wrong peddle
I have a 1635 and it’s fantastic. I work it hard and push over some pretty big trees with it and for stump removal.
Thank you for sharing. I did like the last tractor, because that is what I grew up on, manual transmission. Man, the prices for tractors is enough to make a person go "Ouch". Anyways, again thanks for sharing, and God Bless from Phoenix. Enjoy your channel very much.
The Ark Encounter shirt? Love it. Good stuff sir.
Yep! Thanks!
Best thing about Mahindra's is its super easy to repair or replace anything unlike expensive brands like John Deere where you have to haul the darn thing to dealership to get a minor issue fixed and pay a hefty repair cost.
Thanks for the PSA
Tim is just so damn likable.
Keep shopping and demo a few of them, you want to have a good relationship with the dealership vice versa, hard to come by up here in Canada
Mighty Moe Excavating Not hard to find good dealers here in Canada with good products and support at all, maybe it’s just where you live.
I really enjoy Tim. You are very helpful Tim. It would be nice if videos simply had you speaking. No tangents with just you speaking. Thank you Tim.
Thank you
I have a 1736 premium works great , go Massey
I have the Kubota L2501 but I have sure been impressed with the RK units that are on Out Door with the Morgans on UA-cam
skroggy66 same. Wish we had an RK dealer closer
Very nice dealer visit today! I've heard very good things about TYM's but some spotty reports about tractors built in India- (electronics an issue) On the same note I love a company that offers a long warranty and stands behind their equipment. As for MF lots of good reports on those... I also like the KISS rule for tractors, too much electronics, solenoids, or accessories leads to problems in the long run! Thanks again!
Here in Montana a cab is pretty nice to have. :) I did do some work in Indiana back in 2003, I was operations manager at the Newport Chemical Weapons Depot. I lived in Rockville.
I like how you made a point to mention the TYM vs Mahindra built tractors. I work for a Mahindra dealer, and I will quickly tell you there IS a huge difference in quality. TYM just feels cheap to me. I feel if Mahindra would come out with a hydrostatic, or even power shuttle version of the 4500 series, they would sell quick!
If you're looking for a small frame w/ more HP, the Mahindra 1635 should be hitting the showrooms soon. The 1500/1600 series is the Mitsubishi built 'premium' line from Mahindra, and the new 1635 is a 35hp built on the frame of the current 1526. I was waiting to see this model, but decided on the Kioti CK3510SE. There's also a 1640 which would be on a slightly larger frame, similar to the current 1538.
Edit - Oh, and you will need a bigger truck, and maybe trailer...
Colonoscopy, it's all behind you now! Last time I had it done the Dr turned out to be an ex high school football player I coached. He couldn't wait to see me. He said: " Hey coach remember when you kicked my butt on the field? It's my turn now"! The lifting arm pistons on the Mahindra looked to me on the skinny side.
Another nice video I like the working mans tractor.....
Interesting that the Mahindra doesn’t have a dpf. From the look of things it employs egr though. I’m really enjoying this series of videos!
Messicks did a video walk through of one, and Neil gave the best description I've heard for how the emissions system works. They run hot all the time and use a lot of egr.
Bias?
Neil is definitely a Kubota dealer, but he does give credit where credit is due. I was speaking more to his description of the mechanics of the system, not his opinion of it. Mahindra's ads don't say much about that, and neither do any of the owner made vids I've seen- that's why it stuck in my mind. Personally, Johnnys are what I know as I'm from an ag background, and that's what's by far most common around me, lol. (likely due to the very large dealer network in my part of the state- 4 within an hour of my house.) In your size, Kubota is the other big name.
I like the little Massey’s, DLF farms just got one and loves his. Agco‘ should got some decent incentives and if you say your leaning toward John Deere they may go lower in price. Agco is really outdoing the comp price wise.
If you like that 2638, it’s made by TYM and is equivalent to the T394, though it has a different engine (which I find much quieter). TYM often has better pricing, and if you have Rural King in Indiana, you can get that same tractor from them, called the RK37, for $21.9k with the hydrostatic. The dealer matters, obviously, but it might save you some money going either of those other two routes.
Had the 4550 and traded up to the 3550 pst and love it!
Thank you Mike
I bought a Kubota L3800 a few years back, the L3901 would be the modern equivalent, and I love it! I'd definitely recommend a Kubota when I comes to compact tractors. Mainly because Kubota was all about smaller compact tractors from the get go.
Now that being said I do think Massey Ferguson makes a very good tractor. If I had the opportunity to get a Massey I probably would have got one, but my local Massey dealer doesn't carry Massey in the 30-45 hp often. Also I got a sweet deal on my Kubota. I don't think you could go wrong with a Massey.
I do not like Mahindras at all. Mainly because their marketing seems very wormy and sketchy. Not to much they have a bad reputation when it comes to customer service. There are other things I don't like about them, but those are the main two.
Just my opinion. Good luck with your tractor search!
I love my 4550, however coming from the factory the exhaust blows directly on the hydraulic hoses. After smoking the sleeve protector I realized I just had to reroute the hoses to the outside of the frame on front end loader.
If i had pick a tractor that wasn`t Kubota. It would be a massey. Their cab is very plushand the engine runs very quietly even under load.
I was out test driving a new kubota L 4060 wich nice and roomy wich where gonna be getting hopefuly for next winter for sidewalks
Colon-Op! Been there done that more than once. Just did a prostrate cancer biopsy. Is that dealer to far away? I just tilled a garden and tilled mine to plant grass. No more garden at my age. Isn't there a dealer East of Westfield? Taking your time is a very very good idea. Your going to live with it for awhile.
This Massey/Mahindra dealer (in Martinsville) invited us to visit. We appreciate the personal invitation, so we took them up on it.
I have an older JD 4510-and I have to honestly say, I really like the Masseys. The biggest plus for me is the fact that it's made of sheet metal instead of plastic. After replacing the hood and one side panel on my JD due to becoming brittle to the point of breaking over time-I will never again buy a plastic tractor. JD is NOT what it once was. JD, Kubota, Case...you'd better wake up and get away from plastic!
I understand. However, sheet metal has its downside too. It is dented very easily, and costly to replace.
Even though you had to replace the plastic, I’m sure it wasn’t crazy expensive.
OK I purchased it new in Jan 2005. The hood replacement w/decals was over $300 (about 7 years ago), the side panel was about $140 about 2 years ago. Not exactly cheap by my standards. And even if they don't break, they tend to warp a bit over time-thus uneven seams. Just looks bad. Oh and FYI, my tractor stays out of the sun while not in use. Don't get me wrong...I love my 4510-great little tractor if not for the plastic. As far as metal being expensive to replace when dented...you don't actually NEED to replace it right away. When plastic wants to fall off...that's a different story.
Good points!
Are you guys gonna look at new holland?
I don't recall seeing you driving a larger tractor in your current videos so don't know if you got one, but wow 38K. You can get a TYM 40-50HP hydro, with lots of the finer features for closer to 25K. Probably a few 1000 more with the cab.
Mahindra Max 25. Flawless 7 years and still going.
A friend of a friend worked as a service tech at a mainstay dealership, he said mechanically they are solid machines but the electronics are a nightmare and are problematic.
Years ago my friend sold me his Polaris 500 sportsman had the best suspension , engine, transmission, electronics were constant problems couldn’t afford parts only450 miles
I own a kubota l3400 and it is a great tractor. Go with kubota or John deere
needed a few things you missed ie removal & install of the loader, what attachments available? backhoe install & removal on Mahindra is simple & fast how is it for massey? Steel fenders & hood on Massey? JD has gone el cheapo
Come on Tim when do we get to see Johnny’s brothers!!
Patience!
the last one was the best ,,, own one 2008 kicks ass ,,, machine
Have you narrowed it down yet? Make, model, cab, no cab. Are you any closer in deciding?
I'm buying my 3rd Mahindra and love them. Never had a problem and they are great. The buyer in this video knows nothing about tractors.
Welcome to our channel. Check out our 400 other videos. Maybe you can inform me about tractors.
Massey is vastly underrated. They make a great tractor. It was between them and JD for me.
...but they (Agco) don’t make these small tractors.
