UPD: IMPORTANT NOTE! Miku didn't fight her mother, but her great-grandmother Yae. I got confused since she called the ghost "mom", although the description of the ghost says that her name is Yae. I'll correct myself in a future video. Thank you for your patience, guys! Hope you'll like it. Subtitles will be asap. If you have anything to add, feel free to share your knowledge :)
@@GrandGamingChannel Of course! I enjoyed EVERY single video you make, and I still rewatch them. And I support my favorite UA-camrs by watching the adds as well (no skip). Looking forward to this series and whichever Survival Horror title you cover in the future. Fatal Frame brings back memories... ✌🙂
Fatal Frame is probably one of the few games that gave me legit goosebumps while playing and that eerie sense of "I shouldn't be playing this or I'll get cursed." Thanks for the deep dive. Always enjoy your exploration videos. One thing I always wondered, and you touched upon it a bit, if the "normal" ending, I wonder if the entire reincarnation angle is used and is the reason why he chose to stay with her instead of escaping with his sister? Granted it's not the "good ending" but it kinda makes sense if you take that into account. Fatal Frame always seems to draw deeply upon Japanese culture, religion and folklore it always stuck in the back of my mind as his reasoning.
Yeah, I agree that if you take into account all that reincarnation thing it starts to make sense...but still, if you are not prepared or not familiar with Buddhism it may look a bit unnatural.
@@GrandGamingChannel I completely agree. And I'm happy you brought it up at the beginning. I've run into several content creators in recent years that are attempting to deep dive into older games like this and they completely miss the Buddhist aspect of the culture when examining the source material. While it may not be directly related to the overall plot, the elements of reincarnation definitely lend weight to speculative theory that perhaps that's what they were intending. Looking forward to the next entry in the series. Keep up to fine work!
Really happy to see you back in YT. Thanks for the effort with these and your other videos. Hope you can continue sharing your work here. Would love to see other series as Rule of Rose, Haunting Ground and Clock Tower. Again, thanks dude!
I've been replaying this series over on my twitch, I think I'm going to just re direct everyone who's never seen it but would like a nice little history / background info on this series to this video and the next ones! One of the best horror game series that I still love to play til this day!
It doesn't matter to me how long you take for a vid. I am following you since mids your MGS Retrospectivs and i like your Videos. Always happy to see when you upload!
Another great video, man i hope youtube would promote this kind of content more rather than just random of the mill videos that is promoted just because the channel has a consistent upload schedule. I mean a simple look would clearly establish the value of those video compared to one from this channel or other like this one. Sadly youtube cares far more about money than quality content. Goodluck to you man, i hope one day this channel got the attention it deserves, in the meantime i will stay and watch all the quality content you've put forth.
I only knew about this series cause my dad had the first one on the PS2 and now I have it in my collection. I never finished it but got close but I loved the first one and the second one. I loved how it was just a camera you had to fight the ghost and I've always loved Japanese culture so I was drawn to it. Great video👍🏻
This was a informative video. Great job showing footage of the things you where talking about, that was very helpful. I'm looking forward to the next video.
Love your uploads! This game is the shit, so awesome and worth a play for anyone that loves (Japanese)Horror, survival with hints of camera-battle action and Mysterious Drama unfolding...!!!
@@GrandGamingChannel Yes I saw it was available ; will watch this very soon for sure! And, for the third part, that's an excellent news ; waiting for this! Thanks again for sharing you work with us!
After the disappointing announcement of fatal frame pachinko. It’s nice to see another video from a youtuber talking about this series and giving it some level of respect. (This was a great video btw.) Anyways, all that aside, it would be great if Koei tecmo were to just remaster the FF/PZ trilogy of games to current platforms...I mean, look remasters & remake have been a ongoing trend these past few years.
Abaolutely love this. Project Zero is one series that has stayed with me for years and man this first game is HARD. Probably hardest from all of the trilogy (Haven't played the ones after them) I am now somewhat dumbfounded how I never tried the battle mode, but since tha game itself is such a workload mentally so I alway just completed the story. Maybe I should try the battle mode and collect more helpful lenses, I got pretty far in the FATAL mode back in the day...
@@GrandGamingChannel Love all your silent hill series. Hope you make more others like Bendy. Little Nightmare , Corpse party and other Suspense horror genre games
I heard FF's creators just embellished the dangerous rituals to have some creative fun like the Binding Ritual. What happened to Miko and Mafuyu's grandma after she fled the Himura Mansion thanks to Kirie's child self.
GREAT video. it really feels like you are back after the silent hill series. psychological and mystery horror suits you the best. i didnt like your metal gear and resident evil videos. not that the revies were bad, it just doesnt suit your voice and your editing. ever thought about going a bit retro for one of your next reviews? something like "sweet home" for NES? its really scary. or maybe a "bit" newer with "clock tower 1" for snes maybe? keep up your work, its great.
Rule of rose is extremely...unique, I would say :) I cannot say I truly enjoyed it, but I saw a possible depth and story the creators wanted to show me.
To make the game scare me more, I played in the dark and before a scene happens I would put the controller down my back so I would feel the vibration of the ghosts. No other game scared me like this one till Resident Evil 7 came along. Although Fatal Frame takes the cake. Good times.
Man, I miss games 🎮 like this! ^_^ When you got rewards for beating it multiple times in multiple ways! New Costumes, New Modes, New Difficulties, New Functions... NO GDMF DLC in sight! (Note: GDMF is a series of swears.)
It's better to understand the difference if you look at their kanjis. Onryo(u) consists of kanjis: resent/be disgusted and spirit. Yu(u)rei consists of kanjis: dim/blurry and spirit. All in all, it's pretty fair to call all Japanese ghosts Yurei. And Onryo is kind of subspecies of Yurei. If a soul died in a violent manner with strong emotions and was not not laid to rest in a proper manner (happened a lot in this game), there are high chances this soul turn into Onryo.
I was planning to that about...a year ago, lol. But, life happened. Really hope to come back to it and some day I will, but without any specific dates.
Haha...You're not the only one who cannot finished Fatal Frame 3, brought the game and just stop at inner castle. i really hate jumpscare when the ghost appear trough wall
I'm glad you pointed it out. You're right. I'll correct myself in the following video. She called the ghost "mom" twice, so, I got a little confused, although the description of the ghost says that it's Yae.
@@GrandGamingChannel just in case you didn't know yae it's the same yae from crimson butterfly, his husband was the one who rescue her after escaping the village, but she didn't remember anything then she married him, lost his daughter, kill her self and his spirit divide in to 2 the older version and the lost village younger one
