Guys, I'm terribly sorry, but I made a mistake. Fatal Frame 2 is a sequel of the first part, not a prequel. Yes the story of Sae and Yae happened several decades ago, but the story of Mio and Mayu happened AFTER the events of the first game. It doesn't really change anything else, but I think you should know. I'll also correct myself in the following video about the series. Peace ✌🏼
Amazing video! I recently undubbed Fatal Frame 1 and 2 on PS2 and I wanted to say that over 30 voice clips were missing in the localization of FF2 of the 2 sisters talking and commenting about the story, the environment and more. While for some it might not seem like a lot, it makes the ending hit much harder because the player feels a lot more attached to the sister. The undub fully restores that! Plus me and my team also introduced English subtitles, Japanese audio and the original 3D models into FF1. I can share further information if you wish to give it a try!
This was the most beautiful horror game ever created. I was so moved by the plot, I remember to finish it so many times. The End Song Chou was also so incredible. I wanted to listen the song one more time, so i had to replay it as fast as possible ^^ oh yea, that was long before the Internet and youTube^^ this game had the perfect balance of semi open world and interior areas. meanwhile the 1st and 3rd was played mostly just inside a giant house.
If game elaboration and explanation is an official academic course in real life, I think you will have PhD with best student award. Such details.... It's awesome! I really enjoy your videos. Especially Silent Hill series. I play these horror game when I was in highschool. Since English is not my first language, sometimes I miss the details in the games. When I watch your videos, I feel like now I understand why the storyline goes like this, the meaning of the notes or hints, or detail of each special items. Thanks for bringing back the memories of Silent Hill and Fatal Frame to me.
I always loved fatal frame so far you went into great detail on the game and gameplay when others didnt thank you so much loved your video i gave it a thumbs up for sure
im so happy since im feeling nostalgic with this game series and theres a really nice review AND story explanations..! can't wait if you do any more of the next series such as 3, the infamous 4th or the newly ported 5th! good job and well done!!
Very nice retrospective video as usual mate. I di dn't realize this took place before FF1 which is cool to learn. This and FF1 are my 2 favorites in the series. 3 wa sok, and I'm unable to play 4 and 5, but from what I've seen they still can't top the first 2.
Thank you! Yeah, considering that FF4 was exclusive for Japan it's may be hard to play it... 😶 What a wonderful idea to make such a beloved series not even exclusive to one console, but to one REGION...
Love your videos! Been a fan for years!! Hoping to see a continuation of this series and more resident evil as well! Your take on these things and your extensive research into each series is super inspirational!
PZ 2 is the best in the serie…… an amazing game… I love it as I love Silent Hill 2… The most terrific game I ever played. Such good memories to play it at night, in the dark. Ooooh so goood…. 😁
Well, I played the PS2 verison using an emulator. The emulation is not perfect, but it's really good! You can try it out too if you want to 👍🏼 At least we'll see ports of the 5th part this year!
iirc, the ending where you save mayu on ps2, not only you have to play it on hard mode, you also required to pay a visit to one of a shrine (can't remember which) before going after mayu. Because the first time I play on hard mode I still got the crimson butterfly ending and thought difficulty is irrelevant to the ending you get. But then again, that time I was playing on JP version so I'm not really sure what happened because I couldn't read a single thing. lol
@@GrandGamingChannel I enjoyed it, since I’m not a fan of horror games (though I can play such games sometimes) and I don’t think I had heard about Fatal Frame franchise before. But I’m glad to realize that thanks to you I know not only about the fact that the game is great and it’s widely recognizable, but now I’m as interested in the twins topic as I was while playing Devil may cry 3 many years ago. Thank you very much for such an informative video, looking forward to seeing new ones)
Very good video. I was just a little disapointed when my favorite anime twins didn't make the list. When you started listing anime and mange twins I hoped you would mention Jasdero and Devit from D-Gray.Man. They're from the Noah family and represent the notion of "bound", it's even unclear if they were born as two or as one who split when their powers appeared (there's a hint toward the later in their song). They can fuse into a single being, often use a joint name that designate them both, Jasdevi, and their power is to be able to make real anything they both imagine at the same time. I thought they'd fit quite well there.
I love Fatal Frame 2. I love them all. My only question is, in the Wii version, why are they British?! I know it's not fair, but, it's so jarring and immersion breaking for me...
Some minor errors: 1 FF is before this game in the current time (Miku is way older in ff3 and Mio is like a year older) and even in the ghost time (Kyrie kill everyone in the Himuro Mansion and after a long time Munakata after he married Yae went live on Himuro mansion.) 2 Not a error more like a fact the capture circle had the symbols of the Japanese Zodiac, and the lens are decorated with symbols representing the 13 Buddhas funeral rites.
1. Is it? I've checked multiple sorces and they claim that FF2 happened before FF. Even considering that a part of Yae's soul remained in the Lost Village. 2. I know about it, just like the charging line in FF1, I just decided to omit this fact for some reason...I'm not really good at Buddhism, I'm studying it, so I wasn't sure what they meant.
@@GrandGamingChannel in the 3rd game mio is 15, miku was 20-21 and in the first she was 18 cus rei was 3 years older, if the old gods was before it would create a continuity error with the diaries of kunihiko asou about the folklore investigations were it talks about the massacre of the himuro and the marriage spirit one as the oldest ones, munakata bought the house after being abandoned for a long time
Im talking about the ps2 ones cus as you said the wii ones change the lore to adapt the story (sorryif the comments came weird written, in not good at writing in phones cus i had big thumbs sorry)
While FF2 was an improvement I think FF1 has better ghost, difficulty and "áudio logs" I hope you cover the rest of the games and play FF5 on october. underrated channel !
I love how the second game started expanding the number of tools to communicate with the other world. Like a Spirit stone flashlight in FFIV. But yeah, I agree, stylistically the radio looks a bit odd :) I plan to cover all games, the only major problem will probably be Fatal Frame 4, but I hope I'll deal with it.
How is this game a prequel to the first one? In FF3 Miku is several years older than in FF1, and they say Mio and Mayu disappeared in the woods a couple of month ago. How does that add up?
