I watched the other guys and your videos really are better.
Appreciate it :D we're trying to make each video better than the last.
Fantastic and detailed video. I'm not a kitchenaid pro, but attempted to fix mine with the help of this video, and I managed to do it, while also learning a few things about the inner workings of my machine along the way. Don't let the 45 min length scare you off. You likely need that long (if not longer; it took me about 2 hours because I couldn't get a piece off) to fix your machine. If you're just a little handy, or even if you're just inclined towards arts and crafts, you can do this with the help of this video.
Which piece took you 2 hours to remove??
I've had my ProSeries6 for almost 20 years and it still purrs. Now I can do my maintenance myself!!! Thank you!
You're so incredibly welcome!
I just replaced the worm gear follower that I purchased from you. 100% would recommend. Took me about 30 ish minutes and it was easy following along with your video ( I used a boatload of grease) Thank you for saving me money by not having to pay 60 dollars just to send my mixer to Kitchenaid. Now I can use it for holiday baking. I appreciate your help!
So glad to help! Be careful with too much grease I didn't mention it in the video, if you hear a weird knocking noise, take some grease out =)
Saw your video a little too late. Just tossed away and bought a new one. Dam. Could have saved 500 bucks
Sorry =(
You ended up on my FYP! Thanks for showing us how to work on our mixers! :)
You're so very welcome Im working hard to get feature length stuff out!
I'm here after watching 'Art Insider' video about what you do.
P.S., Nice mug!
What a pleasure to have you here!
Never would have guessed that the Mandalorian have a secret identity as a stand mixer repair man.
Love your tik toks thank you for your help
Always! Thanks for being here!! So excited!
Glad I saw you on Tiktok
we are too!
Thank you!
You are so incredibly welcome, Thank you for being here!
Weldon brother God bless ❤
Thanks for this. My planetary separated from the shaft. Is it possible to press them back together so that they will stay (without buying a whole new planetary?)... perhaps with a bench vice or something?
It is possible unless the teeth on them are too damaged, but the metal is so thin on the planetary I'm scared you'll bend it then it will rub/cause other unforseen issues. I have a press we will give it a shot here soon
Saw your troubleshooting on FB, and had to click the link and subscribe. You make such a frightening challenge look eminently doable!
Is there any way to tell you need to regrease other than the goo dripping from the top? Is is something to be concerned about if it isn't leaking?
Looking forward to more of your vids!
That's the plan I want to empower people to do their own repairs, it's very intimidating but Ive literally put thousands of hours into this and mastered the craft, I kniw every issue and every snag when trying to disassemble/reassemble, if the channel can garner enough support we will do live video conference to help as well!
Also yes they should be regrease every 1-2 years, grease starts to separate after the year mark and by 2 its ready to change, plus it's good to get in and tighten everything to keep it in tip top!
Lots of good information, need to FOCUS better.
yes i will be deleting this particular video to refilm this was quickly put together for a specific person and i rushed it, waay better quality in the very near future!
also the quality gets way better after a few minutes when i switched to my go pro =)
@@MrMixer316 Unless you repeat ALL the handy little tips as you go along like you did in this one, PLEASE don't delete it. Just add the refilm, and clearly title it as such. Or, make not of every tid bit. Focus aside, part of the 'charm,' of this vid, is the "improv," of your delivery.
The audio on your Go Pro is a bit too high and bass-y. You might want to invest in Adobe Elements Premiere to edit your vids. It's a big step up from YT's editor.
Also consider adding time stamps to your vid description, it will be immeasurably helpful since this IS a long and kinda intense video...
@@mozempire5096 thank you so incredibly much for the tips, I actually use lightworks to edit, I would like to get some better equipment for video, and probably a better computer I'm using a 350$ laptop, not ideal!unfortunately all of that stuff is out of my budget for the time being, if I refilm i will definitely keep the all of the nitty gritty details and snags that arise during disassembly, I will be sure to add some stamps, I have very limited editing and video experience so bear with me, they will improve greatly as we move forward and I get more comfortable with the process!!
What is the best model made today? I have a new Artisan under the tree and wonder if I should exchange it for a Pro?
I love your tiktok! You helped me fix my classic plus! Quick question: If I was to pick between a pro 5 plus and a pro 600, which would you recommend? Power and longevity wise? ❤️
They are very similar to be honest you could probably get the pro 5 plus cheaper if you didn't need the capacity
@@MrMixer316 thank you so much!!!
@@ChelseaJohnson85562 you're Incredibly welcome!
Professional 5 plus or professional HD, which would you recommend? Both 5QT
Fantastic videos. I just placed an order for your grease. I wanted to use the above Amazon links, assuming you might get a commission or something, but none of them work, and I just end up at an Amazon home page.
thank you so much craig, i remember filling your order! yea we are making updates to our past videos that were pre website!
Which one is the best, professional 600, professional 5 plus or professional HD?
What is the best for bread and cookies and cakes?
Hi Mr. Mixer. I have the Pro 600 that I bought brand new in January, 2016. It was in it's original box and packing which I didn't open until last month. I kept it stored in a closet all that time and unfortunately, sometimes on it's side. When I started to make a cheesecake, the noise was horrendous. My hubby and I took it apart and only got as far as removing the worm gear. We then re-distributed the grease and put it back together. It still is very, very noisy. In your opinion, what could it be?
They are naturally loud in tone, but if you hear grinding or knocking that would be an issue, you can send a video if you like
@@MrMixer316 Will do! Then... How can I repay you?
@@MrMixer316 Actually it sounds much better now. But, I'd like to be sure so I don't destroy it. Is this noise the norm? ua-cam.com/video/_lGGuhJk9JI/v-deo.html
When I use my grinder, I get black grease in my meat. What is the problem. It has done this from the 1st time I used my grinder.
Thank you, I am just needing to give mine a good clean due to trading with daughter (hers is now wrong color for her new apartment 🤣) What are the differences between a Professional HD & Professional 5 Plus other then age?
The professional HD has a different bowl and attachments, otherwise nearly identical. The bowl and attachments for the pro HD are the same bowl and attachments used on the K5SS machines and the pro 5 plus uses a wider bowl and the same attachments as the pro 600
@@MrMixer316 Thanks for the info. I got a HD with a broken gearbox for free and have been trying to figure out what attachemnts if I can fix it.
I saw you on tic tak I saw the how to fix 6qt pros lift up it hit bottom bold
Thank you for being a patron of both accounts! You are appreciated!
Which would you prefer - Professional 5 Plus vs Professional HD
They are virtually the same machine!
Wish you could have switch it on before and after applying new greasing. 😅 just wanna see the difference
ill do some comparisons, im just getting this page up and going for you guys, we are going to do some really cool stuff!
Is it possible to add too much grease?
Yes it should be jsit enough to healthily coat all the gears with a base layer around the housing!
@@MrMixer316 Thank you, sir! I loved this video and I can't wait to watch more.
@@clemti4411 so excited to get some content out, I'm trying to get funded a bit, I basically have to spend about 2500$ to get all the essentials to make sure this is all extreme quality, I'm actually going to delete this and refilm as it is not an acceptable quality for what I want to provide you all with!
I have a mixer WT1146258 that the scrow that attaches the top to the bass has striped is there a repair for that?
@@jenfinlay4983 while I'm certain we can fix it, I'm not 100% sure which part you're referring to?
A really nice instructive video however, you really need to learn how to make your camera focus on closeups and not the background. From a viewer's standpoint that is very annoying. But it is obvious you really know your stuff.
This was one of the first videos I did, I feel the quality has improved overall, but we are still on shoe string budget, I film with a phone camera 😅
