Hi @AlexisHeath, There are a number of reasons why your mixer might not be turning on. #1. outlet might not be functioning. To rule this out, try an outlet that you know to be good. (or try some other known good electrical product in the same outlet). #2. There's a short in the cable between the outlet (unplug it before checking this). You can use a continuity tester to verify there isn't a short in the negative or the positive cables (from the plug to where it connects to on the negative and positive connections on the board the the electrical motor). This can shock you so if you don't feel confident, you might want to consult someone that knows how to do this. #3. The board might be fried. Look for scorch marks on the board. If you spot on, this is a bigger problem. #4. Repeat step #2 for the electrical motor (make sure the electrical motor doesn't have a short). #5. make sure the electrical board is properly seated in slot in the mixer. I hope this helps.
@@randysh1543 There is also a thermal fuse on some models. You overheat it and the fuse burns breaking the circuit. I'd bet that is your problem. I've seen a video somewhere about that and I need to find it to fix mine. Good luck.
Great video! Just inherited this mixer that’s sat still for over 10 years. Now I know what to do!
Glad I could help! Let me know if you succeed in fixing it.
@@randysh1543 oh it’s purring like a kitten now!
Thanks for your contribution to civilisation. I'm gonna give this a try.
Thanks James, I just noticed this comment. Let me know how your repair went.
I got it all fine now!@@randysh1543
