Before embarking on the grease replacement project, I watched many youtube videos. These videos from Mr. Mixer are by far the best I found.
I followed them step-by-step and the all event was painless.
    Thanks.

You just saved me $500. My mixer (20 yrs old) quit working. I was ready to throw it out and buy a new one. I saw your videos, so my husband and I took a chance to repair ourselves. The gear worm was destroyed!! We replaced it, cleaned out old grease and applied new grease. Now it works perfectly. Your instructions were clear and concise, right down to if parts potentially did not go back together easily. Thank you

I wanted to say a HUGE THANK YOU for a very detailed and informative series! As you can see, I made it to Part 3, I didn't have any spare parts left in the end, which is always a good thing, and I hope to get another 10 years out of my KA mixer. For $10 can of grease and a couple of hrs of invested time, I feel it was an afternoon well spent.

slide in…hopefully my hubby can help get it back in without jacking up the gear. Love this video…I almost was able to do the whole job myself 😅
Update: I got it done & with the everdime installed, regrease & gear change, she is running better than like new! Thank you so much for this 3 part series Mr. Mixer! Because of you I was able to restore my late Mema’s kitchenaid & it will be in my family for years to come ❤️

Thank you soooo much for those 3 videos which make me feel a bit like a real handywoman! One of the gears came out of its housing, so my robot wasn't working anymore, but I ofc didn't know what was the problem before seeing it, meaning that I had to open it to find out what was going wrong... then I saw this black grease, as my KitchenAid is already 15 years old, and I decided, as anyway it was already dismantle, to replace it with a brand new grease... so I followed all your steps, also changed another gear - the plastic one - which was a bit worn and, miracle, it's working again, like a brand new one!

Awesome set of videos! We were getting some oil dripping on our 24 year old mixer (never been serviced). I watched your videos and was able to get everything done. My only adventure was putting the planetary back on the vertical shaft would go into the unit too far and I was unable to align the pin. I finally got a paper clip in and pulled the shaft down until I could get a small punch in to pry it downward until I could get the pin in. Of course I messed up the speed control but I followed you other video to get it back in line. You are great!

I love your detailed description on how to fix this. You don’t assume everybody has a fix-it mind. I think the only thing I would add is something my father taught me. When, taking something apart, lay it down in the order you took it off. That way, you only reverse your order for reassembly. That helped me a lot as a child learning to keep my bicycle clean and greased.

The Mr. Mixer videos are the best. So far I have done maintenance on my wife's 20 year old tilt up and on a Pro 5 we bought at a second hand store for our daughter in-law. Total cost on the Pro 5 was $125 for mixer grease and parts. Not bad for a $500 mixer. The Mr. Mixer videos provide everything you need to know and parts and tools are available at a resonable cost on his website. Thank you!

Thank you so much for helping me fix my mixer! Your instructions were easy to follow & you kept it lighthearted too. I bought my mixer 2 years ago but not able to use it until now & when it wouldn’t turn I was perplexed since It was brand “new” but no longer under warranty. I thought the gears were possibly stuck from lack of use so thought I’d try fixing it myself before spending more $$ to replace it. For never being used it sure had a lot of gross grease piled in it. I didn’t realize until this last step that I needed food grade grease (thanks to Amazon I got some the next day). Following your step by step instructions and with the right tools it now works like a charm. Thanks again!

Thank you for the great step by step instructions! The worm gear on mine wasn’t the problem… the worm gear pin had fallen out and bent. Had to replace the whole worm gear housing. My mixer now works! Thank you!

Thanks for this amazing tutorial, it helped me a lot to re-grease a mixer that was given to me because it was leaking and making cracking noises. After getting the parts I needed from your store I was able to put it back together and now is working like new!!!

My KSM90 has 2 washers on the top side of the planetary shaft. Double checked on the parts diagram. Great information you provide. Thank you.

You are correct! It does have two washers, not entirely sure why.

Great video! Never re-greased our mixer before, it was starting to give off an odour while it was running so I figured it was time... I found a few wishy washy videos of other people doing it and then I found yours and thought 'Hey, this guy looks like he actually knows what he's talking about'! They were entertaining to watch and walked through the entire process and gave some helpful advice along the way. I found a broken tooth on the worm gear so I replaced that while I had it all apart.
All in all it went pretty smooth, I should have made a video of me re-greasing it while watching your video. LOL

Your videos, along with your regrease kit, were exactly what I needed to get my stand mixer back up to snuff. Thank you! 've had only two challenges: the first pin removal took *hours*. It was unbelievably stubborn! In addition to the mallet and two hammers, I wound up using WD-40. Eventually it came loose. The second challenge is getting the grease ring back on. When I tap on one side, the opposite pops off. I'll get it done eventually, but find it amusing that the first (and easiest) step has been my final frustration! :)

Thank you for this excellent tutorial!
In addition to grease and gasket, I bought a worm gear to install since my Classic was purchased in 1994, I would ready. To my surprise, I found a metal gear with no wear! It's a keeper!
I never had thoughts of changing the grease, but recently I used a hub attachment for the first time ever and started making bread, and my machine was struggling a little. One of the reasons could be that I was not paying attention to speed with the dough hook(speed 2 only!) or the meat grinder attachment. Ergo...another plus for reading directions!

OH MY GOSH!!!!!! I'm so lucky to have found your UA-cam from the "Now!" video that featured for your TikTok! My KitchenAid has been in a storage unit for over 10 years and grease is leaking everywhere. I thought I was going to have to give it up but your set of 3 videos make me feel like I can tackle this and try to revive it. I'll definitely be by your site for supplies and appreciate the work you've done!

Great step by step videos. Mine is 20 years old and one day it dawned on me this thing probably needs greased. Other than having troubles with that pin coming out, all went well. I feel like I have a brand new oiled machine. Thanks Mr. Mixer!

Thank you again Mr Mixer, my Kitchenaid was making a grinding noise, so I have opened it up, cleaned it out and found a worn worm gear!! Ordered a new one to fit before I put it all back together! Excellent video, although my 20 year old mixer has a different wiring so the top of the mixer was still attached by 2 wires to the base , which made it a bit tricky to clean, but I managed! Thanks again, from the old country .

This is one of the absolute best instructional videos I've seen on UA-cam and I've watched a LOT! I did regrease my mixer about 10 years ago and it's definitely time. After watching this video i know I'll do a better job too! Excellent info and instructions. I'm definitely going to order the regrease kit from you!

Thank you, Mr. Mixer. I wanted a Kitchenaid Artisan Mixer for Christmas and couldn't find one because the plant was shut down for COVID. So I got a used one. It was leaking grease all over. I did not know these mixers needed maintenance. So glad I found you. I watched your videos and you convinced me I could do it. So I ordered some grease from you and I can now say I did it. Husband had to help get the pin out. I was afraid I would hurt it. But, It's greased and I'm so glad.

Thank you for these step by step videos. I figured the worst that would happen is loading all the parts into a box and taking my mixer to a repair shop. I just finished regreasing my classic 4.5 KitchenAid and it works!!!! It doesn't tilt but I was able to figure out the additional screws that needed to be removed in order to get to the gears after following your directions to that point. There aren't any videos for that model on UA-cam. Happy Holidays to you!
