- With Sigma being added into the game just in time for the Overwatch League playoffs, a new meta has arisen centered around the combination of Sigma and Doomfist. It’s been seeing a huge spike in popularity and with some pretty good success, but how exactly does it work?

Sombra will be queen of the meta because sombra can hack sigma getting rid of 1 less barrier. Reaper sombra will be crazy strong

Akshon Esports yes. I don’t think the “Best Defense” nerf is too bad, but the charge time increase is gonna hurt bad
Nah he won't be completely useless just not op, which to be honest is the ideal situation. No comp or hero is going to fun after its played a million times over and over again. I think Blizzard is trying to create an environment where switches are encouraged and a diversity of comps is the mainstay. Like the Roadhog buff will make him viable again, as will the Winston, Dva and Tracer buffs. And even for Orisa and Sigma, they won't be completely trash, they will just be usable in certain situations instead of all the time, which is great.
Even if he is not meta he is still the most annoying, infuriating, unfun and cancerous hero in the entire game
He needs a rework, his design is suicide inducing

@@bisco4904 lucio has a high skill ceiling and is well deserving of it. He requires a lot of game sense and mechanical ability to maximize his abilities' effectiveness. He has never been an oppressive or cancerous hero either. Now that I think of it, he might be the most balanced hero in overwatch of all time.
This meta though, its not so much his speedboost which teams want, but rather his good defensive ult, survivability and peel potential.

The double barrier and the Doom/Sigma videos came out about as quickly as the Meta changed
Love how the title is sigma doom fist when it's really sigma orisa. The reason doom is played is because he is one of the only people that counter sigma in a double barrier setting.
The only reason those tanks are viable is because if u play any other tank, u'll get blown up instantly by every single dps.
I think it’s because sigma and doom fist are the main things that changed from the last meta
Hi, this is the scriptwriter for the video here. I would say this video focuses more on Doomfist play as well as going more in depth on how the different heroes interact with each other, and is more relevant to the current Sigma patch for the playoffs. Sigma Orisa is the basis for this composition, but there are a lot of micro plays that differ from the Stage 4 patch which we also look at.
Just your average fan they super buffed dps to stop goats and when role q hit, the only tanks that were viable were the ones that didn’t die fast
@Enda O'Rourke no shit, but orisa is what makes the comp with sigma because of the way the barriers function.
I have just realized that it should be called Talon Meta.
I love how at that time barriers were so strong that the meta wasn't "break the barrier with the most damage possible" but instead "play heroes that can ignore the barriers". After the barrier nerf patch though it was more again about the shieldbreak. It's interesting how the barriers became this op. The most interesting thing though is that this variation of double shield was way more brawly because it's the only way to get in damage, while the shieldbreak variation is more bunker-focused because of how careful you have to be.
Why call it the space slam? Call it Space Jam!
Space Jam has traditionally referred to grav + meteor. Personally I prefer calling the sigma doom ult combo the alley oop.
They could call it orbital strike, Gravity dunk, meteor mash. But no, space slam. Which lame ass named it that

I find that my main Junkrat is quite a good counter to this meta. He can damage the tanks from quite a distance, without Reaper and Doomfist touching him. If Doomfist comes in, Junkrat has escape options. Junkrat can attack from an off-angle, via reflecting his nades on walls to bypass the shields.
Does not work in pro play nor t500. Then again there are plenty of diamond players in t500 do to Moira, Sigma and Orisa.

Tyler Stewart nope. It does however, increase the damage of the initial lift-up. (Originally 50 damage)

Alejandro Pedro Hi, the scriptwriter for the video here. I would say this video is more relevant to the Sigma patch for playoffs and also focuses more on the micro plays that Doomfist, Orisa and Sigma players will make due to the synergy between these heroes, which are not touched on as much in the double barrier video.
