- Defense Matrix is considered by many as one of D.Va's most versatile abilities which when combined with her high mobility makes for some great denial plays and protective capabilities.
Out of all the projectiles that it can consume, likely the most notable, especially during the height of the GOATS meta, is Zarya's Graviton Surge as successfully eating it denies a team a critical high-charge time.
In the Overwatch League, there are several of these plays featuring the likes of D.Va players such as Fury and Meko, but it is outside of the league, in Overwatch Contenders, is where we find a D.Va who was so proficient with this ability that he holds the record for most Gravs ever eaten in a single map.

Sadly this was before killfeed showed when Grav was eaten, so It's definitely more confusing having 5 gravs eaten but not even understanding when any of it happened lol.

You really think it was hard to build Grav quickly in GOATS? Lob right clicks into the enemy and you will get Grav.

The funniest part of this is that Hoon was considered a Zarya OTP for most of his careeer, picking up D.va only in First Dive Meta, then doing this in GOATS when his Zarya should have been utilized.

Hoon was a monster Zarya too back in the day, it's really unfortunate he wasn't picked up for OWL, it's clear he had the level necessary.
Mefisto Books yeah totally agree, but as dive comps came on the rise, libero moved to dps from flex(dva) and hoon was asked for the dva role, which at that time, wasnt this level
Yeah hoon eating those gravs was cool but could we talk about how fast Edison built those gravs.

Hoon actually ate 6 gravs on Hollywood, he ate another one on attack on point 1 at the end of the fight right before the fight where he got his “first” eat in this video. Also watching this vod was physically painful because the casters are completely fucking clueless the entire time and don’t notice a single graviton eat 😂
Hoon's improvent was very remarkable, very first time playing APEX he was very bad in Dva so Libero, who is playing for NYXL, played Dva. But after time passed his Dva was very impressed and I am very confident that he reach OWL. But sadly he left Meta and Skyfoxes he retire. Good luck Hoon

JJanu is def top tier, but people overhype him in my opinion, he is a very good and a very versatile player, but i dont think he shares ground with Fury's dva and Choi at all

i loved goats meta. everybody was 100% always brawling. there was no boring poke phase is was just scraping. think about boxing its not fun watching people run away and jab the whole fight i wanna see them scrap.

I'd like to see more overlays, since the resolution on wifi/data bounces back and forth.

I once ate a pulse bomb, a graviton surge and a Blizzard in one match (I’ve never really noticed how slow Blizzard moves when activating until now). That was fun. Btw the pulse bomb was accidental, but it sure as hell was tasty.
I really love these videos looking back a old overwatch moments that most either don't know about or forgot about.

I feel like Dva's ability to eat ults should be nerfed, Sigma can but it's much harder.
It bugs me that he's eaten more ults on one map than I have in 45 hours.
I hv D.va's golden since level 300 (level 834 rn) and bought Sigma's golden when I got level 800, and I've already eaten more ults with sigma then with dva
The goat meta was the best meta TO PLAY. And sincerely, nobody anymore cares about OWL that much to talk about an overwatch "good to watch".
Because a lot of people stopped playing during the Goats meta. Also it affected team rosters, such as DPS specialists. It was a good meta but it lasted way too long. Everyone was calling it boring since the DPS heroes became useless.

Okay I don’t see how he could have eaten the first grav. He ends his boosters at 10 seconds, and lands on the ground behind Modern. Edison gravs at like eight seconds, and Hoon wasn’t in LOS on the point, and wasn’t able to boost to high ground behind him. So idk maybe I just don’t see it. But good job Hoon on a stellar map regardless

This is why people hated GOATS. An unimpressive draw after an almost 30 minute game where team fights were ENTIRELY decided by ultimates, whether you had them or not during every team fight. It’s unimpressive to watch, and not entertaining in the least, all team fights become the same after watching a few of them. However, Hoon and Einstein’s play here was both amazing, not gonna detract from that. I love how the def matrix ‘eaten’ in the killfeed was added during this, yeah, we gotta find a way to enable spectators and casters to understand some of the nuance of this style of play bc without actually understanding how the defense matrix is important, it’s just hard to watch.

Yeah I did the same thing once back in 2017, but I lost the game which led me to actually quitting the game.
