Hi , how would I go about troubleshooting a hydraulic cooling fan that does not engage all the time ,, specially when the ac is not on seems like the ECT keeps climbing reaching over 100C before the fan starts to spin faster ,, any incite or direction on what to look for or how to troubleshoot would be really appreciated . this is for a 2010 Grand cherokee 5.7L with the MDS ,around 127000Kms , the engine overheated with previous owner due to water pump failure and possibly higher then usual running temperatures.,
Can the fan be installed backward? I just noticed by fan is blowing the air out of the engine bay and not sucking in cool air from outside. I have a 2006 Jeep Commander 5.7 Hemi.
That's how the fan spins. It takes power from the power steering pump and there is a control valve the regulates flow for steady rpm. It's really efficient. My Jeep has a shit ton of miles on the original radiator and cooling fans.

Did you find a power steering fluid from an auto store or have to use Mopar specific ?
Do not waste your time on this hydraulic cooling fan. Just switch to an electric cooling fan, I purchased 2 12" cooling fans on Amazon and a relay that automatically turns them on at a set temperature, for like $100. They still work almost 50k miles later and my truck stays cool even on hot summer days sitting in traffic. Or you can switch to a mechanical fan if you can't comprehend how to wire up electric fans.
That hydraulic fan is the worst idea i think ive seen an engineer ever come up with lol they are so bad of an idea there is nothing wrong with a clutch fan its the most reliable fan ever made for a engine❤
Where's part two. I'm having trouble removing the fan assembly so I can replace my radiator for my Overland edition Commander with the 5.7 Hemi.
Can this fix be used on the 4.7L V8 engine?
nice job. where did you get the seal from?
Do the hydraulic fan run upon start up of the vehicle
Wear can I find the replacement seals for the fan

Where do I find those seals?
I believe my fan is leaking but also making a really bad noise. Should I just convert to electric fan?
What happened to Part 2? I cannot find it.
Where u get the fan
Wheres part 2?
I can't find it either??
Part 2?
Do u know does the hydraulic fan turns freely while in side car while its off since its hydraulic or it dont
Is there a part number for the fan without the hydraulic system?
I dont think so..... I do not recall seeing a part number on it.
can you tell what hydraulic pump is for on the fan?
