I don't think people appreciate enough the incredible work Michael Fisher puts in these videos. Those beautiful shots, the engaging and highly addictive audio narration, the quick reference to Star Trek, and the amount of inside details about these phones is what makes his videos one of, if not, THE best quality unboxing/hands on/review videos on UA-cam.
Thank you, Mr Fisher. Live long and prosper!
agree, the best review for new nexus phones so far, tired of those Indian "reviews"
When clicking the video I was literally thinking "please be from M. Fisher", ha ha.
true DAT! Thanks Mr. Fisher. I think you have made up for not being there on the launch... ;) you should be proud.
+Christian Gabriel I wish Michael Fisher could review my life.
Exactly my words bruh!
Why do companies always insist on making the bigger phones have better specs than the smaller ones? I just want a phone I can use with one hand but with the specs of a higher end and bigger phone. Tired of seeing the screen sizes get bigger. I understand their appeal, but I'm sure some people still prefer small, powerful phones.
+Gentle Singularity I mean the 5X is only cheaper because of the lower specs, if they had identical specs besides the screen size the price would barely differ. plus it's easier to fit more into a bigger body so naturally big phones will be the better of the two.
+Kiefer Wickham also the 5X is suposed to be the cheaper of the 2 and like i said to do that they had to use worse/older specs and remove a few features to cut costs.
A small phone with a small battery using a power hungry processor and hardware will make battery life nonexistent. A less powerful processor is more than enough for a small phone like a 5x.
+Gentle Singularity also lesser pixels to push and process. So, performance will almost be the same at the end of the day. But I know what you mean. That's why I love the z5 compact! ;)
+Gentle Singularity Apple offers what you are looking for....
I really want to love the 6P but there are just two things keeping me from buying it. Those huge bezels and the European price.
Huge bezels? Are we even seeing the same phone?
Sam Gardner The 6P is the same height as the Nexus 6 which has a 6" display. The side bezels are fine, it's just that the top and bottom bezels are pretty big.
yeah the bezels are quite big, but thats the tradeoff for the dual stereo front facing speakers :). It is also very light and thin compared to the iphone 6s plus for example. You are right, the prices are quite high, but we have no Note 5 in europe so this phone is going to be my first choice
+Tim Kuipers The Nexus 6 had really small bezels, but had to be 11mm to do so. The Nexus 6P still now has about average bezel, but is 7.3mm at the hump, it's 6.1 everywhere else. The Nexus 6P has a big battery, is really slim, and doesn't even have much bezel at all.
Pooa Feas True, I'm still considering it although I'm not sure if it's just better to wait till next year when phones with the 820 are being released.
This guy sounds like a 1930s radio broadcaster.
+Alin Marginean and thats what makes his videos classic!
You know what Michael, 'Listening' to your videos too is an amazing experience...!!! Thank you.
Am I the only one who thinks Michael has THE BEST narration voice?
I'm a sucker for Amoled screens. It's like front facing speakers on a phone, once you experience it, you never want to go back so yeah. Hello 6P.
One of the best product reviews I have seen in a long time. The video editing, side-by-side comparisons, examples shown and even the pace of the reviewer's voice was really good. Have never seen a review from Pocketnow until today. Will be subscribing.
Keep up the great work.
Dude, you are thorough for this not being a full review. I really appreciate that. MKBHD barely gave any info on it in comparison, nor did he even have a video on the Xperia Z5 which is what I've been anxiously waiting for. Subbed for sure.
+Eli Weeks there's not much info to tell until MKBHD gives a full review. Plus we knew all the info before these so called unboxing videos (Pocket now, MKBHD, or anyone else). All specs infos were released. Did you learn anything watching this video?
***** I saw the brief hands on from MKBHD and really didn't see or learn much. Didn't get an idea of what the quality was like of the screen and camera. This channel, however, was very informative. For me at least. To each their own. I mean, there was side by side comparisons of pictures and videos. MKBHD didn't do anything like that. That's more review sort of stuff.
MKBHD has a very...well...MKBHD style of reviewing. He doesn't drop tons of reviews for every device (unlike regular tech channels). Is it because he seems to work alone, because he shoots with very high end cameras (4K), because he's busy with school, or he just posts what he wants to. I'm sure he''ll do a nexus review but I won't be surprised if it takes him a few days or a week to upload.
+Eli Weeks totally agree!!
Great video. Thanks for approaching it a bit different than the other reviews currently out.
Very nice: Editing, filming, narrative, comparison. You UA-camrs are very professional! Well done.
The production values of your video here is great. That was an incredible comparison and I really enjoyed the side by side chrome test among other things. You are very well spoken in the video and the quality of the recording was excellent. Thank you, that was a pleasure to watch.
Great review - your reviews are getting better and better. Well done, Michael Fisher.
Man I would have been willing to pay another $50-70 for wireless charging and 1GB more RAM on the 5X. Would have been my perfect phone then.
husain alaa Anything larger than a 5.2 screen is pretty much a negative to me other than the LG G4 since it's about the same size as an average 5.2 phone. Now I don't know what I want anymore.
+husain alaa Go for moto X style/pure edition, it's the most appealing atm.
+Panzer_Z G4 is nice, leather feels good, display looks amazing, and it also fits good into the hands ^^
ardi du that's why I wished the new V10 was the same size at the G4
No such thing
very candid review.....I liked the review a lot in comparisons to the other reviews on you tube
presentation is on point with each and every michael fisher video
for a hundred more bucks the 6p is easily the better deal
yeah ikr! maybe if it was 200 dollars more the 5x would be more preferable
+HashtagKingd0m
maybe if *5x* was 200 dollars less than the *6p* would be more preferable.
thats what i said but like... badly worded :P
One of the best reviews i have seen. Great job!
thanks for the coverage Michael been looking forward to this
Thanks for the review on both as comparison...
Excellent video as usual from Pocketnow, looking forward to the full reviews.
thank you Michael once again for delivering as you have for years ;
Why do they always use crapper components in the smaller screen phones? JUST CHANGE THE GODDAMN SCREEN SIZE!
+Shaun “Obey Demons” Nicholson there won't be noticeable price point drop though
RK Blocksman I understand that... Some people want the latest specs with just a smaller screen
+Shaun “Obey Demons” Nicholson
Smaller screen= less resolution.
The 6p needs those specs because its pushing more pixels.
Plus it's running stock Android and is optimized to run on that hardware. I'm sure it will run faster then my galaxy s6
kushdaddy144 yes i understand that... Still think a smaller screen same specs would of been better
kushdaddy144
wait......... i though the opposite about the screen resolution, like smaller screen = more resolution.
for instance, if you pack the same amount of pixels in two phones, the smaller one will have more pixels per inch
or am i missing on something?
Michael Fisher!!! Your great!! Wish you did all the reviews. Not saying the others aren't good. But I feel like you get the reviews across much better than the other people.
Mr Fisher love you reviews! Keep it up !
wonderful video comparison!!! i really enjoyed. appreciate.
I love Michael Fisher's review so much. So professional and not bias in any way.
Amazingly detailed preview!
michael fisher's reviews are always a good watch
Really looking forward to the review
Great comparison!
wow Thank you for such a great review!
I've never been impressed enough to actually comment!
lots of work, artistic design and detail! thumbs up!
love the side by side picture and video comparison too
awesome work on the review!
great video as always Michael thanks
This video is really well made with so much attention to details. Even the apps are the exact same on the two phones.
Wonderful review. Covered all points that I was looking for. Michael Fisher is one of the best reviewers out there.
great review. thanks.
Your by far my favorite reviewer awesome job Capt. 2 phones.
Excellent video Michael and Pocketnow
...totally upgrading from an LG G2..that used to be a Nexus 5..to the 6P. Cannot wait...just need to wait(I know what I said before) for it to go on sale in stores..
Michael Fisher you are beyond awesome with your videos and i must say that your talent of editing and dialog delivery is outstanding :)
very nice video michael !
Was looking Forward to hearing something about the Finger Print Scanners....
apart from that as usual..
The Video was excellent like always.
An excellent initial review..
great review!
As always, reviews made by Mr. M Fisher are top of top...LIKE A BOSS.
great review as usual, can't wait for my 6p!
Great comparison, exceptional video. I was engaged the entire time. 👍👌
Well done. Helps a lot.
best pocketnow video yet, great job guys :)
Nice vid..hey where's the antenna/radio located on the 6P? heard it was behind the glass window but read it was below behind a plastic strip?
Best review vid I have yet to see....also I realized what city he was in as soon as the first picture of the white building was thrown up there....of course my old stomping grounds lol. So on that notegreat vid quality, very informative, and extra credit for being in places i get my coffee at *cough*Diesel Cafe*cough*
captain two phones you sir are great at what you do.
Great Review !!
Solid video M.Fisher🏾👍🏾
Top notch video yet again Mr. Fisher
Love the new Minutiae section Michael
Excellent review.
I still feel that michael is the best reviewer on youtube, keep up the good work man! :D
I use long you review bro. you are one of the best.
You apparently like real music. Love the Pinback track. Great video too!
How the speakers of the 6P standing against the Moto Style? please tell us:) love all your videos:)
Michael does a really good job!
Fantastic review.
wish hauwei made a smaller nexus at 5inch for about 429 instead on LG
Emad Ahmed I didn't say I also wanted the cheaper price. I would just like the 6p in a smaller size similar price of the 6p would be perfectly fine. Maybe in the 429-479 range is good since it would be smaller and made with less materials. It would be a much nicer phone, amoled screen, more ram, metal construction etc
I forget that your from Massachusetts and its nice to see my home in reviews ha-ha.
Great video, thanks a lot!!! :)
I'm getting the 5X when it comes out. Nexus 5 nostalgia all around, best phone I ever owned, just better, and that's enough for me.
Very good and quick comparison ... waiting for camera comparison against Iphone 6s :D
you mister Fisher know how to make a phone video special..... excellent work
Excellent video, I just love the narration and the awesome shoots.
now with the devices, I said it since the keynote, the 5X isn't a good deal by any means, it starts at 16gb so the 379$ price tag is not an option, so we end up with 429$ to spend, just 70$ away from dual speakers, premium build, much better screen, faster performance and a USB-A cable on the nexus 6P, unless you can't stand having a phablet there's no choice to make...
@Pocketnow
How big does it feel? The largest screen I've used is of the S4's although I liked the way Note 5 felt when I tested it. Does the 6P feel similar to Note 5 when in pockets or when in action or is it significantly bigger to notice any discomfort? The Nexus 6 for instance is a beast and I'd hate to own it just for its size. Thanks in advance
Looking forward to your full reviews. if possible, could you comment on the 3.5mm wired headphone jack, such as the audio volume and quality? this is always omitted in reviews, focus going to the speakers instead, which whilst important will never be used as much as the headphone jack (unless you're a chav on the back of a bus). Nexus phones have always been poor in this regard so hopeful to see improvement this year. Thanks.
I like you speaker. You are an eloquent person with a vast vocabulary. Cheers
I can't wait for the comparison with the Moto X pure
Is the chamfered edge of the 6p as sharp as it is on the iPhone 5? I always thought that edge was way too sharp pressed into my hand all day.
Michael Fisher is my favorite reviewer... keep going ;)
Yay a Michael Fisher video!
These are the mobile phones I've owned:
1. Philips TCD308 diga (BT Cellnet )
2. Sony Ericsson T300 (green) - Symbian OS
3. Sony Ericsson W800 - Symbian OS
4. Sony Ericsson W950i (resistive touch screen, massive 4G memory!) - Symbian OS
5. Samsung Galaxy S (i9000 - capacitive touch screen) - Android OS
6. Motorola Moto G (1st gen) - Android OS
7. LG G2 - Android OS (current)
Your turn.
can you guys make a review about the lumia 950? thanks
will you guys consider doing comparison of Nexus 5x vs Nexus 6 (2014)? Since they have similar price tag right now I guess there should be lots of people thinking to get either one of them
Josh and Micheal Fisher have the best reviews for the Nexus phones. Hands down.
Very true by you MA friend
Although I’ve never used either of these phones but still I’ve seen most of pocketnow videos and seriously agree with you guys
That is after knowing the specs... properly
hey mickel wil u plz make a detailed com poo arison of android vs ios.....i have used many android phones and they lag too much....
In the full review, is it possible to compare the amp inside each phone when the tester is using a "popular" set of headphones or in-ears instead of the, in my opinion, useless test of the external speakers? I mean why and when would you use the speakers in you new phone to impress your friends?
I find that my Nexus 5 (original) lack a bit of umph when I'm using my headphones, compared to a Sony och Apple device.
Thanks
I want mine, I preordered it the day it came out
I love how he talks about the different look of colours on one versus the other, and I'm barely seeing it. People are just being too picky on these devices. They're both great. I think the deciding point should be the size for anyone. I have big hands but I hate phones that are over 5 inches, so I'd definitely stick with the smaller one.
is it just me or does the front of the nexus 6p look exactly like the moto g 2nd gen?
like everything from the notification light to the speakers and bezels
Is that Davis Square in Somerville/Boston, MA?
I currently have a HTC One M7. Worried about the size of this handset. Feel like it would be too big? Or slip out of my hands? But I really want it.
Great video
great comparison by on of the best tech reviewers in UA-cam.
Just one doubt, I've used a Nexus 5 for 2 years always on pockets and rear camera glass have no signs of wear or scratches, I suppose it has a sapphire protective layer (not sure though) could this be an issue for the gorilla glass in Nexus 6P rear camera? - I'm asking because if it starches it can affect picture quality..
Hey, Like it price snow What's your opinion about this !!!
a good phone for daily use. The review is very informative.
+Pocketnow+ Its a nice review. What i am curious to know is that since 6P uses a Snapdragon 810 processor, does it get hot while on call or using Camera ?? Please let me know this clearly. Based on this i will have to take a call on which one to go for.
Great comparison. Live Long and Prosper.
What a comparison! Micheal Fisher and MKBHD are the gods in this industry . I cannot buy a phone without checking out your reviews. Thanks a lot guys!
Now this is what all comparisons should be like
honestly which do you is better the nexus 5x ,6p or the moto x pure ?
