I'm starting to like the new Marshmallow Update, it's not bad, and looking better than the previous one. I can't wait until they do the new Lumia reviews!
bradd tate Oh, haha, I have the Lumia 640 Microsoft Handset; awaiting the Windows 10 Mobile update and the new continuum features, along with the portability of Android apps.
+MrBlitz We only rigged it up for about 30 seconds for that specific shot. Our battery usage figures don't take into account charging other devices. (And a special thanks to MKBHD for tipping us off to that functionality!) ^M
+Pocketnow Gotcha! It's interesting nonetheless to see a smartphone charging another smartphone... it's like a car giving another car a jumpstart. Hopefully this becomes possible in future smartphones. :P
+MrBlitz Many Huawei phones this year have had this feature (P8, Mate S, Honor 6+, Honor 7 and maybe others) using a USB On-The-Go lead. I used it once, to try it, and doubt I'll use it again - and will probably forget anyway!
Watching this in 2017. This was my first Nexus phone and now I am rocking the Pixel XL. I adore Google phones, but this one holds a special place in my heart.
If anyone's looking for more detail on the Nexus 6P, especially with regard to Google Now on Tap and the all important battery life, our full review is now live at Pocketnow! pocketnow.com/2015/10/23/google-nexus-6p-review ^M
+Pocketnow Subjectively to me 6p looks good but the visor is very ugly. Got a dbrand carbon fiber skin as my solution and it looks great. Also less slippery. If the 6p use MateS design and form factor (smaller) it'd be perfect. That said if that combo sells for $800+ (I think that's mateS pricing) I'd still stick with 6p for value.
+vito fiore If there's anything the Nexus 6P proves, it's that we should no longer be afraid of the 810 boogeyman. (Of course, that's what we've been saying for a while: pocketnow.com/2015/07/21/oneplus-two-snapdragon-810) ^M
I always look forward to Michael's reviews of products. Partly because he gives his viewers a visual guide of my fair city of Boston, but mostly for his thorough information on products.
I have been using my Nexus 6P Aluminum with 32GB on board and i haven't regretted a second of it since i started using it. I got it the first week of February. the Pure Android experience is amazing.
What about the GB? Do you think it's enough? I can't decide if I should go for 32 or 64 but I'm more drawn towards 32,bdcausw there's cloud storage and stuff
+Michael G I mostly use Spotify, which doesn't take much space. Google photos also has unlimited cloud storage for the photos so that's also a plus. And I don't play many games too. I think I'll be fine with a 32GB :P
I'm glad Pocketnow has been growing so fast recently. They deserve it, all the staff on their team do such a great job. But particularly Michael, Jaime and Stephen. They are so good at what they do from the daily updates to the weekly podcast. Thanks Pocketnow for another great review. Can't wait to pick up a 6P.
I don't. I just don't. I don't think it's ugly, but the visor just doesn't look that good, and the rest of the back is a bit plain for my tastes. but that's just my opinion
+Nicholas Montalvo Idk I used to not like the phone because of the visor but every time I see it, the phone becomes more appealing, especially in black, with that beautiful, smooth slim metal body.
***** No regrets whatsoever, I don't miss the iPhone at all and I don't think I will ever switch back to it. Android is so much better, especially the stock version which comes with Nexus phones. Get the 6P.
***** Are you aware not everybody uses Spotify? Clearly you are too dense to grasp that concept even halfway. If you're so surprised that somebody wasn't familiar with a certain app that you have to question ones mental stability, I think you might be the one with a bit of an issue.
Michael as always a fantastic review. Absolutely agree with you on all points. Picked up my 128 GB version few weeks ago. My 1st Nexus and I'll never go back.
I can't believe you guys didn't find it beautiful. The back is the most stunning I've ver seen, thought the front could use a little bit of work. Smaller bezels or at least rounder ones would have made it absolutely perfect, though they probably wanted it to look different from the Nexus 6, which would explain this more angular design.
The best Nexus yet. The Huawei's stocks have just risen after this review. Only, if it was a smaller phone. Why manufacturers believe that everyone needs 5.5-5.7" displays???
+TechLineHD Well that's subjective. I actually prefer 5.5-5.7" displays. Not to say that I wouldn't want a smaller phone so long as it is looks good and functions well. But generally speaking, I'd prefer larger screens
+Rahul Dhruve yeah, it's subjective and I am being subjective here :) However, I am a bit tired of the large screen phones (OnePlus 2, ZTE Axon, Letv Le 1 Pro, Meizu MX5), so I went with the Galaxy S6 Edge. I wear skinny jeans, you know :D
In my opinion the iPhone 6s Plus and the nexus 6p are the best phones you can own today. I have pretty much zero complaints with my plus and every review of the 6p has me so excited. Counting down the days til mine finally ships!
Z5 Premium should be better then 6P imo for including micro sd with currently up to 200gb cards(!) , 4k for videos and photos, MUCH better design, ip68, better battery life due to sony's special optimizations and 1080p in most modes, noise cancellation earphones, fm radio built in, slightly more compact dimensions. The camera should be slightly better as well. 6p advantage is only in faster android updates the way i see it.
+Amir Amran This almost convinced me to pick the Z5 from the two. Can you also assure me that the Z5 won't be too slippery, and if dropped it won't leave ugly scratch marks, because it is built from glass? That might be my only concern with that phone, otherwise it is nearly a perfect package.
Temesvári Hunor Well, lets assume that z5p is as slippery as 6p, now, you get more and better with z5 premium (from spec, impressions and hands on), so what do you have to loose with z5p? i am most likely preordering z5p after watching a few reviews, i suggest you to do the same. If you are concerned about dropping the phone, any phone, you should get a folder case and use the phone bare when you know it has less chance to drop, or, you can use a case and still show the design - like using front and back tempered glass, front tg+spigen ultra hubrid transparent case or front tg+spigen liquid crystal case. I'm most likely getting a high quality ultra thin leather folder case as default case and after some time i will buy front and back tg or ftg+transparent case.
ah design is subject. IMO Sony phones are ...not ugly but just too plain. I don't know why you mentioned 4k video since the 6p records in 4k. By the looks of the the 6p battery will be on par with z5. Only advantage of z5 is ip68 and micro SD. For almost double the cost...is it really worth it? You could get a 128gb nexus 6p for less than the cost of the base z5.
+vijay dacosta Design taste is taste. To me, the z5p seamless design is really good and superior by far. I meant that z5p has a 4k display (for playing videos and photos only, for rest it is 1080p which means, optimal battery life while still having 4k res for videos and photos if you wish). If you don't want or need what z5p has to offer (z5p has more then what you mentioned) and budget is very important to you then 6p is a definitely a good option imo.
The design is definitely unique, and I personally think it's gorgeous. I love the aesthetics of it. I ordered one yesterday, can't wait for it to get here!
Great review but the phone is meh. I think the excitement from phones is over for me. bigger screen, better CPU, who cares anymore? The G2 from 3 years ago can still do anything a non gamer needs. The era of the cellphones is over. they are like laptops now. basic commodity.

Lex Francis We all could use better specs and newer OS version but 3 years ago the software and hardware differences were huge and critical. Now they are fun and nice to have at best at least in my opinion.
EBay. or craigalist. phones sell for a bunch on those sites, especially unlocked. And since the nexus is cheaper you should have no problem getting enough money for one.
You guys can maybe enable the sRGB mode in developer options to make the color more accurate and fix the bluish white. The default profile probably pushes the AMOLED panel as far as it goes, namely very saturated colors but not very accurate.
This is the first phone in a while that meets all five of my most important parts of a phone. -Beautiful display -Stereo speakers -Long lasting battery -Excellent camera -Great software Bravo Huawei and Google.
Michael Fisher is my favourite reviewer... Don't know why, but I always enjoy his reviews :D Sometimes I imagine doing reviews as well.. Don't know.. seems to be a really interesting job. Always trying something new.

I'd really like to know more about the external sound. It's important to me because I listen to MP3s with the phone in my pocket while on loud building sites. I'm currently on a note 4 which is very good. Are you able to compare the 2?
I actually like the design a whole lot. Sleek. Its a design that slowly grows on you and will look good for a long time.
+Austin Hughes Yeah,It's the best looking phone in my opinion.
I'm starting to like the new Marshmallow Update, it's not bad, and looking better than the previous one. I can't wait until they do the new Lumia reviews!
Yup :) excately my opinion
+kyle alves what phone do you have the 6p or 5x
bradd tate Oh, haha, I have the Lumia 640 Microsoft Handset; awaiting the Windows 10 Mobile update and the new continuum features, along with the portability of Android apps.
Seems a lot of people have an issue with the visor on top. I absolutely love the design of this phone.
the 6P was ahead of its time. look at the current Pixel design (6,7,8). the visor looks nice and distinctive from other current phones)
I know appearance can be very subjective, but I will have to disagree with Michael. I think the design looks really beautiful and solid
Yes me to it has definitely grown in Me over time and ivr heard from sources that the back of the phone actually had a slight soft touch to it
+mike vasquez It definitely does not. ^M
+Pocketnow I think it looks great! Good job Michael....love the vids! Keep 'em coming!
+Pocketnow Lolz
i agree with you its beautiful!
I love the way Michael Fisher talks!
"I'm Michael Fisher with Pocketnow.."

So the 6P can both last a whole day no problem AND charge another phone? Is this a phone or a power pack dressed as a phone?

The Snapdragon 810 is the 2.1 version so the heating issues have been addressed, know the updates

I still can't find any excuse to stop using my nexus 5 2013.
***** not after the marshmallow update, it tripled for me.
Replace a new battery, boom new phone.
i still use my nexus 4 :D
I am still on N5 as well, but I am in need of a better camera. it's OK, but new cameras are so much better I want it too!
+Sidharth Satheesh same, although i am really looking forward to own a dual sim with OIS and fingerprint scanner
That off centered camera lens annoys me :P
Yeah, it erks me as well. :)
+Anthony Griffin I think it looks like a bar code scanner from the back, not liking it at all.
+Anthony Griffin Than a lot of phones must annoy you.
+Anthony Griffin I used to not like the visor either but the whole phone is so beautiful and especially in that color.
Center cameras annoy me most.
This is probably the best smartphone video review I've ever seen. Period. Fantastic job.

A nexus with a good camera! FINALLY! Sold.
The most comprehensive review around! Great job Michael.
I don't get how people don't think this phone is beautiful.
+Nicholas Montalvo people who likes more rugged design than sleek like iphone. i love the look of droid turbo. and love this one too
I don't. I just don't. I don't think it's ugly, but the visor just doesn't look that good, and the rest of the back is a bit plain for my tastes. but that's just my opinion

Mr. Mxyzptlk yeah, its crazy how subjective the looks of this thing is
Pocketnow commentaries are exceptionally well crafted .Excellent delivery

It's a lovely phone.
I must add, this is probably one of the best reviews I've seen Fisher do. I think I'm settled on which phone do I want next now.
I was hanging between OP2 and Moto X but 6P made it clear for me 😊
+Allen Tom Yeah while it may not be the king of all phones it is definitely the King of Android
I was literally getting chills at the end from the way you were describing the phone
Nexus 6P costs 650€ in Europe so not really compelling
Informative review.
On a side note, Pocketnow reviews always remind of how much I don't miss living in Boston.
The black 6P looks sexy!
Definitely getting the black one.
Man...I was waiting for this review... Fisher's reviews are always gorgeous!! And it worth the wait. Nexus 6P will be my next smartphone. Thanks!

Almost perfect for me... I hope it has that dual window features like in TouchWiz
you can activate it..by tinkering a bit
+Vimanyu Devgan how is that?
Look it up you need to edit the build.prop a bit..but its entirely possible... It's an experimental feature of marshmellow
+Vimanyu Devgan not doing that to a new 500$ phone...except Google doing that themselves
It's really not that difficult... Plus a nexus is meant to be tweaked...the development on nexus phones is crazy...anyways to each his own

Best 6P review I think I have seen yet! Can't wait to get one!
Huawei knows how to design a phone.

Michael Fisher. You have this awesome skill to make a phone review sound like a beautiful story :) great job. Keep digging tech!
holy crap fisher i knew i was thinking about getting this phone before but your review just made this a guaranteed buy great review!
6P vs Note 5 will be the best comparison of all time to date. I CANNOT WAIT
It's that time of year again, still using my Nexus 5 :D Great Review Michael!
This is the first phone in a while that meets all five of my most important parts of a phone.
-Beautiful display
-Stereo speakers
-Long lasting battery
-Excellent camera
-Great software
Bravo Huawei and Google.
Amazing review Mr Fisher as always. This will be my upgrade to the Galaxy S5 as soon as the 6P hits Australia.
Best phone reviewer without a doubt! Thanks Mr. Fisher

Nice review! :)
can u compare the Nexus 6P to LG's G4 or/and Samsung's Galaxy S6?
Are you guys going to do a comparison of the 6P to the Moto X PE?
Absolutely a top drawer review. My 2 thumbs up to the team.
cant wait for my preorder to arrive, pure android with no carrier restrictions :)
Great review with none of the hype!!! Solid review that any consumer can understand!!

Does the graphite colour attracts more fingerprint compared to other colour ways?
you are the best reviewer in the UA-cam!
Great review. I always wait around to watch a video review from you guys. Thanks a lot for the info. When the phone is back in stock, ill buy one.
Is there a Nexus 6P vs Moto X Pure video in the works?
It's the best looking Nexus Michael! Can't wait to buy this!
Michael you know where I can buy one 6p online any store you recommend?
What did you drop it on? A pillow? Mine broke with one 2 foot drop!
Another fantastic in-depth review, much appreciated!
