In Greek Mythology Lydia was the city where Bellerophon was sent to do some tasks for the king that included kill the Chimera, get the Amazons to stop attacking Lydia, and get the Solymoi (who were blessed by Ares) to stop attacking Lydia.
In real life Lydia was a wealthy city that was located along some important trade routes.
At school we make a LOT of Greek versions about this fucking Lidia, the king Cresus ecc ecc, I know Lidia better than my house😂

one of my favorite bells and whistles about this mod is that some of the units of Atlantis throw tridents instead of javelins, Was a fun battle hope people enjoy it.
Ngl, I think we need more battle replays with this mod. It looks pretty darn cool :)

The Acient Cretan were famous in all of the Acient World for their Archerskills. Maybe thats why the Cretan Hoplites have Bows.
Apollo, Lydia was an Iron Age Cvilitaion (1,200 BC ~ 500 BC) inhabiting Anatolia (modern day Turkey). They were probably the first people to make real coinage and they spoke Lydian from the extinct Anatolian language subfamily. They’re capital was in Sardis containing Greek style architecture and they use a Greek influenced alphabet.
The Amazons were probably inspired by Scythian/Sarmatian warrior women who were found in graves by the Greeks.
While Caledonians were probably ancient Scots.
The Ebdani were probably ancient Irishman according to to Claudius Ptolemy’s (100 AD ~ 170 AD) 𝘎𝘦𝘰𝘨𝘳𝘢𝘱𝘩𝘺.
P.S. take what I say with a 🤏 of🧂 because there are always going to be new discoveries and interpretations of ancient texts.
Also Apollo the reason the Lydians looked so armored up is probably because Anatolia was one of the first places to work large amounts of Iron.

Hmm the irony in this battle lmao, Lydia I believe was allied with the Trojans during the Trojan War and was enemies with the Amazonians, so the fact that Lydia is fighting against Troy and with the Amazons is super ironic

Ok, the story I just made up. Basically, the Persians own the settlement, and hired the Lydians and men from Atlantis as mercenaries, while the amazons had children with the men in the settlement, and decided to protect them. The Greeks were there to destroy the Persians, and the Trojans were POWS forced to fight for the Greeks. And the Irish faction and the caledonions were mercenaries too.

@@unknowguy9642 some of this factions is mythological such as the Amazonias and the Atlantis and some other they never have contact with the others (lrish Knossos faction from the isle of crete ).so there is no historical accuracy

Actually there is this place Mauritania close to a city called Ouadane that has the nickname of "The eye of Africa." I can't remember who it was that made the series of videos but there is quite substantial evidence that this could be the location of Atlantis as there are just far to many things about it that line up with the story as told by Plato, from the dimensions of the location to Elephant populations, colours of rocks and the birth rates of Twins. I personally believe the theory to be true, i'll find a link to the videos for you.

@@theepicjoey3215 I find that one plausible if it’s the same video I watched awhile ago. I definitely feel that Atlantis existed due to multiple mentions of it throughout ancient texts, but I’m not sure if that’s its location. Definitely an interesting topic for sure.
Probably an ice age civilization wiped out by the large rise in water levels following the melting of the icebergs or could have been a Bronze Age Mediterranean civilization located on the island of Santorini but all evidence is circumstantial and the only source of the info is Plato who’s famous for writing his philosophies down in allegory’s so take what you will from it
Lydea was a kingdom where Troy also fell under. It was situated in the western part of Turkey.

The real life Amazons are the Acient North Neighbors of the Greek. The Scythian Nomand Tribe had female Warriors in their Raiding parties against the Greek and also Persia.

Lydia (if I'm not mistaken) was a small empire in modern day Turkey (at the Greek side) which opposed Cyrus the Great of Persia, he won some battles against them and eventually conquered their lands

In case anyone is interested in history ; before going to war with Cyrus the Great of Persia ( Iran) Croesus asked the Oracle at Delphi what the result would be . The Oracle replied that ' a great empire would be destroyed'. Sadly for him C didnt bother to ask which one.

The Caledonians were Celtic soldiers who inhabited what is now Scottland. If you know Latin and history it is no surprise to you that you have found out that Scotland was named Caldonia by the Romans. They were mostly a tribal confederacy but were still, like most Celtics, very feared on the battlefield. Despite them living in Northern - what is today - Britain, they were of Germanic origin and were described as being "... red-haired and of large limbs.". Everyone have a wonderful New Year.

Lydia was possibly the first territory which printed and used coins as money - one legendary king was croesus.
And troy existed for a long time, it was burned down and rebuilt several times
The first silver and/or gold-coins used as money appeared in the 7th or 6th century BC
Apollo, Lydia was a real kingdom at the time of the Rise of the Persian Empire in Anatolia, Asia Minor. The only legendary part about Lydia is that it's King Croessus was the richest man alive on earth at his time. Lydia and the Greek cities of Ionia fell and became Satrapies of the Persian Empire. The Ionian Rebellion was the spark that started the Grecopersian Wars.
Atlantis wasn't swallowed by flooding. It dried out. It's believed by many historians to have existed in the western Sahara, when it was wetter, and was occupied by Mauritanians or Berbers. If we take plato at his word which comes from solons convo which comes from the dynastic Egyptian priests body of knowledge or scripture, it’s definitely in the Atlantic According to them. The dating also makes it likely that the younger dryas catastrophes had something to do with whatever happened to Atlantis.

Caledonia has 2 possiblites:1 as the Scotland as mentioned but also there was the greek caledonia where artemis sent a boar to attack and where Hercules got his second wife.
Lydia was a Asia minor kingdom(modern turkey) which attacked PErsia due to a misnterpreted prophecy.
Just a suggestion for Trojan units:Is it possible to make a handmaidens of Athene Pallas or something like that,due to the exclusivity of it in the city of Illion to only women.
And yes the caledonians were basically people that occupy Scotland mail they were the people north of the wall Hadrian's Wall was known as Caledonia there still Rifts references to Caledonia and quite a few Celtic songs come out of Scotland
