Solar is definitely a great industry. But Exterior Home Remodeling is the way to go. Im the Director of our door to door team and this industry changed my life. Not everyone loves the idea of solar. On the other hand everyone needs a roof, windows, siding, gutters, and doors. Money in both industries but Exterior Home Remodeling is the goat.
Just started with an exterior company selling roofing, siding, decks, gutters as well. Got to agree however the hidden gem is surely crawlspace and attic's. They sell themselves especially with rodent issues.
I’m in solar and definitely agree with what you’re saying however there’s a difference, home remodeling has always been a thing, solar is not, people will grow accustomed to solar the same way they’ve grown accustomed to home remodeling, overtime with everything going electric, clean energy stuff like that, many many many people will go solar just to fit into the “new standard” that’s the whole idea behind it

YES! Always try out different pitches until you find the right one for you. What works for one person might not work for you. If someone says stick to the script and they don't then stop listening to them. I was working for fixed ops and was miserable. The freedom and reward with solar is HUGE!

I'm not in the solar industry anymore because I'm more of the blue collar type of guy, but when I saw "Andy Elliot", I had to watch.

When she asks are you with solar, why not be direct about it. Don't be ashamed about providing solar. The answer to her question is hell yeah I'm with solar. The sales side has become too salesy- I find honest straight forward conversation treating it as a construction project instead of a product off the shelf and endless talk about rates and inflation works the best

This is my first video watch of your channel and I’ve been familiar with Andy and his videos for a little while and a big fan.
To see this man use Andy’s tactics and doing a great job with the lady was amazing.
I was listening instead of actually watching and and around the 5min mark I could hear the upward direction the convo was going, I had to unlock my phone, and see the man presenting and was even more impressed that he was JACKED!!!! Lol Great with the mouthpiece and strong-looking for them to respect him off the rip.

It's not. It's financial. $/watt, you're competing with the power company. I'm three minutes in to his pitch and he still hasn't stopped talking about his pitch. Like broooooooooooo get to the point. Cut the script; knock more doors.
Your missing the tonality, energy and the STARING INTO YOUR CUSTOMERS SOULS when asking those 2 questions.
Haha ya that's not the real world he could definitely work on the tone but you could tell he felt awkward saying it once he uses it 1000 times it'll sound more like Andy and he can get the queue down but having same intensity with everyone won't work half the time homeowners aren't home so you have to talk to the backup decision maker and ease your way in

Don't say "I'm gonna drop off a report." Say I'm going to come sit down with you and go over all the information. I eliminated that from my vocabulary and started making a lot more money.

This pitch started off in the very beginning beating around the bush… You guys said there’s no beating around the bush yet that’s how you begin the entire interaction is with two ridiculous questions.
That being said the rest of the sales process and pitch seemed effective.
Additionally, another piece that a lot of solar salesmen are pitching is that customers will be able to just cash out at the end of the year with all of their savings instead of having a credit with the power company? And that's also not correct. It's simply a credit that will be able to compound over the years.

he's doing an amzing job but i have one thing to say about his body language, you're breaking the buddy stance way to much which makes things a little harder for you but overall you're doing AMAZING!
Yea I also kinda noticed whenever he starts saying “I just got 2 questions” his tone changes but not in a friendly way it’s like the tone of him trying to remember a script . Which any smart consumer will quickly pick up but even then , solar is still the way to go even if it is a sales pitch

One thing I wish he would explain is that you don't eliminate your electricity bill. You still have to pay a fee to switch over to the power grid at night time since there's a good chance he's not selling solar with a battery that's going to hold power overnight. So for example, down here in Florida with FPL, they charge a minimum of $50 and that will probably continue to rise over time as people begin to leave FPL. FPL controls that charge. So essentially every single month you're paying rent to stay on the power grid and be able to use power overnight. Hope that makes sense.
The size of the system offsets whatever their usage is. Day or night. The goal is to do 110% total production so it covers for the connection fee.

I’m in solar and I also knock doors but I don’t white lie my way into a sale. Some of us would rather make just as much money being 100% honest.

11:11 I know your just having fun and joking and i understand making jokes about the homeowner to your knocking partner when they go to grab the Ubill ( as weve all seen some very interesting things/ppl and you only have a minute to get a laugh or comment out before they come back out. with that being said- keep it professional / ethical and remember your putting these videos out to the public, once there posted there out there regardless of you deleting them. Remember that Haitian gentleman could have watched this, and he being from a completely different culture, may have not particularly liked that joke. Someone could take that joke as a borderline … racial joke. Im just giving some future advice from one solar closer to another. So dont overthink it, just keep it in mind in the future. Ive seen ppl get jammed up for less.

Its very Intentional. First off hes facing away from him which makes him feels safer and not view him as a threat. Second thing hes doing is leaning on the wall like that showing the homeowner that hes comfortable, which would makes people draw the conclusion that hes not there to scam them in any way.

This guy makes me cringe, he oversells! Just have a conversation! When the guy said he got a report 2 years ago, just say, oh! Yeah let me send you a new report, do you have an online bill or do you receive them in the mail and start the onboarding. Instead he keeps trying to sell, the guy already is interested in solar!

That's true. I just started d2d solar last week. My problem was that I was reciting my pitch word for word, which made me sound like a robot. The thing is remembering key points and making it a conversation which sounds more natural. I also noticed that cracking jokes and complimenting homeowners really helps as you come off as a more likable person. Everyone likes compliments.
