I'm in that rabbit hole myself right now, it's a serious addiction!
I like seeing how each upgrade affects the overall performance of the sim.
I still giggle whenever I see Rick in that camping chair with the drink holder compared to every other driver in a racing seat... I think that he's gotten the right chair for the job!
A chance to upgrade it could make a new video. Which i think we all want.

Nah, keep the camping chair with the stubby holder so that he can have a drink during the race and the mini fridge full of snacks!

I must say thanks for the content and videos. Previously i would say i was not a fan of the Kelly Racing crew (my bad) but the series of videos (following since the start of the Ford build) that you guys have put out are nothing short of fantiastic and you should give yourselves a bid pat on the back. More importanntly if i was a sponsor there is no other team i would think of to give my money too than Your team. Cheers and keep them coming. From your new fan.

would have to agree with this. i used to love the kelly racing back in the old kmart and hrt days but lost interest with them after that. since these videos have started coming out i have found that respect for them again. down to earth blokes having a red hot crack. can only wish the best of luck to the kelly team in the future and you can be sure ill be on hill watching and supporting them

I think the wheel and pedals will make a big difference .. love that you are so hands on building your rig and even a bit of wiring

Nice work! Rick, just make sure you put the brake factor (in iRacing settings) to 0.
Hey Rick now that have upgraded the pedals and steering you really need to update that timber rig to get the most out of your upgrades, once you go with a aluminium, or steel Rig it will double the feedback and fidelity

Being into sim racing for over 24 years it's great to finally see it explode in popularity.
For some reason most pro drivers don't use full motion rigs, guess that's going to be the next step.

I knew you'd come around Ricko. Sim racing is great fun. iRacing is more than just a computer game.
Well you didn't end up in the upper atmosphere last week so that's a positive! This sim is hard the get a feel for, like anything it takes lots of practice, if you haven't woken up in your rig at 2pm because you have been up all night racing the Euro trash then you are a blow hard :) You'll get there, when you do you will have a ball.
Next upgrade for rick should be an aluminum rig that wood is going to be absorbing so much of the force from the wheel

I’m late to the journey, but so far all i can say is this is awesome work 🎉
Pedals were definitely a good choice to upgrade, if you went with just them alone and kept the g29 wheel I guarantee you’d still be so much faster

If you havnt found someone already, find a wizard on the net with all the good settings for your gear. Just installing irffb and a couple tweaks to your setting file makes a world of difference
Im surprised the direct drive wheel base doesn't tear the whole wooden rig to pieces.

Yep out of all the gear in sim racing a good peddle box is the most n very under rated part. I am now getting a new peddle box for my sim racing then a dd wheel base. Simucube 2 sport can’t wait.

And replace the wood with some 80/40 profile aluminum.

At any track on the Eseries do you rely on volume of sound or even track noise to turn in as well.
So, are we going to see a full motion rig for Rick by the time this is done?
Next upgrade try a VR setup instead of 3 monitor setup it'll be even more realistic
