It’s great to get another aspect of the sport rather than just watch a car go around a track.when I see this particular car racing around I’ll look at it from a whole different perspective knowing how much technical stuff goes into a v8 supercar.i have like many spectators found it a bit boring the last few years but this series of videos has reinstated my enthusiasm.thanks kelly racing for going the extra mile and sharing the journey.
Excellent stuff guys, it's been brilliant to be somewhat involved with how a Supercar comes to life. We see on the news here in the UK that things aren't going too well for some people down there in Australia, but even so, have a good Christmas.

Awesome content no other team has gone as far as this I can see Todd is a million percent proud of his team and loves the engineering side of it, it would be awesome for when either at a test day or just before when you go through with supercars to have the rigs homologated maybe talking with the tech directors of supercars they can tell us what they look for and how they go about things make supercars an open book for us fans
Just out of curiosity your running a big dollar team and doing amazing work but could share an over view of the work shop assembly/track side. Tools boxes what there for in certain spots why ? ( suspenion, engine , body that sort of thing so normal people can understand). Stuff laying about? In the shop and general setup to a decent workshop.? Thanks for bringing us along and balls to the wall next session.

When using a caulking gun, sa your blokes were, I prefer to push the nozzle rather than drag it. That way, the caulking/sealant is pushed into the joints rather than running along the top of the joint. Gives much better penetration.

Think they do it this way so they don't force excess sealant in. Every bit adds up weight wise.
Amazing attention to detail, good work everyone involved! Curious, why do you paint your chassis black? Most teams seem to go with a white colour which I’d have thought would be better for seeing fluid leaks and the like. But the new Mustang and the Nissan you’re converting are both black.

Love to see a X ray of all those areas of welding, just to see how much penetration is there especially all the chrome molly tubing and X axis of all the welds, but thank you Kelly racing for these uploads, and good luck and i hope everyone in Kelly racing has a great X mas and all the best in the new year in 2020. :)

Interesting to see how close the roll hoop is to the skin of the roof itself, and explains why the Supercar Mustang looks like it has the roof off a Volkswagen Beatle....

I'd love to know how much tubes of silicon, weld rods and meters of wiring go into a supercar
This is what Nascar should be, these cars are incredible.
I remember when the v8 supercars were real cars, meaning holden / ford would send a complete shell to those who wanted to race in the series, especially larry perkins in moorabbin, basically sold them aerospace or military grade welding wire and also asked the most important question as far as the roll cages are they using just your standard mild steel to weld the corners of the roll cage sections or chrome molly the same grade as the roll cage, sure enough they even did not understand why the cars were coming back with cracks in the welds of the roll cage, so at least i helped larry perkins use the right grade of welding wire and the company if tullamarine is the company who sullied a lot of the products for so many specialised welding for the V8 supercars ? Thank you Larry Perkins for all the outsourced companies working on V8 supercars and this was during the VT era and now days totaly, so just imagine how much better if FORD/HOLDEN started that series again meaning that they send a shell of a car and then mod it, still Kelly racing is the only one who is explaining things down to the details which ever FORD Mustang would basically have, with the exceptions of DJR, which is really Penske racing, multi billionaire and helping puting FORD back on the no 1 in racing ?

Another great video and as others have said so informative. I wonder if a kilo of extra paint will really matter with the differences in drivers weights and a myriad of other things yet to be fitted and isn't the final ready to race weight the same all round? ballast to make this factor equal? Also shows that running a 50 year old basic boss 302 design block and zero real mustang bits that these cars are zero mustang except badges. Not even a coyote engine.

I just don't know why there isn't one company who makes all the chassis for ford and the other for Holden like isn't this why they designed the car of the Future so it could be all controlled and cheaper
If you need a new chassis call up the company who would make them and they would have one sitting there and send it out ready to go all that would be needed is to add suspension,engine,diff ect the Dunlop series have the same car chassis aswell economies of scale
We did manufacture cars in Australia only 2 years ago where have all these workers gone
just looks like alot of man hours and money for a team to build for one chassis

Hi guys v8 super cars really don't know do they are doing open front chassis design with no torsional strength. A flat floor design that creates no strength at all maybe they and mark scafe should reevaluate there design because it has to many design flaws
They are a space frame chassis as you can see in this video. They have plenty of torsional rigidity from the cross over bar work and other strengthening points. In fact you'll find a supercar is one of the safest race cars in the world.
