Giddha in every village marriages. I have no idea how she is so disconnected from ground realities. Please invite someone who knows village and lives there.

Bhangra and giddha is very well entranged in society colleges have bhangra and giddha competitions. Lots of professiona bhangra, giddha and dhol troupes have big business in weddings and marriages. Even in Delhi most of punjabi wedding have jago and giddha troupes performing. Dr Ranjeet sounded very negative and she has not given any right answer to questions asked. Punjabi culture get promoted in Bollywood. If Punjabi culture is known well throughout India a big contribution has been made by film producer Karan Johar and his uncle Yash Chopra. Both belongs to Punjabi family. See their films you will get to see mostly related to Punjabi family and culture. We already have the great economist Dr Manmohan Singh as PM of India . The list is long . In fact in whole India only Punjabi people , food and culture are loved and respected by most Indians .

Chandhigarh is cosmopolitan. There Hindi English is there. Educated Punjabis speak all three languages fluently. Speaking Punjabi is not considered inferior. City Punjabi is refined. She said in Indian side baisakhi celebration is over since host says it's over in Paki side, which is completely wrong forget Punjab even in delhi it's celebrated very well. When she speaks about DNA she speaks we may have persian or Turkish blood in us, why madam why not, tamil or ahom? She tells the courage of immigration that punjabis have is superior even Gujaratis don't have same this is laughable, Punjab was always under attack and people had to migrate often, it never flourished for trade so people had inclination towards moving to other place, Guj was more safe more rich on trade deals, in-spite of it the cult travelled and did that more than Punjabis driven sheer out of entrepreneurial intent that race is having, there are many such points she talks like more as an ambassador of all goody things of Punjabi culture but to do so, she murder of facts and rational.

There is hell and heaven difference between the culture of Indian Punjab and Pak Punhab. Indian Punjab still maintains the plurality as it was before independence. And, all stay happily there. But look at Pak Punjab. Now, it has negligible to zero non muzlim population. So Pak Punjab lost all the punjabi customs as those are declared " haraam".
Not sure why the Indian guest is uncomfortably digesting this when the host is pushing all non sense.
Indian punjab is wonderful, beautiful and so is the ppl..

Same is in states, like Maharashtra- Marathi, West Bengal - Bengali, Tamilnadu- Tamil, etc.

Consensus of historians says, early Vedic literature (originally transmitted orally in an extremely guarded manner) came about within the area, later ruled by Raja Ranjeet Singh. The Western part of Punjab used the Kharoshthi script during the Buddhist period (approximately 300BCE-300CE). Around 200BCE a sister script, Brahmi, appeared which later took over Kharoshthi by 300CE, especially in the eastern part of Punjab onward to UP.
Although Baba Farid's (1100-1200) work came through oral tradition until Baba Nanak documented it in his Baanis, his education was in Farsi traditions. Farsi script with some extensions to include local sounds later on called Shahmukhi. Just before and during the time of Baba Farid, a variety of scripts from Brahmic family were prevalent. Among them were Śāradā and Lahnda (Western). Baba Nanak most likely wrote his Baani(s) in Lahnda script.
One disappointing thing I found about Shahmukhi and Gurumukhi that they do not support the phonetic of Mahji Punjabi, which is the most prominent dialect of central Punjab. They do cover the Saraiki sounds though. For example Gahta (loss) can be written in Punjabi scripts but the Kahta (also a loss in Mahji) cannot. Readers just assume that a written Gahta (گھاٹا) is a spoken Kahta (کاہٹا). Can someone correct me if I am wrong?

The man who is talking about two different administrative unit he is right. Indian Panjab has been split in to Four administrative units rather.
Panjab, Haryana, Himachal are full fledged States and a uninion territorry called Chandigarh.
Out of the four Haryana and Himachal are predominantly Hindi speaking . At least their lingua franca is Hindi for sure, not Panjabi. (Further they have some small indigenous ethnic groups which have their own native tribal languages pertaining to totally different linguistic families.
So he got it right. The administrative divide has had a major cultural impact on the Old greater Indian Panjab as well .
For example Himachal and Haryana share almost Common folklore , dress, cousine, music with Panjab. and can understand Panjabi Language as well , but unfortunately can't read Gurmukhi .
I'm from Himachal, I can understand spoken Panjabi but can't read written Panjabi . As Gurmukhi is not taught in our Schools.

"How do you do" now please speak and observe yourself by speaking the above greetings in your mother tongue , Bengali, Marwari,Telgu,Tamil, Gujarati , Urdu ,pashtu Sindhi or Punjabi, see the emotional connect .you will enjoy
Emotions can be delivered and feelings are best the more you increase your vocabulary and words you use, the words will bring the best emotions and poetry will take you high ,only because of language and words you use in the situation , mother tongue is the emotional connect..
But if you bring in Greed and selfishness indifferent to others than you are lower on culture side, and other states and people will not accept you ,so you have to raise your humanity score too and if you are loosing on this in modern times, you need back to your roots and read the writings of Bulle Shah,Waris ,Good Punjabi novelists and poetry, you will find your culture and will help you,so know your mother tongue...to live and enjoy culture..
