Basically Jinnah and Pakistan was a brat of the subcontinent that had support from British that rode roughshod on India, Bengalis, Balochistan, Pashtun, Kashmir and Sindh. Had it not been for British support Jinnah was a nobody.
What a surprise that it took 54 years for ONLY SOME Pakistanis to know snd accept the truth. i was part of indian Air Force in 1971 war as an officer and used to laugh at lies and lies emaneting from pak radios and newspspers. In 1965 war as well when i was in IIT and used to notice similar lies oozing out of pak media and that and 1962 war made me join AIR FORCE with some coxing from ELECTRONICS HOD. I hope some wisdome prevails. It is for pak people to get rid of it's hate syndrome ir hate india, hate hindu, hate ahmadiyas, hate bengali, hate barelvi, hate ..... I am around 80 years and done well in many ways. My understanding is lot of hate originates from the roots of islam otherwise why there is so much in middle east against every one including jews, or in Europe, even 9/11. Hindus have faced 1000 years of atrocities under muslims and british but underwent atrocities only for 200 years under British. So what makes HATE such predominant emotions.
In India, the Prime ministers and Presidents have come from different regions of India. This has not happened in Pakistan. The big difference is military in India have been in the barracks while Military in Pakistan was given more importance.
To be Punjabi and to get any lesson or learning are two opposite poles! Infact carelessness, enormous food, bhangrhy, jugatain, mastieyaun, self proclaimed pride and punjabi go together!
It is true... 'Those who do not learn from History are doomed to repeat it.' The Mughal rule began in 1526 with Babur's accession to the throne, and ended with the death of Aurangzeb in 1707. Overall the Mughals ruled northern part of India for approx 181 years and ruined India. The Mughal empire rapidly disintegrated after Aurangzebs death and was replaced by the Maratha Confederacy. At its peak the Maratha empire covered much of South Asia, with a territory of over 2.8 million km² and stretched from Tamil Nadu in the south, to Peshawar & Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan in the north, and Bengal Subah in the east. To understand the rise and prominence of the Marathas lets dig a little deeper : There is NO doubt that the brutal & fanatic Islamic Mughal rule in India faced stiff resistance at different periods from the great RAJPUT warriors, fierce AHOM warriors from Assam & from Punjab the brave SIKH warriors...rightly did the great Hindi Poet Bhushana, who forsook the royal favours of the Mughal court to come over to Shivaji to record his glories, sang :-“काशी की कला जाती, मथुरा की मसजीद बनती, अगर शिवाजी ना होते तो सबकी सुन्नत होती.” meaning : (Had not there been Shivaji, Kashi would have lost its culture,Mathura would have been turned into a mosque and all would have been circumcised.) If not for Shivaji and the Marathas, there would have existed a continuous Islamic belt from Morocco to Indonesia. What addition of 1 billion more adherents to Islam would have done to the world power balance or what would have happened to Indian legacy like yoga, ayurveda, music, art and philosophy, is not difficult to guess…. It is worthwhile examining the 'what if' of Indias history, Aurengzeb, Akbars great great grandson, had embarked on the 'Islamisation' of India. The Marathas, inspired by Shivaji, fought Aurengzeb and saved India from following the fate of Persia. The proof of Maratha victory lies in the fact that Aurangzeb lies buried, not in Lahore /Delhi or Agra, but near Aurangabad in good old Maharashtra... Indian history before Shivaji's advent reads like a chronicle of military disasters. Shivaji changed all that. He used Guerilla Tactics (hit and run) very effectively. Shivaji, as a great warrior & visionary laid a solid foundation such, that after his death in 1680, there was a series of battles fought between Marathas and Mughals from 1681 to 1707 known as 'War of 27 years' and ended with the death of Aurangzeb in 1707, about 2.5 million of Aurangzeb's army were killed during the Mughal-Maratha War of 27 years. The Marathas eventually emerged victorious and this was followed by the phase of rapid expansion of the Maratha Empire for the next 50 years under patronage of Shahu and his appointed Peshwas Baji Rao I and Balaji Baji Rao. Chatrapati Shivaji is also credited for the laying the foundation of the Indian Navy. He appointed Kanoji Angre the chief of the Maratha Navy who fought against the British, Dutch and Portuguese naval interests on the coasts of India during the 18th century and became their greatest enemy on sea, so much was he dreaded that the British and Europeans labeled him a pirate. He was instrumental bringing about a considerable change in Naval Warfare by introducing a Blue-water navy in those times. The Maratha empire reached its peak in summer of 1758 with the conquest of Attock, which is banks of Indus river in Pakistan today*(check Notes below). Maratha Empire's eastern frontier was today’s Orissa, being ruled by Raghuji Bhosale of Nagpur. Maratha armies had also reached upto Murshidabad, but then retreated and settled for tribute from Bengal and control of Orissa. To the south, in 1758, territories upto the fort of Gurramkonda in Kadappah district were held. Also, Tanjore (Thanjavur) was under Marathas, but that was a different line. In 1761, the 3rd battle of PANIPAT war was lost to the Afghans but they RECOVERED quickly like phoenix bird from ashes and within 10 years (during the 1770's) brought the whole of North India in their control under the able leadership of Madhavrao Peshwa. Marathas also comprehensively defeated the Nizam of Hyderabad and kept Hyder Ali- Tipu Sultan of Mysore in serious check. During this phase, Pune, the seat of Peshwas, flourished as a center of Hindu learning and traditions. The Confederacy is also credited for developing many of the nation’s important cities like Pune, Baroda under Gaikwads, Indore under Holkars and Gwalior under Shinde's or Scindia's. Eventually, the Marathas grew stronger and fought the British in three Anglo-Maratha Wars (1775-82, 1803-05, 1817-18), In the First Anglo-Maratha War (1775-1782) the Marathas emerged Victorious. A Vijay Stambh (Victory Pillar) erected to commemorate Maratha victory over British is located at Vadgaon/Wadgaon Maval, close to the city of Pune. The 2nd and 3rd were subsequently lost and British established themselves which was followed by the Uprising of 1857. Thus after a prolonged fight with the Marathas and with the Sikhs in Punjab the British firmly established themselves as the de-facto rulers of India. As mentioned above, the British were technologically superior to the Marathas..and hence they were at an advantage. (-By the way, just for your G.K, Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj is considered today as the 'Father of the Indian Navy'AND apart from Jijabai-mother of Shivaji, the other 2 well known Women personalities emerging from the Maratha Confederacy were Devi AHILYABAI HOLKAR from Indore, Maharani Tarabai and RANI LAXMIBAI of Jhansi also known as Manikarnika. * "Lahore, Multan, Kashmir and other subahs on this side of Attock are under our rule for the most part, and places which have not come under our rule we shall soon bring under us. Ahmad Shah Durrani's son Timur Shah Durrani and Jahan Khan have been pursued by our troops, and their troops completely looted. Both of them have now reached Peshawar with a few broken troops . . . So Ahmad Shah Durrani has returned to Kandahar with some 12-14 thousand broken troops.. Thus all have risen against Ahmad who has lost control over the region. We have decided to extend our rule up to Kandahar." - Raghunathrao's letter to the Maratha Peshwa, 4 May 1758. ---------------- "To the Jats,Gujars,Ahirs and the Jats of 18 khaps or pads (thambas) or the heads of thoks and panchayats, I send my regards. For the defence of religion it is the duty of every hindu to help me in defending the 'country'. Everyone will have to fight for the defence of the country against the coming invasion. From the ninth century the apostates have made this country their stronghold and are ruling over it. There will be no better oppurtunity than this to drive them out. The servant of the hindu religion. - Sadashivrao BHAU, October 1760" - Sadashivrao Bhau's letter to the Jats and other North Indian rulers.
Does anyone in Pakistan aware that Hinduism was born in Pakistan? Also, if it's ok for Pakistan to become an Islamic State why is it not OK for India to become a Hindu State? After all There are 57 Muslim Nations in the world but just 2 Hindu countries. Why this hypocrisy then?
Strange The rest of the world thinks bangla is a sweet & polite language, Tagore earned a noble prize! British scholars often discussed Satajit Roy’s novels …. But thank you sir for putting this spin on it
The Black Hole, Thank You once again for this informative session. Being a follower of 'The Black Hole' and especially Prof Hoodbhoy, I want to comment on the selection of panelists and the moderator. There is no doubt about their caliber, research, and lifelong efforts to fulfill their thirst for knowledge. However, it does not mean everyone has a strong grip or you may say command on all the topics of History. Which was clearly shown by your panelists except Prof Hoodbhoy. Similarly, to become a good speaker, firstly you must be a good listener. During the session, many valid and profound questions were asked by the audience that were ignored or misinterpreted by them. Even the moderator asked about the 'background and current situation in Pakistan', but our respected panelist replied about something else which he crammed at home. Lastly, a moderator must be a moderator, who operates all discussions according to the decided pattern of a session. He also properly receives questions and conveys them to the panel and importantly, tries to address all of them (by managing time and their length). However, today all the departments were not up to the mark. Even during the discussion, I thought thinking: the probably audience had more knowledge and stronger arguments than those who sitting opposite. However, always @pervez_Hoodbhoy fills all the gaps in all sessions. And I hope, some other day, it will again become the topic of discussion. Thank you P.S.: again I do respect all of them.
Pervez sir ko many many many tnks ❤❤❤🇧🇩🇧🇩🇧🇩 Ap hi sabsy true and strong voice uthaya.Apko salam Welcome to Bangladesh sir❤ মহান আল্লাহ তায়ালা আপনাকে জান্নাতুল ফেরদৌস নসিব করুন ।
Its quite clear that Pakistani military establishment has learned absolutely NOTHING from losing Bangladesh and its also very clear that it will inevitably create more Bangladeshs (Balochistan, KP, Sindh & GB) in the future.
Happy to see introspection by intelligentia along with thinkers from cross section of the society in Pakistan on a sensitive subject. Particularly noticeable is cool and level headed discussion by dias as well as audience.
And mind you Bengalis are one of the most intelligent community in our continent, they are super smart and well educated class. At least, for West Bengal, I can vouch for, though I am not too sure about Bangladesh. But given the same geography and common history, one can safely assume that Bengalis living in Bangladesh are equally well read, educated and intelligent class. One can make out from the rapid development and strides taken by Bangladesh after its annexation from Pakistan.
These verses are from the Pandav Gita. Roughly translated with context these lines mean - When Lord Sri Krishna tried to convince Duryodhana to not go fight Pandavas because it was adharma, Duryodhana replied - I know what is the difference between Dharma and Adharma and what is right and wrong. But my problem is just that I don't feel like to do the right thing. I will do what I want. ☝🏻 One can easily corelate this famous quote of Duryodhana from Mahabharat Epic.... which is a perfect example to describe mindset of Pakistani politicians. 😊🙏🏻🙏🏻
After hearing the complete discussion my comments are - that it is understood that Mukti Vahini was a force created of those that were raped, tortured by Pakistan Army . This was not replied by the panel when the query was raised a Lady.
The Pathan Bhai is very right and straight. Actually Pak establishment tried to force an identity on public which actual it is no identity. Even they forced a language of India as national language and killed local languages and aspirations. Indian Kashmiris living much better life than POK Kashmiris. The problem is that no body can speak truth out of fear of Pak Army. They never allow any one to speak truth and corruption of Generals. Bhutoo was a land lord feudal and never honest socialist. He did drama to get votes of poor dramas. He never give off his lands to cultivators mujaras. Best words of man who said Bhuttoo ki karstania. Perfect.
Three Great Books on the Subject "The Blood Telegram: Nixon, Kissinger, and a Forgotten Genocide” by historian Gary J. Bass, "The Cruel Birth of Bangladesh" - By Archer K. Pakistan should learn and move on. 2 nation theory became 3 nation theory. After Balochistan and Sind become independent, it will become 5 nation theory. Pak military has made Pakistan into international beggars and a migraine for the civilized world.
S. Kartar Singh Duggal is Panjabi writer of Pothohar. He was very open mind and his wife is a Muslim lady, sali of known Urdu writer and left activist Sajjad Zahir.( if I am not wrong in the name of Sajjad).
Bangladesh assigned Shyam Benegal to produce biopic on their tallest leader Sheikh Mujibur Rehman. Which released this year. They didn’t go to Hollywood or to Their own filmmakers.
Bengalis were thousands of kilometres away. Pashtuns also consider themselves to be culturally diverse from rest of Pakistan as well as lay claim to large swaths of Pakistani territory. This means existential danger is far from over
I have read critically acclaimed two books on what had happened in Bangladesh formerly East Pakistan during those days. 1. The Blood Telegram 2. 1971 The Global Story of Bangladesh Creation
@Dr.Hoodbhoy and the panelists You have not discussed what was the major cause for the separation of East Pakistan and unending insurgencies in Balochistan and KPK. Pakistan was formed on the basis of 1940 Lahore resolution which is as follows "That geographically contiguous units are demarcated regions which should be constituted, with such territorial readjustments as may be necessary that the areas in which the Muslims are numerically in a majority as in the North Western and Eastern Zones of (British) India should be grouped to constitute ‘independent states’ in which the constituent units should be autonomous and sovereign." Both East Bengal and Balochistan joined Pakistan on the condition of the above resolution of Pakistan being a group of autonomous and sovereign states and not one nation state. If such an entity is run as one nation state, then the largest ethnic group will dominate politically in a democracy and in a military junta or garrison state the ethnicities which dominate the military will also dominate politically, socially, culturally, economically and in every other way to the detriment of other ethnic/cultual/religious/linguistic minorities. There will be push back from those who feel being marginalized and resultant oppression from those who rule the land. The way forward for nations like Pakistan and India is maximum autonomy to the states. Forced centralized rule will eventually lead to balkanization. There's another point that was missing in this discussion. There was no demand for a Bangladesh by the Bengalis. There was a demand for 6 points consisting of maximum autonomy as per the 1940 Lahore resolution but not separate country. The demand for Bangladesh arose when the West Pakistani soldiers launched an unprovoked attack on East Bengal Regiment, East Pakistan Rifles and police forces of East Pakistan during Operation Searchlight. These military and paramilitary were supporting the Pakistan government prior to this attack. They were completely caught by surprise and they did put up some resistance which was crushed by the end of April. This is when these soldiers from East Pakistan military and paramilitary forces regrouped in India as the Mukti Bahini. Someone in the audience asked about the formation of the Mukti Bahini. The East Bengal Regiment played a crucial role in the defense of Lahore during the 1965 war for which it was one of the most decorated regiment in the Pakistan army. East Bengal Regiment was defending West Pakistan during the 1965 war while East Pakistan was left almost completely defenseless. This is one the major reasons that led to the antagonism of East Pakistan towards the west. Today again we see history repeating itself. It was infighting within Pakistan military that led to the breakup of the country in 1971. Today the Pakistan military, society and politics is again divided between East Pakistan and West Pakistan. In 1971, Pakistan economy was strong and it had the support of western and Arab countries. Today Pakistan economy is in the doldrums with even the Arabs turning their back. The only country which is still standing by Pakistan's side is China, a country whose partnership leads to bankruptcy. As if this was not enough, Pakistan is also becoming the ground zero of catastrophic climate change. PS: someone asked what would Pakistan be like if the separation didn't take place. A united Pakistan would at least be an 800 billion dollars economy and it wouldn't need to seek one economic bailout after another.
It’s like a saying ‘counting your chickens before they are hatched’ and ‘keeping all the eggs in one basket’ Pakistan has always been dependent on other superpowers who would come to its rescue in the event of any crisis. Neither China nor America came to its rescue in 1971 war with India. Sadly Pakistan has not learnt from its debacle. It is still looking for support from outside world
Nobody discussed that millions of refugees entered India due to worsening security situation in erstwhile east Pakistani causing immense pressure on Indian economy as the country was itself facing terrible food shortages due to very poor crops. This was the main reason of Indian intervention
A guy asked what lessons should we learn from 1971...But nobody addressed it...Point 1. Who should learn the lessons? People? But the poor collectively turned into a herd. With information hidden, religious passions whiped, they have become incapable of thinking and arriving at an informed opinion. The Islam's conditions of suppressing questioning has killed the natural human will of probing and digging out the truth. The lessons should have been learnt by the elite who were responsible and were at the helm of affairs. But it would have meant ceding space to a civilian supremacy which would have saved Pakistan in the long run. But elite has puts its present temporary interests emanating from greed, over the people and created a propaganda to perpetuate their hold on the resources (not country). Conclusion: Those who matter and those who are responsible and those who hold the baton have refused to learn any lessons. It is simply conflict of interests. Future of Pakistan is being traded for a few properties in London and Europe. Only when Pakistan has bled to death with this body dead, we can expect a new life rising from that dust. Yes, lessons have been learnt, but by Bangelis. They and moved on.
There are only two countries in the world which were created on the basis of religion, i.e., Pakistan and Israel. Pakistan came into being in 1947 and Israel in 1948. Pakistan was fortunate enough from the aspect of natural resources, because it had fertile soil and innumerable rivers flowing through it. But, Israel wasn't so lucky as Pakistan, because it was situated on barren land, a desert to be precise. However, after 75 years of their formation, can both these countries be equated or can there be a comparison between them ? Today, Israel is a first world country and a military & economic power whereas Pakistan is a under-developed third world country & it's PM is going around the world with a ' Begging Bowl ' in hand. Something to think about, isn't it ? 🤔
The civil and military establishment of Pakistan has no intention of reforming Pakistan, nor do they consider Pakistan as their country. Their eyes are on settling in western countries. Make a fortune and move to America.
The first speaker is very honest. I always said that it was selfishness and greed of Bhuttoo who wanted to be PM at any cost, even the separation of East Pakistan. He was biggest liar and manipulator. When Mujib had clear majority then by justice and democracy he would have been PM but he was put into jail and army started cleaning Bengalis.Mr. Sajjid instead of blaming India indirectly, why did not you said a word about injustice meeted out to Bengalis. The jute was best export of Pakistan, produced in Bengal but all money earned was spent in west part. Bhuttoo and his daughter were emotional speakers with a drama. If Gen. bajwa has said that only 32K has surrendered then he was blind and liar. Never expected from him to deny truth.
44:55 These people are so blind in their animosity towards India or Hindus that they even give the example of America to their Pakistanis to live with different languages. There are so many languages in India that there is a saying prevalent here. Water changes every mile, speech changes every four miles. It is said that we are still in identity crisis. Brother, remember one thing, no matter how much you abuse Hindus, Hindu Gods and Goddesses, the day is not far when you yourself will respect them. One day you all will return to your Hindu roots. When Arabic started accepting its pre-Islamic history, gods and goddesses. Open your eyes as soon as possible, otherwise you will get embarrassed while trying to become an Arab. An article was published in MEM Arabic newspaper on 3/12/2023 that Saudi people are accepting pre-Islamic goddesses like: Al-Mannat etc. as their history. What will you all do?? Learn to differentiate between history, religion, culture & DHARM.
You guys failed to mention an important fact. The day Jinnah said Urdu is only language, Bangladeshis started a struggle. In 1962, Sheikh Mujib tried to approach Nehru and ask him to do something about Bangladesh independence. Nehru’s assistant revealed this fact. There are letters regarding this.
The bottom line is that Pakistanis suffered from a complex and sadly still feel so. They have paid a heavy price by loosing its major geographical territory in the form of East Pakistan, now a sovereign independent country by the name of Bangladesh. It’s political masters and establishment, sometimes foes and sometimes friends haven’t learned from its past wrongdoings. And sadly still are exploiting the ground situation to their advantage.
In 1947, Hindus were 41% in Karachi for example.Today this species is non existent and less than 0.5%..Will blackhole deliberate this and analyse it by getting into the root of the problem called Religious extremism in Pakistan where none other than Punjabi Sunni Muslim can survive. No wonder the rape of Bengalis by Punjabi army was the last straw. But no lessons have been learnt and this unidimensional thinking has helped none except Aseem munir & co but has landed the pak economy in a mess through unbelievable increase in poverty last six years.Hate is the currency to be encashed in Pindinomics.
Good discussions one point missed in the discussion is that the brutal crackdown on innocent people's led to lot of refugees fleeing to india some millions that is the reason India were forced to Intervene
Unfortunately conclsuion of this discussion is NO LESSONS LEARNED. Even disucssion on Balochistan Gilgit Baltistan is only very limited with restrictions. Else 90% of the focus should have been this
Partition was a mistake and one of the biggest Blunder.Muslim League won election with the help of British. In 1946 election, there was no universal franchise. Not all common people had right to vote. The election was for the upper class. That's why they won.If all common people got right to vote and vote was held properly, then Muslim League would face a great loss.Their demands of partition wouldn't get much attention and no communal violence would have happened. Then in 1947,We all would got Secular and Democratic United India.
All over the world the concept of Muslim brotherhood doesn’t seem to be working and it can’t because before the advert of modern transport people were limited to a small area and had their own culture, they didn’t mingle much with other communities rather one community was prejudices against the other on the basis of language, life style, food habits attire etc.for millennia. So it is illogical to hope that a common religion can thread them together, it can’t.In Canada, America people still talk about their particular ancestry like British, French, German, Spanish etc.though most of them are Christian or atheist. I wonder what Muslims would achieve as they dream of Gajwa hind ? The concept of conversion or debate on religion is unfortunate as it is creating hurt and hurdles in the progress of humanity. Religion should be private and personal matter and dealt with respect for fellow beings. My parents lived in Pakistan before partition and lost many of their loved ones. Very unfortunate. When I see Pakistani Drama I can relate to them easily because we had common culture.
1) It is ironic that 1971 is used by minorities as an example to suppress the majority Punjabi mandate in Pakistan, when it was the same refusal to recognize Bengali majority that led to the fall of Dhaka. India is successful because the minorities there know their true place, and if they start to get violent, the majority knows how to keep show them their place instead of appeasing them. 2) One lesson that was taught in 1971 but not learned until 2008 was to never have a non-Punjabi anywhere near the top leadership of armed forces. We lost Bangladesh due to Pashtuns Yahya Khan and AAK Niazi who surrendered to Jhelum-born Punjabi Jagjit Arora. Pashtuns Akbar Khan, Ayub Khan and Yahya Khan fought three wars with India, and Muhajir Musharraf fought Kargil war with India. Thankfully, when India tried its shenanigans again on 27 Feb 2019, a Punjabi was in charge. 3) The minority needs to accept the mandate of the majority instead of crying rigging etc. Before 1971, Army Chief Yahya Khan from Pashtuns who formed only 7% of the population and politician Bhutto from Sindhis who formed 7% of population and 27% of mandate refused to accept Bengali population of and mandate of 53%.
Looks like some educated people accept the truth behind reasons for formation of Bangladesh, but from the statement of Bajwa, it is clear that their army has learned nothing.
Pakistan and India (Bangladesh as well today) had the same problem in 1947. Who is an Indian. India rejected religion based narrative. India supported “Mukti Bahini” purely out of “humanitarian crisis”. India today is again the ONLY “previously” Akhand Bharat 🇮🇳 ideology. India have about as many Muslims in India as Pakistan. And India definitely have more Muslims in India than Bangladesh. We have always lived the reality. We value it and encourage it. But not at our “expense”. Pakistan of today and Bangladesh of today have sold out Muslims of India. It’s India that is keeping the Muslim voices alive and kicking. Indian Muslims are the safest, most privileged and Loud Voices.
I am not sure why Pakistan is still obsessed with BENGAL ( a nation of thousands of years ). Bengal gave you a political party (Muslim League) and a homeland (Pakistan, artificial nation) and now try to remain united. Unhindered arrogance of Punjabis will pave the way of separation of Balochistan.
Let me tell you what Pakstan learned from 1971 👉🏽 If you accuse your neighbor of doing genocide inside their part of country, then world will believe you ! And that way you can break your neighbor country and make that part independent 😅 That’s what Pakstan is trying in J&K😂😂
Pakistan is facing the identity crisis from day one and has not learned anything from multiple failures. It will not surprise me if the centrifugal forces break it up in three or four pieces. In the end Pakistani Punjab will still continue on the same path. Pakistan's propensity for self-destruction is beyond limit...
First of all big NO. Reason very simple, because we never took this shocking incident as a lesson, we accepted this as an episode. When accepted this as an episode it mean you have digested in casual way because episode happened as routine matter in life. Lesson always consider to learn to find the negative and positive. Keeping in mind to kill the negativity in ourselves for a better results in future. Our West Pakistani’s ego destroyed this nation. Which is no more a nation but the den of corrupt groups divided in parts and ruling 28 crier.
Bangladesh hasn't forgotten 1971.Happy Victory day 16th December.🙏🌹🇧🇩

Yeah a random account on UA-cam says they were in IAF in 1971, and we're supposed to believe their shit #SeemsLegit
All speaker are putting religion in front, but not elaborating socialist society .Only Shaqil Chodhri is speaking about ground reality 😮

Nepal bhi naam ka hindu hai
Strange
The rest of the world thinks bangla is a sweet & polite language, Tagore earned a noble prize! British scholars often discussed Satajit Roy’s novels ….
But thank you sir for putting this spin on it
Dr.hoodboy is great intellectual, sakil chaudry is brilliant and very practical hatsoff for both best wishes from india👍
The simple, honest and straight forward answer to the question posed by the title is, 'NO', not at all, now or ever.
Shukriya. I am a regular listener from chennai.

It’s shocking to hear that even after 75 years, Pakistan is still facing identity crisis
A very intellectual, informative and frank discussion on the channel. A rarity. Thanks for the panelists.
Did Pakistan apologise and pay reparations to Bangladesh for the largest genocide of 30 Lakh Bengalis in 1971?
Pathans were the only Muslim community, who voted against the partition in 1946.
Thank you
P.S.: again I do respect all of them.
Pervez sir ko many many many tnks ❤❤❤🇧🇩🇧🇩🇧🇩
Ap hi sabsy true and strong voice uthaya.Apko salam
Welcome to Bangladesh sir❤

Extremely sensible discussion. Enlightened talks
Its quite clear that Pakistani military establishment has learned absolutely NOTHING from losing Bangladesh and its also very clear that it will inevitably create more Bangladeshs (Balochistan, KP, Sindh & GB) in the future.
Shakil Chaudhary is brilliant. The Sharmila Bose in Karachi 25:25 statement should shame these generals and army boys!
Dr. Hoodbhoy speaks honestly and frankly. The majority in Pakistan does not like the honest truth.

One of the best in the audience is this young gentleman.

This was not replied by the panel when the query was raised a Lady.
feeling very bad at separation of pakistan
but celebrating separation of india
kudos to intellectual of pakistan
Awesome analysis. Pleasure to watch.
Minorities are still oppressed in Bangladesh. It never stopped.
1:00:51 These next 5 mins stunned me! Awesome!
Perfect.
Very nice and educational talk.
V good topics. This sort of discussion is only possible in Black Hole.
Bahut Wadhiya🙏🙏
Three Great Books on the Subject
"The Blood Telegram: Nixon, Kissinger, and a Forgotten Genocide” by historian Gary J. Bass,
"The Cruel Birth of Bangladesh" - By Archer K. Blood
"The Vortex :A True Story of History’s Deadliest Storm, an Unspeakable War, and Liberation"

Love the show
Lots of respect and love from rajasthan 🇮🇳 india
Bangladesh assigned Shyam Benegal to produce biopic on their tallest leader Sheikh Mujibur Rehman. Which released this year.
They didn’t go to Hollywood or to Their own filmmakers.
Bengalis were thousands of kilometres away. Pashtuns also consider themselves to be culturally diverse from rest of Pakistan as well as lay claim to large swaths of Pakistani territory. This means existential danger is far from over
I have read critically acclaimed two books on what had happened in Bangladesh formerly East Pakistan during those days.
1. The Blood Telegram
2. 1971 The Global Story of Bangladesh Creation
Yes the Pakistani’s should read the book ‘ The Blood Telegram ‘ by Gary J. Bass.
@Dr.Hoodbhoy and the panelists
You have not discussed what was the major cause for the separation of East Pakistan and unending insurgencies in Balochistan and KPK.
Pakistan was formed on the basis of 1940 Lahore resolution which is as follows
"That geographically contiguous units are demarcated regions which should be constituted, with such territorial readjustments as may be necessary that the areas in which the Muslims are numerically in a majority as in the North Western and Eastern Zones of (British) India should be grouped to constitute ‘independent states’ in which the constituent units should be autonomous and sovereign."
Both East Bengal and Balochistan joined Pakistan on the condition of the above resolution of Pakistan being a group of autonomous and sovereign states and not one nation state.
Thank you Jinnah
It’s like a saying ‘counting your chickens before they are hatched’ and ‘keeping all the eggs in one basket’ Pakistan has always been dependent on other superpowers who would come to its rescue in the event of any crisis. Neither China nor America came to its rescue in 1971 war with India. Sadly Pakistan has not learnt from its debacle. It is still looking for support from outside world
All wise talk. Nothing will happen. MUNNA BHAI LAGE RAHO. Talk coming next jung with India.
Nobody discussed that millions of refugees entered India due to worsening security situation in erstwhile east Pakistani causing immense pressure on Indian economy as the country was itself facing terrible food shortages due to very poor crops. This was the main reason of Indian intervention
Shakil choudhari ji is tru journalist. 🙏🙏
93000 pakistani soldiers are surrendered that time and that's tru history.

Supposedly Kissinger gave green light to Zia.
Shakil choudhary is only one who speak frankly
Ye Discussion Se Samaj Aa Gya Ki Kuch Nhi Sikha Inhone.
Yes we have learnt from 1971 " repeat transmission"
93000 surrendered 🤭🤭
Partition not only created Two Countries. Direct attack on Good Human Relationships
Soch abhi waisa hi hai pak ka kuch badla nehi, jab Tak pak pura tukre hi kar bhikar na Jaye soch badlega nehi
2026 gilgit and Balochistan bhi tu kar ek india ka integral part ho jayega
Suppression of local languages and minorities is the biggest blunder by the Pakistani state.
The civil and military establishment of Pakistan has no intention of reforming Pakistan, nor do they consider Pakistan as their country. Their eyes are on settling in western countries. Make a fortune and move to America.
I think break up of Pakistan was natural as the Bengalis are so different from the Punjabis. But partition was not natural.
Real answer - NO
Biggest surrender..... sun k maza aa jata hai..... Indian Aemy we are proud of you....

The purpose of this meet for more than an hour is lost when the question of a person from Gilgit Baltistan at 1:01:15 is not answered.
PARTITION. OF. INDIA
WAS. THE
WRONG. IDEA.
JINNAH. WAS. A. BRITISH. AGENT. 😮😂
The lesson learnt is India is your dad.
You guys should watch this movie Sam Bhadur
Else 90% of the focus should have been this
After watching this conversation. I did understood what was the problem behind pakistans failure😄😜
Collective wisdom of 72 sects ? ☝️☝️😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Pakistan should consider direct democracy
Shakeel sahb great intelectual
Pakistani leaders & Army must said true to their citizens......
Joy Bangla 💪🏻👍🏻
Galti manoge to age galti age nahi hogi

How Many Wars did pakistan win😂
I am not sure why Pakistan is still obsessed with BENGAL ( a nation of thousands of years ). Bengal gave you a political party (Muslim League) and a homeland (Pakistan, artificial nation) and now try to remain united. Unhindered arrogance of Punjabis will pave the way of separation of Balochistan.
Two nation theory finally ended with three nations.
Let me tell you what Pakstan learned from 1971 👉🏽 If you accuse your neighbor of doing genocide inside their part of country, then world will believe you ! And that way you can break your neighbor country and make that part independent 😅
That’s what Pakstan is trying in J&K😂😂
only Religion can not be the foundation of a nation. The formation of Pakistan was just one point agenda of Jinna.
21-22 November nahi 3 December ko Indian army ne operations start kia tha aur 16 December ko pakistan army ne surrender ker dia (13 day war)
As enlightened a space as yours should not have plastic single use bottled water.
But good part is that there is open and free and frank debate on pakistan.
Do Bangladeshis have much better income, education, quality of life and health than Punjabis, Sindhis, Balochis and Pushtuns ?
Yes we have learned by shedding off our part of land we can have more money for corruption n corrupt power.
