I am indian and I am consumer of intellectuality and I found this channel very helpful,,,thank you
I agree
What a nice programme ❤❤❤❤❤
"498 out of 500 comments were from Indians"..... is a true statement. I have been noticing that any sensible Pakistani is folloed much more by Indians than Pakistanis.
Some of the social insights are so eye opener. As long as society is dominated by religious leaders the progress is very much questionable. Though we are seeing religious extremism in India but that is reactive attitude against Pakistan. We would love to see upliftment of Pakistani society which in turn will calm down attitude amongs neighbors of Pakistan.
Against Pakistan and previous government impisement policy n corruption
Sunil ji, you said right. But we need to alert for not converting our Indian society hardcore religious like Paskistani society
Loved the lecture!!! 🇮🇳🇮🇳
Wonderful lecture sir..

OMG just 3k views , as an INDIAN i will also teach critical thinking in my academy from next session thanks sir.
Low subscribers reflects that what we want to see on social media. I found this channel very helpful and informative. Everyone should join for character building and improved thinking. Good initiative by Dr. Parvez Hoodbhoy.
Thank you very much for bringing such kind of versatile teacher, it’s amazing to listening him
Dr P H sir, so proud of you 👍
Nice step by you the Balck hole
As an indian 🇮🇳 appreciate it 😊
محترم آپ کی گفتگو کو کافی جہتوں سے ڈسکس کیا جا سکتا ہے. لیکن آپ کو گفتگو کے دوران درست طریقے سے پانی پینے کی مشق کرنی چاہیے.
I was very pleased to see Shakil Chowdhari saheb in the audience. I a big fan of him too.
بلی کا رستہ کاٹنا یا آنکھوں کا پھڑکنا، ان کو عقائد نہیں کہتے ۔یہ توہمات ہیں ۔
I am surprised that a supposed intellectual like him is talking such nonsense.
First, competition is necessary in any field - otherwise how you are gonna decide the level of proficiency/expertise? The idea of equality is as harmful in Education as it is with regards to Economics. Not everything what the West or Scandinavia does, is right or good or even sensible. Then we will give jobs in the field and decide teachers based on a lucky draw!
You can argue for equality between fields for the most part but not for students in a particular field.
Second, this idea of pursuing your passions and desires, is a utterly nonsensical liberal utopian idiocy. First, the passions and desires do not remain permanent throughout life - they can change. Second, there is nothing wrong with parents and children going into fields where the jobs are. Infact, it is plain and total common sense! It is just a reflection of them wanting to serve the needs of society. I mean, if the 90% population find passion in breaking stones, they can do it their all life if they want, but they are not gonna earn any money for it, however good they are in it.
44:40 This situation, getting up to PhD, is a result of lack of job opportunities, then how one can get practical experience.
So create job opportunities in industry by promoting industrialization not real estate ventures only.
Why Pakistan not take pride in our common indian civilisation. This will both our countries take pride in eachothers acheivements instead of jealously degrading eachother. India and pakistan can take joint pride then. Eg Amarica ,Canada or Britain Australia
Does a Christian in Indian subcontinent consider any European big shot as their hero? Then just why and how can you consider invaders as hero. What religion they belonged to or you belong to now, how is that relevant?
Awesome lecture....most useful youtubechannel of pakistan 🇵🇰
Doctor Saheb, bahut accha laga. Kindly keep the good work going.
Love you and all the speakers who come to The Black Hole.
We should endeavor to make such versatile personalities our heroes rather than the so-called Ghori and Qasim. lot of respect sir.
I would love to see these thought provoking debates, discussions & lectures.. Thanks Parvezji for this initiative. We respect you...
Nice ..vichar rakhana aur us vichar ko samjhana hi sayad kathin hota hai kisi bhi intellectual ke liye par ye disscusion ak najariya deta hai ki hame kis tarah un muddo pr sochana jo hamare subconscious me culturally ja chuke hai 👍👍
GREAT PRESENTATION WITH POSITIVE APPROACH. HE DOES NOT EXPECT ANYTHING FROM PAKISTANI GOVERMENT AFTER LOT OF EFFORT BUT STILL HE EXPECT SOMETHING FROM SOME PAKISTANI PEOPLE TO CHANGE MINDSET WITH SMALL CULTURAL CHANGE.

Nice quote
You are insane if you think that you can change people's minds through coercion. You can create dissemblers through coercion.
there good, bad and society, good can become bad and bad become and society is society, problem with pakistan is that neither good nor bad and never been society,a persian poem fits perfectly on pakistan.

How is it possible to talk of "critical thinking" when the students in universities have never made themselves familiar with more than one or two books? In a book "Beyond Belief", the revolutionaries---educated in London---had been immersed in books by African revolutionaries and Marxist manifestos. The writer Naipaul observes that, being from Pakistan, they hadn't taken the time to read books by 19th century writers like Ivan Turgenev. A book like "Fathers and Sons" could had made more sense to these revolutionaries since a feudal background of the Russian book would have been more relevant. The problem is not the absence of critical thinking. The problem is the absence of intellectual life. Since there has never been an intellectual life, there is an absence of vigor. Even a good teacher is not going to go very far with the students with a dismal background. Those students, with little learning, reached a ghastly end in the Naipaul's book.
He is the first guest I have seen talking about patents and innovation. Unfortunately pakistan has not signed the PCT treaty even now whereas even GCC is member. India challenged some portions of GATT and even changed its law way back in 1970 to incentivse pharma industry and the result is here to see. Pranab mukerjee was the commerce minister at the time of signing GATT and there was lot of opposition by Left, but India went ahead and signed the treaty and we are reaping the benefits.India has introduced a specific section in its patent law in 2005 that blocks western monopoly on evergreening of patents. now many countries are introducing the law. I think pakistan needs to join mainstream of world if it want to develop
Living in an Islamic society it is dangerous to express your critical thoughts. If I teach critical thinking to my son and he goes ahead and expresses his new critical ideas about society and religion in the open, I will be terribly scared about his safety.
Either I leave this society are I don’t teach critical thinking. It is safe to flow with the mainstream, even if it is all idiocy.
Sir, you have amazing observations mostly. I wasn't expecting a Pakistani teacher has so much in depth knowledge. My view is raising questions, challenging status quo, solving the problem you see around you is the key to progress.
Insular
What do you mean by you were not "expecting a Pakistani teacher has so much in depth knowledge."??? You realize it's insulting?
@@aishasiddiqa2902 as i understand about islam, Quran forbids to accept anything other than what is written in it. Anyone going against Quran is mated with lethal and gruesome attacks. So, Pakistan being an Islamic state, I wasn't expecting Pakistan govt would allow such studies. That's the reason I got this as a pleasant surprise.
@@skagraw2 idk how to answer you bhai but Pakistan main religion main bhi milawat kar di hai. Do you know it’s in Islam that one should also look/learn about other religions? Kon follow karta hai isko? Our problem is lack of education. Do you know what I used to do in madras when my mom would send me to learn Quran and it was only for an hour or so? Wash his dishes lol and I never got to finish Quran but at home, I was taught to respect everyone regardless of their religion/culture or how they look.
I also have a lot of questions when it comes to Islam and that doesn’t make me a bad Muslim but how many Muslims are following the good things that Islam teaches them? And no, not every Pakistani is sent to Madras for education.
@@aishasiddiqa2902 hmm... I don't buy milawat in Islam theory. Yes, it is possible some Muslims may not follow all the rules, all the time. You may be allowed to learn culture and religion but only to ensure you either kill or convert them.
Great lecture!
Islam neither gives the freedom to think nor the freedom to express. If Islam gives these two key freedoms, it will get hit for a six. And unless we have these two critical and basic intellectual freedoms there is no way to be among the leading nations of the world.
With due respect, such an educated guy, and he is giving us an ambiguous talk, revolving around atheism in disguise. Critical thinking, if you ask me, is a skill acquired through knowledge, experience, observations, failures, timely success, etc. This guy should have informed us about the education system producing zombies; nevertheless, he diverted it to faith and religion in the education system.
Well, If a child fails, it's the failure of the institution is a layered question; There are many deep questions that need to be asked. One of them is that if you find a student not doing well in the class, it is the responsibility of the teacher to inform the academic supervisor who should share it with the principal who should compare notes with parents to figure out what the reason is behind this. If the child is just willing not to study, sick, and any other cause, it should be removed through proper planning. Then there is, I think, no point that a student can be failed academically. This is just one simple example of something that is doable at the beginning, which is to a large extent impossible as schools intend to pass the children no matter what way is taken.
I don't think schools can teach us; I have seen doctors opting for home-schooling for their children in other countries, and this is my personal experience. Learning comes when someone wants to curiously learn, to voluntarily visit the school, and many more like these. This is a vicious circle
when it comes to finding solutions. What I learned in school never helped me but the self-learning I have been doing assisted me a lot. By the time I finished the highest degree, I came to know I have been swindled. This can help, according to my knowledge, qualify for the job interview, nothing else. However, what worked for me was the self-studied knowledge and experience gained on a personal level.
Thank you for reading. I might be amiss; I am open to other notions.
Good to read
Very eye opening, very good lecture 🙏🙏We lndians should learn from him 👍👍
Educational system in pakistan is the worst. I do not know about the system of other provinces of pakistan but in Balochistan still in govt schools till metric all the subjects are in urdu language except english subject physics, chemistry, bio, math all are in urdu language but in colleges suddenly all the subject change into english language. Which is very difficult for students to learn science or math in such an advance english language. And the fact till the master degree students do not know what is his/her professional career. Till metric bio, chemistry, math, physics compulsory and there are no concept of arts, or IT, commerce education. Suddenly in colleges/universities all subjects divided in different fields....
Graffiti on the black board is always creative. Kudos to the artist.
Unless and until pakistanis realize that islam is the problem, nothing will change and with 50% literacy and a huge number of students in madrasa and the entire society already radicalized, I don't see that happening
Don't agree with the competition part. The primary purpose of schools in underdeveloped countries should be to create individuals who can quickly start exporting their skills to rich country or can migrate to other countries on the basis of their skills. Pakistanis don't stand a chance in both since our graduates aren't as competitive as Indians or Chinese.
There is no hope of changes in sight in our beloved country but one thing is for sure, the same poison of being holy is now being spread in schools and universities in Europe by the same people.
There is a cultural shift in educated Hindus in India. Today of you'll talk about Manusmriti to an educated Hindu who follows Vedanta philosophy he/she will quickly try to disown Manusmriti. Hindus are slowly trying to distant themselves from caste system.

@Syedbakeruddin Bekar your surname says bekar what more can I say !! Lol 😂
i think your experiance is the urban problem and you should do research on the rural problem . i think pakistan have to develope the rular economy . pakistan will have to progress in agriculture and related economy . first you have self sufficient in food . the result of expatriate money in the city made the politician and beuracracy rich and resulted in hollow economy of country . china first develope his agri/economy and the america / china policy help for the gdp increase of china . same is with india . we have miss the boat you have to go back. keep think ing on these
Do have a difference of opinion , but respect others' opinions also. Very less useful content, mostly wastage of time.
WE HAVE TO TEACH CHILDREN WHEN THEY ARE BORN THAT THEY ARE GOING TO DIE ONE DAY SO THAT THEY ARE NOT AFRAID OF DEATH AND KNOW THAT THIS WORLD IS TEMPORARY, IF YOU DO NOT TEACH THIS TO YOUR CHILDREN THEN THEY WILL SUFFER IMMENSELY SPIRITUALLY
Absolutely outstanding 👏. A breath of fresh air in such a suffocating environment of Pakistan. Well done The Black hole 🕳.
Wonderful conversation... worth listening
One of my school friends is running a school on the same system and its name is Munni international school..
For the first time I think i wasted my half an hour on this channel. Other videos of the same channel were really useful.
Very insightful. I belong to rural area of Sindh but I am feeling a change in my thinking religiously and culturally.

Sir Hoodbhoy I'm highly indebted to you for providing a platform for the intellectually blinds like us to learn, groom, think critically and come out of cages.
Wishing you good health and long life so that you can carry on enlightening the critically paralyzed and stereotypical minds.

I did not gain anything from this video. All the things which are mentioned in the video, are absolutely followed in each Indian home, and if you call any parent from any Indian home and inform him/her about these things then he would start yawning. Nothing intellectually stimulating.

So naive to say how any school can exist without playgrounds. Bhai mere Pakistan is unique country where we have built schools without teachers, and your are crying about not having playgrounds in school.
Excellent discussion. Thoroughly enjoyed it. I think every country should have parenting schools where would be parents should undergo training how to groom their still unborn kid(s). Apart from this, the religious education and religious rituals should be age restricted. We must understand that praising God shouldn't be 24 hrs affair. A few minutes of our chosen period in 24 hrs should be enough for that.
That question regarding people on the other side of the line was one of the most important ones which needs serious deliberation.
Fantastic interaction and thought provoking ,,Even i am happy that i could see Shakhil Choudhary Sir in the questionnaire,,
