- Resident Evil, known in Japan as Biohazard, is a Japanese horror video game series and media franchise created by Capcom. It consists of survival horror, third-person shooter, and first-person shooter games. The franchise has expanded into a live-action film series, animated films, television series, comic books, novels, audio dramas, and other media and merchandise.
The first Resident Evil was created by Shinji Mikami and Tokuro Fujiwara and released for the PlayStation in 1996. It is credited for defining the survival horror genre and returning zombies to popular culture. With Resident Evil 4 (2005), the franchise shifted to more dynamic shooting action; it influenced the evolution of the survival horror and third-person genres, popularizing the "over-the-shoulder" third-person view. Resident Evil 7: Biohazard (2017) moved the series to a first-person perspective.

When do you think the demo will come out?
honestly it sucks they removed Krauser and replaced him with Luis imo but that they allow Ashley to hide in safe rooms and have a segment where she can fight back makes up for it but i am counting towards 1 thing the U3 boss fight with "It' It should keep you busy
How about the blob moster in the village 🤔 that will be scary and cool
Is the Leon in the new re4 remake the same skin as the Leon in re2 remake just older?
Hello Rapid! My name is Otabek, I'm from Uzbekistan. I wanna ask you, can I take ideas from your videos and shoot similar videos in Russian?
I doubt they'd cut Krauser, he was basically the catalyst to the events of the game. He was the one that took Ashley to begin with
I wouldn’t mind it too much tbh his inclusion doesn’t really add too much
the leak that claimed that was wrong with everything it stated so far from ashley having jeans instead of a skirt and that there would be a Re2R update in mid may that would add a new document to RE2r
They can just have Luis do it this time
It's a retelling so don't go in expecting the re4 you love cause you ain't getting that you are getting a completely new game with re4 elements.
@@kaidosleftnut5830 well duh, but the leak was wrong on various occasions so why pay attention to it
People give Ashley a hard time, when In fact she's one of the least obnoxious escort NPCs In gaming:
- She follows Leon around around his pace
- She ducks when you aim at her direction, to avoid making you accidentally shoot her while aiming at an enemy
- She gets behind Leon when she's following you and you aim
- You can make her hide on certain places
It's what It said in the video if it's true
The only annoying level she's in is the one where she has to pull the two levers to cross the water in the castle, and you have to snipe the cultists to keep her safe while they also come for you, that's just annoying.
I wish she knew how to use ladders though
It's not the mechanics that people were bothered by, it was her PERSONALITY 🤷
@@philliplamb2761 What are you talking about? She had a *BALLISTIC* personality.
Why have they been obsessed with these stalking enemies? One of the things I liked about RE4 is being able to look around for hidden stuff (Medallions, treasures, etc.). I don't want to be trying to find hidden shit with some dude constantly breathing down my neck
because Mr.X did a funni and spawned huge amounts of positive exposure. Soooo, stalker = dollar signs.
Also the dbd franchise, and Friday The 13th game
yes I hate stupid boss dudes killing me every 4 seconds ..... why the hell is Capcom adding it 😕
Literally in the RE 2 remake I never wanted to explore anything because Mr. X would be chasing me down which forced me to just continue the story and never relax look for cool stuff
@@blastedpotato5133 exactly! That's what I am saying... The enemy boss breathing down our necks really takes out the immersion and way for us to explore and look for stuff..😕
Honestly, this is one of the few games where I feel everything should be left the hell alone. I’m hoping that they don’t add these changes. Although the stalker chasing you around the castle is not such a bad idea. Salazar‘s henchmen were pretty useless as they just stood there to look intimidating lol.
Ty yeah maybe add some new monsters areas but do not cut it like RE 3 where Complete sections cut entirely. Raccoon City Park, Graveyard, City Hall, Press Office, The Clock Tower, and the Dead Factory have been cut And Gravedigger Brainsuckers etc where cut and the Licker Nemesis was terrible 3rd form for him i would not have cared but most chase scenes where cut cause they rushed it. just like 2 but 3 was way worst a remake should look like 1 and zero everything there and more added :)
@Soviet Snow Base the stalker enemies are some of the best parts of the game lmfao, Mr X, Jack Baker etc it’s what kept the game tense and interesting
Stalker enemies are lazy game design at this point. There are so many more mechanics that are easy to implement and way more fun.
@Ash I didn't play the re3 remake, so I can see it becoming annoying after a while. In the RE2 remake I feel they didn't overdue it at least.
@@rpblackout743 I disagree Mr X is arguably one of the best and most iconic parts about RE2 and also how is it lazy, what you’d rather basic horde enemies instead of an actual threat?
Cutting out Krauser sounds ridiculous
He was one of the most memorable fights from the game besides I’m pretty sure he’s the one character people want to see expanded upon
Ikr? Capcom is getting ridiculous every year this remake will be another re3 remake i'm feeling it
As long as its a good game I don't mind them cutting out krauser🤔, i think it depends on the taste of each person.
Cutting memorable moments from the original? Yeah exactly what they did for Re2 aznd Re3 remake, seems legit to me.
It's probably fake as Krauser was literally the reason the game happened
Not me personally. I felt like Krauser was just fluff to make the game longer and was unnessesary when I first play RE 4.
Ashleys Ai was fine to begin with. She stayed safely behind Leon out of the way 95% of the time.
Honestly I agree. Her AI wasn’t that bad in the original
Literally and I thought it was cool she had her own health bar on top of getting grabbed by enemies, like it really felt like you tryna save someone's daughter, a lil annoying but that's the mission bro
@@RapidCrafter You must not have played the same game that I did lol how about the part where you have to tell her to turn the crank while constant enemies are surrounding you/her. It took me hours to beat that one part on Professional mode because she wouldn't listen to my commands and she kept getting grabbed
@@eddykaye8217 that part of the game is wicked fun! So tense and scary. Gotta rapidly switch from close combat to sniping and trying to track so many enemies all over. Perfect balance of action hero and horror movie.
@@salvatronprime9882 so basically you didn't play the game lmao because absolutely nobody that did thinks this.
Krauser in mercenaries was incredibly fun to play since he was op as hell and was a great power fantasy character. Sad to see him go :( Although, if Louis is gonna get infected and turn into a monster, maybe he will have some powers similar to Krauser's.
Or they could keep krauser since he was the only reason they where able to kidnap Ashley and add more like the Luis Monster like the Remake of 1 and zero keep everything and tha add mor thats a true remake. Not the reimagined RE 2 and 3 where they cut 8 areas just from 3 monsters from both and just well they cut alot! even Bosses Grave Digger Super Tyrant( cause lest face it that half dead mister x was not a super tyrant. Bloodsuckers Gamma and beta and Alphas hunters! where replace with Gamma chickens which was Gamma 2.o or something the monster was cool but they coulda added new with the old. The Licker Nemesis Could have just been a Suped up super liker like the one from 2 who was a mini boss and Than Baby G boss. An Ivys where cut not the plant zombies actual Ivys moths giant spiders and crows and so much more:)
"We're cutting this, this, and this..." is EXACTLY what I was afraid I'd hear when they announced a remake of this game.
When the original is like one of the most highly acclaimed in the entire RE series... it seems like a no-brainer to only add, and not subtract... but ya know... Capcom just can't fucking help themselves.
It's like in VII where you were amazed that the series seemed to take a step back in the right direction, focusing more on the horror element of "survival horror", and with the cancellation of Silent Hills you could see RE was right there, swooping in for the save... I mean it was so fucking obvious, you would have had to be an idiot to fuck it up...
But Capcom was like, "Ya know... we've spent a good amount of time crafting a truly terrifying atmosphere, and characters... what if we just now threw in this run-n-gun boat section where you're just blasting enemies with a machine gun... like in the last game?"
Fuck me, dude... this is one of my all-time favorite games, and I just really think Capcom is going to blow it...
The original still exists, on 500 platforms. You can always play it.
I'm personally very excited for a fresh version.
@@capt_howdy yeah... Why would people want to pay 60-70$ to play the exact same fucking game from 15+ years ago? It's a remake, not a remaster. They won't delete the original, you can still play it for the 10000000th time
@@capt_howdy Totally!
@@alejojandro21 but i want to play the original with current graphics
@@capt_howdy yes the original still exists. That is a surprise to no one. Why can't the people bringing this up understand that the changes from RE1 to RE1 Remake is much better than the changes from RE3 to RE3 Remake? You can see the difference there, right?
I really hope they don’t overuse the ‘being chased’ mechanic for this game. Whilst it’s a nice touch to any horror game, it just frustrates me when it’s across the whole game - first few times are interesting, after that it’s just a chore
I've never found the "being chased" thing to be good in any game it's been in. Especially if you're completely helpless to do anything to defend yourself. It's even worse when you can defend yourself but the thing chasing you is invincible. I hated Mr. X in the RE2 Remake because he went from pulse pounding for a minute to this thing you had to duck into save rooms every few minutes and wait to go away. "Being chased" just seems to turn into some annoying busywork far too often.
@@immortalfrieza I personally enjoy stalker enemies in survival horror themed games. Anything I can defeat with bullets doesn't really install that sense of dread and fear that being chased with no way to defend yourself does. It keeps the game feeling tense and that tenseness keeps me immersed in the game. One of the reasons I really enjoyed playing Outlast games too.
But you're right it can sometimes be a bit too much if the stalker pursues you relentlessly and constantly gets in the way of advancing the story.
I feel like in RE7 they had a good balance, as the stalkers (Jack and Margarete) were isolated to specific locations and once you figured that out you could make plans to get around them, but the chance of being caught was still there.
@@AK-jm1sc if you are a hoarder, then it is fun. Because hoarder don't waste bullet on something you can't kill immediately. But in RE3 you can dodge.
They probably will overuse it. Look at the remakes of 2 and 3. 3 was like 75% chase sequences
the reason i didnt buy RE2
I'm going to be honest, I played through the entirety of RE4 recently, I didn't find Ashley frustrating in the slightest. I think Ashley frustration is just a litmus test for bad players.
It's a relatively small portion of the game you have to babysit here anyway.
And Ashely's AI didn't fuck up like most escort missions.
you mean the the original trilogy players who failed miserably at the true survival horror aspects of evil within 1 and complained about it instead of playing on easy.
Ashley is only really frustrating when you try to speedrun RE4, if you aren't speedrunning the game, you're pretty much able to kill evry single enemy without running out of ammo in the game... Capcom is literally giving you so much money and ammo, that Ashley just becomes a boring character tbh...
like it was supposed to add some "difficulty" to the game, but it really doesnt if you know what to do in the game more or less.
first run: maybe frustrating.
second run: boring af.
Thank you. Leave her be Capcom please.
It's extremely hard to imagine this game not being a disappointment to almost everyone that enjoyed the original. If Ashley isn't with you because of the difficulty of perfecting the AI, then that is a horrible sign for this game and the passion behind it.
removing ashley is a good idea, i hate her so much
Game development never lacks passion outside of the worst of the worst games like Ride to Hell. Things like this usually come from limitations caused by time constraints and such. Making a game nowadays requires far more time and effort compared to the early 2000's. The tech is more advanced, the environments are more complex in several ways, and the time required to create something up to modern standards takes far longer. Passion can't overcome deadlines unless you're willing to do a ridiculous amount of overtime and work yourself into an early grave, which is already a problem in the games industry and work done by the sleep deprived isn't usually the greatest quality anyway.
Either way, we don't know if that mechanic has been cut or changed. This "leak" doesn't exactly sound trustworthy.
@MekaShadowlight that's a big lie cuz a lot of people ask for a remake
@@icantthinkofagoodusername4464 this is not only cope but untrue. Developing tools makes video game creation way quicker and easier than it used to be and they havent set a release date so there is no consumer deadline or time constraint.
None of these excuses really justigy the massive changes to the fundemental game design.
If they dont want yo put in the time or effort to make it right they shouldnt remake it at all
@@nolives You ever use those dev tools? Sure they’ve gotten easier to use, but the complexity of what is made with them has sky rocketed and anyone who’s used any mod tools or common game engines like Unity or Unreal will tell you it takes a while to make something that looks and plays good. The amount of assets in a modern game alone dwarfs that of older games like RE4. The amount of scripting in a modern game is insane. The amount of work that has to go into just developing the game’s tech and tool set is ridiculous. There’s a lot more that goes into game development than just opening the SDK and throwing some preexisting assets together to make a game environment.
A game also does have a fixed amount of time that can be spent on development whether they’ve announced a release date or not. At the end of the day, game development is a business and if you keep pumping money into a project for so long it’s going to be impossible to get a good return on investment and planning later projects is going to be tricky when all of your talent is working on one thing that’s take to long to finish. That sucks, and it doesn’t excuse cases where games were clearly rushed, but it is always a factor in a game’s development and therefor controlling the scope of a project is always important, lest you end up with a situation like Cyberpunk or Halo Infinite.
And still, there’s no telling if the leak is true anyway. If they are then we can still just play the original instead. It’s not like they’re removing classic RE4 from sale or that RE4 is even hard to find a copy of. Just wait ‘til the game releases and then watch a review before choosing what you’re going to purchase.
This game has aged incredibly well; I don't think that it needs a remake. I would actually rather have an update to Code Veronica in the RE2/RE3 remake style.
My guess is, they are turning Luis into Steve and adding Wesker into the helicopter with Ada because they are skipping Code Veronica.
I still play this game. A remake would be cool but I really enjoy the original. As long as I can earn my Chicago Typewriter on New Game Plus I’m good :)
I never had any problem with Ashley AI when I played the game like 10 times. Her AI is not annoying. Isn't the purpose of the game to rescue her? Having Ashley with you is such a challenge giving you tension when playing.
Also, the enemies would not want to kill her. They want her alive. The reason she might die because she accidentaly gets attacked when the enemies actually attack Leon or Leon himself if not careful.
Never had any problems either. There’s the occasional frustration with protecting Ashley, but past that, this is like the only game where I don’t have issues with escorting an AI.
She never had an AI she just followed the player, she never did anything on her own unless the player proc her to. She's gonna be more important and playable than just being presidential ballistics lol. Game is gonna be more serious than the original.
They attacked if they had shields and weapons(?), but her AI was to stick to Leon's back when he was aiming and duck when she was in the line of fire. And she fist-pumped when Leon killed an enemy. That's essential AI too.
@@SyLuX636 Because something just "paths" doesn't mean it's no AI. The same can be said "enemies just followed Leon" therefor there's no AI, an AI doesn't have to be complex. An AI does things as from deep learning to just simple repetitive tasks. At the simplest term, if something does problem solving to achieve a result, it's an AI. Pathing towards Leon no matter where she gets left and told to come back qualifies as AI.
Theres No AI in her
She only crouch to not get sho and follow player commands
I'm so relieved to hear the kick attack on stunned enemies will still be in the game. It's such an essential part of crowd control in the original and it's what made fighting big groups of enemies so fun.
I'm not too concerned about story changes. RE4 had a decent story but level design and gameplay was what made the original so great.
These are potential leaks. Why do people behave like all of this is factual?
People still have the old game and it's campyness. I think people are worried and afraid that they will get another RE3R which to be fair got alot of the original stuff cut and Nemesis was a pushover.
@@SyLuX636 Nemesis was the biggest disappointment for me. He's one of the most iconic RE enemies and the remake didn't do him justice at all.
Yea the story can be leon recovering his cellphone n it'd still be a blockbuster
I'm hoping for more maneuvers, especially if say there's one enemy left, maybe he'll do an execution instead. I mean, he had a knife fight with Krauser later, do some knifework on other enemies.
I'm really against the idea of Ashley going into safe room automatically when during combat. Remember that awesome heart pounding rainy night moments when you get to escorts her to safety. It's that challenging mechanic that puts you always on the grip. And I don't think this will be the case, cuz of it is, how could the granados would take her and you would be fearless of her being taken away. That ruins the tension of the core story of the game, "to rescue the presidents daughter from a macabre populace".
For krauser, I think he's too iconic to be cut entirely. Everyone who plays re4 remembers the knife fight. There should be proper knife fight without any qtes. Albeit short but good boss fight with him would be greatly appreciated.
I'm hoping this remake would be a better alternative to play and I don't have to play original Re4 every year (haha like that's gonna ever stop).
Literally how I felt about all the cut content and changes they made in re3. Now you all will feel my pain.
I’m probably a minority but I loved the challenge of escorting Ashley. Made the game much more dynamic and fun.
And wasn’t that the reason Leon went there in the first place? To get her out?
I agree with you. I think RE 4 is one of those games that handles escorting pretty well.
@@seanstrizak3654 Ashley is not really a bad AI, she is annoing as fuck when she screams but she was probably supposed to. I think in the RE community the feeling is that the AI is pretty decent, not sure why they change it.
Indeed
Ashley was fine
I had no trouble escorting her. People always say the controls are clunky. Well sure but you have to get good at the controls
Ashley's AI was NEVER a problem in 4. She's almost always out of the way of damage unless you're playing by rolling your face across your controller. The hell are they talking about? The majority of these leaks sound completely bogus simply due to the reasonings for them being Twitter-brainrot-tier hilarious. One or two things sound okay (giant plaga in the Salazar statues, Wesker in the helicopter), but most of them... yeesh. I don't think it'll be as bad as the RE3 remake, but if most of this ended up being true I'll probably just play it once and then go back to the original like I did for 3.
Nah Ashley was trash
@@myheadhurtbro6692 wouldn't surprise me either with how much they've cut from other remakes.
I agree Ashley in my opinion made the game more challenging. I wouldn't like it if it turned out to be true. It's a rescue mission your escorting her and protecting her. Stashing her somewhere automatically would be boring in my opinion. But we'll see what happens this Capcom is not the same Capcom that released the original game. Anything is possible.
People doubted the leaks for Resident Evil 3 as well.
Its just a way to cut corners so they can release the game fast, the same way RE2 and 3 Remake had major sections of the game cut
Luis an enemy boss? That's a mistake. How about extending his role and wait for it...make him a playable character.

Leaving out Krauser ? The most badass knife fight in the series ? Fuck this....
Btw Ashley's AI was totally fine, but her voice.... LEOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON!!!! still haunts me 😂🤣
I think the RE4 remake want to be full horror
I could do without all the BS QTE sequences.
Honestly, I'm fine with Ashley being how she is now. The single least annoying escort NPC in any game I've played because she does everything that you need her to. Stays behind you and does what the player tells her to do.
It's not like I hate stalker enemies, but come on, you can only do it so many times before it gets stale.
Yeah im done with the stalker shit. You are supposed to be a badass in re4 not helpless anymore
@@NoxLegend1 I hope they dont make the same mistake that they did with nemesis in the re3 remake. As you say, Leon is meant to be a baddass not a bitch
@@LaioAroca like at that point we understand Leon being badass, he got more training and saw literal hell in raccoon city and survived
I disagree with almost every single one of these changes. Krauser was all too important to the story due to the fact that he was essentially the conduit between Leon’s past and present. The time jump between RE2 and RE4 was so vast that without Krauser, questions of Leons past would have remained unanswered. While Ada would have been a suitable replacement, her anonymous aid of Leon would not have made her a a proper replacement for a dynamically suitable rival for Leon. Ashley being made a static character exclusive to safe rooms is completely ridiculous. After you have control of Ashley, in almost every section of combat there is a hiding place for Ashley to reside in while Leon takes care of the outside Ganados. Such an important part of RE4’s charm is how it doesn’t take itself seriously, while the player can attempt to. This time around it seems the game is attempting to ground itself to meet modern standards, which could lead to a complete failure. A perfect example of an RE game that took itself seriously, was RE6. RE4 Fans: uh-oh.
RE4 spent like 8 years in the bakery, Capcom will rush the remake in 2 and call it a day.
If you actually thought the remake was gonna be better, then I salute your level of faith.
@@mike287slashm7 Not better, but most definitely not worse. These changes would objectively worsen the game and Capcom’s image.
@@corvo1851 well i like the changes. I saw absolutely no point in a residen evil 4 remake. But now it feels like a completely different game, which I like.
I'll still keep an open-mind. Think of it as a new game, a different telling of the same story, but new enough to keep things surprising and interesting. RE4 original is one of my favorite games of all time, love that game, was just the right age to get into that kind of "horror action" gaming when the original came out and it's been in my favorite gaming memories since then and I've replayed it as an adult. Yet I lost all interest in the franchise after the 5th one, even though I really enjoyed the first and second RE too.
7th one reimagined the game and energized it again, I once again felt like I was playing a classic for the first time. Since then, they've made some great RE games, Remakes, Village etc. I believe that they can change some things around in this game while still keeping the same atmosphere and mood through, albeit probably bit darker and more sinister than the original.
Ashley’s AI was totally fine. It felt like you are protecting someone. Save rooms for Ashley every time? You obviously CAN’T LEAVE ASHLEY BEHIND.
Yeah, logically there's no safe place to leave her behind, Leon doesn't know the place and they need to get the hell out of there asap, no time to "clear out the area and then call her out".
That's why the dumpsters or other little hiding places were perfect. If Leon needed to do something, he could send her into one of them and clear an area out. The Idea of randomly leaving her in a safe room seems idiotic since that means Leon suddenly has a lot of faith that a single room will prevent Ashley from getting kidnapped. This isn't his first Rodeo in an intense combative environment with monsters wanting to kill him; he would always want Ashley near him. I find that Idea laughable. He'll be like, "Ashley, stay in this room until I come back!" And he goes out, and some random Ganado busts into the room from the vents or floor, and she's kidnapped again.
I hope they don't butcher her, Ai, because one of the aspects of the story is she's a helpless, if sheltered, college girl. You had to watch and protect her at all times; leaving her left behind defeats the purpose of having Leon as her personal guardian if he can't keep his eyes on her.
But she stays in the way instead of running when enemies comes, instead of running away like every normal human, that was a problem in resident evil 5 too but at least Sheva could fight back or save you.
@@notmus Huh if she's front of us she will duck when we aim at the enemy
I'm really glad to hear that the melee attack is still there, I was almost afraid that it would've been cut from this remake seeing how you couldn't do that in the RE 2 and 3 remake.
I'm extremely wary as soon as I heard they were cutting content. I'm actually peeved about it because if we remember what they did to 3 I am actually pretty terrified of how they will butcher 4. Even the 2 remake had stupid decisions in it as well but it was still good. I just want them not to cut anything for once.
@@steinerscout7896 yeah I just played through re3 remake and it was so disappointing. The pacing was shit
Luis was a great support character in the story. Making him the bad guy and cutting off Krauser would make no sense WHATSOEVER. Krauser and Leon had old beef so his role is important to tying up loose ends in the story and he was the one who kidnapped Ashley in the first place. I dont know the point of turning great classics into garbage like this where the story was already fine to begin with. Remakes are supposed to have small tweaks and fun easter eggs and fun interactive gameplay in respect to the old game, with new graphics, but this overall feels like a total waste of potential.I love RE4 and it was one of my favorite over the entire RE series especially as a kid. The style and look of Leon was iconic, the gameplay was thrilling and fun, the Leon death scenes were gruesome yet realistically cool, and the bosses/music was scary and kills felt relieving when you ended them with a splatter. I HOPE they fix this and listen to the fans and playerbase (most companies never do) instead this feels rushed and turned into generic cashgrab cliche.
Capcom can be very stubborn when it comes to his costumers. They can create and broke franchises like nothing in a matter of seconds (Dead Rising, the whole fighting genre before SFIV, Darkstalkers, MvC, Final Fight, etc.)
"Remakes are supposed to have small tweaks and fun easter eggs and fun interactive gameplay in respect to the old game, with new graphics, but this overall feels like a total waste of potential."

I really am hoping we don’t have a stalker , The right hand was basically a mini stalker as it is. Don’t really want a unkillable enemy in this one it just doesn’t fit with the plot at all
Honestly we dont need a stalker for every resident evil game
For me, there should still be stalkers.
But only 2 in the entire game.
And only in select portions of 2 of the 3 maps.
Verdugo in the more maze like open areas of the castle.
Krauser in the puzzle locked ruins of the Island.
Verdugo is killable with convential means. But has very high HP, extremely agile and hard to hit. Able to crawl through vents and makes very little noise.
Krauser is like a much tougher OG RE4 Leon. Able to use weapons, throw grenades, take cover, flank, etc. But is much tougher and can only be stunned if enough damage is dealt. Only at his final boss fight that can we kill him in his even more powerful but vulnerable mutated form.
The verdugo as a stalker for a small portion other than just the boss fight could be fine. The jester thing makes sense I guess since it fits the theme of the caste. If he shows up in the village then maybe its salazar sending him to get to leon before he can reach the castle. I personally hate stalkers for extended periods of time. The way Verdugo was a mini stalker like you said felt like the right amount since it was just during his boss fight and it wasn't something that overstayed.
Kinda diminishes Leon’s development a bit too. In re2 he had to run away from Mr. X and stay focused just to survive. In re4, Leon turns the tables on survival horror and demolishes the BOWS he once feared and ran from
@@yakthekuza7296 *"turns the table on survival horror"*
So you don't want this game to be a survival horror, then?
Can you explain because that's what I'm getting from your comment.
Sucks when your favorite boss in the original is cut from the remake.
Krauser was a legit epic fight for me, I pretty much fought him exactly like how he fights: knife attacks, granades, ATP, etc.
Do not worry we don't know if any of those leaks are real yet (that's the whole point, just like the supposedly leak we got stating that Leon would have a beard, that Claire would be present etc..), that's why it's important to take that kind of videos carefully. Capcom would never cut out Krauser, though I believe they'll condense some sequences into more simplified ones since RE4 is a long game, with various areas, the 2 and 3 remakes have shown that Capcom couldn't be 100% faithful. As usual I'll believe what I see once the game is released!

@@klaushassen3954 I respect your opinion but remakes, reboots, etc. don’t really affect anything for me. I still have the original
Except the gameplay mechanics, I'm pissed at everything those leaks had said...
Krauser being cut...
Salazar being a regular man...
Luis being a boss...
Maze section being stupid...
Ashley still being useless... {At least Moira (from re revelations 2) was useful and I also liked Ellie from original last of us, the way she throws bricks at enemies to distract them}
Ganados being less scary (Seeing their head explode and then the rise of the other worldly parasites, used to give me nightmares)...
Island being a Laboratory...
The moment they announced RE4 remake, I was like," oh, so they're gonna crap on my expectations just like they did with RE3 remake" and seems like I'm not wrong....😐
I'm not sure what the problem is? Everything sounds great so far, apart from the Krauser being cut part. I have no issues with the rest. Maybe Salazar being a regular man doesn't sound too bad, tbh.
The problem is this is supposed to be Capcom's premiere game development team. This sounds like something M-Two would've done like they did with Resident Evil 3.
Depressing they won't stick to the formula.
The Island pretty much was a laboratory in the original. It was also an industrial facility that harvested and created the Plagas that were shipped there from the mine beneath the Castle.
Theres no way this is real, theyre not gonna have 6 different stalker enemies chasing you around.
Right? That sounds really frustrating, when having Mr. X stalking you around was enough
@Tristan Coward I don't know, they had three in RE8---the Baby, Lady D, and her daughters, with the last two active at the same time.
I could see them giving each of the three areas the same thing as Castle Dimitresqu--a "boss" stalker and a "miniboss" stalker.
I would hate that
@@angbandsbane yeah but that was a new game, this is a remake of an old game that shouldn’t really have soo many chase sequences
@@schojdfjf6495 Agreed 100%. I'm just saying don't be surprised if Capcom sees "More stalkers, more!" as a viable sequel escalation plan.
Krauser and Leon’s beef was probably my favorite part of the game ….. and why I loved it so much why would they cut him what a joke
The Krauser knife fight sequence is my favourite part of RE4 :(
won't be your favourite on REmake4 , that's for sure lmao.
I'm quite mad. That scene was epic and it added depth to Leon's character as well.
Welp time to replay the Original RE4 once again, and forever
They need to stop having stalking enemies, it was cool and innovative in 2 and 3 but it'll just become more tiring the more they do it.
I hate enemies that constantly chase you. Its not fun and i like to explore and feel the nerve wrecking ambience
You forgot the resident evil village
@@havuseenmymonkey6663 nah, it just wasn't a big part of Village compared to 2 and 3 so didn't feel the need to mention it
@Stevean2 meh that'd be unnecessary but not a big deal, the stalker enemy (not trying to spell her name) was stalking you for an hour at most, definitely not worthy of being a deal breaker if it's that short
@Stevean2 well not my problem you seem to die to them a lot
if these leaks are true, does anyone else feel like there's too many "stalker" characters?
I 100% agree with you
Yeah it's getting stale at this point
This is one of the reasons I think this leak is cap since not only are we getting another stalker, we're getting 3 in one game which is a really bad idea
Yes sounds like they are getting lazy to me
To be fair, we've only gotten two so far.
The maze and laser part, I think, considering you quoted that the section will be really dark, then having laser or not wont change the idea of Ada pointing locations of enemies, because you wont be able to, because it's dark, you wont see enemies, so Ada somehow manages to see them and just point them out for you, so you can shoot at that direction almost blindly. That's how I image it.
Well, these leaks aged well.
If we had a stalker, I'd want it to be Chief Mendez who's stalking you around the village until the barn fight...
Protecting Ashley is a thrilling part of the combat. Letting her hide and having to backtrack to get her removes tension, I think.
Krauser is an integral part of Leon's story, and I doubt Capcom would remove him.
Luis getting more story and playable content is possible and deserving.
Unless Capcom confirms anything, I take everything with a grain of salt.
I personally think we should also have vertigo stalk you in his respective areas as well

Krausers introduction was random, at the end of the game and was fluff to make the game longer.
I did see a video that pointed out how pointless(no pun intended) their knife fight was. It was just qte and video. They could scrap that.
I frankly never had much issues escorting Ashley at all, she's glued behind Leon and is only in any real danger at specific moments like when you lift her up to the upper platform in the draw bridge room with the 2 cranks.
And the wrecking ball segment on the island. Think those two segments are were it’s the most difficult keeping her safe, oh and against the Iron Maiden’s on your way there.
I mean having ashley follow you around was a nice touch, yeah it might be frustrating at times but to be honest it added a layer of challenge and pretty intense moment that aren't scripted. they can just add more hiding spots in the maps where a huge fight will happen, they can just make her more useful like how companions work in TLOU, allow her to give callouts later on in the game, throw stuff at zombies or anything. i have a feeling this is gonna be RE3 remake all over again.
the only big change that the game really needed apart from graphics and some characters were the island section of the map, it was by far the weakest in RE4, and im glad they changed that.
EDIT: aw I'll miss the merchants voice actor :
If they take out Krauser then I want a weird twist where it was The Merchant kidnapped Ashley and he's the new stalker enemy and he says "Heh heh heh thank you" or "Is that all" when you stun him.
Taking Krauser out of RE4 and replace it with Luiz is like saying that in RE2 you will take Mr X and replace him with Marvin...
If that is true, this is going to be RE3 Demake 2.0
I want the opportunity to let Luis survive the whole thing. A chance to save him from dying. Turning him into a bossfight because he's infected is the complete opposite and I would really hate that if they did that.
Yes I think it’d be a perfect opportunity to take a cue from some older games and add multiple endings. Like if you clear Luis infection but he dies you get a different ending than if he stays infected transforms and then you have to kill him. I think it would be cool to give players a chance to change things. Luis is cool and Antonio Banderas type I wanna see him make it
I would love to have a Luis story mode

Novistadors are horrid to fight but they scared the shit out of me the first time I played the game. I recently went through a complete run of the entire game again for the hype, even now the sewers are an area I speed run still because of how un nerving it is. Even though I know all the spawns and they cant get the drop on me anymore still they added a element of horror for me that was similar to the regenerators.
I am an RE4 speedrunner. I can speak for the entire speedrunning community when I say the Novis sections are the most terrifying parts of the run. It's all RNG, they can hit you randomly from different positions each time. Really hope they keep Novis in the game though lol
Got through that part now, not even in professional and i had chills.
for me they were annoying than scary, yeah the first time were scary but man, third time playing it I was juat like, ugh this part again? great. idk f them.

“Make it infinitely worse by cutting one of the better bosses, making Ashley’s escort missions way more annoying, cut the unique enemies, add our increasingly boring stalker enemy archetypes three times in the game, completely cut the island section into a lab section”
They are changing way to many things. I love the OG resident evil 4 so seeing Krauser would be a dumb choice for the creators to make. Cuting him out would change the lore completely and the whole game wouldn't make sense because Krauser was the one who took Ashley to begin with. And with Ashley making it so she doesn't follow you is smart, that's why I loved playing the game. Having her follow you was funny when you would fail. I always continued to play it knowing that I could shoot her at any point if I got mad and it give you a fresh start.
I’m fine with most of these updates or changes except 2
1.) cutting off krauser? Wtf he is one of the main plot points of the original. I want to see a remake of the knife fight so bad.
2.) Luis becoming a boss, ok I’m fine with this as long as it’s not intentional on his part. Luis was a ally and his death was hurtful, so I hope he doesn’t end up betraying Leon.
I’m thinking all these remakes are being done with one goal in mind and that is to give another ending to RE5. After Wesker’s death, the franchise became somewhat boring without a true villain/purpose.
Idk why though wesker got incredibly fucking boring after a while
Youre giving corporations too much credit to think they care about the story that much. Its simply nostalgia bait for $$$
The real villain in the series isn't one person but some are greedy for the money, some wanted power like Spencer and wesker, and others like alexia Ashford wanted to mind control others
We didn't need a remake of this game its already perfect as it is
I'm excited to see what they do with the Del Lago boss fight. There's a brief shot in the trailer of a small boat in the water. It looks so good. I hope they make the boss fight have less repetition.
I very much hope none of this is true. I want an entire hookman section. I want all the Krauser they can muster, I don't wanna have to kill Luis, I want dwarf Salazar, I want more than just a laser pointer section with Ada, and... maybe controversial, I want Ashley walking around with us as much as in the original. This leak sounds bad, but it could all be fake, and even if it's not they could still pull it off in the execution, if the changes are genuinely inspired. Capcom is on fire right now, they're not gonna screw up their big money guaranteed cash-in.
I had a weird dream after the announcement trailer, about Salazar... Leon had a chase segment in the remake, and Salazar kept crawling off into tiny vents to trigger weird traps and I could hear his signature giggling echoing all around Leon, and Leon made a bunch of sarcastic remarks about it. It was one of those weirdly specific dream logic things, Leon managed to sneak up on him and get the upper hand, and even after just barely getting away Salazar kept insisting he still had Leon running circles in the palm of his hand after that. I dunno if there'd be anything like that in the remake, but it really makes me hope for expansion, more fun moments with the same characters... rather than arbitrary changes for the sake of justifying a remake.
People are just lame, they love it when they support companies doing something controversial

Very much liking what has been shown so far compared to what this leaked version might of been
I think it would be cool if they made the enemies limbs fall apart if you shoot them enough and the plagas will emerge from the wounds depending on which body part is missing. So blowing their heads off will obviously work like usual but the arms and legs will also have their own plaga limbs that can emerge, and if you damage the torso with a very powerful weapon THEN the plaga will replace the top half of the body much like how this video describes
Again, they are leaks but not official. That one leak that I have a bone to pick is the one with Luis. No way! If that is the case, I feel that would ruin the dynamic between Leon and Luis. The engagement is just perfect where at first he’s friendly/shady but towards the end, he decides to help Leon and Ashley. I just don’t see him as a boss at all. I cannot! A remake to 4 makes sense because its Capcom most celebrated game and it starts to show its age.
I keep saying, if you want the exact same story as the original one, just go play the original one. It's been remastered for all consoles several times. Why would you want to play a remake that is predictable in following the original game. I want the story to catch me off guard. If they are trying to fix the story doesn't make sense cut krauser because this is his story
I don't want them to cut the character but I wouldn't mind at all if they do something totally different with him, especially the boss fight.
"Problems with the AI?" Ashley's not supposed to be a support character like Sheva was. How hard can it be to just have her follow you and then snap back to Leon's six whenever he readies his weapon? The original RE4 handled that just fine.
And it turns out this is how you do a proper remake. Capcom really did it right
See, some leaks also say Krauser has been expanded on too.
A lot of these Leaks seems suspicious as it implies a large number of cuts which I imagine Capcom would want to avoid

Hard to imagine Krauser being entirely out of the story, though I could see it that he's killed by Ada, perhaps so she can ensure her cover isn't blown. As for Luis becoming a monster, that could be interesting as it could parallel Steve becoming a monster in Code Veronica.
Remake Krauser kidnaps Ashley to gain access to Los Illuminados. Saddler immediately murders him when he refuses to be implanted and behaves like the most obvious double agent ever. That's my theory anyway. Krauser really didn't make any sense when you consider how Saddler infected everyone else.

One of the previous leaks said Saddler (Spider form) isn't the final boss, meaning he could have another form or someone else would be the final boss completely.
Same leak said nothing about Krauser but it did say three bosses were cut
Wait maybe I missed it but what about Los gigantes? Are they still sticking around?
How accurate were any of these leak videos prior to Village coming out?
