I know I've watched this a few times and have commented probably at least a couple of times. I learn something new everytime I rewatch a video. I'm only 18 months into my journey, but being 66 I'm kind of trying to speed things up. I recently was able to add extensions to my dreads thanks to watching your videos. I only have 27 dreads. I originally had 30 but the ones ony neckline just didn't feel or look right, so I shaved them off. I'll likely redo those in another year and add extensions to this, now that I'm feeling more confident. The only professional help I've had was through the local beauty college as we don't really have many if any loctitions in NW Montana. I had mine started there and went back the first two months but have done my own maintenance ever since, thanks in large part to your help through your videos. We've talked about this before in comments in other videos. Anyway, you have inspired this old lady to push past my own limitations and get to where I am now. I can never thank you enough. How's the tree house coming. Anxiously awaiting your next video! You're my hero! Happy soon to be Thanksgiving!
My wife recently finished her new set of dreads... went blonde this time and she/we love them. She got her Dollylocks products in the mail yesterday (her first time using Dollylocks) and it was like Christmas for her :-) Your new dreads are badass too! Great job!
I'm amazed you could flip your hair over right after a maintenance. I had my first maintenance this weekend, and my scalp is still tender lol. Hopefully it gets better as they mature!
Love love love!!! Adding 8" to my 42" babies tonight thanks for the courage to play with my babies, been wanting to for awhile. Like you, I spend so much time on everyone else's and make no time for mine. So tonight and tomorrow, I believe I will treat myself!!! Blessings from me and mine to you and yours
That was awesome! Pretty kool to see you with the shorter hair for a minute too, looked really good just plain and simple.. But in the end i think all the decoration is badass! from my past experiences with dreads, I remember those maintenance days and how uplifting it feels once its all done!! Ready for those days again.
SO ultimately fun to see the finished look at the end 🙌 I was like “theyre already so long!” but once I saw the Dreadlock Rapunzel in effect... you were right 🙌 thank you for these awesome videos
Hi. I've used box hair color for years. I have new partials... Wondering if I can just use that to color my dread roots? I kind of live, out in the styx (NH border, close to rindge NH) and am having a hard time, finding a colorist that will help me with this. Any recommendations? Love your channel. Helped me a great deal being a newbie...
You have the same hair texture as me ! And i also bleach the roots... soo my dreads break as well at some point :') woa so nice to come across someone who does the same to their dreads ^^ i also like to add extensions sometimes :) i ve had my dreads for 5/6 years
Not sure if you will see this.. first LOVE LOVE Your dreads!! soo gorgeous!!! and second.. can you wash your dreads with the decor and stuff in them like that or do you have to take that out every time? and how often do you wash your hair since they are dreaded? I am getting ready to do my very first install on myself ever and I am excited!! lol trying to get all the ins and outs and advice I can before I start! Thank you!! xoxo
I have a question. I have had dreads before. I realized that I am no good at maintaining my own. I plan to get dreads again when salons are open and or taking new clients. So I will most definitely be a repeat customer. How soon after the initial placement do you suggest going back for up keep? This may sound crazy but can you use a dryer on synthetic permanent dread extensions?
How often do you suggest maintenance? I had my hair done 3/6. I had maintenance 4/12 (and added extensions for length) I went crazy with frizz but after maintenance I realized how much I missed the frizz!!!
It looks amazing👏👏👏👏👏 i just removed my dreads, I had fake extentions in mine. My own dreads where fine but much too short. They got to heavy for my scalp and neck. I wonder if human hair extentions are just as heavy or lighter on the scalp??? I miss my dreads so much😪
huntin4life I’m willing to bet it’s the people who think “white people dreadlocks are racist”. They conveniently ignore that hair styles similar to modern styled dreadlocks have existed in most cultures over vastly different timelines independent of each other...but it’s “racist” because the most recent easy to recognize resurgence was in the 19th century Caribbean and therefore is “uniquely black”...even though the dreadlock was an adopted style from transplanted Indian yogi and holy men who escaped slavery to Jamaica and surrounding islands. It’s a silly theory that suggests inherent “cultural appropriation” and “racist ignorance” are the only reasons for a white person to wear locks regardless of personal reasons, cultural expression, and even simply fashion. I have in the past worn a style of locked braids as an expression of my Jewish heritage honoring Shimshon (the Christian Samson) and someone suggested it was racist because my hairstyle was “uniquely black” because it was a style of full head braids. My hair style was purely designed from the description of Shimshon’s hair in the Talmudic texts...it had absolutely nothing to do with any current or historic black hair style.
It looks amazing! You have such fun hair - I miss having fun hair 😥 Of course, my hair was fun in the 80s, spiky, punk rocky and blue tips...sigh. I wonder if 54 is too old to get dreads for the first time? Asking for a friend 😉
Never!! Omg there are so many ~ Aged Individuals ~ with beautiful, long dreads. Some even call it the fountain of youth. Be it blue + purple or a pure silvery gray 🙌 do it up, queen!
Great video filled with informative and helpful tips. I couldn't agree more when you say RINSE WELL lol. I also have a UA-cam channel to which I incorporate oodles of dread videos on... I have dabbled with bleach a few times and am also very cautious on chemicals, proper usage and preserving my hair. Thanks for sharing. Your dreads are beautiful 😊✌🕉💙
I also LOVED the slim shady reference 😁 that man rocks it out always. Forgot to mention I too have a dread business called "Dread-Ful Heads"...watching and learning new tips constantly helps one succeed on their journey and productivity with their dread clients. Love the feather in your dreads btw!!
Man when was in my early 20s my great uncle offered me a bright orange chair from the 70s. It was left from when his wife owed a beauty shop. At the time I'm like yea wtf would I do with that. Me now with dreadlocks... fuck it would be amazing if I had a drying chair
Now that’s a lot of work. Looks great though. Did Luke notice your hair is changed? I get in trouble when my wife gets a hair cut and I don’t notice it. Well.... I stay in trouble. Lol.
Locked hair has been worn by multiple cultures the world over for millennia. Africans, Asians, Pacific Islanders, Celts, Slavic peoples, Germanic peoples, Pre-Columbian Central and South Americans...the list goes on. I totally understand that black hair has been treated completely differently in the US (and elsewhere) and that there is a long way to go in reclaiming the right to wear black hair however one may choose to, but this is not cultural appropriation. Just about every culture, independent of one another, has utilized this style at some point. I do not want to sound dismissive of the difficulties that black people have endured for hundreds of years over hair...that is unquestionably an injustice that continues to this day. Anyhow, saying this is cultural appropriation would be like saying that tattoos or sandals belong to a single culture, which of course, they do not.
I’m struggling to find some human hair dress extensions. I’ve done my hair a couple of times & brushed out as acrylic ones don’t stay looking good for very long. I have help this time with sections & I want this to be my last installation with human hair as it should last as long as I do 🤞🏼 I’ve never washed my hair while dreaded but each being is unique & can do whatever they want ✌🏼I’ve looked on Etsy but there’s too much to search through and i have a problem in my brain which makes me feel like I’m learning a different language instead of any simple task that I could do & multitask at same time I lack concentration, can’t spell a lot of words or even think of the word I want then when written words form it’s not understandable, I’m now dyslexic & lots of other dys…dyspraxia is included i really can’t afford to pay for all the extras i just need help from anyone who can recommend anyone who would just make human hair into extensions like the single ended synthetic ones I’ve been using ~ desperately in need of help ~ i have nobody in my life anymore it’s just me & my dog usually apart from my new neighbour visit times when I’m feeling up to it. Please please please can some kind soul help me out. This has taken me so long to type out my head is aching ~ nicknamed ~ brain drain ~ by myself. I need a long rest now. Thank you I’m advance I’m in the Uk turned 50 in October so I have dark ish brown auburn hair which is embracing the greys… i just really need hair that will last me forever without it taking me forever to read further down my searches only to find out it’s synthetic but made by a human 🙄😂🙄 ✌🏼 Xxx

Wow, looking good!!!!! If a bald guys opinion is worth anything.
I think bald guys have great opinions on other people's hair. The Hubs definitely has an opinion on mine LOL
How did you add the feathers? I also noticed skinny braids?
How often do you suggest maintenance? I had my hair done 3/6. I had maintenance 4/12 (and added extensions for length) I went crazy with frizz but after maintenance I realized how much I missed the frizz!!!
Question how do you wash with your feathers in your hair without getting them wet? Or is it ok to get them wet?
It looks amazing👏👏👏👏👏 i just removed my dreads, I had fake extentions in mine. My own dreads where fine but much too short. They got to heavy for my scalp and neck. I wonder if human hair extentions are just as heavy or lighter on the scalp??? I miss my dreads so much😪

Where do you get your loc jewelry?
You are a credit to your art. Gorgeous! One question. Does your scalp get used to the weight of the individual dreadlocks?
Definitely get used to it! Always feels heavy when wet though!
Can you tell me how many oz developer u used ❤️❤️

How do you keep the feathers from falling apart? I'd love to wear feathers, but I'm worried they'll just fall to pieces whle I sleep
Can you do it on a guy with about 3 inch long hair? I’ll fly down there if you can. If I have to wait that’s cool too.
Have you ever had them your natural brown color?
Where’s the skull one from??
Ahhhh!!! I’m in RI, where did you get the beads? YOURE GORGEOUS AND I LOVE YOUR HAIR 💕💕💕 much love
Paul Mitchell is a super nice guy. He sponesers a karate demo team on the NASKA circuit. I have known him for years.

DAMNIT! That was the perfect video to do it haha I’m sorry... I’ll find another opportunity! Wish I could post a pic in the comments!
Liz Kidder no worries, next post or post on IG. Am following you there too!
Now that’s a lot of work. Looks great though. Did Luke notice your hair is changed? I get in trouble when my wife gets a hair cut and I don’t notice it. Well.... I stay in trouble. Lol.
Hahha he was aware ahead of time that I was going to change it up so he didn’t really have the opportunity to “not notice”🤣
Are you in NC?
Where do you purchase the human hair?
Thanks ☮️
Online! I like hisandher.com
@@LizKidder Thank you, I'll check them out!
Have a great wknd 😊✌️
If love to know how heavy that is
Aren’t you not supposed to mix bleach and developer with metal??
I wanted to see what the maintenance looked like… 😞
Dang cute girl

What in the cultural appropriation-
