I will go for thin synthetic dreadlocks that reach down to my waist. I've always wanted long dreadlocks hair and am so glad I've found your channel on here to get all the help I need to get started. With live from Australia. 💯
Your voice is so soothing omg. You'd be great at ASMR videos. I used double ended for the first time and I've never had such issues. Single ended are my homies hahaha... Definitely need to turn them into single ended ones because double ended keeps slipping out lolz.. hurting my scalp too :(
I have 22" hair already, but I'm not sure if I should get single or double ended. I want to start off with partial first because I have a hard head, but my hair is fine/thin my scalp is not used to a lot of weight.
Question! I have been wearing wool dreads on and off for about 2 years now but I’ve noticed my hair thinning recently, I’m thinking from very early traction alopecia. Do you have any advice on how to keep wool dreads without causing stress on the scalp?
hmm this is a very interesting thought, do you think maybe switching to a thinner type of dread would help since there are more sections and less weight? or even synthetic? im not sure if they are lighter or not though, just a thought maybe. I hope you can figure it out would hate to see a dreadhead fall! :(
I was wondering if after I had them for 2 months and I wanted to continue having them for 2 more months would it be okay for my hair to take them out, wash my hair, and then reinstall them or should I wait a while before reinstalling them?
We always advice to wait a few days, up to a week. To give your scalp and hair a bit of rest. We do have clients though, that don't do this, and directly have a set reinstalled. They're fine with this!
hello, i am a guy with short hair, i wanted to try growing my hair out for dreads but im just too impatient, could I get synthetic dreads or would they just slip out? im not an expert at all but i assume you would use a crochet hook to install synthetic dreads so i would then also assume that they wouldnt slip out? I can't find any answers on google so im hoping you can help me out. One Love ❤, Jah Bless💚💛❤
Synthetic Dreads are a great solution to let your hair grow! You can braid them in and they're endlessly reusable (the ones that we sell). If you wanna get real dreads (from your own hair) they can be extended with either human hair or synthetic locks. I would advise you to see a professional dreadlock stylist for this. The ones that we have educated are listed on dreadshopacademy.com
For thin short hair I recommend a combination of SE and DE with just a bit more SE than DE Dreads. Make sure to check if the length of your hair is long enough to braid them in. You might wanna choose for the Thin Locks of Love that hold better on short hair. Hope this helps!
these look beautiful on you guys! would you consider using a different terminoligy on your hair? (instead of calling them dreadlocks to call them fairy locs or matt locs etc)
Ah, that's a disappointment! Do you have some dreads left? Maybe you can take some dreads out, resection and rebraid those with some extra dreads? We do offer an online course in which we guide you to install your own dreads: www.dreadshopacademy.com/how-to-install-your-own-synthetic-dreads
@@dreadshop I also feel like she made them way too tight, I had to take them out last night because of the pain I was in 🥲, thank you for the help. I’ll try some different techniques and get a better set of dreads as the ones I bought were way too itchy for me as well.
For a full head we advise 4 bundles, 2 double ended and 2 single ended. If you buy this in our webshop you will get free access to our online installing course!
@@dreadshop no not professionally installed as I couldn't afford it but, we looked uo videos for 3 or 4 months straight and braided them in. I love them though. Today is day 3 and the itch is slightly better. I've got a few different softening sprays but haven't found one I really like yet 😂
@@laurascorner-f1m I see, as long as they're not installed too tight because that can cause huge itch and irritation. As for a spray, my personal favorite is the Dollylocks refreshening spray, this one always takes down my itch :) And they smell amazing :) Enjoy your dreads!

Hi Renae! For partials and fine hair I would suggest using single ended dreads! Hope this helps! -X- Renate
@@dreadshop it does thank you so much!
Personally I prefer double ended. Lots of volume and less work for each install
Do you have a Non-Disclosure Agreement for your course and also do you teach your student where to get hair from?
How do you sleep? Best way? Pillow?

If i want to wear synthetic dreads in a mohawk how many bunches should i buy ?
Hi! You can find that information here: www.dreadshop.com/ie/blog/how-many-dreads-sidecut-mohawk-shaved.html
I have a dread Mohawk and I find that I usually end up using between 40-45 dreads each install and it looks awesome
I have very thin hair so 30 de is enough for me

Maybe a nice oil spray?? Tea tree and castor oil are good for your natural hair 💜 i hear dolly locks is good i personally would just buy my own oils..

Hello! Just finding this video. I have DE synthetic dreads. I got a bundle of 35 and with thin-medium hair if I can use what I have to do full head?
If the thickness is the same as our Locks of Love, it will do!
I have short thin hair do you recommend Se or De dreads and it’s my first dread set as well

Would it hurt to get more than 4 bundles of double ended dreadlocks for a full head?😅
If your hair is very thick, that's possible. I wouldn't advise it with very thin hair.
I'm in the Kansas City, Kansas USA area. How do I find if there is someone who knows how to install the synthetic dreads near me?
You can find all our affiliates here: www.dreadshopacademy.com/find-a-stylist
i’m in kansas city kansas! i can install synthetic locs for temporary wear using the braiding method
How many dreads would I need for half head of single thread dreadlocks ?
For a half head you'll need 2 bundles of SE Locks of Love. :)
Do I wash the dreads before use?
If you wish you can do that, you don't necessarily have to.
