I love that you did the button… I got 3 gallons of buttons from my grandma and keep looking at them like, “would you go in my hair?” It looks sooo cute! Especially as a one off. I’m going to have to pull some of grandpa’s buttons now…
I like it. I had a few with loc sprinkles but the color on the beads started to fade. So i took them out. Im about to do it again but with crafting beads like u did
That would be so fun picking up little things in antique shops or renfairs and do a dreadlock growth measuring tape with them. I've seen people do that with charms where they sew charms in the dreadlock and like 6 months later sew another one and another 6 months later sew another one. I've seen people measure the length in-between them and check the hair growth. But being able to pick up little charms and bobbins and such to sew on the hair would be really adorable.
I have a button in my hair, too! My loctician said she didn't know how it got in the "treasure box" , and I just HAD to have it! It's my favorite piece of bling.
Currently making my first set. (First time making a set, not installed). I wanted to incorporate crystals in them and this will be PERFECT!!! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, THIS IDEA!! Thank you for sharing!
OhmyGod this is SO awesome!!! I'm totally going to try this, and I absolutely love the addition of the buttons and other lil trinkets!!! Looks amazing- 100% have a project for today!! 😁
Awesome, I love this so much! I watched this one when you posted it and I’m wondering, how are they holding up now? Do your dreads kinda mature around them at all? Would love to see an update video 🖤 I love all your content, thank you for sharing and inspiring 🖤
Omg...I love this so much,I have a drawer full of smaller beads that won't fit my dreads and now I can use them so I Def will be giving this a try today lol ty so much for the idea 😊 it turned out so gorgeous 😍 ✌💚😁
This is such a fun video! Sewing so close to your field of view is not a easy task. The dread looks awesome! I have that curved needle. I think it’s an upholsterer’s needle. I use it for darning socks. My friend has Kevlar thread so I might just do a thick braid & try this. I have lots of beads😂. Looking forward to seeing your next awesome video Liz!!!❤️❤️❤️
I believe a lot of dread peeps also use macrame beads. These crafting beads have big holes that u could fit the whole dread thru and then I can “stitch” it in place
I've been wanting to do partial dreadlocks starting with maybe 5 (all over not half and half like the typical way) and slowly increase the amount till I have a full head what sections would you suggest I started with?
I tried synthetic dreads a few weeks ago and I really loved them. But...I was afraid that I didn't do my sectioning right. It's only me so I don't have anyone who helps me.😢 Do you have any tips you could give me?
I love your dreads ,they are my most favorite of any you tube video I've seen, and I've seen alot..color,volume,decor,everything...Awesome. But the fry voice, ugh!😅
The technique is no different than sewing on to extensions, it is just trickier to do to hair that is attached to your head :) It looks gorgeous. Question/concern: I would not want too much cotton thread woven inside my dreads, like if there was lots of cotton stitching in the middle of thicker parts of the dread.... wouldn't that attract mold and be harder to dry completely when the hair is washed?
you can also use clear mono cord found at any craft store or walmart . there is also clear nylon thread in sewing(not as strong) or embroidery thread or fishing line works too in place
side note i prefer actual beading needles because they are more likely to fit every bead on versus the curved weave needle she is using and seem alot more flexible but its all on preference 🙂
Great idea 😎🤘 I sow a new bead every yr on same dread so I can see how much my baby’s grow. But that looks like fun 😉
Lol oh my word, the "that's what she said" was so random and unexpected, I about spit out my water. 😂

Pretty cool. I’m thinking of putting beads. Are wooden beads ok, can they be washed and do u know if the mold from showering?
Oh I love this. I just took out my extensions... except the one made from my dad's hair. I wanted to set it apart, and this is perfect!

That looks so cool Liz,, Just blends nicely !!
I did this with charms when I first started my journey in early 2020, but I used fishing line. It held up great, until I took them out winter of 2021.

Love it... doing it!

I love your dreads ,they are my most favorite of any you tube video I've seen, and I've seen alot..color,volume,decor,everything...Awesome. But the fry voice, ugh!😅
Does anyone know where to get the nylon thread? Amazon? The dollylocs website link now says error 404 not found. I'm assuming they no longer sell it.
