Learning the skill of compromise will help you to crack the code of this most difficult of standing postures. In this video I teach you how to skillfully play the different actions off of each other in order to create a balanced position that optimizes your spinal rotation and works your whole body evenly.
    The principal actions are:
    1) keeping your front thigh down and driving forward and your front hip down and in as you lunge.
    2) Maintaining strong contact between your down arm and front leg
    3) Extending and grounding the back leg.
*What makes this posture so difficult is getting all three of these actions to happen together and at the same time. The focus of this video is that I teach you to create your posture by evenly compromising in each of these 3 areas of your body. I teach you how to work with your back heel up off the ground ((and yet keep your foot angled down toward the mat). And I also teach you to work on your fingertips rather than completely pressing your front hand down. These two compromises help you to avoid making the large mistake of allowing the front thigh to go up and back (instead of down and forward) and the front hip to go up and out (instead of down and in). When you understand how to play these 3 actions off of each other with discernment and poise you will protect your body, win mind control and be able to create a thorough even spinal twist that electrifies your main Pranic Nadi (Shushumna) from the navel to the crown of the head.
    Enjoy!

Thanks a Lot David ! I benefited a lot from this Video. My hand (say right) upon twisting is not able to go down to the Right side of Left leg. Similarly on the other side. How can I improve that flexibility please ?
