- In David Garrigues Asana Kitchen he explores the set up to the jump back and gives detailed instruction how to begin working on the famous transition. David also gives tips and exercises on how to strengthen the upper body, core, hips and legs so the student can gain strength and power to perform this beautiful vinyasa transition.
This video really captures David's gift and enthusiasm for the teaching of the practice of Ashtanga Yoga. How blessed we are to have him call Philadelphia home ! David has become a Philadelphia classic like the Liberty Bell, soft pretzels and
cheesesteaks ( if cheesesteaks were vegan )
I've watched dozens of jump back tutorials and this is by far the best. Thank you so much.
This is one of the best explanation i've ever seen! Thanks a lot

Genius 👍👍👍👍I did it with the video 📸 I can not believe it 👌🙏
Great video! I almost did it!
After nearly 3 years practising Ashtanga yoga on my own (not by choice but because there is no such teacher where I live) at last with your video I seem to get real bases to get a chance to REALLY work properly on the jumping back! Despite the fact that I have watched many videos from great yogi (Kino, Larula Glaser, Mark darby and others) none had given me simple keys to start working efficiently on that move that seems so elusive and impossible, so I wanted to thank you for this video and the energy and motivation you put in demonstrating how it has to be done and where to start the work; it is very inspiring and now I feel ready to REALLY start the work so thank you so much, I am going to work a lot with your u tube channel from now on!!
5 cry .

Thank you! Nice job of breaking this down into individual, workable components.
hai Master David, I learn good lesson in building the foundation in your jump back yoga.i hope you have more foundation/techniques to improve in many difficult asanas.
Hi
Me too, Ivan. Only an ocean away...
thank you:))))
Super.
Ahaha, the expressions of the lady by the window :P
I can just sorry that I can practice with David
Hi David, I can't press my hands flat to the ground with my feet lifted is this lack of strength or could it be down to my thick thighs?
❤
Really good explanation!
wow
Superbien explicado, verdad? Estoy con los jumpthroughs y los jumpbacks y este vídeo me ha venido genial.
mi inglés es súper básico y aún así me ha venido bien! Viendo estas cosas recuerdo todo lo que me queda aún por trabajar ;)
I have really short arm.... How can I touch floor?
Very like
🤝🙏🤲👍👍👍👍
well it's important as it's something you do 100 times in a single yoga session. there's always room for improvement.
My teacher keeps making me put my hands right besides my hips. I’m not sure what his motive is but it’s super hard to do anything that way
this is no sports, this is yoga. If you can do this on the spot, you're probably the most talented yoga beginner ever.....To do this, it takes years of practice.
🧘🏽♂️👌🏽🙏🏼✌🏽💜💜💜💜👋🏽
Very good explanation. But, obviously, it is much easier to get for a man than a woman
+weykapuy Says who ?
I am a sporty guy! still playing active tabletennis ,plus riding and swimming! I mean I am not against any sport! but for such a easy move spending time, so much and energy and bla bla sonds funny! with that energy u can even learn Chinese ))))
Only people who do not know/understand the essence of yog and think it yo be done ordinary exercise routine will talk like this🙄
this looks more like a gymnastic cours for me, he's so loud and strict...
He's fantastic ... passionate sharing his knowledge helping others get to a great place in their practice !
Thanks!
