Feeling great seeing foreigners are more active in yoga practices
I'm new to ashtanga and I'm so glad I found your videos! I have an excellent teacher, but I find watching you break poses down really helps things sink in :)
I love your enthusiasm and sincerity!
Pretty impressive, David, to casually talk through such clear instructions all the while floating around in the arm balance.
Love your videos, great tutorials, thanks!
Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge, I’m a yoga teacher but sometimes my words are not enough to clarify a posture and then is the moment when I “appropriate” yours , and it works!!!
David videos are such a Gem for the worldwide Yoga practitioners, he is not only very clear at his explanations but he is a true altruistic teacher that share his knowledge for free. Thank you David and congratulations... Can't stop watching your tips...
"Such a beautiful view!" One of my favorite DG lines.
Jenny Frank I totally agree
Wow came here by accident but amazed. What a beautiful fun informative way of teaching and learning for me.
I love his energy and explanation! It makes sense to me even if I cannot do this yet, thankd David Garrigues!
Thanks for watching, Pep Yoga! Jai!
Funny I should come across this video just as I'm starting to really work on this pose. I'm so glad I did...I won't lie, I'm frustrated, but watching this made me smile and laugh and believe. (I'll be watching this again, I'm sure, for inspiration.) Thank you!
I hope you come to England sometime, or else I will try and come to you. Washington would be nice...Fantastic teaching. Thank you so much for the fresh inspiration.
Thank you so much. You keep helping me improve my practice. I was in Philadelphia and wish I could be there. In Gainesville, FL, working on arm balances and keep growing. One of these days...teacher training :o) (all good food, too. love the video on food shopping. trying to stick to all living foods the best I can)
Thank you so much 🙏

Thank you for sharing your demonstration. I am learning the pose and it is so weird and dificult for me to get into it. Hopefully, with time, my body agrees to it. Hahah :)

David come to mexico please, we Need you
Do I have to squeeze my right leg to lift up both feet after I send the feet past the hands? I don't get how to lift the feet from the ground.
Good
This is how I imagine Iggy Pop would teach Ashtanga if he ran a shala ... Great work!
Not sure if comments are still being monitored on this video.. but my major struggle with this pose is getting the legs to go straight. I have had tight hamstrings my whole life, along with other knee/hip/whatever connections that my body says NO! to wide legged seated folds ... what to do? Thanks, Erica
Hi Erica !! I thought maybe I could help abit... generally..in wide legged forward folds.. hamstrings are part ....but not the only possibility...try this...if u can forward fold with your legs together...to whatever point...but them take your legs wide...and fold forward....if you find folding forward with wide legs impossible... Probably it's your adductors..or inner thighs and hips...it's kinda like...adductors vs hamstrings...but...without seeing you in person...it can be many other things in the posterior hips and such...working on opening your hips and hanging out in wide legged folds while watching tv will help alot...lunges....watching tv in squats...the primary series focuses on forward bending...or hip flexion with external rotation...this in itself will help...what has helped me lots..
is just the practice of trying to staighten my legs in the jump back of this pose...slowly...I hope you can get some relief !! it's hard for the stiff folks...I know !!! 😀
Also...if you get time...David Kiel...of www.yoganatomy.com..or purple valley yoga on youtube...will give some serious anatomical insight into this problem..look for interviews playlist..then find David Kiel...he talks about this exact problem in one of the videos...if you can't find it...let me know...I will send you a link..
