We had awesome guitars and amps for years but we had garbage cabs/speakers. Once I switched to one with V30s it changed everything. Then came all the speaker swaps.
Sorry for the late comment.I watch your videos as soon as they are released.. Definitely d v seventy seven I took all of my v thirties out and got rid of them
Me and my friend Rocco went to buy some movies and we ended up high trying things in the shooting range onto the back of the Warehouse. I don't wanna brag about the Toys movies and/or how you've got the channel named. Namastè.
@@BrianWGuitar 77 rules! Those guitars are something else. They are so nice to play. I had buyers remorse with both until I played them and then that went away!
I have a hesu demon speaker in my 2x12 and it's probably my favorite speaker, but I typically mix them with other speakers. Hesu makes a 10" bass speaker that sounds awesome too. I'd be down for a comparison between the Demon and the V30; I haven't tried mixing those two together yet.
@@tyrannosaurusriffs I've blended it with a Mojotone Greyhound which fills up the low end and that speaker typically has a rolled off high end which the Hesu fills, IMO. I've paired it with a Weber 100 watt Greywolf, which lends itself well to fuzz/doom type of sounds. The Greywolf is suppose to be Weber's version of a V30, but I don't think they sound similar at all, to be honest. I've paired it with a Mojotone BV30V, but I didn't really dig as much. Some day I'll get a WGS Vetern30 to see how they pair or get the "hell" sound by pairing a Lichlaerm LCFR-150; I mean the Lucifer and the Demon have to play well together, right? I use 16 ohms speakers wired to 8 ohms for what it's worth.
@@tyrannosaurusriffs Reviews on thomann are also very good. Modern sound and articulate. I have planned to build a 1x12 for ages. You think it would be a good choice?
The Demon speaker is so much different than what were all used to hearing. In the room, to me it's harsh. In a band mix though, it cuts through like nothing else I've tried.
Have you found a sweet spot for the Hesu? I am considering getting one. I find that some speakers are not like v30s and the edge of the cap isn’t the sweet spot.
@@tyrannosaurusriffs Well, the basket is not a Celestion basket, obviously. It's not a WGS basket. It's not a eminence basket. Just look at some pictures of the Demon and the VOTW. Identical basket, magnet, cone, dust cover. They both came out at roughly the same time. And - they sound the same. I guess the info comes from observation?
Great video. You sure deserved my subscription.
Hey, thank you for the kind words! Have a great day!
Your videos are very helpful. I'm looking to drop a new speaker in my Peavey Bandit, you are helping me narrow down my choices.
Happy to hear that! Speaker choices are tough but very rewarding in the end! Good luck with your decision though!
DV77 just has more grit and punch. Meaner sounding. But holy cow, they sound great together. Great videos, keep up the great work
Hey thank you for the kind words! I appreciate it! I agree on the blend, they’re a great fit!
You're definitely the one that turned me onto the fact that speakers make just as big a difference if not more so than the amp or guitar itself

Man that Hesu cooks in a mix. I think I'm in love
For sure! As soon as I plugged into it I was sold. I really like that speaker a lot!

I have 2 for my Mesa 212 I need to put in but after my last speaker comparison I can’t decide what I want in the big boy Mesa!
If you're a real speaker addict you need both.
Agreed. I need all of the speakers.
They both sound awesome. But for some reason, the 77 sounds more chunky and brutal to me. Love em both....
@ same, I love them both! I really enjoyed blending them!
Yep, one of each in a 2x12. I hope he does v-type vs dv-77, that's what I have in my 4x12, 2 of each.
@@KillaFXZ you know I will!

Yeah, absolutely both.
Im jealous of the sparkle music mans,. I still really like the sound of the DV77

I have. I got a 2x12 and put a Hesu Demon and a V30 in it. Sounds glorious.
Would highly recommend.
@@raytorvalds3699 definitely on my list after this!
Demon much brighter to my ears. It might be a good fit for the low end of an eight string?
I would bet it handles the extended range and low tunings very well!

Hesu sounds close to a Celestion Creamback maybe ?
Oooh yeah you might be right on that. Now that you say that it’s probably closer to that than the V30. Maybe that’s the video I should do!
It's exactly the same speaker as the Orange Voice of the world. Same speaker, different sticker.
I feel the DV-77 cuts through the mix a lot more than the demon does. I wonder how the demon will sound once it’s more broken in?
It is a used Demon that I bought from someone but I don’t know how many hours are on it. The 77 definitely cuts through well!
Have you found a sweet spot for the Hesu? I am considering getting one. I find that some speakers are not like v30s and the edge of the cap isn’t the sweet spot.
I have not yet sir. I’ve only tried the one position. I need to do something different going forward just trying to figure it all out still.
One more question , tell me exactly what that white guitar was the first one you were playing in the video i might have to pick one up

@tyrannosaurusriffs i think.
We're all a little guilty at that... twenty five amps and about eighty five guitars.. its a crazy addiction
